[Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome to another edition of the doger pass podcast this for UFC 301 producer Megan is on the stick Cody saftic is on the line we’re going to Brazil buddy Rio de Janeiro U I’m excited for the for the crowd there last time we’ve had like a really rockus crowd and there’s no disrespect to any of the other plac but it was when we were in Mexico and we know that like the Brazilian fans always bring it I know it’s just like fights are fights I enjoy what but it’s just like the Apex to a sold out Brazilian crowd they’re going mental from the first fight to the end Australia always does a really good job as well they got a great fan base over there I don’t know it just adds a some a certain J sequa to to the entire experience for me what about you yeah I agree like last week’s card you just knew it was a dumpster fire from a betting perspective going into it nobody trustworthy everybody pretty much let me down just no good the only two reads actually that were any good was you knew Ron yaaya would be bad and that KO Machado outside of that wof what a bad card but again you knew that going in this card polar opposite from a betting standpoint yeah some of these favorites are a little steamy at this point but you look a lot of these fights and you can see a clear path of Victory now is everyone going to show up and perform maybe maybe not but I do love the braz an angle too because one live crowd live crowd that’s hot they get into it and the Brazilian judging is notoriously bad in favor of Brazil I like that we go to Canada we try to bet some Canadians thinking they’ll get the rub don’t get the rub you go to Europe you get some European guys thinking they might get a rub no rub you go to Australia thinking those guys might get the rub no rub Brazilian guys get the rub man and that part of that is the crowd right you hear the energy you hear the hu the opponent lands it’s crickets the other guy has like a a checked kick Place goes wild so you know judges human nature how could they not play into that so we faded a couple Brazilians last week now we’re relying on them pretty heavy now like any card 14 fight card there’s going to be some pie [ __ ] it’s which ones I can identify three I think could be them but how many of those underdogs are going to win and how many of those underdogs are you just chasing value on so that’s why I got my man Paul shy talk some senen to me and hopefully we can figure it out well I he may have come to the wrong podcast if you’re looking for somebody to talk sentence you I’m just like I always just like wait for you to be like I like this Underdog I’m like well if you like this Underdog who am I to argue um yeah last week was yeah pretty rough for me too I was on like the the wrong end of multiple tough close decisions like I had bonitz that fight was kind was pretty much a coin flip so it’s like I didn’t beat myself up too much on that one I was on lipsky lipsky by decision that one was wasn’t all that close but Karine Silva like kind of showed us little wrinkles of her game that like I don’t think we knew pre flop were there so if I if you told me that fight was going to go the full 15 minutes I would have probably felt pretty good about my lipsky bet there as well Ken Silva just showed that she’s making massive improvements what else uh yeah pretty much every close decision was a was a loser for me only thing I got right was gusov by KO and uh I had onama as well but uh it was a losing night one of those decisions go my way we break even two of those decisions go my way were you know doing dances in the street but uh there’s always fights the next week and we’ve got help yeah yeah you dude dude you’re preaching the choir because I was way Overexposed Michael figl who I thought won figl was the yeah and yeah and I had a b bunch of Jonathan St Pierce who I thought Jonathan Pierce I also thought one he lost his Saint part at this point but those are all close to decisions where yeah I thought we were on the right side of it unfortunately the judges disagreed and so that’s part of the problem that we’ve been running into North America is that the judging’s just not too good back in the day we used to laugh at the Brazilian judging how bad it was but now it’s like let’s just Trend in the direction if you know it’s going to be bad let’s go in that direction and load up on some of these Brazilian guys right so if you look at prior cards a lot of the heavy favorites do hit and a lot of the Brazilian guys do hit so we just got to get them yeah I don’t know if the if the if the scoring and the judging is going to be bad and favored in Brazilian or in favor of Brazilians here having you know people cheering on and and Illuminating every little thing that the Brazilian does probably doesn’t hurt but it’s not really like going into like my capping of this card without further Ado let’s get into the main main event we’ve got Alexandra Pantoja taking on Steve EG minus 200 for Pantoja EG can be had for Plus 170 uh kind of surprised this was like minus 240 plus 200 the other day and I I kind of looked at it it’s just like I like what Steve EG’s done in the UFC I think he’s shown that he’s very well-rounded like most guys are in the flyweight division he’s got a big grappling chops showed off that you know may not just be a decision machine was able to M knock out match Nell last time out so he’s got a little bit of pop in his fist I know a lot most people knock out match Nowell so it is what it is but like taking that step up to the multiple time defending champion in Pantoja who’s you know shown that he’s made massive improvements is at the top of his game right now in front of a Brazilian crowd the grappling and fairness like EG looks like he’s pretty stout in that department but he’s taking a massive Step Up in competition there when not I saw it was like plus 200 for EG I was just like I don’t think that would be enough for me to pull the trigger it’s just like I have too many question marks about where he’s at where it’s like I know exactly what to expect from panoa I think I would be willing to take like a bit of a I like Pantoja money line uh as like a parlay piece or whatever and I think I’ll going to be testing the waters of like Pantoja sub around like plus 300 which is out there just because it’s like a question mark I don’t know it’s like if Pantoja gets this fight to the mat is ersag able to roll with him he may very well be but it’s like I haven’t really seen it yet to to get me off of the ledge of taking a shot on that type of prop what’s your take here yeah flyweight division’s always had this problem where there’s only so many contenders and then once those contenders e have either fought each other or are unavailable at that point you just got to give Whoever has got their hand up the fight and if you look at the flyweight division it’s like well wouldn’t it more sense for him to fight Brandon Moreno but now Moreno’s coming off a loss and basically just retired well what about Brandon royval J kind of already fought Brandon royval well what about you know Amir Al bonsing you can’t do that one Kar France you know like I think there’s better fights potentially for Pantoja but ERS is the guy ‘s the guy he’s on a technically I don’t even know if it’s technically but he’s on an 11 fight winning streak right the weird thing about that is that he’s on an 11 fight pro winning streak but he lost an amateur fight in 2019 while he was already a 5 in one pro and that’s his last loss so he’s only on a seven fight winning streak since that amateur loss that I don’t quite understand why they would let a five in1 Pro compete in an amateur tournament uh the gamma tournament over in Singapore but he end up losing to Dennis bondar in the finals it’s I can’t find any tape of that but from like people’s recollection or the vague few things that you can read up on it and just got overpowered maybe got taken down by bondar a bit since then he’s on a nice little winning streak and I like her he’s kind of guy super blue collar he’s got a hell of a chin but you see his chin on display on all these fights David dvorac nailed him C nailed him guys’s gritty guys come forward he’s not super high volume but he’s willing to fight you within the pocket and has decent volume has decent grappling his decent takedowns taked down defense like it’s all it’s all not bad but he’s just not the top Echelon top of the Heap I’m the guy and again if you look at Demetrius Johnson when he was the long ring Champion he fought everybody he could but he fought Chris Cary asso he fought they made an Ultimate Fighter season for him where they put a bunch of wash aways on it he end up fighting Tim Elliott coming out of that he fought Wilson haaste he fought a bunch of guys that were just whoever was available toy ‘s kind of that it’s a decent line considering that panto is like the fifth biggest favorite on the card and you’ve got a legitimate Champion that’s shown that you can fight five rounds coming off wins over Brandon royval and Brandon Moreno the next two best guys in the division both fights that went five rounds so cardio as much as I used to question his cardio back in in the day it’s held up and as much as his striking is not all that good it’s good enough until he can eventually get a hold of you and then wrestle you down and then take your back and that’s one thing ERS really hasn’t faced if you look at his fight with David D’Or he gives a one takedown Costa took him down one time match chanelli knocks out none of these guys are within the top ranked of the division David VOR would be the best one you know maybe a fringe top 15 guy Costo who we’ll talk about a little bit later you know I I like him I like him but it’s not like he’s got a winning record within the UFC at this point um and then matchell well we all know about matchell and match Nell’s durability issues so to go from that to a title fight just seems like a bit of a stretch now Pantoja like I I got to fault him in a lot of areas I don’t think he’s that good of a striker his cardio even though he’s gone five rounds in his last two fights like I think it’s still questionable at times there’s parts of his games that I just really don’t like but he’s very Advanced on the ground and he seems to be able to get his fights into that realm and in many ways we all like to hate on almaine Sterling but Sterling’s the same way his striking is okay it’s not it’s not great it’s okay his wrestling guy wrestled in college but in the UFC just you know it’s good it’s not great it’s just once he does get that one takedown once he does get you in a position where he can snake you and take your back that’s it like some guys can take you down seven times in a round this oral this orbeck guy we’ll talk about later they can take you down seven times but there’s a lot of get up some guys take you down once that’s it those are the guys with tight iron control control is a problem pantoja’s got excellent control uring just doesn’t seem like he’s faced that next thing is is that ERS seems like more of a decision guy yeah he’s coming off a knockout win over matchell but come on come on realistically the option of him just chin checking panoa seemed fairly low him just out wrestling and out grinding Pantoja seemed pretty low and him relying on Pantoja gassing after pantoja’s coming off two better quality wins than this in itself seem fairly low so again panoa is the play Pano is the play and because it’s the main event I know people don’t love this hedging option blew up last week not because I had to ride or die on M Nicol out only because yeah once fig laac lost my second Line’s done once lull top idiot with I think doing good in the first round and then just such a rush to get up with less than 30 seconds on the clock gets re naked choke bad beats I got stuck with the nickola bet on a ride or die and I died this week if you put Pantoja on the top hopefully you’re sitting a little bit better going into the main event you could throw a little feeler on IG if you wanted to but in terms of value in terms of guys that should win more often than not and have a decent enough price tank yet Pantoja is probably a decent money line play this week all right we got Jonathan Martinez taking on Jose Jr Aldo Martinez a minus 150 favorite Aldo can be had for plus 130 although coming over retirement but he has been keeping busy since like you know losing to morab and people will be like oh morabo struck them Mor Rob’s a tough matchup because the entire time that you’re fighting him you’re going like I have to like be careful of this guy constantly shooting takedowns on me and then because you’re constantly thinking about the takedown you keep your hands down and he lands strikes he’s he’s really worked a game that like nobody else can replicate because he sets a pace that like frankly nobody except Mor Rob the machine can really pull off so it’s like I’m not really reading into that too much I like the fact that like Jose Aldo um you know it’s he’s taking on three box or taking on boxing fights since you know his retirement uh Zam brano Jeremy Stevens over in game bread boxing and then uh Espen I don’t know who those other two guys are but the fact that he’s like at least still doing something doesn’t doesn’t seem too bad for him and really what like this is the only bet I’ve actually made on the card before even talking I took him at plus 145 uh yesterday which would be Tuesday um just cuz I was like Martinez been fighting a lot of these you know Apex cards in front of nobody it’s like this is a a lot of pressure taking on a Brazilian Legend I mean it’s it’s narrative Nation 100% if I’m wrong I’m wrong like Martinez is a guy I’ve actually been backing in a lot of spots as the underdog um but it’s a lot of pressure you’re coming into Brazil strange country strange food strange uh environment entirely and when you’re walking into that cage if you’re not like psychologically ready or you don’t Thrive for that stuff like people are going to be you know screaming you shall die like the the Brazilian crowds are intimidating probably for the best of people I haven’t seen anything from Jonathan Martinez to lead me believe that like that he’s ready for that I don’t know he may just come out here like he could totally win a striking match up here um you know although it’s not not always the highest volume by any stretch of the imagination but I just thought it was a tough ask for Martinez to be taking on a Brazilian Legend in Aldo um obviously the weigh-ins are going to be important Aldo you know coming off of retirement it is a bit of a question mark coming down to 135 it’s always been a tough way cut to 135 for him he looks like pretty like skin and bones for sure but I had to take a shot on the returning former champ what about you okay so that goes back to narrative nation and and why fighting in Brazil is tough is that Jose Aldo doesn’t necessarily need to win in the fight as much as he needs to have moments in the rounds and the crowd’s going to be hot for him and the judges are hot for him and as much as I think Jonathan Martinez probably just outv volumes him and should win the fight on a points decision uh it’s Jose Aldo like if you’re a judge you’ve been around the game for so long you know everybody knows him then you’re a fan of him he’s still only 37 it’s not like he’s a 40-year-old you know taking one last shot at it as you mentioned he’s been boxing he’s still only 37 you you know there’s guys older than him in the division still cutting it so why can’t he just keep this thing competitive and then again you cheer for him you root form Aldo’s back the king of Rio is back and then that persuades the judges so yeah he’s in it and in many ways that resembles kind of he legitimately just beat Rob font don’t get me wrong but but in many ways that’s how I think this fight likely goes down is that the Rob font fight um Aldo gets out struck pretty much every single round against Rob font he gets outstruck overall one 49 to 86 but font’s got the jab going font’s got the leg kicks going font’s faster than him font’s sharper than him and then he would just crank Fawn with one shot drop him score two clean knockdowns over Fawn and if he didn’t knock knock him down he stanky legged him and even though he’s getting out worked and he’s getting out volume he’s getting out hustled his ability to have those singular moments within the rounds is what wins in the rounds what’s wins him the fight it’s a five round fight and he wins 5045 I think Saul might have scored one round the other way but all Bea so can you do that again well that’s a couple years ago now and font durable don’t get me wrong but yeah not a great chin Jonathan Martinez same thing if you look at his loss to Davey Grant he’s doing good in the first round second round he just gets straight up chin check little bit problematic his fight with Alejandro Perez watch that one back he’s having a great first round right it might have been the second round tail end of the round con right into an overhand right stepping in right uh dropped Buzz goes right away away he gets back up it’s not like he gets back up and he wobbles he gets back up and kind of shakes his head like shakes it off but that in Rio with the with the noise and the atmosphere and the heat that it’s just it’s not a great place to be so I’m not sold on Martinez’s durability and his ability to avoid the same fate as Rob font but again I go back to the fact that it was a couple years ago and Aldo for as great as he is when he stepped up to the the Alexander volkanovski fight he had moments against vul and then he got a little tired and the volume just overtakes him he gets out struck 95 to 29 right his fight with Marlo Mari technically he got out struck 59 to 58 his fight with Peter Jan he got out struck 194 to 83 his fight with Marlon Vera he got out struck 46 to 44 his fight with Pedro Muno he outstruck him his fight with Rob fono outstruck and then his last fight with DeVos FY so I think it’s like six of his last seven fights by the Numbers numerically he’s getting out struck Martinez as we know is all volume all the time he’s going to have that speed Advantage he’s going to have that sharpness he’s going to have all those same advantages that Aldo struggled with in the past and he’s going to rely primarily on Aldo’s best weapon this X best weapon this is are the leg kicks demobilize this guy at work him avoid the big shots uh can Martinez be taken down yeah he can but Aldo’s not a wrestler and Aldo’s not going to go to a wrestling based game plan at this stage he’s used it in the past say his fight with Marlin Vera uh where he was able to backpack him in the third round and kind of neutralize him but again I just find it hard to believe and then as for the boxing this is where he loses me is that he loses to deash the Thriller of a fight he rocks devashi early in the first round but again it’s if you if he can’t knock you out then he starts to fatigue and he starts to slow down and volume really becomes his enemy so he’s got to punch his chance in this fight no doubt but once he loses to v f he says you know what I’m going to try this not influencer boxing but just take these [ __ ] MC bullshitter sin boxing matches and get paid good money which is available for him and he gets a Jeremy Stevens celebrity boxing match and he does not look good Manley he looks okay the first two rounds but when Stevens who’s also considered washed and done with MMA and looking for potentially a boxing payday uh hangs around a little too long with him he does the same [ __ ] looks good early and he tails off ends up settling for a draw against Jeremy Stevens again in a flat performance then he takes a couple two shoo Brazil boxing matches um you can’t say he looks better he’s just fighting lesser guys and he gets a couple wins then he takes 10 months off and there’s probably a realization here that I’m not going to get paid three $400,000 $500,000 for a boxing match it just didn’t work out he’s 20 and one hasn’t looked riveting nobody’s got their hand up no no serious boxing promoters got their hand up to sign him for a serious contract and none of these influencer boxing Misfits boxing Logan Paul undercard Jake Paul undercard type [ __ ] is they’re not they’re just they’re just not paying for his Services a next UFC champion at this at this point doesn’t look like it so UFC’s coming to Brazil why not hop on the card I’m not saying he’s chasing a Payday but the UFC will probably give him a $300,000 flat rate if he wins he’s looking at half a million $600,000 plus he’s one of the few guys that can get sponsorships outside of the cage because he’s a big well-known guy so it just makes more sense to take the MMA fight again you’re getting a 10-month layoff from his boxing days he switched to boxing because I just don’t think he had the hard in not the hard in him but just didn’t really want to do MMA anymore and so to think he’s going to come back and have reinvented his ground game or his wrestling or his leg kicks or anything other than his boxing and hopefully catch Martinez who’s potentially a bit chinny outside of that there’s not enough outside of that for me to get behind it so I got I gotta go with Jonathan Martinez but if he was to get cold cocked and knocked out and and and I looked bad yes so be it that’s one of Aldo’s wi conditions Aldo also just having moments and rocking him a few times and squeaking out of tight decision is a win condition sure but I think more likely than not Martinez just out Works him with the volume Works him with the kicks keeps his own boxing pretty technical avoids the ground altogether and uh if the judges get it fair Martinez by decision I’m willing to put a shoy on the line yeah shouey on the line I’m in I’m in uh we going is it a two to one shoy what’s evens I mean it’s okay it’s minus 150 plus 130 yesterday’s plus 145 is gone little bit of actions coming in and I expect probably after the weigh-ins I would probably we’ll see where the market goes but I expect it to get closer to a pick them by fight time so yeah I’m not going to try to weasle anything out of you the only difference will be I’ll be having you know a A shoey or a uh a Seltzer out of a children’s rain boot and you’ll have you know some sort of like hoppy uh whatever whatever it is some hoppy pser out of like a barn boot so that that’s the that’s the minus 150 to plus 130 differentiation to make it a little bit even all right we got vtor patrino taking on and Anon linhardt Smith minus 600 for patrino plus 425 for Smith I we’ve been singing petrino’s uh Praises on this show now the books are like severely doing it as well I think he wins I think you know he physically is so imposing so strong able to do the or able to get takedowns has decent enough striking and he definitely has some pop in his hands when he’s up there as well but like I mean my he’ll be my pick I have no intentions of betting Anthony Smith particularly because like Smith I question his durability after like some of the strikes that Kil rry landed on him and that fight wasn’t all that long ago like that was a pretty pretty devastating uh matchup for him um I I think patrino wins but at minus 600 it’s hard to say there’s really any meat on the bone here what’s your take yeah this one’s a tough one because as we talked about with Jose Aldo it’s like yeah he’s not washed there’s still something there but is it enough with Anthony Smith if there’s still something there if he’s not completely washed I you win this fight man I think he can win this fight and then vtor patrino would be the apple pie [ __ ] of the C coming in at like minus 450 everybody expects him to win but everybody that I’ve heard speak about it or that I’ve spoken to personally about it kind of seems the say the same thing they’re not really reving about vtor Petrino as much as they all think Anthony Smith is completely which is a fair take but again when we look at VOR patrino here’s a guy that’s only 26 years old still super green and he makes a whole lot of mistakes prior to coming to the UFC he had one single notable victory that Rolo bot in his debut then he fights four absolute cans and then he fights ralo bat again on the contender Series so one good win two good wins against one guy uh first time he knocks out bolato fights the bums Contender series fight with bolato he gets rocked man like they’re both just slugging it out head up in the air he ends up knocking bolato again in the rematch gets the win but again defensively he’s not sound is he a Rockham s robots kind of guy I don’t know have to see then he fights Anton trali okay Anton’s 0 and four in the UFC so it’s not by any stretch a quality Victory and in that fight he got taken down five times he got seven takedowns of his own but it was just like a sloppy grappling match where turol had plenty of moments got takedowns couldn’t hold take up top position likewise uh he couldn’t really hold positions on Tali as well so again it was a bit sloppy and all I’m saying is that he’s a good young solid undefeated Prospect but those are not always guys that are ready to challenge for a title tomorrow they’re guys that need work need rounds need to make mistakes and need to learn from it it’s not the biggest solid Victory the marcine prao fight praco is four and five in the UFC Modesta pus mesus kkus is three and four in the UFC these wins over them not to take anything away from them but the medesa fight he lands eight significant strikes through SE almost seven minutes of action six and a half minutes of action he had landed eight significant strikes he looks tired Paul he’s not trying to take modestus down he’s standing with him he’s just bouncing there standing he’s kind of like dare I say ever so slightly getting out work looks flat looks a little bit tired looks a little bit not timid I guess and then the second round boom he gets The Knockout and I remember celebrating super hard because I was like I was not feeling great about how this one was going and it’s not exactly like he’s fighting a creme to the creme type guy then he takes on Tyson Pedro and Tyson Pedro his wins in the UFC because he’s got a little bit better of a UFC record but but take in mind like his wins in the UFC are guys like Harry hunsucker so is Tyson Pedro fight again low ass volume he gets outst struck 30 to 27 you got three takedowns over Pedro and H hit him with 27 significant strikes that’s it so the bolatto fight he’s a rock and sck and robots heavy power heavy calf kick let’s let’s throw down type guy and then since then not really looking to do that he’s looking to get a hold of you and grapple you I wouldn’t say he’s a high level Grappler as much as he’s very physically strong he’s making tons of mistakes tons of positions where he’s getting reversed and then again with Tyson Pedro Pedro loses a decision of all things like who doesn’t finish Pedro if they’re going to beat him but I’ll back up on that he wins like a really shitty decision where super lackluster looked like he was justy to get paid and go home more than put a stamp on it and have a definitive performance and then Pedro just retires afterwards and like yeah MMA is not even for me no more and that was still the type of performance that patrino put up over him so so now I’m thinking this guy is fade material because I’m sure he’s going to be a good fighter in a couple years from now but like any of these undefeated guys is that they they’re looking suspect someone’s going to take advantage it’s just is is Anthony Smith that guy and he’s looking so washed right now that likely not but keep in mind that patrino is fighting the bottom of the barrel and at some point looking exposed and Anthony Smith is fighting the best guys at least to a certain extent hanging hasn’t beat nobody not Ryan span since like three years now so that’s a little bit concerning but his losses are khil rry Johnny Walker magamed an KV can you fault him for that career losses to Alexander rage Glover Tiera Jon Jones Thiago Santos only Los to reputable guys wins over guys that are suspect and I’m almost thinking that vtor patrino is that guy because he’s suspect to me so now let’s break it down more less narrative more actual technical standpoint yeah VOR is a lot stronger than him and the CF kick that’s going to be a very good weapon for him because Smith tends to stand a little heavy on his feet likes using that jab likes using his technical boxing and I would say technically Smith’s a better a a technical kickboxer volume way more volume but if you’re looking for sheer power and damaging blows yeah yeah no patrino he got the ability to knock out Smith standing if he was to land with the big shot he’s also got the ability to just SNP off that that low calf kick and really mess up Smith who we’ve seen struggle with some of the stuff in the past in terms of Smith getting the fight to the ground yeah also v vtor a very physically strong guy so Smith getting his own offensive wrestling going is going to be very difficult so patrino could just kind of spraw and brawl him use that wrestling to keep the fight standing he still needs to catch Smith if he doesn’t catch Smith he’ll get out worked on the numbers by a fair margin because he just doesn’t throw enough if you look at other guys that he’s fought they’re not as good as Smith standing if you look at other guys that he’s wrestled with and grappled with and experience level and talent level and none of are which are Anthony Smith’s levels so this is a huge step up for him he’s knocking on the door of his first loss and they’re trying to feed you him at minus 450 on this card so on a personal level it feels so trappy to me Smith is very likely washed no is can you talk me out of that is Smith completely washed is Smith’s washed and that’s a likely case here then load up on vtor patrino he’s gonna make it look easy but if you’re trying to sniff out guys at high price tags that are that that shouldn’t be that high of a price take he’s he’s Target number one yeah I mean here’s the thing is that you know it’s it’s it’s called the dogger pass show and I’m I’m pulling in my pass card on this one like I have no intention of getting invested at minus 600 on vtor patrino while I think he wins it’s just like yeah the the the last time out there against Tyson Pedro was like big time red flags it’s like this is a guy you’re supposed to be able to gas out you’re supposed to be able to like finish him off late and it’s just like he basically was just able to like get takedowns hold position and and win rounds that way like it was not an impressive still close yeah then you like you go back to like yeah tural fight like I mean against tural he was like a pick him that’s why I like bet him in that spot and that fight was yeah greasy very competitive like I don’t know there’s been definitely red flags all along the way and then now they put a massive price tag next to him it’s just like I think he is Cash in I mean light heavyweight division is a pretty weak division to be perfectly honest so I’m not going to be shocked to see him in that top 10 top five type of situation here coming off of like if he gets this win he’s kind of into that but it’s like I don’t know if it’s this fight I think it’s that next fight and we’re not going to get like minus 600 but like we’ll probably get like it’ll probably be like a minus 300 favor against somebody in the top 10 that’s where we probably fade but who knows I guess I guess we’ll find out on Saturday another big favorite and it’s like uh a capital G guy of mine um okay this Market moved a little bit since I made the actual board but uh on the board it says minus 700 Michelle Pereira ehor P or Pia can be had for plus 500 when I look at it now these markets are always moving especially when you got big favorites like this it’s back to like minus 550 so some some people are taking the shot on ehor P teria obviously we love we have been a uh you know captains of the Michelle Pereira fan base except for you I guess the one time like you really were completely against him was uh when he took on what was trist Connelly just Tristan Connelly and boy oh boy ever since that fight he kind of changed his changed his game entirely started fighting a lot more smart started you know managing his cardio a lot better A lot less jumping off of the cage doing crazy helicopter kicks and stuff like that and just using the actual skills and talent and ability that he actually has poter is stepping into this fight uh for mmud murov uh just going through Twitter looks like the UFC officially announced it on April 18th so that’s basically two weeks um poia missed weight at 185 lounds last time out um this is another fight it’s kind of a c up it’s like haven’t been the biggest fan of poia I like I’ve always like I I frankly I’ve liked uh Pereira a lot better at 185 cuz I think he’s going to be he hasn’t had to show it yet but I think he’s going to be able to have even better cardio cuz he’s not sucking himself you know completely dry to get down there um obviously he’s just been iceing fools in uh in his first two middleweight fights so far since moving up I think he wins I think he wins probably by knockout but um again it’s a it’s a chalk piece that I feel like it’s just this numbers out of hand won’t be pulling the trigger on ehore but um but yeah Pere is the pick it’s kind of another cop out but like there’s a multiple fights on this card that’s like I don’t really I I understand why the the the underdog is a m a big Underdog I just think that like there’s really no quote unquote value on the current money lines so Pereira for me but buyer beware yeah I I can’t fault you on the last one because I totally agree I totally agree it’s like I want to just pass on vtor patrino at this line which it’s tough to do on the show but I’m also not an insane person who bets Anthony Smith in 2024 so such a tight spot this one I don’t see it I think you got to roll the dice here and go with Pereira the rightful favorite eor p uh petrera it’s not like it’s not like podera is is terrible I know that the knock on him was here’s a guy that’s really just Cannon fod and he’s beaten a lot of low-level guys and then he beat an age shun and danced on him and after that it was just like nobody likes the guy but him at 185 is the weight class he should be at and his last time out we actually backed him against that Robert birek guy who’s a total fraud you look at his record super fraudulent and when you got Piller out a plus 140 Underdog over a guy that’s terrible yeah for sure let’s take it but outside of that I just don’t see enough out of him he’s got good head movement he’s a guy that’s going to come forward try to fight you in the pocket make you difficult for you to hit him and just try to return fire his win condition is hitting you hitting you early and likely knocking you out yeah wins over bur by decision but um a fight that he took on short notice and misses weight and now this fight taking it on short notice and yeah I don’t know coming down from 205 if he can even make 185 but if he does I know he was supposed to fight like a month from now if he does shortens up his Camp doesn’t make the weight even if he does make it but it’s close I think he’s going to be one of these gut round round and a half guys in him come at you seven and a half minutes if he can land that kill shot great if not not so much his loss is Nikolai neeranu right as long as as soon as [ __ ] Maran who was able to just Tire him out he gets sloppy he gets desperate all of a sudden the shots start connecting he folds over his fight with Carlos olberg he never even got tired because two minutes into the first round he’s just knocked out by the superior Striker his fight with Rolo Bato Bato that same guy that was playing Rock him suum robots with VOR patrino and has two knock knockout losses to him um yeah it looked like he had a better gas tank than bolato But ultimately he tried to play rock and S and robots with him and got caught and got knocked out and then misses weight and beats a frost Robert BJ and now he’s back now people are backing him like I don’t know man I don’t think he’s reinvented at 185 by no means no I I just the there’s money coming in on them the line’s not super crazy I don’t think no I think probably what really happened here to be perfectly honest is like we’ve been taking the lines from BET online recently just cuz like that tends to be like you know the sharpest Market moves and stuff from my experience of like watching these markets for the last like 15 years and I think probably what ended up happening is people are like arbing Arbitrage so like somebody else probably had um yeah they’re taking like arbing arbing positions I would imagine is what happened there there’s probably yeah when it was up plus 550 there’s books that probably had like plus 500 so people are banging both lines they’re taking the minus 500 and the plus 500 or plus 5 50 if you bet it’s real nerd stuff you you you know what ARB is Right Cody yeah no all all all good just to just just just to go into the fight and just finish this one off real quick for you Paul uh again it’s like eor is just one of these win condition quick knockout guys I don’t see see a whole lot of substance out of him the ground game I don’t think’s all that good the cardio is not all that good the durability is not all that good if he’s matched up with a lower level type guy he can win if not pra takes over PR meanwhile he’s 8-2 in the UFC and there’s a strong ass argument that he could be easily 10-0 which fight has he ever really lost so he wins his first like two fights crazy Knockouts the loss to Tristan connley you’re right huge he was a minus 500 favorite over Tristan connley here’s why we bet against him right so the fight was in Vancouver Canada where Tristan Conn is from Vancouver Canada runs a gym over there huge fan favorite he flew by himself with no cornerman no coach from Brazil to the States to Canada by himself had a terrible weight cut missed weight by 2 pounds and then start doing back flips and [ __ ] on the way to the ring started out hot fire completely gased ever since that fight he’s been a different guy the books and all that people will tell you he lost his next fight to Diego Sanchez but really he’s kicking the absolute crap out of Diego Sanchez and then gets himself disqualified to do an illegal neede to the head was otherwise a pretty good performance and then you’re seeing a run of these decisions well he submit Lee mad he takes chaos Williams to decision NCO price to decision Andre F to decision Santiago ponzano to decision it’s like oh man what happened to the craziness what happened to that spark but he’s showing well-roundedness the guy can wrestle the guy can grapple the guy can dare I say pace himself the explosiveness is still there it’s just explosiveness and crazy theatrics will only take you so far and he’s young enough shockingly young still considering the amount of experience he has he’s shockingly young enough that he’s a Ed his style to become more of a winning style but along the way guy’s way too big for 170 so you see him flirt with the idea of going up to 185 his fight with Andre patoski first round knockout his fight against uh mikyo first round submission and a fight that he just Cooks him to the body and then submits him with the first- round re nak choke you’re seeing this guy start to Ender his prime now and a weight class that’s probably well more suited to him middleweights kind of a stick in the mud division there’s not like a whole lot of contenders and the guys are a lot slower so a welterweight coming up with his type of athleticism and type of speed being able to carry over that power he can wrestle he can grapple and he’s shown that he’s been able to fight 15 minutes he’s a problem yeah 8 and2 in the UFC again guy could be 10 and0 in the UFC so he’s done everything right he’s developed himself he’s putting his skills together and for eagor potier to Chin him and knock him out like well who’s done that and he’s F some heavy punchers chaos Williams Santiago ponono SK like a crack zimma madv is is his opponent GNA take him down and submitted like no chance is his opponent going to outlast him in a gritty fight to the last minute type of fight probably also not in Brazil gotta go with Pereira I know he’s the big favorite I I get it I get it but I agree with why he’s the big favorite so I understand why he’s a big fa are you GNA be stunned if like he goes I’ve got I’m on a sevenlight winning streak now time to do some of the crazy stuff again entertain these these fans inside of my home country wouldn’t be shocked wouldn’t be shocked to see him like you know revert back to like there was a perod there was a period of time where people were like they should cut this guy what a loser it’s just like you know some of us take receipts on that it’s like everyone wanted him to be like completely gone there like oh he’s a total goof it’s just like no he’s an Entertainer can I answer that question for you I wouldn’t be shocked to see him like you know mess around a little bit you know fool around a little bit in this spot yeah okay to to your question right he he’s like give me a big fight give me a big fight I want to do the craziness I want to show you my best they book him against Wonder Boy he’s begging for the fight book him against Wonderboy he misses weight at 174 Wonderboy is like nope I’ve done this before declines to fight him fights off pray is super sour doesn’t get paid super sour and then he decides going to 185 so the fight with Andre Petroski it’s done in a minute and did you see crazy theatrics not necessarily but he got a $50,000 uh performance bonus after that fight and then his very next fight against Mikey o he gets a $50,000 performance bonus for a first round submission so he just cashed two back toback bonuses he’s still thrilling he’s still exciting I I get what you’re saying could he go over the over the edge I don’t know I think he’s found his happy medium where he can do certain things but not have to over rely on it so what I would think is it’s like I bop this guy and he does a stanky leg and he’s up against the cage then you coming in with a flying knee you’re coming in with a spinning wheel kick you’re coming in with a matrix kick off the cage something stupid but Rock them first don’t just let this be the strike you got to set it up man you got to set traps you got to use your footwork you got to use the wrestling you got to make him think every time [ __ ] he’s going to take me down drop those hands make him work him to the body just like you did in your last fight cause him to drop those hands cause him to think the threat of the takedown and then blast him in the face with some crazy [ __ ] but set it up is all I’m saying I think he’s getting to that point all right we got Kyle baralo taking on Paul beju craigus 600 for Kyo baralo plus 425 for Paul Craig who you got I mean you can’t ever like fully write off Paul Craig because he’s a right place right time kind of guy but yeah I think you got to write off Paul Craig which we normally always do it’s just like we’re not always right he’s like a Ronnie Yaya shouldn’t win usually doesn’t win he usually does win he just capable of pulling off some magic and out of his hat the thing is is when you look at those legendary and I do mean legendary wins he gets a maged ankal who I believe was it anali’s UFC debut uh it’s anv’s UFC debut another one of these young upand cominging hot undefeated prospects who’s in for that lesson relying combat he was relying solely on combat [ __ ] at the time he Subs ank live in his UFC debut good time to beat him you know legendary win over Jamal Hill legendary Jamal Hill is a blue belt at the time you know to fight that otherwise he’s not winning just like all of his fights he’s losing till he hits that magic his fight with Nikita krylo a guy that’s winning till he’s not the fight with Andre munise I mean munise is just kind of another one of these guys that has no cardio and and no will to fight Beyond getting a quick submission so I like I’m not [ __ ] on him because he has legendary wins but at the end of the day it’s like he just does have no striking to fall back on defensively he’s not sound doesn’t move his head you hit him he’s wobbled by everything it’s like every punch that L seems to draw reaction out of it’s a bad place to be durability I don’t think anybody’s going to argue with me on this one just doesn’t got great durability the body language of a lot of these exchanges not great terms of his wrestling it’s not good he hits his knees at every takedown attempt like he drops down to his knees puts you up against the cage and just tries to drag you down it’s like when you the most basic of things is like don’t drop your knees to the canvas when you’re trying to get these takedowns but he’s not necessarily trying to take you down with technique it’s just muscle a a scramble create some type of scramble where you might fall on top of him he might fall to the side of you he might be able to hit a duck under and slip up to your back that’s all he’s relying on his ability to snatch up crazy stuff like triangle chokes and and you know fish for leg locks and stuff like that off his back that’s fine and dandy but again you’re going to get to a certain point where it’s not a debuting maged analiia five years ago it’s not a blue belt level Jamal Hill years and years ago eventually these guys are just going to pass guard on you and punch your face in and it’s to what level are you going to get at Ko Bara got him beat absolutely everywhere he’s got a far better gas tank got far better durability even though his striking a super low volume that’s a knock on him it’s not like it’s any lower volume than Paul Craig and it’s way tighter doesn’t have a ton of power but way more than Paul Craig and enough power to take Paul Craig out his jiujitsu meanwhile is his bre bread and butter far better wrestler than Paul Craig if Craig shoots on him he’s not getting him down like KO either sprawls him out and ends up on top or KO just pushes him out of the way and moves off if KO takes um him down do you really think Paul Craig’s going to throw up that magic that sweet stuff do you think he’s really got that little bit left in him I’m leaning towards yeah he could he could try but in throwing up your legs in fishing for the leg lock you’re going up against the best Grappler you fought quite some time a guy that’s likely just going to stop all of your attempts and put an absolute beating on you and high level BJJ blackb like I just don’t know that Paul Craig is subbing that guy and if he doesn’t sub that guy and he’s going for these moves he’s leaving himself open if you don’t get the the triangle choke you’re getting your guard passed if you don’t get the leg locked you’re getting your fat punched in and that that is his problem and when he does fight guys that it’s like okay well this guy’s actually a good Grappler you know like like Brighton Allen his last time out like he has absolutely zero success with his own grappling not to say he can’t bust out some magic the Magic’s always going to be there for him but you can’t rely on it especially as you get older and you take more damage and you take more blows and the drop down to 85 do dope move dope move but is it too late in his career I don’t know and career wins over some of the best guys at 205 but at 185 again like is is this his new home or was he just able to take advantage of a weak division back when he was in it again I’m not trying to take anything away from him because he’s he’s he’s like one him and potentially Derrick Lewis two of the biggest overachievers in UFC history they’re making something out of virtually nothing I can’t I can’t Overlook the fact that there’s not a whole lot there so uh I think I think KO just stuffs him similar to the way that Brendan Allen was able to just neutralize him and then start racking up some damage and take advantage on he tires yeah I would have been more inclined to take Paul Craig if I hadn’t seen Abus magedov fight where it’s just like Kyle usually gets takedowns holds top position rinse repeat um obviously has some submission skills but you know he’s taken guys way lower level than Paul Craig at least in terms of Jiu-Jitsu capabilities all the way to decisions so um I feel like Kyo showed us yeah go ahead I said uh Kyo showed us like last time out against abis magedov that like that he can win that fight too and like you know at the end it’s never exciting with him like he’s pretty pretty methodical boring but it’s like I feel like particularly early in this fight he’s not going to put himself in a position we’re going to end up in in Paul Paul Craig’s you know guard and potentially get trapped in something um it probably be a little bit more slow paced a little bit you know boring potentially but uh yeah Kyle I think wins and maybe by decision what’s what’s the prop on that um I know he did knock down abis once though so maybe knock out is in play but yeah I thinking I’m thinking he knocks him out I’m thinking he just stuffs him and gets on top of him and puts a beating on that’s my personal take the the the magam fight great example that you brought up is that he likely maybe he loses that first round with magov but he does a great job of just allowing magov to burn himself out and then turns up the Jets two and three like he’s got that cardio and that ability to adapt so borrowing a Paul Craig quick submission like I think I think there’s only so much you can have a guy on half guard passing to mount you know ground impounding you softening you up taking your back like cow’s got a nasty back take like it’s all in play so I would take a shoey bet with you if you want to take a fight goes the distance but I’m my guessing is that fight goes the distance is plus money so I wouldn’t doubt you to just pass on that one yeah it’s almost two to one no I’m not I’m not taking a shoey bet on that um yeah Paul Craig’s durability D I mean I feel like if Paul Craig wins it was like it would be the submission he opens up a can of magic beans again but like that’s even like nine to one it’s like is it a 10% 12% outcome probably like I don’t know if there’s much that gets me too excited about this one we’ll see where uh the other prop markets open up but yeah no for me like Kyle by H who knows either way you know me it’s like I don’t play many of these like Min I you you have the PRP and you do that but it’s like I don’t spam too much of this like super super Chalk in like the last three fights we’ve talked about minus 600 minus 550 and minus 600 just doesn’t get uh unless I really like the underdog which I see the reason for all of these guys to be the underdog it tends to be a pass um from a betting perspective for me this show is sponsored by better help we all carry around different stressors big and burrito taking on Jack Shore minus 170 for Burrito Plus 145 for Jack Shore here’s the thing Cody I feel like Jack sha you know he used to fight at 135 a fight against burrito I think he’s just given up it’s kind of like when the one loss that he has on his career Ricky Simon right giving up lots of physicality I feel like his style his ability this is these are the kind of body frames kind of you know Powerhouse guys that are going to cause them problems I think burrito is the rightful favorite here I wouldn’t even be shocked by like burrito sub like Jack Shore being Reckless going in and just getting caught in a guillotine or something what’s your take here yeah yeah I can agree with you so joannis Breo is a Powerhouse against anybody at 145 pounds he’s just got that Reckless physicality and whereas I do wonder is he just going to gas out on me because he can’t keep that pace going is not really given any real indication if you look at this fight with Diego Lopez technical decision on the contender series but he looked good to those two rounds before it got called off his fight with Jonathan Pierce’s last time out I mean he’s T got taken down he’s get beat up a little bit tied is starting to turn and yeah he fights through it so with breedo I think if he can carry it for two rounds and you can’t finish him in the third which would be very difficult to do uh he’s going to win especially at home in Brazil That’s all about 145 Jack shord not that I don’t like him I used to rate this guy I thought he was going to be a decent Prospect look good against Aaron Phillips look good against hun Hunter didn’t even look great against Hunter AER it’s a split decision but him getting those takedowns against a guy that’s a very strong wrestler in Asia shows that he’s another one of these guys like uh Brett JNS from pfl Bellator uh solid Welsh fighter good durability uh good scrappiness to him can wrestle can grapple can strike but is more of a well-rounded guy more of a generalist Ludovic sh shelan puts up great numbers in that fight teor valv quality win tight fight couple knockdowns on volv is what steals it for Jack Shaw and that in itself saw well in Dandy gets absolutely thrown around by Ricky Simone and there in Line’s the problem to me is that he just got tossed around by Ricky Simone effortlessly at 135 pounds all his fights are at 135 pounds then he take some time off he regroups himself he does move to 145 for his last fight against mwan mirani but he didn’t look great in the first round mawan gasses which mawan tends to do ma Juan’s now released from the promotion lost on the regional scene and has retired take it for what it’s worth but Shore beats him in like good but not great fight at 145 and then takes I don’t know 10 months off since then so Mac one’s fought since and retired all in that time frame so sh’s not Super Active I don’t think he’s got really other than his feet sort of wet at 145 I don’t think he’s a massive long-term threat at 145 he already struggled with with that that pH strength and physicality at bantamweight no reason to believe that Joe Anderson who’s already massively strong isn’t going to just toss him around so sh’s got a good chin on him but again burrito’s going to be Landing those bigger more damaging more wowing more impactful blows that the judges like if burito wants to take Jack Shore down I think he just muscles them to the ground and Sha’s game plan of just sticking on him and being tenacious which these Welsh Fighters will do just just absolutely going after him and being a you know a dog on the bone fair but against a fellow dog in Brazil the first two rounds are going to be an uphill battle and then the third round that tactic might pay off but you’re already up shits Creek by that point so I got to agree as well with the the favorite and go with joanis and burito all right we got Yasmin lucendo taking on kolina kovich lucendo is a minus 400 favorite kovich can be had for plus 330 who you got yeah so you need to squeeze in some dogs at some points but this one feels like I’m just forcing it like Carolina would be definitely dog money I think Pat Mayo would agree with me on that and I think when you’re offering this kind of price on a girl that’s on a four-fight winning streak looks I wouldn’t say reinvented she’s 38 years old pretty much done at this point but for fo winning streak and she’s a Savvy veteran so knows what to do in order to win Yasmin lendo is quite the opposite she’s 22 years old she’s just very uh young in the game so far one loss so far as their debut against Yasmin jeru outside of that looked good against Broan Walker look good against paan Viana but that’s super lowlevel competition Paul kolina is a former World title CH or Challenger yeah fought for the title fought all of the best girls within the division has that vet that veteran Savvy presence so at this kind of money line why not take that little shot on the underdog but then you look at the tape and it’s like lucendo is the future and Carolina’s the past like Luc sendo’s way faster than her and just sharper than her physically strong I think has the wrestling advantage and can take Carolina down and Carolina at some point is going to have one of those goose egg performances where people think oh geez she looked old in that fight she’s done it before and then she made a big comeback some point she runs into that that next wave that that next type of hungry young lioness and that’s what I think she’s running into with Lucinda uh karolina’s last couple wins Diana Bela who’s expressed interest in potentially not fighting anymore Vanessa Deus who’s just despite having wins in the UFC there always garbage decision wins that she should not have had it’s not it’s not someone you rank Silva Gomez Warez not someone you rank F Harry been retired for years dope that she’s won four fights in a row due to proper matchmaking now now you need that younger generation to get the rub off the big name veteran and that’s what you’re getting here so gotta go lendo do I like this line o whs MMA ah you know it’s going to be close it’s going to be competitive going to be competitive enough but young hot Brazilian Prospect in Brazil who’s got legitimate skills and is on her way up I don’t want to go against it so I’m gonna back it in this instance yeah I I Echo a lot of the same sentiments is you my biggest problem with kolina and like I backed her against Bel and sure she put up the volume my biggest red flag that I got out of that match I’ve been backing actually kolina in a lot of her most Rec fights um she kind of turned the corner but the biggest red flag there is like Bel got two takedowns on her I think uh lucendo is able to get takedowns here at will kind of whenever she wants and she showed you know she got grappling skills by submitting uh via last time out as well which is a pretty impressive Victory I think lucendo can win on the feat but yeah mix in those takedowns and don’t don’t get don’t let yourself get over volumed I think she’s the rightful favorite as much as it pains me as much as I considered betting karolina um I think the the winning streak comes to an end in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night all right we got MC chebec orobi taking on Elvis brener minus 250 for or oral by plus 210 for brener oral by you know last time out fighting Euros medich at 170 pounds I mean he was looking pretty strong for a welterweight now he’s coming down to lightweight I guess watch the weigh-ins and all that but it’s like there’s like previous fights he came in at like 167 so it’s like obviously the move to 155 is in play at 155 this guy is going to be absolute like an absolute Powerhouse so strong um it you know Elvis brener shows that he’s got the you know hashtag dog in him um obviously pretty well-rounded and and just never really gives up and it’s got some you know dangerous striking and all of that grappling trains with uh Charles Ola so obviously the grapplings in play are there question marks potentially about orobay and like what happens if he gets into a tight spot potentially but it’s like I expect this guy to be super super strong um so I think he’s rightful favorite at minus 250 um I think he’ll get the takedowns against Elvis kind of whenever he wants them just mind your p’s and q’s don’t end up you know in any any triangles or anything like that but I’m sure he’s prepared like with his style it’s like you must be you must be practicing that with uh W with the whole crew down at Team Alpha Male so oroi what about you yeah no I’m gonna go with Elvis brener so again who’s going to [ __ ] in the apple pie this week so I’m G to do it and I think orob would be one of these guys not that I don’t like him is that brener this is what brener does he’s a he’s a set specialist keep in mind brener comes in UFC debut against Zuber tuuga right by the Numbers he’s a plus 470 Underdog against Zuber duug and he took that fight in uh Perth Australia as part of makev volovski right big spot comes in plus 470 Underdog he stuffs all of T Hugo’s takedowns toov went 0 for four a superior dtin wrestler who kab went to bat for hard like his boy and he went for four on takedowns brener brener edges him out tight fight close fight Split Decision win for brener cashes as a plus 470 Underdog very next fight he takes on guram kites who no one’s signing up to fight nobody wants to fight and would you know it he comes in as a plus 475 Underdog against guram as well goes um mostly stuffs guram take Downs takes guram down two three times has a whole lot of grappling success has a whole lot of striking success avoids the big shots does excellent job great count of himself against the biggest lightweight in the division had more wrestling success in Pockets than much better guys have done against guram in the past solid win huge Win Second straight big underdog win then they give him an actual winnable fight his last time out against that uh kuski and uh he looks the part knocks him out the first round looks great solid power in his hands only 26 years old as Paul mentioned trains at do Broncos gym with Charles Oliva he’s one of these young hot Brazilian kids in a good Camp good submission defense good grind has fought in Russia he fought in Russia one of his losses but he’s 22 years old fighting the 32y old Russian in Russia one of his losses willing to step up willing to fight good guys and getting better so now you got a three-fight winning streak you all that good stuff little bit worried that Oro is coming down to 155 from 170 and that he’s going to be a physical beast but problematic for that is that he hasn’t made 155 in 3 years he’s also only 26 years old so you don’t know that this weight Cut’s going to go smooth but orabi is all physical power physical power physical power if he has a bad weight cut or even you know a mediocre weight cut being able to just repeatedly take a guy down is going to be problematic Euros medage he’s ragd dolling him but medish keeps just getting back up and he starts to look tired then he finishes him but if he doesn’t finish him and he has to do it for two or three more rounds what’s he going to score 20 takedowns he scored seven takedowns in six minutes was he going to be able to keep up that pace one’s got to wonder meanwhile you look at El brener well he has been ragged All Around by big guys he’s been in there with the gamut with better Grapplers better wrestlers um and his taked down defense has stood up his ability to scramble and get back up has been pretty good and standup wise he’s got Arabi all day like people will tell you he look great against Euros medage seven takedowns this and that I agree he had eight significant strikes landed like there’s nothing much more than the wrestling and we see time and time again that the judges are not necessarily looking at the wrestling they’re looking for the damage they’re looking for the strikes bren’s got him beat in those aspects all day long now you factor the fights in Brazil if the if the fans are silent while Ori takes them down 10 times that’s fair but when as soon as brener starts the round standing or scrambles back up to his feet or lands a few shots they’re going to be going wild for him could be tight could be contentious could be another Split Decision I don’t give a [ __ ] brener is live live for all those reasons and you add this plus money that looks juicy I think he I think he’d be one of your dogs to Target this week so I’m going with brener big call Big call from Cody All Right Moving On Down we’ve got John Silva taking on William Gomez minus 120 for Silva plus 100 for Gomez action has came in on on Gomez in the last like 24 hours quite a bit he was like up to like plus 150 in some spots so yeah interesting uh interesting to say the least who you got here buddy yeah so this is another tight fight that like you could see it uh you could see it being close you could be see it being competitive I had to end up going with slight sorry let me just see where I have my notes okay yeah if this fight takes place anywhere else I think Gomez might win Gomez is one of these guys that’s super Fleet footed like he’s not looking to stand in the pocket he’s not looking to exchange he’s not looking to chase a $50,000 bonus like he’s very in and out he’s very lateral makes you chase him around so in his first fight against yarno aand he mixes in a few takedowns of his own it’s really not that great of a fight in fact he almost loses it on a triangle but he beats him sure not a great performance his next fight against Francis Marshall again not great gives up a couple takedown uh his striking is low volume because he’s not throwing in combination he’s throwing one at a time and he’s darting in and out and then his last time out against G Moody he’s just no good so you can beat a guy like that all day so in in retrospect really there’s not a whole lot that I love about him but when you watch the fights he’s fighting like a smart style of just not really overly engaging not taking a whole lot of risks and using just a speed advantage to come in and out of the pocket touch you up once leave not like a poor man’s Wonderboy Thompson or nothing but similar type idea just don’t be there for the counter don’t be mix in a few takedowns even in the mix so there’s things that I do like about Gomez and on a point base fight I think he can win two of the three rounds but in Brazil again it’s another one of these spots where he’s not land other than his last fight where he’s taking on a punching bag he’s not Landing big blows he’s not Landing damaging blows and he not really looking to engage so the fans are not going to like him they’re going to be booing him they’re going to be hot for his opponent who’s the local Brazilian guy and with Jean Silva like I would think that he does have better grappling he is physically stronger the wrestling I would give him maybe a slight nod at the very least maybe just call it even if Gomez does take him down I think Jean Silva gets back up is that Jean Silva is more of a brawler you know he’s not that he’s a bad Striker he’s a good Striker but I think if Gomez just Minds his P’s and qes and just hits him with Jabs and front kicks and leads Dodge it’s going to be an effective style against him so Jean’s got to cut off the ring he’s got to chase him down he’s got to make the shots that he does land be impactful if you can grab a hold of him and try to slow it down great but again Gomez’s wrestling is not terrible it’s a path of Victory sure for John Silva but more so than that you’re going to have to cut the cage off and hit this guy have the crowd be behind you so I think it goes 15 minutes I think it’s a decision type fight hit the over on it I think it’s competitive but I think it’s a competitive fight that hopefully Silva does the more damaging shots the bigger shots the judge is like the hometown guy and they give it for him but all of those reasons to me feel greasy so a smart guy would just pass all together but you know if you want to be a degenerate you want to pull the trigger on some I think that Hometown Advantage does help out Silva and uh he ends up getting the win yeah uh Gomez’s Style Just is n very F fan friendly and I mean they they fought over in France and like the fans were kind of like like they were they weren’t even really backing their own guy there I feel like you summed it up pretty well it’s like the more impactful exciting moments I think will be John Silva I expect this fight to be you know highly entertaining and or at least from Silva’s side I expect him to be like you know going for the Finish whereas Gomez Minds his p’s and q’s you know counter strikes and I think in front of this crowd that’s where the the slight Edge will go so I don’t really agree with I mean skill for skill if this fight’s in the Apex at this or at especially at like the plus 150 for Gomez yesterday like I would have definitely be interested in that but uh as it gets closer to a pick them now I got to go with uh with the Brazilian as well all right we got dra dra car close taking on wae Silva dra close is a minus 170 favorite wae Silva can be had for plus 150 who you got yeah I feel like jakar close just levels above him and just makes this look easy but I guess we’ll have to wait and see but jakar close jakar close all day but to Yokem Silva’s credit is that he does look half reinvented I suppose but yeah he’s 35 36 years old I believe so not exactly a spring chicken and if you go back to when Vince Michelle beat him his fight with Jared Gordon he does get the win but he took a whole lot of damage in that fight Nazar hackr knocks him out Ricky Glenn knocks him out it’s like a shock that he’s not released from the promotion truth be told does not look like he belongs he was considered old back then it’s just not for him and then blast out Jesse Ronson which definitely aged well considering Ronson’s kick its a mass on the regional scene the Arman serukan fight he made to the third round and he rocks serukan in that second like landed probably the best shot anybody’s landed on Armen so give him some credit there and then coming over a gut check not great but a gut check type fight against Klay Guido where he dug deep when he you too late in that third round and secures the tight decision Victory so it’s not like in any of his last three fights he’s been massively outclassed it’s that I I I think he’s still just a punchers chance kind of guy he’s got big Power he’s a heavy hitting Brazilian guy he does have durability issues Ricky Glenn takes him out less than a minute that’s problematic um Nazar hack cross doesn’t really finish a whole lot of guys losing to him inside the distance a little bit problematic I think that wild Reckless hits you you’re going down but in being Wild Reckless he leaves himself just way too open now jakar close again another guy that’s not Young by any stretch he’s also I think 35 36 years old and there’s been weird stuff he’s going to fight Jeremy Stevens he gets pushed he’s got whiplash he takes some time off he’s been super inactive he does not fight very often and again it’s like he’s just getting older and older but he’s not taking a ton of in ring damage and then when he physically does show up I mean he been looking good he hadn’t fought anybody in a year and a half before his last fight Joe seli and I don’t know was a weird way to win a fight I suppose get mostly out grappled and then slam the guy and knock him out but you see him take advantage of those moments he’s got power for a guy that’s got a ton of decisions his fight with Brandon Jenkins much of the same his fight with benil darush he loses watchback die fight he damn near knocks out benil derush he got a whole lot of decision wins on his record I get that but he cracks enough to knock out yoim Silva terms of the wrestling and the grappling I think close has got better wrestling and grappling could yoim out musle him in the first round have a bit of success maybe like SEI did and just tie him up and maybe maybe but Co will do the same thing he’ll bite his time he’ll wait he’ll explode he’ll get back up and he’s going to stick in your face and put on heat when you were a a heavy-hitting Brazilian brawler you like that opponent being at distance a little bit so you can take a breath take a breath wind up and uncork with that big tight blow or that big long range blow in tight quarters against a pressure type fighter who’s got a good gas tank he’s got good durability it’s a Savvy veteran got bigger winds on his resume yeah then I think just J car close at minus 170 I like it against he’s mixed it up with the better level of competition he’s got a win over Bobby green a win over Marc di Casey Christ giago is my boy but that’s not a great win I suppose a win over half of Garcia all that’s really not that bad man yo Keem Banger we love him but yes his wins are Jessie Ronson no longer with the organization Klay Guida I think he’s on the edge of retirement Jared Gordon not sure what he’s up to but that’s probably his most quality win and then res madadi a guy that stole purse Andrew hallbrook narino malagari like he shorten those wins those those significant wins that aged well so they’re both in that later stage of their career but yo keem’s had all these bangers and these wars and these tough fights whereas close has been on the sidelines nursing injuries he’s fresher on fight miles and I think that’ll play dividends come Saturday so late stoppage close is what I would look at even like a third round finish if you want to chase something greasy at plus money I think close just breaks them down systematically and then takes them out late yeah I could see that um yeah wae Silva’s seems pretty pretty like knockout or bust in general um obviously he pulled off the decision win against celay gued the last time out but it’s like that’s clay weeda long in the tooth way past his Prime in like relatively competitive fight in like you know coming off of like a lot of people like thought he was going to absolutely kill clay there and it’s just like that fight was way too close for comfort um yeah close Lade or or by decision is how I see it I think the volume adds up I think he’s able to get takedown stay out of trouble early but it’s like at the end of the day the only time you know outside of the Jeremy Stevens push that uh put him on the shelf for a year uh the only time anybody’s actually knocked him out was was benil darush and benil darush is a top five a top five guy in this division for like many many years so massive massive Step Up in competition there and uh that’s where he failed obviously the most but should be able to yeah mind PS and q’s obviously Silva is a little bit dangerous but if you avoid those big shots early on you should be able to definitely take over late uh Mauricio Huffy takes on Jamie Malarkey minus 190 for ruffy plus 165 for malarkey Australian wrestler going into Brazil take on a you know a knockout specialist in Brazil I don’t know I it’s tough to trust Jamie Malarkey particularly like even when he does have success that Chin’s a question mark big time so it’s roughy by knockout for me what about you yeah I’m going to agree so this one’s pretty straightforward uh Jamie malar is just not a durable Guy this is the course of his career all of his losses he lost to Alexander volkanovski back in the day I won’t fault him for that but he got knocked out in the first round then he lost his very next fight to a guy named Luke kabig the guy was five wins six losses and a draw and he got knocked out in that fight too he his fight with Brad Riddell didn’t get knocked out Took a ton of damage fight with raham his wrestling bails him out but you can see when he’s getting hit in there it’s like it’s only just like a matter of time knocked out by Jaylen Turner nasty knock out his fight was neov he’s a minus 600 favorite looks good in the first round melted in the second round as a giant favorite and then his last time out nazat hackos who’s not a bad fighter but he’s total decision guy like when hack PR knocks you out it it’s a pro it’s a problem and so this is all of his loss before the UFC in the UFC when he’s a big favorite when he’s a big Underdog he’s just like he’s always going to be a big problem in that regard Mauricio Huffy meanwhile he’s not nine wins I think it’s eight finishes most of which in the first round first or second round Banger looking to take you out beyond that all them fights are at 170 pounds like he’s coming down to 155 pounds which I imagine he’s going to be a big boy and he was already ice and fools at 170 that’s going to be a problem and if you were worried that he can’t carry it into later round SS like he was you know a gas bag that last fight with Raymond mag magamed Dov on the contender series again up at 170 takes him out in the third round stuffed all three of magamed dov’s takedown attempts now he’s coming down to 155 if Malarkey doesn’t take him down which seems like it could very well happen that Malarkey doesn’t take him down it’s just a matter of time before he gets something blown up on his chin and knocked out so I got to go with Mauricio huffi I’d love to see him on scales don’t get me wrong but this doesn’t seem like a particular favorable match up for Jamie Malarkey coming off another knockout loss to a lightly regarded puncher all right we got Dion Barbosa taking on ernesta Kate minus 200 for Barbosa plus 170 for ernesta who you got yeah so I think this fight starts outstanding obviously every fight does Deon Barbosa probably tries to you know figure things out and kickbox with a little bit but Kate’s got I just want to make sure I got it properly it’s a seven inch reach Advantage she’s only got three Ines on the height Advantage got 7even in reach Advantage so I think at some point and she just throws volume for days Lithuanian karate champion fought for a lot of standup type promotions whether it be in karate or kickboxing or you know uh mixed rules type fights but she’s a ex striking Dynamo I think with Deon Barbosa she’s got enough takedowns enough grappling she think she’s got three submission wins on her record think she would have enough that once she figures out that the Striking not necessarily like it it ain’t going your way you’ve got no shot as much as it’s hard to get a read on it’s quirky and things aren’t going as clearly in your favor as they probably should at that point she’s going to mix him the takedown once she gets the fight to the ground I can’t see kataka having a whole lot of success she doesn’t seem like she has an advanced ground game an advanced get up game being taller has his advantages it’s also not great when you need to create space and explode back up to your feet so if Dion fights a proper game plan the smart game plan not necessarily what the hungry Brazilian crowd wants but fights that winning educated game plan I think she just neutralizes her takedowns out grapples her wins two of the three rounds survives that third if need be but wins it on the scorecards if she decides to strike with her then it’s going to be a tightly contested fight and she’ll give her opponents many chances to land those eye-catching shots but a close fight in Brazil again I would want to favor the the favorite or the Brazilian and uh the grappling over the Striking got to favorite that as well so Dion barbos I I’ll pick her but not a fight that I’m super confident in because I I think it’ll be tightly contested sold all right moving on down we’ve got Ishmael bonim taking on Vince Pelle bad Von f is a minus 550 favorite Vince from Hell Pelle can be out for plus 400 Cody the B like I know the Pelle whisper it’s over we we lost our streak there you’re still nine and one on the guy impressive everything in% I mean I call one guy bad Bon F I mean I won’t be able ble to help myself Cody I’m going to end up betting Vince Michelle at some point this week the numers just so wide and like he’s just a jack of all trades maybe Bon FES fix his cardio issues up a little bit but like Vince is going to be coming for the full three rounds like he’s pretty durable stays out of trouble he’s able to get out of submission attempts like it may not be pretty in round one probably a better live bet if you wanted to go from that perspective but uh cuz I expect him probably to lose round one but I can’t it’s dogger pass for me man what about you yeah I gotta well you call him bad bomb F to be honest I think he’s good bomb you said that M times maybe both be bad though they may they they they may both be very very overrated as far as I’m concerned that that I will actually agree with you I don’t think neither of them are particularly good but he’s the better of the two he looked really good in the contender series against that Naran abasov who had a long in the tooth record fought Good Guys in Russia was a legit fight stuffed all his takedown tents kept the fight standing knocked him down doubled him up on the strike counts solid win and he didn’t have no cardio issues it went the full 15 minutes fight with Terence mckenny Terence mck’s got cardio issues not bom F bomb F Cooks him up real nice performance I thought mckin starts out fast early as he always does he’s able to get the quick takedown soon as bomb them’s able to just bite his time let McKinny gas out takes advantage clean hard power combination striking good in the pocket good at range explosive again another situation where his cardio hadn’t done anything wrong that fight’s in Rio that fight he looked awesome his very next fight’s back in the Apex against Beno s and here in Li’s issue is that even though he was on he was on such a long winning streak Ben s takes that early heat and then takes him down and the guy the guy quits and then so coincidentally enough he’s got four Pro losses the one before this was actually moano but but he’s got four Career Pro losses and they’re all by submission so if you can take that early heat that he brings at you and get takedowns and ply pressure yeah openings will definitely open up but that same breath his last two losses are buan s and hanato manano so nothing to be ashamed of Vince Michelle even though he has that grinding hard pressure top game type style he’s got that style he’s got that winning ability he’s got all that that that grittiness all that things that maybe take bom them’s early strikes and then grind him out he’s got all of that what he lacks is one he’s not been on sanir money monono thing number two is that Vince Michelle’s actually got zero career submission victories so he’s gonna have to take him down hold him down put an absolute beating on him but if he doesn’t choke him out which is what everybody else has been doing uh I don’t know he’s 41 he hasn’t fought in a year he’s had one fight I think two fights in the last like four years Paul’s Paul’s got an incredible 9- one record on Vince Pelle fights Pelle is seven and3 in the UFC but Paul Paul is 9- one when betting Vince Michelle fight so we would always be like what’s Paul think what’s Paul think uh you know and Vince Michelle’s got that dog and Paul likes that dog Paul landed a bunch of plus money hits on the guy it was legendary the Belle whisper but the only reason Paul’s not sitting on an island right now drinking one of those fancy little drinks that come in a coconut have a little umbrella in it is the guy’s fought 10 times over 10 years more than 10 years debut officially ROM hobby love in 2012 homie been rocking 13 and a half year MMA career in the UFC and he’s had 10 fights so just that the inactivity the injuries the on and on off again the 41 years old going to Brazil taking on this this Powerhouse Brazilian kid that figures to be a little bit better than he was at last timeout and Paul was finally wrong for the first time ever nine straight Pelle picks and then his last time out he he took him against Mark Madson Fair pick good fight but Madson didn’t come to fight he came to wrestle win rounds and sometimes that’s what does the job so but like mat mat getting the takedown at the in round three and just being able to hold position was just like four it was just like four minutes four minutes of torture cuz I was just like he’s not going to get up oh God Pelle Pelle out struck him 68- 39 one guy came to fight Paul shaunessy one guy came to wrestle and win round so bum [ __ ] I love Pelle I’ve been with you the whole r brother but uh I just feel like bom fiend is way sharper if you’re betting Vince Michelle though that probably waiting I’m waiting for I’m waiting for all the the parlay Bros to maybe like get me a slight like this is like this is just like a deep this is just sickness this is just like if this is like Vince Michelle’s last fight I’ve got to be there you know that’s kind of my mindset I understand he’s like long in the tooth and um he’s giving up a lot of Technical and athletic ability probably in this matchup but I’ll give this could be the last one can I give you this I’ll give you one thing right his three losses in thec s and three his three losses in the UFC Mark Madson who won uh silver medal at the Olympics and Greco Roman wrestling Gregor Gillespie could have gone to the Olympics and wrestle maybe not but he could have been an Olympic alternate all day guys’s at a multiple time National Champion he’s the man Gregor Gillespie had beat him and who hob love so like three of the best wrestlers that the division has ever seen exactly have so you’re not wrong dude bomb F’s gonna just tea off on this guy and when Vince Belle and his mustache don’t go away he might quit it’s happened a few times you’ve got my uh you’ve got my attention py you got my attention hopefully I get some money out of it and finally we got uh alesio or alesandro Costa taking on Kevin bores minus 140 for Costa plus 120 for bores I me cost uh I like this kid the the low kicks are super super powerful um you know he absolutely chewed Jimmy flick up in round uh in round two with those and like the two losses in the UFC Amir albazi well he was supposed to fight Brandon Moreno for a number one Contender fight obviously albazi pulls out and um and Roy Val steps in against Mareno Brandon Roy Val pulls out pulls out the upset there but it’s like that was a really really tough fight coming off of contender series hey here’s Amir albazi like a top five guy and a guy who’s right up there in the title conversation right now and the other losses against Steve ersag and frankly in all of these matchups he hasn’t looked so bad he hasn’t looked completely out of pa place maybe that speaks more to this division in general but um yeah I don’t know I I I’m I was kind I’m kind of surprised but that this number is so short to be perfectly honest I feel like Costa uh maybe the volume’s not great but like boris’s volume hasn’t been like too out of control um plus like Victor Diaz was able to take him down five times on Contender series it’s cost to have a little bit of a wrestling game that he hasn’t really been able to show off I mean he took off EG once he only got taken down by albazi once like there’s certain factors of this game I don’t think are completely flushed out we don’t completely know but I yeah it’s Costa for me willo yeah I going agree uh Costa Costa’s got like he’s he’s a fire hydrant type guy albazi went one for four on takedown in attempts against him Jimmy flick went 0 for four on takedowns against him ersg went one for eight in takedowns against him the guy is very difficult to take down and then standing yeah he’s got that power I’m going to agree with you he’s low on volume it seems like everything he throws is heavy power and as such he’s not looking for long-winding combinations he’s not looking to land you know a bunch per round as much as just making what he does land count but that fight with Jimmy flick he had landed 66 significant strikes in a knockdown in six minutes so he’s Landing like 10 strikes per not second but per minute like just bopping on guy on Jimmy but Jimmy at that point was reduced to one leg because of the calf kicks and a demobilized target with no striking in return so those guys he can tee off on outside of that he’s a little bit low volume his fight in the contender series he shot zero t Downs his fight with air albazi he shot zero takedowns his fight with Jimmy flick he shot zero takedowns he did shoot six against ERS and got one of them and so that at least shows that he’s more willing to go to a wrestling heavy game plan if need be and exchange in those grappling type situations and survive and not gaps he win 15 minutes with ersc and that’s why Ean May is such a sick twisted [ __ ] ig’s headlining the card in a title fight and Costa is the very first fight on the card in a prelim Facebook prelim 14 fight card not on Facebook prelim but you get what I’m saying Paul it’s the bottom of the bottom of the card so yeah that’s what a win and a loss will do but he was competitive with ERS I liked what he brought to the table with Kevin boros he’s just not he’s just a body but he’s a Serv serviceable generalist come in there take some shots give some shots as you mentioned with versus Victor Diaz on the contender series he got taken down five times and like up until Diaz gassed he would just take him down almost on command that’s problematic his fight with Joshua van Joshua van styles on him out strikes him really puts the foot on the gas but the biggest thing is this kid comes in and just swings for the fences just swings for the fences doesn’t allow himself uh cardio because he can because he doesn’t he’s not saving anything he’s just going for it it’s a fun fight but he leaves way too many openings and he gives up two more takedowns to Joshua van when I look at Alexandro Costa he’s durable enough to probably take those big shots he’s just going to stay in the fight stick with it land some takedowns of his own make his shots count and he grinds this thing out so I got to go with cost to get the job done all right we are just about out of time but before we go code hit him with the PRP it’s favorite heavy but that’s the kind of card it is I guess we’re going to go with Alexander panoa Jonathan Martinez like Smith could be a PRP pick but I think I’m smart enough to go with VOR patrino uh Michelle Pereira I do like kale barow I do like Jo Anderson breedo um Yasmin lucendo okay Elvis brener that’s our dog number one baby we’re gonna go with jean Silva that will be close trar close uh Marcio ruffy Dion barbos like Vince Michelle is maybe that dog number two I feel so a shame saying I only have one Underdog in a 14 card one Underdog sorry finish the P feels so wrong n yeah it just feels so wrong but I think that’s where I’m at I’ll keep with it I’ll watch weighin couple things might change here and there I could see myself pulling the trigger in a few different spots but outside of that hopefully brener goes out and destroys and then everybody else does what they’re supposed to do somebody is dropping an a aai bowl here buddy one of these big favorites whether it’s Bon or Perera or Balo or patrino like one of these minus 500 and up favorites are going to drop the B patrino bom F patrino but then you can rebuild right you could it wouldn’t be super laid into the car Patrina would cost you cuz there’s only two fights left but if you lost on bomb F you could definitely rebuild Costa you could load up a little more than you’d like on Costa because it’s so early in the card but yeah you don’t want to be making a ton of mistakes and costing yourself much of your bankroll better to just take those key favorites you like and then if you want to Juice It Up with a brener then great if not yeah keep it to what you do like lots to pick and choose from but who’s going to [ __ ] in the pie patrino orai and and bomb F those are the three suspects I just picked one of them orabi Paul took one of them Pelle to do get the job done and Anthony Smith man like I got such a nagging suspicion like what is vtor D I gotta get out of here so I’m just gonna stop now but what has vtor done to this point Smith’s just so shot okay let’s get out of here Paul well I mean Smith’s greatest thing in his in his wheel or his wheelhouse has been his durability and I suppose he’s coming off of a pretty rough knockout loss against like maybe that’s the mindset but I agree it’s just like minus 600 it’s like it’s a hefty like he was like a pick them against uh it’s the Swedish guy uh the Swedish whatever machine you know who I’m talking an I mean he was pretty much a pick him in that spot and like the fights since then haven’t been that impressive maybe it’s Anthony Smith I don’t think I have it in me to pull the trigger on it anyway that is it for us this week hope you enjoyed the show for producer Megan and Cody saf I’m Paul sha toy saying goodbye and good luck [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  2. Cody whats wrong with you? How on earth you can give it to JSP? Onama jabbed his face off in R3 and did all the damage. No one scored it for JSP including media outlets. It wasn't close fight. Clear win for Onama. Stop making excuses.

  3. Jonathan Pierce didn't win 😂 All he had was take downs which got reversed or stuffed and due to the speed disadvantage got outstruck.

  4. i called llontop round 1 submission loss after i watched the interview with Padila where he says he will choke him out. I won £45 from £2 bet. I called 4 perfect round finishes last week but i lost my PRP because of Ryan Spann and Austin Lane. was only 50p to win 365 😀

  5. Brenner pick doesn't hold up. Lost to Zubaira and was getting absolutely dogged by Guram until he gassed. Also don't forget the Medic fight was short notice
