couldn’t hurt him the way he did he went

rounds with ar young that’s a different
Diego than Diego we have now 100% he
also he went he went five rounds with

out of this fight I was expecting this
one to go like a good four or five
rounds not to be I thought it was going
to go later and it was just going to
somebody was going to get Dr [ __ ]

would have made more sense to me like oh

cancelled and I told Eric to give me
Cameron Graves and he was like are you
sure I’m like bro I wouldn’t text I
would to text about sh I was just
like he was just he was just saying like
I don’t know that’s the best I was like
dude give me that fight like it makes
sense his fight fell out at the time too
so he was itching the fight anyways yeah
you know and then my fight kind of just
worked out and well Eric was like well
that fight then it was just like I
didn’t kid well I remember okay he’s
good I remember us us talking about the
Cameron fight and it was we always
whether people want to believe it or not
like we weigh whis risk reward for every
fighter that that that we’re putting in
there like what does this do for aswell
what does this do for Cameron when when
you’re putting them in there right and
for Cameron it was a chance it’s hard to
say the Young Gun and like Old Lion
because Cameron’s still young too he
just has a ton of fights yeah but you
you looking at as well it’s like was he
ready for this this is a big step up in
competition and the problem is exactly
what happened not that it was a problem
for you but you win that fight now
you’re in this different Echelon of who
we can match you up with oh anyone you

needs to do to like earn earn this title
and earn these shots and at that point
it was like it didn’t matter who he put
in front of you no I mean even after

been asking for the title for like four
fights back after the grace fight
because I was like he was a former
chance so kind of makes right like I
could fight for the or at least be in
consideration to fight for the Bel I was
even asking him like Hey you know short
notice maybe even you know I remember

Cameron y I think there was a fight
between I I I don’t recall but it might
have been yti luch was it Austin Lin L

after like like Jesse Butler was like
the champ I was like I’ll fight him and
then he got moved up yeah and then he
Eric was like three weeks you can fight
Diego for the BT and I was like I might
need more than three weeks but I’ll
fight I’ll fight that and then he ended
up getting caught up like a couple days
after that and then you know everyone
that was getting called up was you know
F like fought for the better had it so
then I’m like all let me just put me
against whoever the belt like ain’t no
one there taking it it was kind of just
in the in the stratosphere just hanging
there yeah you know are it’s it’s
strange we have so many like really deep
divisions a lot OFA and like 125 is is I
always kind of stand out as like this is
a big division for us but our 145lb
division because it’s a it’s a revolving
door cuz as soon as to him before the
show off of topology and there’s like 40
of the guys that are ranked are ours
well not only that but like as soon as
you get the belt like you know like your
next fight it’s it’s it’s not here yeah
right you know you know so not only it
automatically like the first thing we
started talking about and you brought up
today too was like well who gets the
next title shot right because you’re
already like well I I’m not going to
defend it I’m gone you know they’re
going to call me out of course so like
it’s become this revolving door and 145
PBS for us is it it’s awesome for us man
yeah it’s a good thing it’s awesome but
it does put into perspective kind of
like who we who fights for the belt you
know like look man we got to make sure
that next guy is ready to go yeah
exactly CU I got no doubt if they send
you to Contender series all already yeah
it’s go time I got no doubt bro it’s go
time yeah I they give you no and that’s
and people are asking like would you
rather do contenders or sh noce and I
said you know of course sh noce like you
get the automatic call like that call up
but contenders is not bad like you get
time to you know keep training you know
you get time to see who you’re fighting
kind of you know come up with the game
plan stick with your team like you know
even me I’ve only been with war for like
since December like it’s not that time
it gives me more time to jail me more
time to work you know and contenders
would be a very um interesting thing for
you because that’d be the smallest crowd
you’ve ever
fought like a golf crd I’ve never fought
out a decent so isn’t that crazy to
think about that know it’s beautiful to
think
this like how awesome is that to be with
the same promotion should never left
your hometown and still get the call
Jacob Jacob Silva hopping in says he he
took he took you with him to to
Contender Series yeah he did when he
fought uh uh JP bu so you got to kind of
experience how quiet that that is right

buffet in the back no wait hey it’s

food in the back I so I went with Jacob
for that Contender series I got to see
how the week goes out and then I was in
the corner for Adrian against Randy
Costa so I got to see how the UFC runs
their weeks too so you know I’ve been
there got a feel of it got a you know
kind of where you got to go what you got
to do yeah training and stuff like that
that it was cool it made me realize I
like I could do this like I could do
this you know what I’m saying at that
moment in time even that was a couple
years ago but even I was walking out
with them like oh yeah I can like I see
me you’re being there you know that’s
another thing just like my mindset of
how everything works like being there
feeling it like you know just already
having that familiarity with everything
like I want the F cage I’m chilling how
how are you enjoying it’s home in there
how are you enjoying the changes that
you made know going over to 4 out now um
you got some similar because you know
you got Justice there with you as well
but you know tell us about the the
difference over there for you guys now I
just you know I feel like um I’m at home

you know like lifted up a little bit and
who’s your main partner over there is a

connected were looking at each other and

very um there’s a big emotional aspect
especially when when it comes to like
your teams and stuff I’ve never grab
[ __ ] but I guess it’s pretty

there was there was a few exchanges from
a I I thought ay would use more of his
wrestling okay he tried he did but and
Justice defended very the few times that
he did get him down justice minimized
all the damage and did a great job of
just be him get back up okay cool like
like you can clearly listen we talked
about earlier in the week you know if
you’re going to beat Justice Torres how
do you be Justice Torres well a wrestler
is one of the worst guys for him Mikey
you take him down and he got held him
we’ve seen that in the past this Justice
Torres got up got right back up and he
did it very calmly like he’s already
always calm on the ground he’s always he
yeah he managed to get up very very
easily uh and you can kind of see that
the grappling and the trainings you guys
are doing over there definitely
definitely paid off I mean getting
wrestled by Dan
is a [ __ ] that’s an absolute
monster you guys are dealing with every
day we’re not no bro he does not feel
like okay
never s T’s a [ __ ] dog no he’s insane
like little dog insane likeo we rolling
he just rolls the submission I you know
he’s a finisher he he’s going he like
when we’re rolling I think he puts at
least six submissions up like finish him
he’s just transitioning to him just to

Jiu-Jitsu coaches cuz for a while uh uh
classy Grappler was there ran was there
makako and their our leadings that’s how
me Daniel was there um at one point at
one point it was just him and his
brother you know Santas so it’s oh they
still there yeah it was it was been
training wrestling with them but as much
as all these other coaches have come and
been apart you know Jeremy mayone was
there for a long time as team OGD the

team Daniel always just had his own
style and he took from renan he took
from classy he took from makako and look
man that dude’s the king of the kamur
like I love I love Chris Brennan and I
know that’s like one of his actual Nick
names as king of the kamur but damn
Daniel Pan’s kamur setups and what he
does with it is absolutely nasty dude he
takes your kamur you’re like oh he’s on

to do so Justus Justice Torres comes out
picks up the big victory and that’s
going to put him into some title
contention talks as well right I mean

was clearly The Grudge Match of the
night uh Ryan qes and cam Smotherman in
a very close very highly contested fight
um the judging was was different in this
there was a few 29 28s each way and then
one random
3027 would you have it have it I didn’t
under I don’t know man like sitting
there watching jaw live no sitting there
watching live I thought Cameron lost the
fight going going into the third round
I I felt like H was up two to nothing
yeah so like while I was cam but I I
didn’t the what we think about what the
judges might have been watching they
might have been thinking well this dude
Smotherman is literally trying to win
this fight and finish and this other
guys kind of trying to hang on and
survive yeah I don’t know how they
waited it’s hard to say because even
when when you judge damage which is one
of the things people talk about visually
qes was Landing head kicks like he
landed some head kicks on Cameron one
busted his ear drum open that Cameron
openly talked about that’s where the
blood was coming from yeah um I’m not
sure it was a very very close fight I
actually would have probably been okay
with a draw like like watching that
fight I’d have been okay with a draw I’d
have understood a draw but I fully
understand a Smotherman Victory and I
understand if qes had won on cards like
it was so close that Cameron W he wanted
to finish that fight of course he was
going for the kill it wasn’t like let me
just grind out a decision
and I feel like I feel like was he just
wanted to do enough at that point to
hold him down get him to the ground take
his back whatever which isn’t a bad
thing was
just cam he made cam a fortune teller
cam told him hey you’re going to turn
into wrestler you’re going to be
shooting you’re going be shooting for
your life 3027 uh Chance Williams yeah
but you said you had it up two Z but I
guess he didn’t going to the third round
that was that was how I felt watching

felt like maybe Cameron didn’t do enough
until like the final 10 seconds whenever

highlights this morning there’s been a
change in the last season no like that

laying pre sh the last like year and a
half to two years there’s been a change
in how judges seem to weigh the
wrestling cuz we’ve seen some very
wrestling heavy performances where the
wrestler didn’t win yeah and it now and
you know what we work on at our gym a
lot is is him like you got to have
damage on top of this wrestling so if
you’re taking them down you need to
start punching iMed of uh the the Nico
ET tedric mlin fight talk about that
that’s a that’s a great example of that
you know Nico clearly got a lot of
takedowns has a lot of control time
but there wasn’t a lot of damage done
and there was no submission threats done
from there so it’s one of those things
where I don’t know what’s caused it but
I’ve seen it in the last probably year
and a half to two years that there’s
been a very different change when it
comes to how they grade the wrestling
now obviously the first judging criteria
is damage damage yeah so if one person
got taken down seven times but every
time you run the feed he busted your
eyes open who did more damage the guy on
the even if the fight was only 10
seconds long on the fee I don’t know
well then that means
exactly the first exchange the dude
breaks your nose right and you’re beding
the rest the fight too and then he takes
and then you get taken down and he lays
on you for the next four minutes and
then round two comes out the dude head
kicks you and breaks your jaw and then
he takes you down and he’s laying on you
the whole fight well you know a great
example of that [ __ ] up cuz I’m
leaving right than healthy and the other
dude’s all [ __ ] up and they just
raised his hand a great example of that
great he a great example of that is is
the MAA kubos and Cota fight earlier in
the night you know MAA got one of the
worst cuts I’ve ever seen like dude did
you see the picture I posted it’s
spurting blood oh man all the I this
[ __ ] one of my favorite pictur I’ve
ever taken when he Lo try to take that
kid down he Hammer fisted him to death
but but also if you go back and you
watch that fight turn the turn the
volume off and just watch that fight M
kind of wins the first round if you now
outside of damage so MAA is on top he
holds Kota down for a lot of the round
now kot every time he was on his feet
was was letting it go but if you look
off of like control MAA was ended the
round on top he was in Mount he tried
arm but visually it clearly looked like
Robert Cotto won that round so I’m
hoping they gave that toot Robert

close and it goes to Georg what you want

where there wasn’t much damage right so

is undefeated right and for him to
really not show interest I was like

shot at Contender series when it’s

there in front of him I was hoping there
was a nice knock out on one end and Mick

if that would have happened Mick would
have watched the fight obviously and one
on his radar but it didn’t it didn’t
look like it didn’t look like either guy
was looking for a finish they look like
they they were fighting so look they got
to make a mistake and neither guy made a
mistake during the fight yeah both guys
look they’re very both hard to take down
technical guys super technical and they
look alike you’re like I can see if
you’re a judge I’d be like hey man I
don’t know the ball Brown guy won you

corner the picture I got Cody’s eyes
roll back in his head and come back in

never showed he has got

at least weeks six to six to eight I

perfect where like routine schedule like
I can like monitor it like go down if
the UFC picks up the phone and calls you
today and says hey man we had a Fallout
we’re we’re figuring it out so so when
you walk 55 for sure how much how much
are you cutting like day of weigh-ins or
night before weigh-ins and how what do
you our estimate what do you weigh when
you come back
okay but so I the way I used to do it I
used to do it the old school way like I
would water load I would go two gallons
two gallons one gallon half a gallon a
quarter of a gallon right so then
throughout the week I would gradually
cut and like last day I have five to six
maybe right but like you’re dehydrated
those past two days so that last five
you’re like drawing out water that you
barely even have are you a night before
guy or a morning of well this like this
fight I changed up the water load so I
just drink two gallons for 4 days
straight yeah and then didn’t drink any
on Friday so I cut like 10: on Friday
you know and then cut like 2 or 3: or in
the morning but I never cut in the
morning I usually cut at night just I’m
chilling right but they were like you
know make sure you get some like you
want you want to get some sleep so you
know I went to bed like you know two
like three over on the night before and
I just fell asleep and I actually got
good sleep I slept from like 8:00 to
like 4:00 woke up and then kind of just
finish the rest and then that was it but
I never tried I never tried that way and
I was like I wanted to do something
different cuz how’ you feel great the
the like they were telling me like all
the coaches and everyone’s like the
point of weight cutting is to be
dehydrated for the least amount of time
possible right right so if I’m
dehydrated for two days and then the
third day like I don’t even sleep the
night before and when like the night
before you don’t sleep so you’re just
sitting there [ __ ] miserable for
seven hours W for cut everything the day
of do you check your L people do do do
you check your weight before you go back
in like you have an idea of what you’re
for what like fight day uh I mean I
don’t really care but I mean I’ll check
it just on just to like laugh a little
bit how much are you generally put put
putting back on you think
uh I no I was 68 jeez 20 20 that’s big
that’s that’s 7 some somewhere in there
keep in mind weigh in we used to weigh
in at like 1:00 we used to waigh in I
used to weigh in at when I
first God thank
God we we pull up and people would not
show up till like four or five and then
you last waiting for the state and [ __ ]
before and we us to way in and face off
we wouldn’t face off till like I
remember bro it be like they said
waiting at 2:30 we didn’t wait until 45
bro help change thank God I was pushing
for it the whole time I was like bro
you’re you’re trying to be like the UFC
might as well do the weight cut like the
UFC but the UFC too didn’t start doing
those clubs yeah cuz they used to go and
do sometimes they sometimes they did
they did it right before Co but the
reason they did it was because of the
way the fighters look uh like James
Irvin and those guys had those terrible
Connor had those terrible Cuts where
he’s on the scale look like a [ __ ]
skeleton sitting up there so they
started going hey we’re going to let you
rehydrate for a few hours great idea
yeah and we get a whole day and a half
almost instead of like not a whole day
sometimes you would even a whole day to
recover yeah you know most of our guys I
know Alex Morano seems he he he he Nails
his weight and his last time he he said
like he was at that weight for the least
amount of time as if he cut it that
morning most of I like most of our guys
we go to they’re still drinking eating a
little bit the night before me too and
then the next day it’s pound maybe 2 lbs
to cut off that morning so quick quick
session get going um and honestly
whatever works for you for sure and
that’s another thing is like you got to
be comfortable with doing what you do
there’s so many different methods it’s
like which one do you like cuz some
people won’t like one some people like I
never really done the hot bath and I
know people love the hot bath I do the
jacuzzi but like the hot bath is [ __ ]
hot bro there’s a lot of people that
talk about uh why why don’t we end the
weight CL in the weight cuts everybody
fights at there walk around with what’s
your take on that sure whatever you want
to do I don’t think I wouldn’t mind
fighting at 55 but but like you just
know going in like look at like Michael
Chandler dude or like this dudes are

with like even Rafa uh he comes to the

me he told me to stick with Eric he’s a
