Chicago has seing a monster upgrade at
the skill position with Keenan Allen
coming in DeAndre Swift in the backfield
now they add the quarterback that they
will pair with the top
10 uh in they take in the top 10 who
they’ll pair with DJ Moore who’s coming
off a career-high in both catches and
receiving yards last year in romad dun
as well K herb Street joins us now and
Herby we knew it’ be Caleb at one but
there had been a lot of conversations
we’d had on this show with the various
draft experts folks like Lewis rck as
well about what you do at nine we know
there are a ton of O linemen right and
we knew there were a ton of wide
receivers but if you’re going to take a
quarterback and you got a choice of an o
linan or a wide receiver where do you go
at nine a couple of both had come off
the board before the Bears got adun what
do they get in him and why do you think
they went that
route well if you watch the Bears
offense last year and I had him twice on
Thursday night you you know that they
went out and hired a new offensive
coordinator and Shane wal you get your
quarterback you lose Darnell Mooney they
needed receivers even though they have
Keenan Allen coming in they still need I
think a differenc maker that they feel
really good about and I think that this
you know and I know you have more there
so you’ve got some guys now you got some
pieces I don’t know if Justin Fields
really ever had all of those pieces and
how great is it for romad dun to learn
under Keenan Allen to be able to learn
how to become really a professional and
this guy what you’re getting is not just
a guy at 63 212 runs up 43 ridiculous
ball skills downfield if you saw him
being interviewed and you watch his
attitude you’re getting a guy that’s
going to come in that’s humble that
wants to work that eventually he’ll be
maybe a captain for this team so you’re
getting a total package an intangible
guy that I think brings a lot more than
just hey he’s really big and he’s really
fast and he wins contested catches this
guy of all the guys I sat down with and
talked with to get ready in these
production meetings every time we’d walk
out I’d hit Fowler and I’d be like man
that guy just locked in just a mature
guy that that just kind of gets it so I
I can see why they went out and picked
him I think that through the years Herby
on these nights we all you don’t have to
squint hard to see the the the promise
in these young men there’s a reason why
they go high they don’t always work out
for one reason or another but nobody
knows a college game any better than you
and I’m interested in which pick you see
with a fit that you feel great about
obviously you’re following the NFL as
well on the Thursday nights where’s
where’s a pick that you loved and
why I I I think Xavier Worthy is the
obvious one I mean he’s going to bring
that speed 421 to Patrick Mahomes and
that that offense last year if you
watched the Chiefs even though they
ended up winning at all at the end if
you watched them there was some growing
pains with those young receivers and now
this situation with Rashid rice off the
field you know I think it’s a smart pick
and and anything that Kansas City does
seems to always work out they’re just
always a step ahead of everybody else
and they always seem to add a new to toy
for Patrick Mahomes to be able to work
with and why not go out and get a guy
now he’s 163 lbs which means Andy Reed’s
going to have fun he’s going to have fun
moving him around coming up with ways to
get him on rub routes and just try to
get him away from getting jammed at the
line of scrimmage but with that speed
with all the other weapons that they
have in Mahomes to be able to utilize
that that’s an e easy one I like the JJ
McCarthy pick I mean to give you another
one um and I think he’s going to fit in
perfectly with what they do in Minnesota
and I think he and both with all the
focus on the top three I think both of
those guys and the situations that they
fit into and I heard you and Lewis
talking about kind of scratching our
heads about why did he go to Atlanta
with cousins coming in I think it’s a
talking to uh coach Savin here over the
last couple days I think it’s a great
opportunity for pennx now I know Atlanta
maybe want to win wants to win now but
it’s a great opportunity for him to sit
there and learn under Kirk Cousins not
feel the pressure like these other guys
to play right away and a chance to I
think really grow is a pro so by the
time they give him the keys he’s got a
chance to to hit the ground running and
I think he’s going to be a sensational
NFL quarterback Herby I was doing that
thing for my producer I was holding up
my fingers about an inch apart while I
had one quick one I wanted to ask you
about with wor with worthy like 421 like
fine I get that straight line speed in
Indianapolis in your in your draws but
this is the kind of speed you can see on
the on on the field I just like
speedsters don’t always translate but I
feel like we’ve seen the examples and
you’ve seen them certainly in the
building like that speed translates on
game day doesn’t it yeah he’s got wiggle
along with it you know he’s not a guy
that’s just a track straight line speed
kind of guy okay uh I I’ve called so
many of his games and you know and Coach
sa will talk maybe about him in in a
second but he’s not you know he beat uh
Alabama he got behind them of course he
has that ability but I’ve seen him in in
like the Red River rivalry first play of
game catch an easy underneath pass like
a slant and then shake a corner and and
be able to get down the sideline and
once he gets down the sideline nobody
can catch him so I cannot imagine the
different ways uh that Andy Reid will
come up with ways to get him the
football because of that versatility to
be able to go down field but also do
some do some of the Dirty Work you know
make those catches underneath and and
get away from people even though he’s
under size

  1. The bears were not 2 players away from winning the super bowl so stop dreaming. If you look at the history of picking a QB with the first pick you have to go all the way back to Eli Manning to find a super bowl winner, so good luck with those picks. Picking first rarely equates to success unless you want a ribbon for winning the division once every 10 years.

  2. If you haven't been under a rock you would know that Ryan Poles is the Messiah that came to bring Da Bears out of bondage 😅 Let's Go Bears!🐻

  3. Amazing Draft So Far Gotta Give Ryan Poles Tons Of Credit I Have To Admit I Had Doubts About Him BUT Maybe I Underestimated Him!! Well Done Ryan BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!!!

  4. calebs options this year are insane. 2 proven elite nfl Wrs allen and moore. a rookie wr whos probability of becoming elite is high. Cole kmet gerald evert. Deandre swift whos not just a great rb but a great catching rb at that.
like its INSANE. bro can look left right and now he has elite options across the field up and down left and right.

  5. Hopefully they have lineman that can block…..qb doesn’t look to good from the seat of his pants

  6. The bears are like that one stock that decides to blow up as soon as you give up and cut your losses. Justin fields gotta be punching air right now. Caleb has it MUCH easier than he ever did coming in year 1. I hope karma holds fields up and he becomes a legend in pittsburg for the next decade or so after 2025 if Russ doesnt work out
