quick this weekend who do you have
winning this fight this
weekend win the fight okay got I got I
got hany winning the fight because right
now Han’s on a rooll uh he one of the
youngest Undisputed champions of all
time uh he’s a very AR and a very
knowledgeable guy I trained him for a
little while he’s a little younger
before he turned Pro so I taught him a
lot of game and he’s only bettered that
game or perfected that game more since I
taught him so um he’s really become a
sight to see and he wants to be the best
of his weight class and I really like
that about him too so he and Ryan I
think have three wins a piece uh versus
each other as amateur so Ryan does know
him very well and he knows Ryan very
well and Ryan on the other hand has a
left hook that’s made more for the pros
than most people know so so he always
dangerous but I just think Devon is
smart enough to overcome the left hook
and if he can overcome the left hook
he’s
F let me ask you a little and thank you
that’s a great great take on that let me
ask you something do you think what Ryan
is doing leading up to the fight is part
of marketing or do you think he’s really
going something because I know everybody
have different way of marketing
different Antics different ways to get
ticket sales ET ET etc etc and what Ryan
is doing this is like so my uncle’s a
boxing trainer uh Billy JS and I grew up
in the house with uh Hector kamacho in
my house two three times a week this is
beyond
kamacho like what what do you think is
this mental or do you think this is
serious what Ryan’s going through he
said he identified as a
woman yeah it’s it’s sort of confusing I
think I think a lot of what he’s doing
is really play games too with Devin hany
to play mind games but at the same time
he’s been through a lot of stuff and he
been through a lot of stages and with
all the stages that he’s been through
it’s kind of hard to tell what’s real
and what’s not um I thought he was an
absolute uh great talent coming into the
pros was a great puncher uh they just
didn’t develop his right hand as much as
his left so because he was one-handed he
became predictable uh hopefully Derek
James is giv him more more or added to
his Arsenal with the hands so now he’s
just not a left hook fighter because he
can really be a good fighter and a
dangerous fighter if he develops both
hands got you got you now let’s say
Devon does win his fight right in your
eyes who’s the best in that weight class
now I know they move they’ve moved up
but you know it’s the three-headed
monster so to speak we got Devon we got
tank and we got Shakur in your eyes out
of those three who’s one through
three well it’s hard to say I give Devin
and tank one one a and one B right now
because neither one of them been beaten
uh they both have fought some pretty
good opposition and they beat some
pretty stiff opposition so uh that being
said I give them two number one and two
or number one a and number one b and I
think uh either one could be the first
and you put Shakur on the backside
because he was at a lighter weight
weight class uh the the only real name I
think he beat was so far was Oscar
Valdez and that’s because was one of
many real names in his weight class so
he’s now up in the 135 pound division
looking for competition because he wants
to make his claim in that weight class
too uh but it’s like Terence Crawford
Terence Crawford was pound-for-pound
probably one of the best fighters around
for a long time but he never had the
other guy that he could fight that would
give him that that true uh credibility
and people would say he was number one
pound for pound and that’s why he chased
Errol spencec for so long so Shakur has
that problem right now he hasn’t found
that opponent yet it’s going to give him
the credibility that tank and Devon
Haney have already tank got it by
beating pitb pretty much then he beat a
couple other people but hany got it by
beating going way to Australia and
beating the Australian and then going
there doing it twice so these guys have
done things already that were very
significant in the game and gave them
the credibility to put them at the top
of the weight division so right now you
got handy and tank Head to Head pretty
much in my eyes and then secur is a fast
uh second or third coming behind him and
the only reason he’s behind is because
he I don’t know I don’t know that’s a
very tough fight uh tank is a strong guy
uh he’s a very very he a much better
boxer than people give him credit for he
knows how to change up in the middle of
the stream that’s what great boxers have
to be able to do uh Haney also is a very
good fighter who hasn’t really grown all
the way into his man strength yet but
he’s getting stronger every time so I
think if we give him another year that’d
be a very good fight to see I want to
ask you a couple questions about about
your career and uh because you probably
you and Floyd are my two favorite
fighters ever um just growing up have
you
ever and you had a successful career
great career but have you ever got over
the fact
that you lost that decision in the
Olympics have you ever got over
that well I didn’t get over for a long
time
uh it stayed with me for a really really
really really long time and uh then
compounded they disqualified me to get
my first loss as a professional so it
really made it even worse because it’s
like wow they they do me bad in the
Olympics and another country then I come
home and they do me bad again right so
it was just kind of me so I just kind of
put that jacket on and Ward and say you
know what this God will just constantly
pushing you so you just keep pushing and
so I got over it and just kept
pushing now I dig it because some [ __ ]
you get over it but you don’t forget it
and it stays in the back of your mind so
that I always wondered that my man s
City he was a big fan of yours as well
wanted me to ask you that question
another question being that you pick
Crawford against Errol Spence that is um
I new C um part me Arrow didn’t take
kindly to that are y’all in a better
space now because of that after you know
I know that you been CRA and I know that
y’all seen each other then speak so on

much better space now uh he called well

favorite guys in the division is at the
time but they had to fight and a lot of
people said well we thought LMA got a
bad
decision it could have went either way
to some people but to me if Han is the
champ you got to go dominate champ you
want Dominic champ can’t give you to
fight but I still thought want to fight
but I like both of them they two of my
favorite but I thought he didn’t want to
fight I wasn’t being biased it’s just
what it is so you can’t get mad at my
opinion I I have a right to my own
opinion you understand me so but what I
was saying about ER and and Crawford was
it really wasn’t opinionated it was more
factual and people didn’t want to hear
my facts and they didn’t want to listen
to what my facts was and if erl would
asked me before to fight so what you
think I need to do I probably would have
told him because I know what he facing

dog and B is not a gotta you gonna just
beat easily you can’t beat b one style
but you gotta go through some thinking

where it’s really at in boxing the order
of boxing is to hit and not get hit and
Crawford is a mean guy but he also
understands that the the art of boxing

watching you guys growing up and until
recently a few years ago is rumored that
HBO may be getting back into the boxing
would you be joining them or is that
something that you even still interested
in doing and when HBO stopped doing box
it’s a two-part question when HBO
stopped doing boxing could you have went
to showtime and did it as well with the
other offers on the table or you just
said this is going to stop with HBO
because this is my family I’ve seen the
last uh boxing match that you guys aired
and I seen it was very emotional for you
you made me start crying I’m like Roy
got me up here about to start crying cuz
it’s really emotional because I I [ __ ]
with y’all guys is if HBO comes back in
the boxing and would you get back with
them and would you present another
opportunity after
HBO uh I really wasn’t presenting many
opportunities after HBO I had a few one
offs with like the zone and a couple
other then I did a little bit with uh
Pro box down in Tampa Florida but that
was just like a app and U so nothing
really came really good for me so I just
kind of bagged up but if HBO came back
into the game if they bought it back and
Max Kellman I probably have a hard time
saying no because those were two of the
best guys I’ve ever worked with and uh I
really enjoy if Jim lley was doing
anything in commentary he would if he
called me and said hey I need you to
come on bam I’m gone cuz that was the
man you understand me he he was like
those dudes with my them were my dogs
Jim lamp and Max kman and know me and
Max we hit our differ at first but you
know I I know Max likes to ask a lot of
questions and sometime it bother me a
little they ask so many question but
that’s how you gain now you what I’m
understanding me so right we had
that but but but as a student of the
game he was a true student of the game
and he loved boxing and you got people
who are you got a person who’s a true
student of the game who really studies
it he made me earn he earned my respect
for his due diligence of learning about
the sport of boxing as much as he could
without ever competing so that made me
like Max a whole lot more and he’s a
real honest true person so with him and
Jim lamb both came back on the scene H
have me right away because how could I
say no to my two favorite teammates of
all
time right right let me ask you
something this just me personally in my
homework do lar Merchant hating on Floyd
your opinion I because from us looking
in it looked like he always had a
problem with Floyd Mayweather no matter
what and then and look as a black man
the came off racist sometimes and they
may not have been racist but at the end
of the day it just seemed like Larry
Merchant always got a problem with Floyd
did you see that or or the viewers just
overthinking or overviewing what we were
looking at if they pay attention to the

old schooled and one of those guys who
feel like he should be able to tell you
what you should do or how you should do

questions back to him or I start
answering what I want to answer not what
he ask me so you got to know how to
handle got and I learned how to control
them and how to be a smarter person you

that you gotta know how to pick your
battles you understand me me being young
and Floyd being young and going after
this elderly you know guy Caucasian guy
it’s not gonna really look good overall
you feel me but if you use this right

pavley win the championship he just
jumps all on him so excited and I’m like

didn’t even know how to sugarcoat it to
me me personally he didn’t know how to
sugarcoat and listen we all root for our
race and I can’t say all of us at least
I do and that doesn’t mean that I’m
racist that just means I’m rooting for
my race but he he didn’t even know how
to finesse that [ __ ] um couple more
questions and then I’m Gonna Let You Go
yeah he didn’t try to I don’t think he
tried to um do you think Canelo will
ever fight
benitz um that’s a fight that I see
having to happen at some point if he
continues to box because if he continues
to box The Mex Mexican public is going
to demand it and if he don’t get what
they want it’s gonna be bad for him so I
don’t think they’re going to support him
much more if he don’t fight the Mexican
monster within the next two or three
fights and honestly he’s running out of
opponent anyway who else he gonna fight
he can’t fight a winner Beall and better
bef he already proved that he couldn’t
be beol so what else is he going to do
uh Jamal Charlo still 160 he has going
to 168 to avenge the loss for his
brother so what he got ha W who he
trying to fight now I think that fight
made have might have fell through for a
moment I’m not sure but at the same time
to me who else does the public want to
see him fight right now only the Mexican
monster so you can’t Avo him but one two
more fights and I think with the way the
sties are throwing the money around I
think they give him what he wants just
to see the fight happen and just said

Tyson how do you feel about that
matchup I knew that was coming and I

TV but in the world of boxing it the age
Gap is kind of what neutralizes it and
makes it interesting because Mike being
58 and him being basically 26 27 how old
is yeah it’s a huge age Gap so most
people think that no way that old man
should be able to keep that young lion
off of him but that’s not true this
ain’t an old man this is also an old
bear this old bear can keep any kind of
young lion off of him if he wants to so
when I heard that they implemented 16 oz
gloves and headgear my first comment to
that was they didn’t do those things to
protect Mike Tyson trust me so I just
dealt with the dude when he was 54 years
old the dude still hit harder than I
know what first time he hit me in the
chest like mule had kicked in my chest
so I know he still can punch and he’s
still very elusive it was elusive it was
very hard to hit him and I thought I’d
be to hit him easily because I’m So Fast
N it wasn’t that easy like I thought it
was gonna be so if Jake is
underestimating Mike he better have be
careful because if Mike comes ready and
in shape Mike gonna be a problem now
Mike underestimate Jake and don’t come
in shakee then Jake could be a problem
because Jake can’t

you just got in the ring with him and I
seen both you guys fight where do you
think his sto will be for this

energy because he never got tired

don’t think Jake can put enough pressure
on him to make it a long ruing fight for

learning on his job so Jake out as he

out there and just keep the pressure on
Mike and make Mike work constantly for
two minutes of every round he can’t do
that himself because he’ll burn out so I
think it’s safe for
Mike got you let and you mentioned
something about running out of fights
with Canelo and then even with tank you
mentioned how uh it’s nobody who gave
him that particular fight to escalate
him to be like he’s one of the best um
out doing it right now which I think he
is have you been in that situation
because it’s people that I argue with
about in your favor and they’re always
like oh Roy ain’t fighting nobody who
Roy really for do do you get that a lot
from different people because I think

career two of them James toner was the

better feet than him and that’s what
allowed me to make it look easy but it
really wasn’t because you had to stay
focused every second of every round or
he would have knocked you out that’s who
James was James likes how Tony people
don’t give him credit for it now but
James like saton was better one of the
better old school throwback Fighters
that you would ever see in this game you
understand me you couldn’t hardly hit
him with a clean punch and I was the
best most accurate puncher around you
understand me and you could not hard hit
that that’s one that’s one of my f we

yeah yeah I watch that all the time but
by the grace of God that came knowing
that he would copy me beforehand you
understand me so I would watch after I
fight and I would see him copy few my
moves so if you copy my moves you know
you’re not better than me cuz I’m not
copying your mov but you copying mine so

for a long time cuz he’s a really really
good fighter and he by far was the best
fighter uh skill-wise that I ever fought
the toughest fight I ever had was after
I lost all that 25 pounds and came back
and fought t for the first time I went
in the ring with no energy I went in the
ring for the first time ever in my life
with my tank on E when I got in the ring
you understand me so that was one of the
toughest fights ever because
I was pushed to the brink of if I wanted
to ever quit I could have because I was
like man I have no energy what am I
gonna do I sat down to the eighth round
and it was like God just like spoke to
me you said you want to regain the life
heavweight title right yes well here you
go you want it or you don’t want it I
told my coach give my mes I got up went
there fin him last four round like a dog
you hear me with no energy sir like a
dog for real for real they Ain never
seen a lot of people that think or claim
to be the best fighters ever or best
fighter around they weight class pound–
for pound they never seen them go
through nothing like that when they had
no energy from the fight from the
beginning of the fight and still go push
through it and win a 12 round fight tell
me how they do it they got to have this
right I already people want to say oh he
the most talented guy in the world no I
was the most talented I’m one of the
most skilled guys in the world and I got
this and it’s and that’s what matters
man yes sir yes sir hopefully we
hey like the song said they got the ner
to say I ain’t fight nobody why I put in

been in an environment where my man has

with the right circumstances right and
if you look at uh most owners who own
teams a lot of these guys have a lot of
things going on right and they leave the
responsibility to um the general
managers to basically make decisions on
who they’re going to bring in and you
know who’s going to uh help them help
them to leave the team and when I
thought about it man I was like I looked
at all uh 32 of the NFL teams I was like
who could he really go to that would
make sense where he can bring like his
experience his expertise and everything
that he has going on uh to take somebody
to the next level and I want y’all to
stay with me on these two picks right
and I thought to myself uh you know
there was some there was a rumbling
around him getting hated on by Robert CL
craft with Arthur Blank down there in um
uh Atlanta but I thought to myself with
like teams that just can’t get over the
heel or the hump per se and I thought
like could bill bich go to the Cowboys
and he be the Difference Maker uh with
Jerry Jones right we always know that
the Cowboys they have a bunch of pieces
that um that can help them get them to
the playoffs but they don’t have
anything that can take them there and I
was wondering to myself does Bill bich
have the intangibles that could you know
that he can lean on Jerry Jones and say

times and get there but I don’t know if
that ever happened and I thought like
selfishly I said the same thing about

responsibility to somebody else and you

is or even if he has a PR somebody of
that nature I think that they’re trying
to revent bill because he has a shrew
personality you know and and this just
all off of watching football we don’t

day but when he does his post game he
one words you when he does his pregame

frowning he always seems like he has an

and I’m not comparing his coaching to my
house but
after you know during my high
school um you know my my years through
high school I moved in with my
grandparents
and it was a generation gap so you know
[ __ ] that you may do with your parents
you been even though they might get mad
it was even worse with your grandparents
they’re like oh no I hold the [ __ ] on I
know your mother ain’t letting you get
away with this and Bill bich is a
grandfather where players May not be
able to adapt to his personality now
does that have anything to do with
winning no but sometime that matters
let’s look at this situation in Golden
state right I’m jumping to basketball
real quick you just won a
championship a championship you’re the
Golden State Warriors you won a

Chris Paul you’re here on the bench and
then it leads to Golden State in a
playing situation not only a playing
situation they lose and now Golden

had such great chemistry whether you
like somebody or not the chemistry led
to championships and Bill bich knows how
to win and sometime these kids may not
know how to deal with his personality
and I don’t know if that’s going to
translate into him getting a job or not
because it’s not up to the players who
own ERS and general managers and so on
and so forth higher but we don’t even

he wants the job you got to realize he’s
been a general manager as long as well
as the coach for years so he’s used to
picking the players and then coaching
them he may go into a situation let’s
say the situation with Atlanta when he
went for the job interview it could have
been a situation like
yo I know you want me to coach but I
gotta work with the GM too and they like
hold the [ __ ] on B they trying to give
you a coaching job nobody said we need
help in the GM office [ __ ] slow the

that may be a problem as well I really
don’t know what it is because he’s a
proven winner um all I can basically
boil it down is to his personality what
he wants from a particular team and is
it going to translate his coaching style
into today’s players because look people

college basketball one and done meaning
that they are eligible for the WB draft
after one year of playing do you guys
agree with Gino’s standpoint or do you
guys see some positives in in allowing
women athletes to be able to declare for
the draft after a
year oh no y’all know Yukon I got Yukon
is my team and so uh I do have to say I
respectfully disagree with him uh with
this and the way that I um the way that
I see or the point that I’m going to
make is that after I had seen uh ju guu
Watkins um the young girls from South
Carolina the Asian Reese the FL and what
Caitlyn Clark just did I’m pretty sure
that there’s somebody on the other end
of the spectrum be IT professional
sports that says man I wish that we can
get that attention up on this platform
right uh the NC the NBA already
subsidized this the uh WNBA salaries and
I I I hear them loud and clear like man
if we can just get those girls up here
and we can figure out how to Market them
better we need to basically take these
restri away right and I know what he’s
saying that people have grown up to love
the players and he has 11 championships
with Yukon and he wants to hold on kind
of like Bill bich and what uh Nick sa is
they want to hold on to what’s old but
me personally I think like getting these
girls uh who have social media media
followings now and who can get into
professional environments and they’re
able to move around more you’re able to
have a professional marketing brand be
able to Market them as Professionals in
their cities I think it helps sing sport
I just thoughted back to um and C maybe
you know more more of the players
remember when you had like uh Tina
Thompson and Cheryl swoops and just that
whole era of like players I think like
these are the younger girls who are
shephered into that and somebody had to
sit back and say hey man we’re we’re
sitting here watching this girl I think
like Caitlyn Clark had uh 19 million
views right and this was for a
Collegiate game where she was only
making it so much and she was an nio and
all this other [ __ ] and if somebody had
to say to ourselves like man can we re
can we release these restrictions bring
these girls to a professional
environment so you then can get the TV
viewership which then gets the the TV
Revenue up which then increases the
salary which then increases the game and
sometimes from a business standpoint
sometimes the Collegiate coaches just
may not know all of the mechanics with
how you drive value so I just see it
different yeah what I’ll say is and I
know you you um you you Ohio State then
is Yukon family so big shout out to the
Yukon family but G what the [ __ ] are you
talking about yo bro you just the other
day told Juju Watkin she should go pro
you just said that after y’all beat uh
USC I didn’t even read this topic I’m

your shoe your school is a Nike shoe
contract you can’t wear the Adidas you
can’t wear them because you’re under
contract with the school to wear the
sneakers that the school appli to so now
you missing out on that money or you
can’t do this because you can’t do that
so sometime nil
gets in the way of people’s money not
say nil the schools deals get in the way
of nil money for students so it’s like
yo because I just look you know and for
those that don’t know kitlin C just sign
over $20 million deal with Nike for
people that don’t know that she just
signed 20 M more than 20 M with Nike um
day before yesterday or yesterday I’m
not sure I seen it yesterday and what I
was saying to myself is and I don’t know
how who Iowa basketball signed up to or
whatever and I know it’s her last year
but let’s take this into consideration
let’s say she was a junior right she’s
let’s say she had another year to come
back Nike offer 20 million but I and
this is all uh this is not this is just
a scenario this is not real of course
it’s not real she’s going to the WNBA
but what I’m saying is what if she have
to come back Nike off for her 20 million
and like oh you can we’re Nike because
we’re uh uh aidas School you like yo
maybe I should just go to the WNBA and
go get this 20 M because y’all slowing
the process up so at the end of the day
it’s about the money even Caitlyn Clark
look I seen the and you know we’re using
her because right now she’s kind of the
standard of what’s going on her contract
four years 360 something million

she’ll make up for it on the

just offered a 5
million so you got to think about that

well her turning down that five million
to me it proves that she wants to move

light to go on the women she wants

to turn down when you working four years
for less than 400 and you could get five

athletes what do you have to say about

was this was probably my Super Bowl and
if y’all can go back probably like the
middle of the season when I was talking
about the legislation that was brought
up between Tennessee and Virginia these
are when I said the ultimate white man
fighting the white man it’s easy to beat
up kids and black kids who have no
representation but once you start going
against state employees and senators and
and people who are bringing bills and uh
uh going to fight them you’re in the
different fight right and I was happy
because now people have seen how to slay
the dragon now they’ve said okay
Virginia and just so I can make this
make sense for people who just may not
know say Okay Maurice what is the
significance the significance is this
you have schools who don’t have to go
out and go get small business owners to
raise money to give to their athletes
now they can just go in their own
pockets and say hey if I want to sign if
if stat is a player and I want to sign
stat and she’s the number one player
coming out of high school I can reach in
my own pocket and legally pay you
without the NCAA interfering and so the
school then can raise a [ __ ] ton of
money the school can then redirect and
recruit who they want to right and now
if you look at who else else is fighting
during the same stuff you have South
Carolina Mississippi Oklahoma Nebraska
all schools who are or all areas who
normally probably have great schools and
great endowments uh but they don’t have
the small business owners who probably
raise money for the nil collectives and
so for me I was happy as [ __ ] because
this means that the ball is moving
forward and that kids and and the stuff
that Harbaugh was talking about last
year they’ll start to get compensated
more because this is what people don’t
understand and the best way I can
explain is this when you have a football
game it’s the equivalent of having a
concert or a Summer Fest every [ __ ]
weekend where you have huge parking you
have 60 70 80,000 [ __ ] in the
stadium and you have them paying top
dollar for entertainment and for your
favorite artist you’re going there to
watch your favorite artist and these
people know when it comes to football
you’re coming to watch your favorite
player who happens to be that guy or
that girl whoever it may be and now
schools are saying like in order for us
to compete with Ohio State and Dion what
he has going on to Colorado we need to
spend for these players and we need to
quit acting like this as amateur
Athletics and so this rule allows the
school to say [ __ ] it like you know we
can go ahead and get in the game and
compete where we probably couldn’t
compete before uh because you see we we
increase enrollment we increase
merchandise we sell these [ __ ] hotel
rooms on campus uh we we enroll kids to
come to our campus this is another thing
that people don’t know know when you
enroll more kids into your campus and
then you uh you employ kids after they
graduate in the same city or the same
state that they or or the same the same
city that you get in you get more
federal dollars to your school so it’s
it’s actually a long game that these
people are playing uh and it’s really
worth it’s really this is really bigger
than football or any other sport so I’m
happy for it to say the least but uh
often times like when I read the
comments I need to elaborate and tell
people I get so happy about [ __ ] so that
was just my best
