hello and welcome to a very special live
recording of the stuk clubs podcast at
The Crucible I’m Mark Watson and I’m
delighted to be joined on stage by my
regular co-host stepen Henry and fellow
comedian John
[Applause]
Richardson
um firstly hope well it says in the
script hope you’ve all enjoyed your free
wine you’ll be aware if you listen to
the podcast that La weights have
recently become sponsors and uh that
we’re permanently now when we do the
podcast um and they told us everyone
here got a free wine did you have anyone
get
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
one I think this it all you can see how
easily this can go wrong
um hope had a nice time um on the
podcast we’re going to talk about
obviously Crucible memories we’re going
to be joined uh by and there’s no other
way to say this Jud Trump which is
um and according to the advertising Luca
brel but he’s uh pulled out so um yeah I
know I’m telling you now because uh yes
that is how I break it to you yeah but
yeah I know
[Laughter]
[Music]
um Trump’s here I um
hey yeah look if you want a multiple
world champion this guy I mean is a
while ago but
um and
also it took it took about what one
minute two minutes two minutes I I think
we’re all aware they’ve uh they’ve won a
very similar number of world
championship Ser each are they um up to
now up to now yes well we can all talk
about who we think is most likely to
make it to eight soon
um that I don’t but me I’ve done 15
episodes of the podcast with this guy
and every time he says no I’ve not
really been playing snook on moter golf
these days so I
um because this is a live one we can say
things we don’t normally cover um yes
we’re going be joined by J Trump uh John
richon will be taking on our
uh regular quiz we’ll be looking ahead
to of course the reason that we’re all
in Sheffield this year’s World
Championship which begins tomorrow
morning um and and then the next bullet
point on the script just says many
thanks to Le weights I’ve already done
this but we can’t make it clear enough
how important Le weights wine are
um so that’s basically it bit of snooker
talk uh mostly wine and um obviously uh
this this
is Trump seat uh Henry here richon here
how are you doing both of you for start
obviously Ste you you’ve been here a
number of times um is it weird coming
back I mean you didn’t I know you didn’t
even me to qualifying but how does it
feel just coming purely without any
playing interest at all you know what I
was I was speaking to Steve up the
winter garens about it said you’re still
getting excited coming to Sheffield and
and he and we both agree we still get
excited coming to Sheffield in April
because it’s just it’s just that time of
year that that we always spent so many
times yeah years coming here I think my
first time playing here was 86 or 87
played Willie Thor on that table there
um lost in the first round but um yeah
it’s itless it’s everyone’s ambition
when you start playing to play at The
Crucible it’s just it’s just such a
special place um and and as I say this
time of year it’s it’s Sheffield yeah
and how do you feel well I mean she is
Sheffield I feel okay I
yeah to be clear it will still be sheff
in May but uh do do you wish do you wish
you part of it or you of course I do
yeah I mean this is I mean I’m so
jealous when I’m in that commentary box
watching The Players walk out and
playing here I mean it’s just the the
best place to play and the worst
actually CU if you’re not playing well
there there’s there’s nowhere you’d
rather not be than being in those chair
because everyone’s so close to you you
can’t you walk back to your chair see
you missed a black office spot you’re
like I’m bar you walk back to your chair
and you sort of think that the person in
the crow sitting next he’s looking at
you thinking what the was that you know
what I mean like you know what I mean
it’s like you can feel it you can feel
I’m saying yeah yeah yeah like so it’s
so it become it become quite quite
intimidating well we were talking about
this before John you’ve been here as a
punter several times you’re so close to
the players it’s unbelievable you’re too
close let’s be honest and I I have
identified a few people in your audience
that shouldn’t be allowed in
tomorrow find them out that’s what this
is It’s a filtration exercise basically
yeah yeah I I would advise most of these
people aren’t allowed back Steve Davis
baned um yeah I’ve been very I’ve been
here a few times I live in Sheffield um
now so I can confirm you know it’s great
in April but where are you guys in
September where are you guys when I’m
playing on Shale Road on a wet September
afternoon nobody you’ve been a few
venues aren’t how does this compared to
say the Masters which is obviously a
completely different atmosphere it’s
just it’s such a cliche to say it but
because it’s a theater it feels like
theater it’s the it’s the you know we
were talking about the Masters before
and it’s it’s a rowdier thing
you know I’m known for being a sort of
Rowdy guy
myself don’t get me wrong I I love it
when it’s a
te when it’s kicking off on the Telly
I’m I’m back in the
shushers it takes a lot of guts to be a
shusher in a crowd like this and
somebody’s opening M teas too loudly
somebody has to thank you very much yeah
I mean is that front row is so close to
the to the table how conscious are you
of the crowd when you very close I’ve
actually I I was when we came out here
before to to to see the place um see the
venue they’ve actually opened this out a
lot more than what it usually is
actually the players chairs are they’ve
got a bit more room around here this I’m
sure that the partition would be a lot
further out um to be even closer yeah
but I mean when you’re walking back if
you’ve missed a shot you’re walking back
to your seat and then a player walking
to the table you’ve got to like move I
mean obviously the infamous Jud uh
Ronnie and Ali Carter bump yeah on that
table because it’s there’s so little
room but those guys have sorted their
differences out now I believe
[Laughter]
because it’s the official world s
podcast we don’t really get into players
beefs but there’s a fair bit I
am so your first your first match
against Wily Thor Wily Thor yeah lost 10
eight um I remember I had um a lovely
mullet I most of I had a lovely brown
brown suit on that I’ve bought
especially for for for the occasion um
and I played well when I was coming down
to play I thought just don’t get beat
10- n it was my first time at the
crucial first time on a major Tour on
major team I thought just don’t
embarrass yourself and I got to 108 um
and I I don’t really I don’t think I
really had a chance to win at the end of
the match but I lost 10 and I always
remember cuz Willie was sort of clapping
me out if we Sho hands he’s clapping me
out and I watched it back I thought yo
stop clapping me
like you’ll know if if you listen to the
podcast Stephen doesn’t really he
doesn’t like any other
players he doesn’t respect the idea of
players being nice to each other but
then the following year but yeah I came
back the following I think I lost to Joe
Johnson maybe in the second round I’m
not I’m not I’m not sure I’m not
entirely sure but um Johnson who’d won
it in 86 that’s right yeah that’s right
yeah um but I remember having been here
and I’m sure it’s for the guys that
qualify you just you just want to
qualify you just want to come back be
here I mean and and and even when you
get to the one table like Cesar Wei who
got to the semi-finals last year I’m
sure he’s thinking I’m just D to get
back to that one table situation yeah
what was it like when you said what is
it 89 your first uh first one oh first
time in that one table uh yes I think so
I lost to Steve in the semi-final um and
it was it was um yeah it was a time
where Steve was still still still the
top still The Benchmark um and it it was
a decent enough match he beat me quite
comfortably um but that was my first
time the one table and it’s just it it
it’s like almost two venues really when
you have the two tables and you go to
the one there’s so much space around
yeah um and it’s quite um it’s it’s just
it’s just special and it’s it can make
here or break a snooker player uh John
what are your first memories of watching
it I mean I it’s it’s it’s the man there
that that period of feel old now I don’t
you know I remember I was six months
old but I mean that period of dominance
as a weedy little guy with with not a
lot going on in his life I that era when
it was you and it was schumacker in
Formula 1 and it was s press in 10 I
adored that cuz there is a really
British thing of loving the underdog and
all that I I hate that yeah I don’t like
that cuz I I I always used to think what
it’s like for your your first round is
somebody else’s final and every game you
play at every stage everybody wants to
beat you and most of the crowd want you
to lose just because you’re winning all
the time and to carry on winning I think
it’s absolutely exceptional yeah I think
you’ve got to enjoy being the sort of
Target and being being I think there’s
some been some players who maybe don’t
enjoy being favor being being the the
person to beat but I loved it and just
um it was just to be announced as as the
world champion or the world number one
and and yeah I think I think sort of I
took on that sort of sort of coldness
from from Steve I learned a lot from
Steve in terms of individual sport how
to be that sort of cold and and
miserable shall we say sort of
compliment I
get I learn a lot from you about being I
took it to new levels from Steve I took
it to whole new levels what’ you think
it’d be like for for Luca brel
being introduced as world champion and
and and defending a title like that it
will it will hit him I think I think
he’s a type of character that’s probably
all year not thought it going to bother
him at all because you know the way he
won he didn’t practice and he was going
back to Belgium in between and and and
going in and all sorts of things in
winning not taking the tournament very
Ser incredible but so you kind of think
will it bother him but I think when he
comes out tomorrow as announc his
defending Champion um I mean first I
mean will say he do not tonight because
he’s he’s got a bad throat he he’s not
ill but I was surprised he agreed to
come in the first place hammered on the
Euro star back
from can’t even remember what he’s doing
tomorrow roll in at 5 to 10 but I I was
like I can’t believe he’s even agreed to
do it though because at the morning the
night before the he’s on at 10 tomor
morning yeah if they’ they wouldn’t even
got the question out if they’d ask me no
chance so but he’s a different kind of
person but it’s yeah walking out there
on table table one tomorrow at 10 he’s
even backstage I think that’s when it’ll
hit him the realization of what he
achieved last year and what he’s got to
defend this year what he now got
yeah you get noise like that I think
it’s fine he’s doing sound tonight we
should point that
out he’s having an up and down night so
far it’s almost time to get our first
guest on stage but before we do let’s
take a quick look back at the 20232 24
season up to this point the 2023 24
snooker season began with Shawn Murphy
winning the championship league in
Leicester Barry Hawkins was then
Victorious at the European Masters in
nurburg Rono Sullivan Reigns Supreme in
Shanghai Mar Williams won the race in
sheltonham Jud Trump then won three
consecutive events in Brentwood Wuhan
and
Belfast and Jang Ander a new face to
some won the International
Championship Mark Allen was kazoo
champion of champions and Rono Sullivan
lifted his eighth UK championship title
Mark Allen won his 10th ranking title at
the shootout in Swansea whilst Gary
Wilson retained his Scottish open Crown
in
Edinburgh then Alexandra Palace rodo
Sullivan won his eighth Master’s Crown
beating Ali Carter in the
final and then carried on his great form
beating Jud Trump in the world gr Prix
the former bounce back well though
winning the German Masters At The Temper
drum before Gary Wilson won his second
home Nations Title of the season in
cland didno Mark Allen then won in the
PLAYERS Championship in Telford with
Rono Sullivan victorious in the
inaugural Riad season masters of
snooka Jud Trump hit this W shot in Yan
to win his fifth title of the
Season ran Evans and Luca brassell won
the world mixed doubles at Manchester
Central before Mark Williams produced an
absolute masterclass to beat rodo Sunan
in the Tour Championship
and now we’re in Sheffield where all
roads lead to the kazoo World
Championship well there you go and on
the eve of the World Championship it’s
time to welcome our second guest uh of
the evening onto the stage one of the
players everyone is looking forward to
seeing the most here it is the Ace in
the pack Jud Trump
[Applause]
he’s to be to be clear he’s not playing
yet hey how you doing man yeah good
thank you you’re on tomorrow obviously
what’s it like the night
before H you can just feel that there’s
some kind of different tension when you
comes to this tournament even backstage
the day before driving into the city is
a different feeling so I think
everyone’s just buzzing and for me when
I’m here I just want to get going I’ll
get that first game out of the way see
how I’m playing is it good to be playing
on the first day rather than have to
wait around uh I don’t know I’ll tell
you
tomorrow would you go home if you won
would you go home or because you’ll have
probably five or six days in between it
depends how I feel if I play really well
then I want to stay around and soak it
in with everyone in Sheffield just stand
on the street come up to me yeah
the first round if I struggle a bit I’ll
go and get some proper practice okay
this have you noticed this is a lot more
room um for the first round don’t you
think yeah I’m not I’m not sure about
that picture
there seen
that I think they’ll get rid of that but
it seems a bit different me it’s about
time at an upgrade I think um what table
are you on are you on this one this one
I think two I think it would be this one
this one you got a favorite no no no no
I Al I don’t know not because was like
defending Champion that but I I just
always preferred that table be defending
Champion
here see you see my my pip my pipe and
slippers yeah Steven used to be a
snooker player
yeah there there’s a table there as
well uh you’ve had quite a season
obviously um well five titles yeah it do
you feel they coming into it into this
in in a good play I mean you’ve had
amazing season but does it does that
help when you get here or is this like
something different from from everything
else I think every other tournament you
you you feel full of confidence I think
with this tor you kind of no matter how
you’ve played in the whole season you’re
still eager to get that first frame out
of the way just to get on the board to
to make a centry or something like that
and and feel relaxed I think it’s just
so different I think as you know it’s it
doesn’t matter how you played in the
last tour you could win the last
tourament and come and play absolutely
terrible which is
in most other events you can’t do that
but yeah we’ve seen lots of players here
who have come from nowhere and they just
it’s just their moment and uh but
obviously you have had an incredible uh
season so as Ronnie are you sort of
hoping to meet Ronnie in the semis or do
you not think about what’s happening or
would you rather go out earlier
yeah yeah
was you planning to throw it in the
super well I suppose what I mean is
someone could knock him out but is there
a feeling you you’d like it feels like
The Season’s been building up to you too
I’ve seen you say in interview yeah a
final showdown sort of thing I yeah I
know what you mean if if I’m there
honestly I would I would rather play him
than him get knocked out just because I
feel until I’ve beaten him here I’ll
always have something to prove it and
people always like oh you didn’t beat
Ronnie so I feel like that’s the the one
big test left for me I think if you can
beat Ronnie on the way to to winning the
World Championship then there’s no one
else can ever say anything again yeah
yeah that’s he’s like the he’s the boss
end of yeah end end of conversation yeah
since since Manchester have you been
just put pounding the hours on the
practice table just just literally every
day yeah every day since then so
normally I’m someone that practices a
lot on my own I’ve had uh chat lazowski
come come down to play me two or three
times just just to get that sharpness
and uh I kind of knew he was going to
qualify he was playing well in in
practice I kind of knew he was going to
do well so it’s nice is like in horse
race in terms of a bit of a form guide
so I know he’s I was playing well
against him so hopefully that will come
out tomorrow what I’m going to ask you
about Jack this is a tough question what
do you think he needs to do to win a
tournament because I think he’s my
opinion is he just has to realize how
good he is because he’s as talented as
anyone out there what what what do you
do you speak about it with him because
you’re obviously best mates no never
speak no I
mean I’ve tried to give him advice viice
right uh I really have it and I’d love
nothing more than him to win a
tournament cuz he wins one he wins one
win LS right yeah as long as he’s not
against me I never want I don’t mind
friendship yeah yeah it’s got his limits
so I think it’s just mental with him he
he does have the technically he’s
unbelievable scoring Wise It’s just in
in the head it’s so tough to teach I
think because you know you you’ve either
got or you haven’t yeah I think he’s
tinkered a bit too much with different
coaches and so on I think gone back to
basics and I think that will suit him
now right
good when it was your first time winning
here do you remember having to sort of
break through a mental barrier you have
to sort of to think to yourself like did
you struggle with the sense of obviously
you were very young when you first when
you well you got to the final very early
on but then that first win took a little
bit of time is it in your mind I need to
win I need to win a world championship
or or was it not a thing for you uh no I
definitely felt the expectation every
that goes past I think when I was 21 I
got to the final against Higgin against
Higgins I didn’t win I didn’t really
care I just thought oh every year I’m
going to come here and get to the final
now this is easy and then it’s funny
what Robertson said as well isn’t he he
said once he got to the semis once he
was like I assume I’m going to always be
in the in the semis so then after that
two years goes past three years four
years and then you got people like stev
like if he is ever going to win it and
stuff like that and it’s my job to be
honest yeah so the Assassin yeah it’s
horrible hry again yeah and you just
don’t want that label of of yeah being
kind of getting to like 40 and you You’
never won the World Championships so oh
I’m
there it starts to like both of us
won’t yeah but we’ve we’ve made
different choices to be fair we have
yeah not practiced as hard as Jud I
don’t think so the band here is very
different to me and you backstage at a
gig like pounding the hours practicing
for this gig or yes some yeah you just
as a comedian you just want your life to
go to pieces and then you can talk about
it on stage
that’s do you practice differently for
this because it’s they’re such long
matches would you practice any
differently or does it not make any
difference because you sort of can’t
prepare for the last frame of a 35 frame
match I don’t think there’s a lot that
that I can do I think a lot of my
practice is based around concentration
which is I feel like it’s good for this
kind of thing I’m trying to miss as
little balls is try and go 1 hour
without missing or 10 different things
without missing so I feel like a lot of
other players would practice maybe long
shots or something and their
concentration is not able to handle or I
think when I won it here I was able to
play the whole game for like the two
days without really missing an easy ball
which is what you what you need to do so
I feel like my my game is is geared up
to this event you just I’ve just not
proved it
yet even what you always said is the key
to winning here is is it’s not the hard
shots it’s putting away the simple just
not messing up the yeah I say it again
and again in commentary if you go
through without missing an easy shot you
probably win a tournament it’s the easy
ones that cost you it always is it’s
never the difficult shots um but I I I
used to think that practicing for this
the week or two before I wouldn’t do
anything differently but for some
subconsciously you’d be putting a little
bit more effort in into the practice not
not doing it deliberately but you just
feel because you knew it was a world
championship I just
felt it’s at the end of each day I
thought wow I really put a lot into that
like like mentally as well as physically
um cuz it’s just the one you want to be
prepared for but still though you don’t
you’re not guaranteed playing well in
the first round you just want to get
through the first round don’t you and
then then you’re in then you’re in the
tournament it doesn’t matter how you get
through the first round as long as you
win it right if you win if you play well
as a bonus yeah I think the the first
round is best of 19 you just want to get
through that yeah have a few days you
got a tough round tough draw yeah
yeah let’s not be yeah we’ll see
um but it’s in a way that’s good right
because you know you’ve got to play well
or you’re going out I think I’m someone
that
in I’m putting a good frame of mind here
before then before they then this is why
players love talking to step on the no
if I got a tough first round I used to
think well it sort of clarifies your
mind because if you’re playing someone
who’s who’s like well he’s not going to
beat me you go out and you’re not
concentrated probably you’re not focused
you’re not like and then you play by and
you can put yourself under pressure but
but then you know Jud knows how good
Hussein is and and and you know he knows
what he’s going to do cool yeah
true much better than get e draw yeah um
some of the draws I used to get
wow name
names surrender Gil he said in the last
episode of the podcast DUS beenin Danny
Fowler he said sometimes I used to I
used to the draw used to come out and i’
I’d be like right I’m in the
quarterfinals already
it is is vastly different nowadays there
there there’s really you know there’s
obviously two or three you would rather
have over others but I
mean I mean I’m trying to think who got
through who would you have wanted uh in
that draw probably Dominic wouldn’t be a
bad one having the first rounded He
he’ll be listening to this podcast no
sorry sorry sorry I’m just I’m I’m just
plucking out we all love him he’s going
to listen to his podcast and Slaughter
me now but um um I’m trying but but but
but the thing is that’s the thing I’m
trying to think about and there’s not
it’s not the same anymore no you could
you could lose to to any of the players
that come through yeah well we’ve seen
like Robertson go out even in qualifying
yep you know Jack out to qualify the
standards so high yeah um why do you
think it is so much tougher now just
like why are there so much the standard
um as I’ve found in the in the
qualifying matches that I’ve played um
and I’ve had to start right at the
bottom even down there the first rounds
the quality of the safety play um the
quality of The Brak building is just
night and day as to what it was back in
the ’90s in those early early rounds um
and I think it’s due to some of the
practice routines and I think a lot of
players are practicing more and they’ve
got these complicated way setting the
Reds and everything and it’s improving
the CU ball control I think beyond
beyond anything so yeah the listen I
mean there’s still I think when you get
to the top level it’s it’s it’s all
about you know here and here at the same
Under Pressure but the lower rounds you
got to be on it yeah and I wasn’t
no and you’re still not to be fair you
sort of can’t when you’ve done what
you’ve done that must be impossible
turning up at a sports center and want
it’s it’s it’s not fun I’m not going to
lie it’s not fun um because you play for
you know Jud I’m sure Jud the same you
you want to get a bit in inspired by a
big crowd or or a venue and when you’ve
played here so many times in front of
packed audiences and to be in a sort of
walking past a swimming pool to get to
get to get to the people people are with
their towels and their kids with Rub
rubber bands and everything and you got
your queue and your diners suit on
you’re like oh my God like it it it
doesn’t really inspire you to break
who’s that man why you got a
suit we’ve got some fan questions for
Jud which I don’t know any of them could
have come from people in this room um
Matthew on Twitter says talk us through
the moment when Ronnie want his seventh
World title and he hugged
you how did you reflect on that he
says
um you would have talked about this
before probably I mean is it was
difficult one because
obviously I’d already accepted um after
the first two sessions I was so far
behind I kind of knew it was going to be
inevitable so you’re kind of more
prepared and you’ve accepted it already
rather than if it was 17 or when I’d
lost on the black so kind of in my head
already knew there’s a good chance I was
going to lose and I just for me
sometimes I I’m a bad loser this time I
knew I was going to take it well I knew
I was going to congratulate him but I
didn’t expect him to come over and react
like that so there wasn’t really a lot I
could do obviously it was nice
yeah you get away from me but yeah I I I
didn’t really know what to say in in the
moment um but looking back now it was a
nice touch maybe just a little bit long
um hopefully if if I if I beat him he’ll
do the same but
to click onto him for five minutes yeah
he
lik um similar sort of question here Dan
on Twitter do you keep catch up in the
fridge or the
cupboard this I hate to bring this up
it’s going to divide divide the room our
cupboard
[Laughter]
there you
go couple of Ronny fans up
there well we’ll try it with the CR uh
give us a cheer for
fridge and
cupboard majority with Jud
there uh Andy on Instagram what will you
do when you retire and does it involve
Las
Vegas it’s a long time I’m presuming
commentary hopefully I’ve earned enough
to not
[Laughter]
[Applause]
that I do it for I Do It For the Love of
the Game no
don’t I think we’ve answered that one
hey
um Liz on Facebook says how do you keep
your your shirts looking so crisp when
you’re on
tour who irons
them uh
no uh I think when I was younger I was a
bit scruffy and I didn’t really care I
think as you get older you try to look
after your appearance a little bit more
so yeah if I have to iron it I’ll iron
it reluctantly
yeah uh Paul on Facebook if you had to
give up snooker now but you’re allowed
to play one more match who would it be
against oh
I I remember I remember my my last
season I beat you in
Germany you remember that no I don’t
remember that no blanked that out
completely blanked out we didn’t want it
to get ugly like this but U was I still
nappies then
what D to the table
Yeah be it’ be a different result now a
different result now
uh yeah difficult isn’t it I suppose it
could be any player past or present I I
think I would like to play Steven in his
in his prime I think so we’re going back
a bit we’re going back a little bit did
you ever play Steve Davis did you ever
play
Steve your careers went have cross gone
Steve they used to be a guy called Steve
Davis Steve Davis yeah no I think I
would have liked to have gone back just
to obviously just to have seen the
standard and seen how much bigger the
ETS were back
[Laughter]
then you played me you SE comy those
chairs were I tell
you um now we I don’t know how good an
idea this is but we’re going to take
questions for Jud from the floor um
there’s a there’s a don’t ask the people
on the floor I mean if they’re at least
sat in a chair yeah yeah yeah on the
floor we mean people who have made it to
a seat yeah um so I think there’s a guy
with with a mic going around so yeah or
rather to be fair a woman with a mic
yeah yep why not there do you um like
when it comes to this and I guess any
competition are there certain players
that you get you look forward to just
like spending time with and socializing
with backstage and stuff like is there
apart from Jack obviously like is there
anybody in particular that you just look
forward to seeing and being able to just
have a good chat with not really no
no see you think it’s just me you think
it’s just me that’s the answer that step
wanted we all know if L to the podcast
you know Steven takes a very dim view of
everybody speaking to another player
yeah you don’t you don’t see him I don’t
there there’s a few people I think
Jack’s the only only one I think around
my age with similar things in common I
think the rest of them are not really
into the same things as me so I struggle
to to speak to and would it be weird
anyway because you like if you’re in a
competitive environment with him’ be
strange to sort of socialize I don’t
want to get too friendly with I think
Steven’s always been at that kind of
mindset I don’t I want to find something
to hate about him when I’m out there so
I don’t want to get too friendly you
could be his coach
mate can I just ask we’re smarted by
lways why are we drinking water I don’t
know we’re not allowed to in case we
drop wine on the carpet I believe it is
yeah see I
know yeah yeah you just pour red on top
I believe yeah he any more questions on
from the floor for Jud well they will we
um hi I’ve got a bit of an odd question
I think actually I’m interested in the
diet of a sneaker player like you boys
um I don’t were you boys like eat I
don’t know chicken vindaloo the night
before a big game or like what’s it all
about Pastor in the morning like Wayne
Rooney or what’s it all
about what have you had I think I’ll
defer to Jud here oh God
um yeah I think the the one thing that I
seem to eat a lot up here is it seems to
be a favorite
[Laughter]
Greg’s uh there’s nothing nothing
special I think for
me nothing just nothing too heavy like I
can’t be having a massive meal right
before I I walk out um but there’s
nothing I’m not strict there’s no
there’s not chicken salads or anything
like that either did you see before my
matches I wasn’t even hungry at all see
if I was playing at 2:30 in the
afternoon I wouldn’t have a single thing
cuz I wouldn’t have an appetite was
before before a match I don’t know if
you’re the same or you can eat before no
I I normally I’m normally eating in the
dressing room right okay but not nothing
nothing too heavy I think if I’m playing
sort of eight nine frames I need to eat
something other I feel I feel drained
yeah you wouldn’t at all you wouldn’t
have have breakfast or anything nothing
nothing at all I wouldn’t and my My Old
Coach Frank Callen who’s from Blackpool
and he couldn’t he couldn’t believe it
you got to feed your brain and all that
you got to Fe but I just had no appetite
cuz I was so like like Cold Spring just
ready I go and play guy’s not human we
knew
it I made up for
[Laughter]
it one more uh yeah maybe time for one
more uh one for all four panelists uh
how often in practice are you getting a
one67 yeah John you can answer this well
I remember my first world championships
um I never uh my high bre is 24 and I’ve
done it three times we Max I just need
to realize how good I am I
just me and Jack are the same you’re
holding yourself back sit me down and
say cuz once you get over that first one
and I make my first quarter Century I
think I will win a title yeah wasn’t you
regularly making 30s and 40s I played at
uh Peak sports and social club not long
ago and I haven’t played for a couple of
years and I thought you know what
actually pretty good and I I came out
and the woman who runs it said did you
enjoy more being on the three4 size
table
then I didn’t even realize it was a full
size table pie of this
game similarly I’ve never made over
about 20 and of course the 167 is beyond
most people cuz well presumbly you never
even saw it before I think it’s
obviously it’s very different I think I
think is very very tough um with the
position of it I think obviously it’d be
good that happens one day just hope hope
it’s me no one else yeah it’s quite a
lot money is it yeah yeah but it’s on
the bolt cushion is it you got but you
can get it off during the you can you
can get it off I
think obviously he not going to be in
every single tourament I don’t know if
it’s something that you would have like
to to be the first to do um yeah well I
mean I’d love to been first to do
everything really but um but yeah I mean
I watched it I watched it inside and
John Higgins obviously had a chance um I
don’t know John Higgins said something
that the texture of the ball was
different to the other balls or
something is that right it was like not
as not as like shiny or yeah different
kind of so he said going along the
cushion whether it would actually pot or
not but well maybe it didn’t go that’s
why they put up that
price not be possible the ball might
have just
exploded dust the pocket appears
yeah we’re going to go to an interval
now I think um it’s been amazing to have
him here thank you very much J let’s
here for Jud
Trump and yeah that is interval time I
don’t know whether the L weights free

Championship there is so much more drama
still to come anyway um our um commedian
guest tonight give it up again John
Richardson
um we’ve talked a little bit about it
John but what are your early Crucible
memories is your same sort of age as me
it’s those early it’s late 80s early 90s
those late night
matches memories is that is that what
happened with you guys obviously you
finished a gig and and and the only
thing on late at night was was was
snooker was that how it happened oh well
we we’re kids at this point Stephen oh
sorry I have to remind you again um but
actually the late night thing is that
it’s certainly one of the reasons I got
into because you you just allowed to
watch it really late right yeah and then
there’s that getting back in and that
there’s highlights where they just pick
the wrong B
and then the best highlights are like
the 1 till 3:00 a.m. but you got to push
through the match you’ve just seen
snooker extra that’s the hardcore fans
watch that absolutely got pushed through
did you have well you’ve mentioned your
admiration for Steph just because of the
way he dominated were there other
players you remember from the the early
days the uh a Paul Hunter I loved not
you
[Music]
know very rare to get like some
personality and back it up by being
exceptional as well and there’s not many
people can do that and like dynamite to
watch and I’m sorry I never got to see
him life yeah there’s no doubt in my
mind he he he could have won this
because he what he he he loved the big
occasion and he had bottle yeah Under
Pressure um and that’s that’s what you
need here more than almost more than
talent to win here it’s all about bottle
pressure sorry who was that yeah
Charisma
Charisma go yeah he was openly having
sex during the intervals he
[Laughter]
um yeah sorely missed Paul Hunter but uh
not forgotten by anyone in this room um
and obviously we’ve still got the PO
Hunter classic he’s he’s got his legacy
and we um what is it about snooky that
that you love well I mean there’s very
few sports that you can watch on telly
and it’s prime time and then you can go
and do when you’re 10 so like you can’t
you know I’m never going to get like 22
Lads together for a game of like Cricket
or you know I I only had one friend so
yeah very much had to be a head-to-head
sport yeah a certain type of person that
is drawn to individual sports as a
teenager yeah you find that corner of a
snooker Club in moram where you’re not
supposed to be in at your age and no one
questions how you got there and then you
I mean it was like three quid an hour or
something me and my friend Lee would
play right it took us an hour to play a
frame
and we kept score for like eight years
and it was about 16 1550 just an
absolute Grudge Match where you don’t
quite know what the Miss rule is so you
just keep putting it back until the
other player smashes all the balls back
and then says well he put that back then
and then that’s the early days of my
snooker career snooker is quite good
value if if a frame takes you as long as
it do and I have to credit snooker for
getting me into countdown because it was
being in the dev in the West End of
morham where for no reason at all all
the snooker would stop at half four and
all the old men would gather around the
Telly behind the bar and play countdown
as absolutely angrily and passionately
as they just play
fantastic your good old days is half an
hour 4:00 Whitely in V man that’s it’s
gone downhill
now um have have you met snooker players
before but obviously in the presence of
well I’ve passed you Stephen a few times
in corridors when I’ve blagged my way in
and I’ve absolutely soiled myself every
time
the first time I came here I was on tour
and I said oh can I get some tickets and
they got me uh I think I went through
Toby Foster the the yeah the boss of
comedy in Sheffield Sheffield Mafia Don
and he said yeah I get you some tickets
yeah yeah just turn up there there you
want I thought I would be like who do
you want to win I’ll come in the back
door and someone said oh if you just go
up there and through that door and I
opened the door and it was into that
room there John parrot was there and
Steve D absolutely soiled myself sat in
the cor with a little water like that
and um that was it yeah it’s I mean we
often ask well on the podcast we have a
regular thing watch SLE players have you
met and loads of people have got a story
of walking past Henry almost saying
hello and then his Vibe
suggest every episode someone emails
going I saw Stephen he was shopping I I
was I nearly approached him and I
decided not
to there’s so many of those St you know
when you say like like Damon H always
he’s here to watch Ronnie and people
like that and I’ve I’ve gone to a few
things where I think well you know
probably going to become best friends
with the footballer and to this day I
still only have one friend I’ve gone to
that there’s not a sport I’ve been to
where I think you know maybe I’ll get
backstage and get chatting I think oh
it’s pretty funny exclusively I’m in my
car the minute the event finishes you
know I said I might be out on the Steven
hry yeah I’ll be back in 10
minutes yeah update I’m not Ste snuker
is funny for that though because you’re
aware the players are they’re just in
the hotels they’re out and you know if
you went to Wimbledon you would have no
expectation of just running into one
players but even though these guys are
huge Stars you still are aware they’re
just they’re knocking about in the did
the players go out in the in the bars
and stuff after no I don’t I don’t think
so there’s obviously everyone would have
their sort of favorite restaurants in
Sheffield that that that they would go
to quite a lot I mean I think obviously
piccolino’s down the road I think you
see a few players that could it’s very
handy um I remember I don’t know if it’s
still there I used to go to chese called
the Zinga anyone it was down in the the
precinct is it still there oh sh okay
that so that was we we because
invariably you want somewhere that’s
open late right so so yeah that that was
one of one of the places we used to go
um maybe I’ll set up a late night
restaurant yeah I tell you because weeks
Mak snooker players looking at a
tournament looking for late food just
find out a popup wherever the tournament
is
there you go what I mean that’s
glamorous in it I do I did meet Yan vas
and I was a star struck meeting Yan vas
cuz I used to have a routine in one of
my tours about basically said I love
snooker because it’s just tidying up you
basically get a messy table Yeah whoever
whoever cleans up the most wins and I
said if if you ever go live when they
finish the frame someone comes out with
a little
Hoover talk about Yan V the big hands
but very gentle yeah
thinking about it and what I know of
you’d be weird if you weren’t into
snooka really absolutely so much of it
is just admin yeah yeah yeah I’m into
snooker and Drummond base those are my
two great
Passion so how often do you actually
play now how often do you play SN I
probably play like three or four times a
year and it’s always one of those oh
yeah we’ve got to get back into this now
and we’ve got to go every week and then
you know it’s life and it a club here in
Sheffield or yeah I go to uh Peak Sports
just I used to be the Ry I think
remember got darts there and theyve got
po so you can as you get more play there
yeah did you yeah did you he me for a
game of snooker and he and he drove me
which was a hairy experience I tell you
but um yeah he was he was mad K it was
so funny because I played him once here
and and I played no I didn’t play him I
play Darren Morgan and Nasim came to
watch me and he sat they used to guests
used to be able to sit there was Rose
here the Press Box us to coming I don’t
know if you did I sat with my dad
underneath that camera there I had to
ask to be moved cuz I was like he said
enough known you can’t move but if I
fart someone’s going
to don’t wor that’s how was Ronnie don’t
worry that’s he’ probably blame you
though but um but Nasim came and he had
this bright silver puffer jacket on I
mean the most thing you couldn’t miss it
and Darren Morgan actually had him moved
yeah which I thought was brilliant
absolutely every credit Dar like he said
get him out he knew he was there to
support me and obviously had this silver
jacket yeah too much yeah another time
suede the pop group suede came in sat in
the front row there yeah and I was a big
fan I thought I just turned I was like
look and all of a sudden all that suede
in the front door that’s yeah course uh
Rich Osman is the brother of Yeah mman
from Big s fan as well yeah that’s weird
to have a whole band in there though you
must like you going to no that on the
front row I know but those were great
seats to have to watch brother insane
yeah difficult for you though one of
them has got a Bas well it starts yeah
yeah um who who what was your tip to win
it this year
the very interesting thing is that
nobody really cares what I think so oh
yeah I mean having met JS he just he was
talking there like he’s never won it I
had to ask I’m sure he’d won it and then
I got back he has won it and he was
talking well so he probably yeah if I
Haven won it 50 times I might as well
give up you are the world champion and
he was unplayable when he won in that
final he was unplayable yeah he said
I’ve I’ve never proved it here but you
did win it that time You’ also been a
finalist he’s done better again compared
with us he’s got a good record he yeah
it was he seems very good his energy was
very he seemed very confident for a guy
that’s playing tomorrow yeah absolutely
yeah you really you knifed him with the
you know if he’s taken it seriously you
shouldn’t been doing a podcast the night
before and he’s back there like blood Al
he probably can’t sleep now woring about
his opponent after what hour was yeah
yeah Greg shuts at eight so he’ be
starving
yeah yeah he did a good job of getting
in his head
definitely but he’s he’s a lovely L he’s
really nice yeah be great to see him I
absolutely would love Mark Williams to
win it yeah me too yeah I think a lot of
people would yeah and weirdly it doesn’t
seem impossible even though no imagine
what the press conference is going to be
this time
well just be in a helicopter getting
lowered in
[Laughter]
naked you sort of can’t rule it out it’s
abely he said that that world
championship because he’s probably my
best friend on on on the tour and we
spent a lot of time going out for dinner
and stuff during that championship and
he said to me right at the beginning he
said he said if I said you could win
you’re playing you could win ah no
chance no chance he says if if I win it
he say I’ll do my prce naked I went well
I don’t like and he then he was on the
whole time and he was obviously telling
the pr then he he had to do it yeah and
he did it it’s like fair play he’s nuts
but yeah you’re right where where’d you
go from here yeah yeah how’d you go
about becoming best friends with MK
Williams is it too late now or is how
many titles have you got to win he’s so
fickle in
it it’s only a matter of time before
Williams shows up naked to play I
reckon yeah yeah
yeah someone made quite a funny joke
about balls there we can’t use that but
it’s just imagine the sort of thing not
going to use any of
this I’ll be surprised if any of this
goes to the Wi of public yeah I’m amazed
you add your Trump on and your headline
in the podcast with a comedian I know I
would have gone the other way around
really yeah but yeah well we were
worried Trump wouldn’t stay that’s true
yeah
um now we’re meant to be quizzing John
at this point I don’t where is the quiz
oh it’s is that is this it that might
let me just check if this is it yeah no
this is it in fact yeah fine um so the
format of the quiz John you’ll know this
if you’ve listened to podcast before you
have to um love it you get red which is
147 seconds 147 seconds on the clock not
very long um yeah right but what is it
147 seconds 2 minutes uh 27 and then
we’ll edit the Gap out yeah and then uh
red questions are about you for one
point and then you can go green blue or
black green comedy blue general
knowledge black snooker okay 147 seconds
that’s 2 minutes and 27 seconds right
and have I got a score 147
well no actually most of the like the
top score is about 30 or something is
quite hard Henry scored very poorly I
didn’t do that well you got eight yeah
okay you’ve only got to get a couple of
Reds and a couple of colors basically
you’re in respectable territory okay and
is this instead of playing
snooker yeah yeah going have a best line
out there when when
they you kind of wondering um are you
ready I’m ready just tell me when you
start go first red um in which year did
you compete on task Master oh God I
don’t know right but that’s the problem
back when you only did six episodes and
they didn’t pay anything cuz it wasn’t
on Channel 4 but I’m fine about it uh
yeah
201 16 16 is
correct I was on in 2017 and yeah the
money was good by that
point so do I get to pick a color Yes
green blue or black let’s go black uh
which player has made 777 career
centuries yes ranking in sixth on the
alltime
list Henry it’s Steven Henry it is Henry
yeah it’s um
um in which year did you win your heat
of the BBC new Talent comedy search this
is going back a
bit
2005 I’ve got 2003 here oh um never mind
another red which you’ll get this I
think which vegetable was placed into a
box as part of an eight out of 10
[Music]
carrot i’ I’d be very surprised if you
didn’t get that yeah so that’s a red in
and draw nine uh once again choice of
colors uh blue or black what would you
do blue let’s try blue blue I reckon how
many ghosts are chasing Pac-Man at the
start of each game
three I there’s four I was going to say
I’ll give it but I can’t cuz that’s it’s
not correct a l
yeah uh this is quite tough I think in
2006 you supported Alan carrr on a tour
of how many dates oh my God 60 60 is
right look at that oh yes that’s a
that’s a long red into the corner um
black black he’s going black Ken doy won
the World Championship here in what year
yeah 97 yeah oh come on you didn’t know
I was Welsh did
you uh which again I reckon you’ll get
this R which TV show hosted by m Michael
McIntyre were you on this year the wheel
the wheel is got yet again this guy’s
good if you get the one about what’s in
my bins we need to talk to green blue or
black um let’s go black as I might as
well be wiers we might get
it uh which yeah 10 seconds which player
won the recent Johnson’s paint TOUR
Championship Mark Williams it is
Williams yeah and that’s probably it
time up but to be fair a decent Break by
mostly this guy with
team scort I don’t know what the scores
are there but that’s decent three is
three blacks asy the the uh Johnson’s
paint Henry’s breaks and 24 later
actually 24 same as his high break like
just squeezed another
ready impressive from Richardson with
what’s your name
mate there we go
it’s not every question is as easy as it
looks uh we just before we wrap it up
hen we’ll get Stephen’s thoughts briefly
about um well going to ask who are the
favorites obviously Ronnie and Jud have
been the outstanding players is there
anyone else you can see having looked at
the draw sneaking through to the late
stages you know what I’m I I’d love Mark
to win it Mark Williams because
obviously was a good friend of mine I
think the way he’s been playing um it’s
been phenomenal in the last couple of
months I think my opinion is is I think
I think Ronnie will win it um I I I just
think there’s I think he’s he’s just so
he’s such a machine when it comes to
tournament finding ways to win even when
he’s not his best and a lot of Players
let’s be frank you know themselves when
they playing them so he’s got that
advantage of of of knowing that players
can’t beat him yeah there are after that
I I tend to think he’s going to win if
you’re looking for someone I’ll be
really interested um kind of like an way
B to get to the semifinal something like
that I think to see how Jang Ander does
because I think he’s got the game the
temperament to to do really well here
yeah yeah but I think it’s Ron’s
Championship what about you John you got
a feeling oh let’s not talk about
that I’ve been vegan for some time all I
the shop four times before I leave the
house away from your guts what what’s
your instinct about the tournament yeah
um no one said Mark Allen no yeah no he
feels like it’s no he might be
um he he he he is a contender there’s no
doubt about it I think some in some
matches he seems to get bogged down a
little bit and not play his natural game
um he he does find ways of winning when
he’s not playing well which is important
here because you can’t play well in
every single session um that that you
know you just can’t play your best from
day one all the way through it’s just
too long um so in that way he’s got a
good a good b game as it were but I just
don’t see him sustaining that for 17
days me Dominic Dale naon
[Applause]
and in two and a bit weeks we’ll all be
enjoying the
man uh we’ve just got time for a handful
of uh questions well potentially for any
of us but realistically likely for
Stephen so once again we’re going around
with the
um with the mic if you’ve got any sort
of uh yeah couple well couple down here
um if Ronnie was was to win it this year
do you think he’d
retire um no no I don’t think so I think
I think um he already picks and chooses
I think what events he plays in and I
think he’ll continue to do that and and
I mean it’s it’s obvious that he prefers
playing tournaments where there’s it’s
it’s short events it’s it’s eight
players or 16 over a week this this the
only sort of thing against him winning
this is he’s 17 days it goes he admits
that he doesn’t like this being been on
going on for so long um but no no I I
think he’ll be be for a good few years
yet but as I say he’ll probably play
less and less I would
say would you trade your seven World
titles for one Green Jacket one Green
Jacket
[Applause]
oh I I think the financial rewards would
be be worth worth exchanging it
definitely no I wouldn’t I wouldn’t
change it for any because yeah I me had
an amazing career and amazing memories
in this place I would I wouldn’t trade
that for
inant
yeah imagine how depressed we’d all be
if he’d like
[Laughter]
yeah what was your highest break on the
left what so what was the highest break
what was your high break your highest
break no yours mine 24 what’s yours
what’s yours mine was 26
feel I was led into that
somewhat just got hold your nerve in
those 20s that’s that’s where you start
to learn about a player you dress better
than me as well so yeah very nice
question for all of you mainly Steven I
guess but which snooker player would
make the best stand-up
comedian oh
um Matthew S Matthew s’s probably the
funniest um play player on tour but as
in a comedian I don’t know I mean Dennis
obviously I mean he loves it he’s he’s
he just I’ve obviously played so many
exhibitions and although he’s been
telling the same joke for 40
years nothing wrong with
that he is very funny I’d have to say
Dennis and and and Ken is kind of like a
Dennis mini me he’s like following his
footsteps but um yeah I’d have to say
Dennis do you think the um putting your
thumb up at the pink ball would work
live
got legs at the El open with it your
sarcastic thumb I don’t I don’t know
whether that works as a joke I don’t
know I don’t know he’s not Universal G I
think Dennis is the only one who’s been
on cat’s countdown so he’s got form Fair
he he’s he’s willing to put in the yards
yeah he appeared see that think he burst
out of a cake and was wheeled off and
never seen
Again
Play is it’s not snooker related it’s
directly to John talking about countown
have you got suie d phone
[Laughter]
[Applause]
number she does words not
numbers uh question for Stephen I’m
interested look comparing the
generations where would Ray Reen let’s
say at his height rank today would you
would you say um I I didn’t I didn’t
really see his career was sort of before
before my okay what about who were you
play who’s who were the the big names
when you were just starting them where
were they rank I mean St Steve obviously
when I started he he was he was the king
he was number one miles ahead of anyone
else and I think even at his best he
would definitely be in the top 16 I
think the way he played when he was
winning winning world championships and
that may maybe maybe even top eight I
don’t know but um you you don’t think
the peak of Davis would be he wouldn’t
be challenging for I think the peak of
did no it probably didn’t score heavy
enough the game has changed a bit it’s
about scoring it’s about winning frames
in one visit where Davis used to
basically strangle you with safety play
and then go in and make 56 win the frame
one but not it you know it wasn’t so
much about now it’s just like bang bang
like Century Century Century probably
the same with those the previous
generation like Reed and stuff it was
much more about attrition and stuff
compared yeah yeah I think it was about
you you know it was about tricking
tricking your opponents in into into
letting you in and and if you watch the
old stuff the wouldn’t they wouldn’t
split the pack open of the colors they
would pick off the loose Reds and and
take one at time kind of like I mean
Williams is is is that that kind of
player well Williams is that generation
as well to be
fair his had his music taste is
definitely back in that generation the
tables changed the T Chang the way
people um in terms of certainly when you
when you I think when you split the pack
to the cloth and the balls they they do
open up I think easier than probably did
in in those days um the cloths would be
thicker the balls would be heavier so
they wouldn’t split as as as nice but
you still had to I think with the the
play The Players hit the ball better now
I think that’s that’s going on it’s just
the the Striking of the ball is has
changed I think as in things like golf
as well probably what’s the as someone
who’s played on and off all my life um
four times a year think a lot of it was
off was it I’ve been playing snooker for
about 35 years now I’ve never had a kick
right in my life
why do they I mean at this level it
seems happen all is just the Precision
and the thinness of the cloth and the
accuracy yeah it’s because I think it’s
because everything’s as you say pristine
the cloth so clean and you know it’s a
brand new cloth all time brand new balls
so any slight thing that interferes with
that whereas in a club the cloth’s
probably been on for a couple of years
the balls are not they’ve lost their
shine they probably not sh so it’s yeah
it’s probably to do with that um but the
new the new chalk now has made a huge
difference TM chalk yeah I mean it’s
it’s I was a big a skeptic about of
anybody that it was changed but it’s
it’s incredible if you’re using it you
never get kicks you never get any like
bad bounces there’s no mess in the table
um the only one that doesn’t use it is
Ronnie he’s he’s uses triangle um
stubborn stubbornness basically Bally
that as simple as that he’ll just stick
with it um and the only time you really
see kicks a lot and bad bounces that is
when he’s playing a match cuz you’ll see
there’s chalk marks all over the table
cuz he’s using The Old Triangle stuffs
time for someone intervie I’ll have a
word with him yeah yeah yeah all
right oh yeah sorry one more that um so
big fan of the YouTube channel Stephen
um I’m big fan of everyone obviously but
I just
wondered on you
go who was your favorite guest you’ve
had on your YouTube channel would you
say um wow it’s been uh everyone’s been
great we so lucky they’ve been they’ve
been they’ve all obviously Taken part
yeah R Ronnie I’d have to say Ronnie
because it I mean obviously Mark as I
say a mate we had great fun and
everything but to to sort of speak to
someone you know Ronnie who’s who’s
obviously we won the same at the world
titles and just chat about that sort of
stuff was um was great and I think one
one of the things that came out of it
when it was just after he won a seventh
and I says like you obviously got to win
you’re eighth and he went no you know
noron he’s like no I’m not B I say I
said but I was the same when I called
Steve six I knew the next day I had to
win seven he just had to do it I say
surely you’re the same you know you have
to win eight and he didn’t admit it but
he does he wants to win it he wants to
win it badly so that’s all we’ve got
time for on this LIVE edition of snooker

Where's the one with Luca Brecel?
mark watson is just unbearable. something's seriously wrong with him, dude can't speak properly, is he high on benzos or what?
Nice to see Jon. I can't wait for the new series of Meet The Richardson.
The people that shout out are just the worst they're up there with Hitler
When luck fucks you get Judd stuck on 1 World title. Why we call him the GOAT of flukes ๐
not stubborn….more like greedy. He wants to get paid by Taom ๐ tbh you cant blame him, but again, most players switched, so they don't have the need to pay him.
I can confirm snooker & dnb compliment each other very nicely indeed
Mark watson is loving being at the crucible ๐๐๐๐๐๐
Sean Richardson just asked a serious snooker question ๐ฎ wtf hahaha

I thought luca was there too, no?
Great podcast, very funny! Not as great or funny as me but pretty good!
This is Juddโs year
Hendry werenโt wrong about Dale.
Genuine question for Judd – I truly believe Jimmy White's hair loss was a major factor in him not winning the Worlds imo…it affected his confidence under the snooker lights. Has this had an impact for you at Sheffield and/or your career?
And advert within two minutes better not continue like this
Ignore fake account in my name! Judd has a terrible attitude for 1 world title in 19 years ๐๐๐๐๐
Stephen Hendry. The UNHINGED Narcissist. Won only by luck and unintentional positional shots and run of the ball. GOAT of luck ๐
Judd banter top notch here. Hope he wins this year
Here is something of interest. Worst loss for Stephen Hendry vs Marcus Campbell 9-0. Marcus took his soul that day .
All you haters on Stephen, you realise Ronnie himself sees Stephen as one of his heroes, I think Ronnie knows more about snooker than the average armchair fan, and he gives Stephen the respect he deserves. So should you.
How about you guys go and try to win 7 world championships at anything?
Next you'll tell us Steve Davis dominating the 80s was a fluke too.
Love the Watson and hendry podcast ๐ Sean you little legend you ๐
Watson is a real natural in front of the camera
Stephen Hendry. UNHINGED NARCISSIST . Only won by run of the ball and unintentional positional shots. Lucky to have played in a pisspoorera. GOAT of good fortune ๐
JR is from the same neck of the woods as me, as I used to play in the Dev (Devonshire Club, as it was known) in my teens and twenties, knocked down now though.
