how about this group Rory M and Shane
Lowry much was expected of them here’s
Rory at 16 tough little one for birdie
here it’s called ham and egg there’s
some ham right there from Rory some egg
on Shane Lowry face there on 16
but oh yeah he made up for that right
here in 17 after maroy was wward with
his t-
shot
exactly from egg to ham back to be in
the man beautiful shot right there one
of the best of the day it’s a difficult
17 good amount of sh come he said it’s
working as a
team absolutely is
because they are within touching
distance of the top of the leaderboard
we nearly saw a history match today by
that team of Blair and fishbird look at
their score 12 under today with a Mark
of
60 list to norlander at 22 under and
then mooy and low on
2100 as we welcome you into golf Central
on a busy Saturday for the game I am
Matt Adams alongside of he who you just
heard from trip Eisenhower trip it it
was it was a very interesting day
because we’re just highlighting how we
saw some scores that were made that were
absolutely incredible and then we had
the aloy and Lowry team that had a by
their own admission a relatively slow
start exactly I mean look we saw the
lead these these guys in the middle of
the pack kind of come out and make a big
statement with great rounds obviously
Zack Blair and and Patrick Fishburn
fabulous round but you thought the
leaders were going to do kind of the
same thing and they really all got kind
of stuck in neutral so the latter half
of the field that normally catches up
and passes what they post early they
ended up standing and and that kind of
up upside down Apple card if you will
that we normally see in this tournament
but you got to give credit to Lowry and
maroy they did what they needed to do
they basically shot even par just a
little bit below field average and that
keeps them right in touch with the
leaders only two shots is easy to make
up in the difficult alternate shot
format which is tomorrow all right so
how did they do what they needed to do
let’s take you guys through those
highlights of Rory mooy and Shane Lowry
they had birdies at the second and the
ninth here’s maoy with his t-shot at the
ninth well this was the most difficult
hole today on the golf course it’s
either 9 or 17 very difficult part 3es
but when you hit it like that the hole
is Elementary beautiful birdie there to
make the turn that would get them the 16
under let’s stay with maroy at the 10th
how about this one yeah slow start but
look at where this drive is how about up
there into almost into the The Fringe
you walk through and mroy with a
beautiful little pitch and we’ve got two
pretty much no sweat
birdies why not keep it rolling they’re
now 17 under here he is at the far five
11th with his
third yeah surprised he didn’t get there
in two but nice little pitch nip that
took all the uh bounce use of the bounce
to do that right there he’s got a higher
bounce this week 10° for him that would
get them to 18 under here he is to set
them up for yet another one to get to 19
under a lot of beautiful wedge shots
here well we we’re seeing it but we’re
not seeing Shane and the reason why is
because uh Shane’s kind of taking a
vacation here on the back nine Rory’s
doing all the work and he’s getting it
done beautiful shot at 15 and you can’t
do anything but hit it right where you
see it and Rory did that’s the
frustrating part of go that would keep
him at 19 under there okay finally Shane
Lowry at part
46 uh yeah he might have been trying to
cut that I I don’t know what he was
doing okay I don’t think he knows what
he was doing but that’s a horrible
mistake cuz if you’re going to lay up
you lay up and well maybe he had to use
the facilities maybe that’s what it was
off he went so Rory maoy this is his
second now after his t-shot at 16 he
laid
up well and Shane had flown the green so
Rory by himself Rory’s on an island and
Rory stepped up not his best wedge shot
you can see he’s frustrated he knows but
safety was smart there because you
cannot make a bogey at 16 and of course
Shane does make bogey cuz this is for
par and he’s pitched it beautifully all
week you can’t uh fault his pitching
this week it is exceptional Rory M Here
Comes Rory yeah I’m sorry Matt Here
Comes Rory cleaning it
up ham and egg but Rory mostly Ham on
the back n to get to 20 under all right
Shane Lowry at the part 3 17th what a
history he’s had in this hole this week
yes sir well almost went in the water
yesterday Rory’s over to the right so
this shows I mean what this Duo can do
and just really one of the best shots of
the they straight into about a 20 mph
win and you can see how good that shot
was Roy’s thinking that way way to pick
me up and this is the story of Shane
Lowry really this week his putter been a
little bit colder than he wants and just
frustrating not to get it out there far
enough and give it a better chance there
he would they would remain at 20 under
after that Rory maoy now at the par five
18th look at this
beauty yeah and this is again Rory by
himself but uh had to think that one was
going
in but a nice way to finish the day
indeed because how they finished that
day was 20 21 under they are currently
Two Shots off the pace very much part of
the script for the final round and there
you can see the story of their day
graphically displayed before you eight
under uh 64 to reach that Mark of 21
under par what it all mean they
explained it to our Steve
Bowski Rory and Shane start Sunday two
shots off the lead how would you
describe the team effort of eight under
in the end yeah it was pretty good slow
start today um tricky conditions and
then uh yeah we we made some birdies
coming in so it was nice it’s nice to
have a chance tomorrow I’m excited we’re
both excited and um yeah we’ll have a
nice evening this evening and get after
tomorrow Roy we talked yesterday the
importance of going low right out of the
gates uh in this format a slow start for
you guys what changed after the six
holes when you were only one under to
claw right back into it yeah Shane
um yeah Shane hit a lovely shot into
seven to set up a sort of easy birdie
there and then yeah eight was
disappointing I I hit a good t- shot not
to make birdie from that but then yeah
you know the t- shot online for me and
to to make birdie there to you know to
turn in three under I thought was you
know it wasn’t wasn’t terrible we would
have wanted a little bit more but I
think that gave us some momentum to to
go and play a really good back n how was
the patience tested today knowing you
had holes to play but work to do yeah
mine was tested a lot but um no it was
nice to have a partner like Rory to on
today um
you know I didn’t play my best back nine
but it was nice to watch him in full
flow and you know he made seven birdies
in the last 10 holes which is pretty
impressive out there in those conditions
and uh some people say he can’t play in
the win but I thought he was pretty good
today how important was it to get within
two KN back alternate shots tomorrow and
that’s a format you don’t necessarily
make up a lot of ground yeah for sure I
think um you know the birie two of the
last three to get from 19 to 21 I
thought was important I think starting
four back in the an alternate shot is
you just don’t want feel like you’re
chasing in that format um so to to start
only two back I think um you know that
was important for us going into tomorrow
what’s the most important thing you guys
need to uh formulate with your game plan
uh heading into Sunday uh I think just
keep doing what we’re doing I think if
uh you know Rory is driving the ball
great I think if my arm play can be a
little bit better than it has been than
it was in the back nine today I think we
can you know go there and give it a run
tomorrow I think we need to stay patient
and uh you know let the birdies come to
us and uh you’ll see we leaves us at the
end of the day
