Have you ever visited Ireland for a golf break if
not you are doing it incredibly wrong and in this
video I am going to show you exactly why let’s
start with this incredible golf course starting
with the Augusta of Ireland Druids Glen course
at Druids Glen Resort a host to the Irish Open
multiple times and one of the best layouts in the
UK and Ireland I was absolutely blown away when I
played this course numerous spectacular holes
this course is simply incredible and more than
likely going to be the closest you get to playing
Augusta National the most famous hole is the 12th
a scenic downhill par three where golfers play
over the now famous bank of flowers in the shape
of a Celtic cross the course was designed by
Legend Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock and opened
in 1995 but since then has had some renovation
and for your information Pat Ruddy is one of my
favourite golf architects but more on that later
I had no idea what to expect when turning up to
Druids Glenn however what I did know was that
some people had said the par 3’s on this golf
course was some of the best par 3’s in the world
in the entire world so for that fact alone I knew
that when I turned up I was going to be in for
a tree but when you actually see the par 3’s
you understand why this course has been dubbed
as the Augusta of Ireland if something’s been
dubbed as the Augusta of Ireland you definitely
know it’s going to bring some sort of excellence
and the course did not disappoint it was such
an exciting course to play and it honestly is
probably the closest to playing Augusta National
I am ever going to get before I continue just
give our channel a quick subscribe and like this
video and drop a comment below if you have played
golf in Ireland before or if you wish to do so
now on to The K Club home to two courses one
of which being the Palmer North Course which is
a host of the Irish open and the 2006 Ryder Cup
it is a stadium style resort course and at over
7,300 yards from the tips many commentators have
described it as the most difficult Inland layout
in the country as well as one of the best around
Dublin the attention that this has brought to
both The K Club and Irish golf in general is
richly deserved given the faultless display that
the Ryder Cup course exhibited during the Ryder
Cup matches in 2006. to play on a course that
has hosted the Ryder Cup is is something special
in itself the golf course is truly inspiring
especially if you can remember the types of
shots that the pro players were playing around the
course during the Ryder Cup in 2006 and something
that I noticed with The K Club coming off of the
course is the hospitality here was something else
if I was to pick one place for hospitality
alone the k club would be it and now moving
on to a golf course that has been rated top top
100 golf courses in the world and considered to
be the best links course in Ireland Pat Ruddy has
designed this incredible golf course which gives
you a links experience that very few can match
the European Club is located in County Wicklow
The Garden of Ireland and along with Doonbeg it is
among the best links courses to be built in recent
decades built by the highly regarded Pat Ruddy
the European Club has been compared favourably
with Kyle Phillips’s for phenomenal Kings Barn
creation and spans similarly colossal sand dunes
European Club for me is the best golf course I
have ever played in Ireland I’ve not played major
players like County down and Port Rush but in the
east of Ireland this golf course was hands down
the best if I could only play one golf course in
Ireland for the rest of my life this would 100% be
it not only was the service just incredible but
the golf course was honestly unreal the course
designer Pat Ruddy first designed the course
for family and friends but then realised that
the land that this golf course was sitting on
was so incredible that it would be a crime not
to let the public play this golf course and with
that in mind I think you can really see the love
and attention that Pat has given this golf course
knowing that his family and friends were going to
play this course and for a fun fact it is home
to the largest green in the world it is sitting
at and 127 yards in length designed by Arnold
Palmer with countless signature holes and set
in a truly a inspiring location in County Kerry
the Lake District of Ireland Tralee is not only
one of the best golf courses in the UK offering
a fantastic test of golf but a full on attack on
all of the senses from start to finish one where
golfers just may end up taking as many photographs
as they do shots it is ranked within the top 20
Golf Course courses in Ireland but arguably the
most picturesque excellent practice facilities
and a superb clubhouse complement the course
excellently and the location is convenient to
being just under half an hour’s drive from the
town of Tralee itself now this is one golf course
that I haven’t played yet and I would absolutely
love to do it and it is 100% on my bucket list
because everyone at your golf travel who has
played it can only say incredible things and for
that reason I think it belongs a top spot in the
courses to play in Ireland ranks number four
in the world by top 100 golf courses and number
one by Golf Digest and a host of the Irish open
welcome to Royal County down on the championship
course it’s a bucket list course for any golfer
set against the backdrop of the spellbinding
Mountains of Mourn this links land at Royal County
Down seems heaven sent for golf and with all that
being said you can clearly see why Royal County
Down is just just a must play in Ireland to get
on to the course it can be quite tricky and you
do need to book in advance but that’s exactly what
we’re here for at your golf travel another world
famous golf course and one for the bucket list
is at Royal Port Rush Golf Club dun loose links
is consistently ranked amongst the top 20 golf
courses in the UK and Ireland host of the Open
Championship in 1951 and 2019 and will also host
the 2025 event Royal Port Rush is probably one of
the most famous golf courses in the world and to
play it would just be an incredible experience
so now let’s move on to hospitality Ireland is
world famous for its Hospitality so surely it’s
offering golfers like you some incredible stays
The K Club resort for me is a standout in terms
of service and luxury the experience at The K
Club is genuinely five star from the beginning
until the end and as with the superb golf courses
on the resort the hotel’s quality and luxury
are simply unrivalled the period features of
the building itself are well complemented by
the first class modern facilities inside the
bedrooms and throughout the facilities in fact
The K Club’s hotel is so outstanding that it has
been named Island’s only five red star venue by
the AA and has been awarded the RAC gold ribbon
if I was to choose somewhere to stay for my next
golf holiday on service alone the k club is 100%
it let’s put aside the fact that the Palmer North
course hosted the Ryder Cup in 2006 and let’s just
look at the hotel itself it is probably one of
the most luxurious rooms that I have ever stayed
in and the staff are so attentive to your needs
there is not one thing that is too much for them
to do so believe me when I say that the service
is incredible and if that is important to you are
never going to go wrong with The K Club. Carton
House has emerged in recent years as one of the
most exquisite golfing destinations in Ireland
and beyond and this is a result of two terrific
well-maintained courses and an unrivalled level
of service situated just half an hour from Dublin
the stunning palladian house is situated amidst
over 1,000 acres of land and has been visited over
the years by Queen Victoria and Grace Kelly The
minimalist in interior space is in stark contrast
to the untouched Grandeur of the facade and the
antique furnishing of the public spaces Carton
House is situated only 15 miles away from the
Dublin Airport which is absolutely perfect if
you don’t want to spend too much time traveling
but what’s so great about carton house is as soon
as you step on the land you’re just immersed you
know that this is going to be something special
the hotel itself is very very big and what
I loved about the the character within this
hotel was the fact that some rooms were quite
vintage and you could tell had a lot of history
and then you could go into the next room and
it’s very modern there’s a lot of character in
this hotel there’s a lot of bars and restaurants
to choose from which of course is always going to
be great if you’re staying on site for more than
a couple of nights this place is truly immersive
and something special and you know that as soon
as you step onto the land the two hotels that
I have mentioned are in east Ireland and that is
where I situated myself for my golf break however
when clients book golf holidays to Ireland with
your golf travel they’re always Keen to give us
feedback on the hotels that they have stayed
in and here are a couple other hotels which
are potentially a great pick for you Fota Island
Golf Resort and Spa is situated in a beautiful
corner of County Cork boasting picturesque 27
holes of golf with lots of water this is very
much a new age five-star venue with the highest
quality rooms dining and spar facilities the
Heritage Golf Resort and Spa is another Top Class
five-star destination popular with weddings due to
its quality with a fantastic spa and Championship
Golf Course designed by Seve Ballasteros and Jeff
how there are so many incredible golf courses in
Ireland it would almost be impossible to squeeze
it into one video but Ireland nevertheless is
one of the best places you could go for a golf
break if you’re traveling from the UK It could
only take anywhere from from 40 minutes to an
hour to get to Dublin International Airport and if
you’re flying from America I would say that most
people tend to land in the southwest of Ireland
which itself is littered with incredible golf
courses we mentioned Tralee earlier that’s based
down there and you’ve also got an incredible Golf
Course called Ballybunion which is honestly
one to look at if you’re going to play in the
southwest of Ireland but what happens if you’re
going to Ireland and you don’t just want to play
golf well Ireland has got some incredible history
some incredible culture and is genuinely just a
very very fun place to visit welcome to island a
land of captivating landscapes rich history and
vibrant culture nestled on the western edge of
Europe begin your journey in Dublin the lively
capital city where history and modernity
intertwine venture beyond the city limits
to discover Islands breathtaking Countryside from
the rugged cliffs of the Wild Atlantic way to the
serene beauty of the Wicklow mountains nature
enthusiasts will find themselves in paradise

heritage through its music dance and folklore
