th a well up in the air needs to get
down it’s always a dilemma as to what
the players ought to do here smiley I I
think there’s a lot of reasons to lay up
on this hole but that was kind of
halfway in between there for Hava yeah
that was spe just a moment ago and skot
sheffer’s already missed his but here’s
havin but that’s going to turn to his
left right up at the hole and right into
the hole so that is a surprise birdie
there but a nice little four five
stretch for Victor and one here is
sheffler over at the
seventh he’s going to fly this further
back into this green because he’s in the
Fairway and had plenty of spin on the
ball done some good work with Phil
Kenyon on his putting he putted
incredibly well the first three days at
the hero on his way to Victory there
they hit about the exact same
pot guo produced
earlier loves to play a little draw this
started it to the right and ended up
right at
it so if you’re not distracted by the
incredible scenery
there back on an upper tier there you’ve
got a little slope behind it that could
help right there maybe it turns around
there you go be
he took the slope the little Ridge in
front of the
hole there’s that silky putting
touch rough not a huge issue down here
but he plays a little bit higher shot
and’ll come up just short of the hole
those are not the easiest putts from
down
there okay screen’s amazing Smiley the
last year it was the
second another guy the strength of his
game is the
Putter and good read good stroke there
yep just great speed smooth if you want
to get it close at 17 here’s speed
now couple of confidence Builders there
at 8 and nine couple of putts just in
that 6ot range for
birdie brings the game been in the Tour
Championship every year he’s been on
tour every year every week every minute
every moment it seems like he’s playing
right Chris cork for a birdie here at
the short par 4 he is at three under
par and make that
four be messed up with that ball that
high that much above his feet but the
athlete he is makes it look easy
boy did he handle that well could have
easily just stuck the glove into the
side of that hill and come up uh always
looking for a club that can make the bag
and and help him out um he still hadn’t
decided on a couple clubs but um this
guy is he is always planning on how he’s
going to get
better and oh my goodness that ball
straightened up if anything it went
right at the end what a great putt all
the roads pretty much around capalo a
little different look for Hawaii this is

I watched him warm up today talk to Mark
Blackburn who is his coach Who’s down
there with him and I fairly quick got to
be a little careful with the

birdie very flat green not a lot of
break and he takes advantage of
that just to the right of
that 47t drop from T to
Green this Fairway pitches so hard from
left to right straight this might end
up on the green he did it he hugged that
left side what a t- shot this is 400 20
yds away folks and sheffler has backed
it up over there on the back collar it
goes down over that Hill they have no
idea where that ball ended up but uh
maybe Smiley can let him know on the way
down he certainly certainly is I expect
good things

there pretty darn good for most people
it’d be really good yes Smiley you’ve
seen that a few times sure have over at
the 12th this is hin for
birdie saw a lot of that last year had
to work hard for that birdie but that’s
a good
putt especially this back nine back nine
playing a shot and a half easier than
the front nine par on the back Nine’s 37
there you can see it right
there oh this was probably 10 ft in the
air I could have caught that with a
baseball glove that thing was is
awesome really cool let’s see if it’ll
stay in the Fairway though watch
this and you can’t do any better really
he cut it right back into the
slope
nope try to send it out a little bit to
the right try to draw it with that
wind another player taking advantage of
this this this might be the closest of
the day or could it be be oh
wow oh man finally fell looked like it
might hover on the edge and not drop
this was his second shot ball slightly
below his feet from the rough Bo he was
really aggressive off the te that is H
down the right
side this catches a slope and goes back
the other way could get
close boy what a great shot out of the
rough straight uphill look at
this down into the right hand rough he’s
got 201 yards and believe it or not
folks I would think this is probably a
nine iron from
there that’s a good one as we had
expected him today here’s M now now
looks like a downhill putt but it’s an
uphill
putt a and he somehow got it in the
right
corner so here he goes
again wind should be out of the
left shot dude yep it’s going to stay on
that lower level too that is going to be
a great look for Eagle really good look
right now you’re kind of guessing a
little bit and that is tough to make a
committed
swing asking for it to sit that this
left center of the
green it took a little while but they
got it figured
out that was Carl Smith
uh came out nice and high wind catching
it should be the
number oh god really good man landed sh
over the top of that
bridge is there anybody better than
those field shots than spe I mean you
saw the
I think Kurt’s exactly right he laid it
back here to a nice
spot great shot look at that
result it’s a lot more predictable even
from you know 191 yards or whatever he
had to the hole probably not able to
spin this too much downwind landing on a
down slope seem really cut at that
trying to spin
it who that was a thing of beauty the
way he sliced underneath that try to put
the brakes on
