hey guys welcome back to Modern golf
today is Titleist
Edition now this is the players for
carbon if we talk about tius for a
minute let’s say I would say most people
think these guys are the leaders in golf
balls with the prob B1 and prob1 X the
leader in shoes with Joy the leader in
wedges with boki’s wedges one would say
the leader in woods with the tsr2 and
tsr3 one would say probably some of the
best if not the best irons in the
industry uh with the T1 15s and 100s and
200s and my buddy Steve got the 350s
last
year so where does that leave golf bags
where do these guys rank so today we’ve
been testing
um this player’s carbon four for the
last couple months to be honest with you
it’s been a little bit uh we put this
one through its Paces uh walking putting
on a cart putting on a pull cart and
also going to uh practice for me so what
do I think let’s go over the specs um
and we’ll give you my overall rating
when we wrap up but let’s first talk
about what this bag is so this is an
under three lb golf bag
2.94 pounds when I scaled it one of the
lightest golf bags on Earth maybe the
lightest outside of a true Sunday
walking bag if you are a walker this is
the tiest bag you want uh no question
about it um again under 3 lb right
around 34 in tall depending on how you
measure
it I love this golf bag um and again
non-sponsored one of the best
lightweight golf bags I have ever used
and used and tried and played with um
there are some quirks with this that I
don’t love and we’ll get into that as
well but let’s go first as we always do
with the top of this bag so this is just
a four-way top so you will be jamming
your clubs in here uh this is not um a
staff bag where you can put 17 clubs
with oversized grips this is cramped I’m
just telling you like it is it’s not a
negative thing is just reality I love
this bag but again realize what you’re
going to be utilizing in this bag for
it’s for walking so the lighter the
smaller the better the more agile again
top cuff I was able to get uh my driver
hybrid uh Forwood and my putter jammed
in here at one point I moved my hybrid
to here uh just so I had my driver Three
Wood um and putter I I’m not going to
say this is a bad design you guys know I
love the larger tops in 14 way but again
this is a walking bag so it’s phenomenal
what it does um has a it’s kind of
interesting this has two different
materials so there’s a very dense weave
U microfiber um velour feeling on some
of these and then there’s also uh what I
would call a ballistic nylon or a
engineered mesh around some of the Cuffs
so it’s interesting um I like it I’ve
had no issues with it didn’t scratch my
clubs or anything has a very and I like
what tyus has done with this one um and
particularly this colorway I like the
red contrast handle I think it brings
out some care to this bag so with that
being said let’s get into this side uh
there is as you guys see an umbrella
sleeve here that goes down we’ll cover
that when we wrap up this is a plastic
uh ring for your for me it’s gloves but
I know most people use them for towels
there’s a very neat uh logo kind of tone
on tone here which I love I’m a big
monochrome fan two big Pockets here do
the big one first and I’ll put pictures
up super super large pocket so I had
actually rain pants and a rain jacket in
here um a
towel um extra gloves a winter
hat um some snacks my allergy pills as
you guys know I always carry um and it
all fit in here great so kudos to them
there is also a zipin pocket to get to
your clubs if you drop something in
there and you need something out um if
you drop your Rolex and you have to get
to it it’s a good way to do
it o which I love this is one of the
weirdest things with this bag this is a
huge valuables pocket for your phone uh
Rangefinder what have
you really really nicely done so nothing
else on this side just a pull handle
here we’ll talk about this um there are
little almost like cleats on here I
would like to see titlist uh put some
rubber on here this bag is for a walker
um what I’ve noticed with this bag and
I’ll get into this point in another one
I would like to see them do two things
and you guys know I am put a tius logo
that you can actually read I think it’s
a cool thing if you set your bag down um
but also they need to get some rubber um
they’re kind of rubber on on on these um
there’s but they’re very minute there’s
some on here um I think what they do is
they put them on the this side you can
feel them and then this side it doesn’t
feel like there’s any rubber um so which
is weird I don’t know why they wouldn’t
have done that on both but I would like
to see this rubber feature a little more
maybe one more in the middle here and
one more down here uh like a CLE but
overall it’s good it’s not a bad thing
I’m just being critical handle here this
pocket here which is I I don’t know if
the cameras pick it up or not it’s a
different material um this is like
a like a brushed metal kind of finish
super cool I love it it’s just kind of
an odd thing so obviously if you want to
get your name embroidered this Zips off
you can do that very large ball pocket
in here uh again they actually have the
rain Hood stowed in here and again you
guys will know where I’m going to go
with this there’s also a pocket behind
here uh that is not velour lined I think
this is um an area that you should have
a velour lined pocket because you’re
unless you’re going to put your rang
finder in and out all day long with your
phone and wallet and keys I think this
would make the most sense um and again
not awful just something I would like to
see in a future and again a pocket here
for your water bottle
um and golf and or golf balls or fruit
snacks or hot dogs or ding-dongs or
whatever you want to put in there so I
mean this bag is so lightweight
um huge pocket here as you guys can see
in here big pocket here for your towel
or whatnot I I will say this and you
guys know I love to have my rainhood
underneath my hipad I think I know ping
does it some other brands do it I don’t
know why every brand doesn’t do it maybe
it’s a patent thing I don’t know
um but I got to tell you this is
straight fire I I’ve used this I love
the way it looks aesthetically I love
the way this fits my back I love the
venting um the air gets through there
phenomenal job with that and lastly on
this side of things is the carbon fiber
legs I love the red accents I love this
I would love for tyus to do a larger
foot I mean this bag is made for walkers
um so I would love to see them do
something a little differently with the
Walker so let’s get into the straps I
found the straps comfortable what I
found and I’ve used this bag I think
seven or eight times now they’re stiff
they’re on the stiffer side so it does
take a little while to get used to so if
you’re buying this bag and you say oh my
God Jeff you suggested this bag and the
straps are stiff as a
board you’re not wrong they do break in
mine have softened up but when you first
get it don’t be shocked when how stiff
these are but anyway
so I hate fabric handles um I’m not
going to lie I like give give me a
rubber coating give me something that
protect this handle now this bagg is
black so it’s not the in the world what
tyus has done with this which I love
this whole material this whole bag is
Rip
stop let me listen to
that I love it love the material love
the quality U they also do which I think
is great and and one of the few brands
that I’ve seen has done this huge large
velcro area for your uh glove so really
nice these strap so the straps are super
easy and again once you start um using
them uh they soften up and become much
easier we talked about the velcro strap
the velcro area we talked about the
handle I like to see a rubber handle
again not the end of the world overall
we really like this bag uh if you are a
walker
and you are a tiess guy or if you’re not
a tiess guy but need a super light um
easy to clean easy to use golf bag uh to
walk this is great I love the pulls on
here again the only things I would say
I’d like to have a little bigger feet on
here uh i’ like to have a little more
rubber grips um on it but overall a
really good bag um again check it out
you can go to TI list or any probably
major uh site and check it out but this
is the carbon 4 tius players 4 under 3
lb probably the best walking bag by far
for Titus and may be the best in the
