Why Just Practicing Won’t Make You Better

The path to success in golf isn’t just about perfecting your swing or mastering your putt.

It’s about understanding that the occasional bad day on the course isn’t due to bad luck, but more likely the result of strategic mistakes.

Scott Fawcett shared his own experience of playing professional golf in his 20s. He confessed that he often made the same mistakes, believing that just practicing more would make them disappear.

But it’s not just about practicing harder, it’s about playing smarter.

Golf is a thinking game as much as it is a physical one. Play smart, not hard.

if you feel like you should have shot
lower after every round of golf you play
there’s only one of two things that
possible you’re not as good as you think
you are or you made mental and strategic
mistakes there literally can be nothing
else you can’t keep getting unlucky
every single day your expectations are
out of whack you’re not as good as you
think you are or you just keep doing
dumb stuff every time you Tee It Up
that’s what I was doing when I played
professional golf in my 20s I would do
all kinds of dumb stuff and I would go
do it again the next day I just was
under the impression that just
practicing more just getting better is
going to make those mistakes go away
missing the green with that sandwich or
gap wedge and making a bogey where
you’re like I just need to get better
with my sandwich maybe you just need to
play a little smarter and stop trying
certain shots just stop making it so
difficult
