Evaluating Justin Thomas’ struggles at Valspar Championship | Golf Central | Golf Channel
https://www.youtube.com/golfchannel?sub_confirmation=1
always been there Justin Thomas he began
this third round that is just a shot
back and after a birdie at the first it
spiraled out of control quickly this was
at the par 4 third about a five-footer
to save his
three yeah I missed that short putt now
at the fifth hole here another short
putt uh he’ been scrambling all week and
and that’s a sign of of a concentration
big mistake there then for par here at
seven yeah and when you start making
putting for pars early on you’re in
trouble but this is where I think this
is where his total concentration is gone
I mean this is less than 2T I don’t know
that it’s the fact that he’s not paying
attention he took the time but that’s
just a lack of concentration right there
uh things are going in the wrong
direction and he knows that he’s
expecting to try to win didn’t get her
down with a double at seven now you go
to the eighth another short
putt these putts are all over to the
right it’s just a shove that’s not a
very smooth stroke that he’s had earlier
in the week uh in 38 putts today gave up
almost seven shots stroks game putting
today he’s given up four and a half
berko for the week he’s uh 75th out of
77th in stroks game putting scrambled a
lot during the week didn’t get it done
today at all 8 over 79 for Justin Thomas
on Saturday at the Valar Championship
the ball striking stats the first three
days pretty much the same when his day
was done he went right to the putting
green How concerned are you about what
you saw from Justin
today I think a lot of that was concentr
ation I he would probably say the same
thing I mean he wanted to you know Miss
some short putts as long as it doesn’t
linger with him he’s fine I think we saw
some of that last year where it
continued on and on I know he knows in
his mind that he’s in a better place
than he was last year he’s out there
still working at it and that’s a key I
think he’s back out there working on it
uh and I think it’s just you got to find
out deep inside where you can find
something to kind of get it going uh but
it was a a lot of Miss short puts uh I
do like the fact that he stayed around
some an autographs shows that he’s you
know he’s frustrated it’s easy to do but
just a rough day out there it could be
just one of those days uh and then he
missed a cut last week you know he’s
always bounced back after missing Cuts
uh but today was just a terrible day for
him on the greens 22 months since Justin
Thomas last one on the PGA tour it’s not
going to happen this week so we’ll see
how long that streak continues but again
spend a lot of time on the putting green
after his third round maybe Lucas Glover
who’s dealt with some putting issues
Through The Years piece of advice you
never know those guys have been out
there for a long long time we’ll keep an
eye on Justin Thomas tomorrow see if he
bounces back how the concentration is
and maybe most importantly what he does
on the
greens yeah I think also you watch it if
you feel the pain I think I don’t know
if he was telling him that but if you
feel that tension in your forearms
that’s where you struggle and I’m not
sure we weren’t you know we couldn’t
hear what he was saying but that’s what
I would say when you can free up your
hands and get the tension out of your
forearms that’s when you’re able to to
have a little Freer stroke sometimes you
just need to go out there late on a
Saturday sun setting bones there
watching just to feel something as you
said it’s all in the fingers and the
hands and moves uh right up the body
tension free can go a long way on the
greens we’ll keep an eye again on Justin
Thomas tomorrow in the final round of
the valbar championship you can’t go to
valbar and not think about the snake pit
16 17 18 Keith Mitchell had no issues
had a other’s fair today we’ll find out
when we come
back

This is what happens when you always walk around cocky and talking shit about Liv players
putting. he couldn't make anything at Sawgrass and it (and exhaustion in general) have followed him to Innisbrook.
Him and Jordan done
Seems like ever since Justin became big buddies with Tiger his game has gone south 🙉
JUSTIN and JORDAN need to switch to L A B putters like some of the other pros that could not find the cup
Justin is just a spoiled brat. He chokes.
IMHO jt doesn’t release, hits a ton of putts off the heel and low on the face. He basically leaves the face open a ton.
Mallets have different backstrokes than blades but any putter not released will tend to stay open.
He also adds loft a tiny bit through impact and hits putts low in the face.
He needs to keep the loft off the putter another inch or so through the ball before releasing.
So release, keep the loft off through the ball. And hit the sweet spot or a little off the toe side. Don’t want to swing left.
Those would help him a ton. IMO
But he seems to like hitting fades with his putter instead.
Finding an easy putt and smashing them in after the round is a waste of the great Bones’ time imo.
Justin, ever heard of LIV golf?. They will throw a big bag of money and you don’t have to worry about not playing your best.
He missed, he missed, he missed, he missed, he missed, he missed, he missed, he missed
