The PGA TOUR heads to the Dominican Republic for the Corales Puntacana Championship in a dual-event week for the TOUR. Nicolai Højgaard will be in the field after his T16 finish in his Masters debut. He’s claimed three top-20s and a runner-up finish so far this season. The Dane will look to go one better than the second place finish he claimed last year, ending up one shot behind winner Matt Wallace. Joel Dahmen will also be at the Corales Golf Club this week. He’s struggled to find form this season, having been cut from half the tournaments he’s competed in. However, T11 at THE PLAYERS Championship and a victory here in 2021 will give him the confidence he needs heading into this week. K.H Lee will also be teeing it up in the Dominican Republic. He’s found good form in the last month with a T4 at the Cognizant Classic and a T9 at the Valspar Championship. Others to look out for in Puntacana this week are Billy Horschel, Victor Perez and Carl Yuan.

some of the early final round highlights
we pick it up with Billy horw yeah this
part four playing straight back into the
wind pin way in the back left so tough
to judge a distance properly Billy Hall
on the eighth for birdie great little
Par Four here by the ocean good wet shot
in there from Billy able to capitalize
H’s putting has been phenomenal this
season and Billy horel to get to 20 yeah
from the same spot obviously a great
iron shot in there it’s exactly where he
was
aiming at the par five 12th this is
second yeah and this hole has been
playing downwind all year or all week
sorry the trouble is not going long here
this green kind of perched up on top oh
and that’s really good what a shot from
horel onto the back
tier will it
hold that just catches a piece on the
right side still trying to run out you
see the wind pushing it towards the edge
just On The Fringe
about 24 ft should break to his left it
is
slow oh this looks good orall cans it
now out in front by
two uh it is probably the most narrow um
t-shot on this golf course win out of
the left Billy back to working it left
to right but this is riding the win a
little more than he would want but
that’s going to be just fine
really well struck trying to ride the
wind might need to get up just a
touch with even getting this ball flag
High even though you do have a wedge on
in your hand and he’s been putting these
well as soon as I say that now we got
going to you’re going to be tested yeah
right at 8 ft this is the one where pros
make it half the time they miss it half
the time but when you’re leaving you’re
on the other half of that
one ho speed for H you can see why he
top 20 in Strokes gain putting this
season on the PGA tour flight of this
t-shot with our trackman Tracer
technology and what did Todd Anderson
have to tell you trip yeah just had to
say you know Billy’s been really his
swing’s been spot on he gets narrow at
times but he’s really got that back to
where he wants it and the results are we
going to follow soon and looks like
they’re following now that leaves you
that awkward 50 60 yard shot I think
he’s got a club he can be aggressive
with and
not worry about those
bunkers that’s fine that’s going to
leave him in a nice full gap wedge
probably from there really working on
the width in of his swing got to feel
like his right arm stays really
wide and this one needs to spin just a
bit you know what how far was he down
you know famously when he shot at 84 at
Memorial and he said it wasn’t his swing
as much as his clubs
said they were 2 and 1/2 de to Upright
they’ve been his clubs and well the
results have been following well we’ve
been talking to trip that uh I mean you
look at some of his stats here this year
he’s 10th in Strokes gain total 18th in
putting Billy looked at his phone and
guess what 2 and a half degrees flat
from where he was uh turned out to be
exactly where his clubs were when he won
the FedEx Cup so it’s amazing how we let
those things happen to us went into and
out of the right
this is a smart play out to the right
but maybe a little too
cautious yeah he missed that
one that will be a tester from there up
a big slope with some right to left
break lanky birdie pot for horel off the
15th yeah 60 some feet across the green
got a little bit of slope up to run
across this looks really really good
will it have
enough oh w
[Applause]
a this is really nice right here
beautiful little fade fading right to
the
center orel’s been so good off the
te he’s posing on it it hit really
solid nice play right
[Applause]
there hor for birie walks it in and he’s
nine under on the
round that thing didn’t look like it had
a chance to miss the entire way perfect
speed about halfway there you knew it
was dead
center oh I fli really low left and off
to the right might need to jump a little
bit yeah kind of hit that one Thin it’s
sounded like chip cuz really that pitch
was not that difficult by t standards I
think he was disappointed there but boy
he’s been home
today another parse for
Hall keeps it at 23 under and a three
shot lead to the final
hole oh this is more right than he wants
carries it into the
Fairway he needs to go just right in the
middle of the screen let the wind work
it to the right seven
ER smart play this is right in line with
what I said and it’s working towards the
flag going to be
nice all right
Billy and you know he was out here on
Wednesday working really hard on his
putting and it’s paid off this week
[Music]
horer cozies it up
[Applause]
[Music]
there a final round 63 for
Hall ties the course record at the
corales pakana championship and a new
tournament scoring record at 23
under what should be his eighth career
win on the PGA tour
he definitely was just the most
impressive player all day
today Billy 11 months ago you gave an
emotional press conference after
struggling at Memorial you said your
confident was as low confidence was as
low as it had ever been at any point did
you doubt this day was going to happen
no this game of golf so fickle and I
think um you can put a lot into it and
not get everything you want out of it um
but I knew you know in my 14 years 13
years previously on the PJ tour that I
had the ability had the talent I just
needed to continue to work hard continue
to do the right things and and continue
to believe that the good stuff was going
to come to uh the Forefront at some
point in time and um I have a great team
around me that kept me um in a good
frame of of mind and kept me uh moving
forward you know Todd Anderson Brett
McCay Alex Bennett um M fug get back on
the bag that’s been a big help uh my
wife’s been unbelievable so and my
family so listen it’s a t it’s a team
it’s individual but as a team but those
everyone around me we all just sort of
Bunker down a little bit more to really
get the result we wanted and I know
you’re a Florida Gator but it seems like
you’re a bulldog when you get the lead
what is it about your mindset when you
get in front that you’re so tough to
shake you know I think uh we get ask
this question a lot I think some people
have it just innately and some people
have to H have to you know learn how to
do it um don’t like talking about myself
but growing up I always wanted the ball
when I was a pitcher I always wanted to
be the guy at bat trying to drive in
winning run um always wanted you know to
have that have it on me and I think you
know growing up and having that
mentality sort of just sort of bled into
or or just grown into um I love being in
the lead I love having that that that
Spotlight on me I love having everything
on me knowing that if I mess up I you
know it’s my fault um and I’m the one
who can control my destiny and so I’ve
always been really good up near lead and
and you know the day you know showed
that a little bit when you’re a top of
leader board you got to talk about
yourself because you’re the champion but
uh finally I just got to say how
important are tournaments like this for
opportunities we’ve seen players get
their first win in tournaments like this
and players like you who get resurgent
back on the path they want to be on how
important are tournaments like this
listen the PJ tours has a lot of
tournaments and it’s tough to um you
know for every tournament to get their
due and opposite opposite field events
have been um crucial for a lot of
players coming up the ranks you know
look at Tony Fen now Victor hoblin
winning Puerto Rico Matt Wallace won
this um so listen it’s another
opportunity to play it’s another
opportunity to um become a better player
to get that win on the PJ tour so these
events are are crucial to the PJ tour in
the sense of the growth of the
development of players on the PJ tour
well congratulations again Billy horel
your 2024 corales punana champion
thanks for watching the PJ Tour on

  1. Kudos to Billy on an epic final round. Was wanting Wesley to take it but it just wasnt his day. Still stoked for his tournament and look forward to his content on youtube and more rounds on the PGA.

  2. Hard to hold on to top spot when Horschel pops up with a 63 on Sunday. Keep that chin up Wesley- know you can close it out next time! 😉

  3. Congrats Wes! You finished strong and your fans are pumped about it. Nobody saw a 63 coming today, all you can do is tip your cap. Hope some BryanBros videos come from this tournament.

  4. Wesley birdie put on18 sooooo solid
21 under was SOLID!!!! To bad there’s a PGA cast system . This tournament pay seemed on par with PGA Womens pay ????

  5. Let’s go Billy! I remember that interview where he almost broke down after playing poorly at the Memorial.. it’s awesome to see him get back in the winners circle

  6. I like how dumb commentators can be , they say he struck a shot well , but billy says himself on the mic he chunked it , and he missed the green with a wedge … and then they say his clubs were 2.5 degrees upright when he shot an 84 (it’s not the clubs, it’s the golfers error) and then when he finds the right clubs they’re 2.5 degrees flatter than his others … so in other words they’re just neutral off the rack clubs 😆

  7. The reporter asked Billy how he found guts to finish the round. Billy said , I don't like to talk about myself , then he talked himself into a pga top 5 closer. Once a Gator always a Gator. He wants the ball as long as no top 50 golfers are invited! More lotion Billy. Lol

  8. The putts Billy sank on the last day were just unbelievable – it's like the cup was a magnet for his ball !!! A 24-footer off the green against the wind, a sixty footer to 2 inches, so many 12 footers…just an amazing performance with a good dose of the "rub of the green" to help too !
