he’s improved in Strokes getting off of
the te he has ramped up his Club headit
speed and when you watch him it looks
like he’s swinging 110 mil an hour and
then you look at the number and you just
can’t believe it that speaks to the
sequency but he’s trying to make some
changes he spoke to it after the round
with Damon hack talking specifically
about what he’s trying to do with his
golf
swing just trying to kind of free up uh
he likes my release pattern so just kind
of trying to free up certain spots of
that and getting the club in a bit of a
more of a neutral place um and so far so
good and so we’ll take a look at the
before and after and he’s trying to
really just change his hand path a
little bit to get the club in more
neutral position at the top you can see
the hand path on the on the left that’s
going back a couple of years ago is more
out farther away from his body you can
see on the right it’s more inside you’re
going to see the result of that at the
top trying to get out of this less laid
off position less bow position at the
top of the Swing try to get more down
the line a little bit more neutral
position with that left wrist although
it’s still a little bit bowed right he’s
trying to do this so that he can deliver
the club on a better path and if we come
down to impact and certainly uh the club
head speed is jumped up clearly his body
likes this clearly things going well you
look he’s got a little less I’d say uh
hang back look to it on the right looks
like he’s more covering it you see left
space between his arms right there these
are pretty similar camera angles too so
uh you know I think what we see there is
sort of you know real substantive change
uh and it’s made a difference he’s
certainly up his driving in this world
you know you got to be great at
everything uh but you you know if you
want to be one of the best players in
the world you have to be the best at
something it’s got to be the iron play
it’s got to be the putting it’s got to
be the driving if you’re looking at Rory
it’s the driving if you’re looking at
Scotty sheffler well it’s the driving
and the iron play but you got to be the
best at something and Scotty sheer has
been one of those players that’s been
percolating up towards the top but not
busting through because you’ve got to be
the best at something if you want to
beat the best in the world yeah I I
think it was very interesting listening
very closely to his press conference
afterwards and uh the question was you
know what you got to do over the weekend
uh to win and uh and interestingly he
said self-belief uh it’s not often you
hear a player at this Elite level would
would suggest something like that um so
you know he’s had a number of chances to
win tournaments certainly Riviera comes
to mind a few weeks ago and Faded a
little bit on the Sunday I think Wells
Fargo last year something similar faded
again I know he’s been Olympic champion
he’s a fantastic player he’s won number
his times and big titles as well on the
PGA tour uh but there’s a couple of
Gremlins going in there as players go
through that all the times in their
career you come in and out of confidence
we talked last night about maroy not
having the same quite self-belief
getting over the line in Majors that he
has in PGA Tour events and I think H
there’s a little few Gremlins going in
there with with cha be interesting to
see how he’s going to take it on from
here you know this would be a big step
up in his career H would sit up there
along with his Olympic win as at the
biggest titles that he’s won H as he
moves towards surely you know the
quality of player that he is you know he
is a player that should be looking at
winning major championships and I expect
him to do that
consistency that that he’s displayed it
cashes huge checks he’s a big earner but
he to your point he wants something more
than that he wants the most meaningful
championships in the
sport
