Jared G get his extension first or I’m
and Ross St Brown get his extension
first can they like sign at the same
time no they cannot not in this scenario
have a
moment one will get it this off season
the next will get it the next offseason
maybe what do you want him to
do just I’m out St Brown you want St
Brown to get his extension first
partially because you have a little bit
of flex like you technically don’t have
to extend Jared Goff
but and then it’s you could actually use
probably the same argument for Goff but
with amaros brown the longer you wait
Justin Jefferson’s going to get 30 plus
yeah like like you got to lock him in
under 30 and he’s worth it absolutely
you want to get him at where when he’s
worth 25 27 million which is still the
top of the league it’s about to get to
be 30 plus Abol get locked that in of
course quarterback Market’s the same but
you don’t think of my R I think he’s
like intentionally taking a slightly
like pay cut cuz he could get 30 like
you said but I think he’s maybe leaning
toward 27 28 to help the team yeah my my
question was going to be about that it’s
like does how much more does Jared gol
if he has a very very successful season
I I feel like his contract is the one
that if you wait until next offseason
could actually cost you a little bit
more than if you waited until next
offseason to sign I’m ra definitely

waiting in the balance like you have a
back a cheap backup plan I don’t know if

to say you can just replace scoff but
technically you can that’s the unknown

replace his production but in terms of
filling that roster spot with some
potential at a cheaper value I don’t

me but I think he’s such a unique type
of number one
and it’s so perfect for this team for
this city for this offense for Jared G
yeah like but you going to let him go
the last year his contract not giving
him nothing after he got you to an NFC
title game maybe a Super Bowl next year
you can’t do that you have to take it
you have to you have to reward the
players that got through the hard times
with you exactly that that
performed when everyone was against you
they stuck through it you you reward him
so that the other people coming up for
contract next they know how much work
has to go into earn to earn like I’m say
has earned the contract Jared go has too
but like this is the first homegrown
player coming up the ranks yeah in the

he’s produced like a number one I mean
if you put it that way pay that right
reward him you have to it sets the tone

multiple times is that they’ve called
their shot and they’ve hit their shot
you don’t want to see them start to fter
or go away from the things that they’re
saying from the front office and as
coaches because then your players are
going to be able to see through a little
bit of that you don’t want them to think
that there’s a potential for that wool
to be pulled over their eyes you want
them to be able to believe in everything
that you say and I do believe that that
plays a big part in some of the success
they’ve had yeah but you don’t think by
locking up the most important player on
your team is a quarterback yeah or right
well quarter yeah it’s the most
important position on your team you
don’t think that shows the rest of the
locker room like okay they’re serious
like I think it does show the uh the
rest of locker room something but I do
believe that with quarterbacks the
economy is just a little bit different
and not just how you spend but the fact
that you always know that’s the
important guy a wide receiver can go
another year and say am I really that
important the quarterback knows exactly
who he is on any given team even trash
quarterbacks get paid bro they get paid
so it’s like Jared g i I don’t think
that he has that worry but when you look
across at some of these other players
that you drafted including some of the
ones that are de pieces some of the ones
that are kind of versatile who are going
to put in that work and say you know
what we’ll answer to this organization
to do anything that they ask us to do
because we know that they take care of
theirs I do believe that that matters as
well this is an organization that paid
Jaylen re mayin paid the top special
teams player yeah you’re exactly right
and Robert Swift and Xavier D have a
really good point about it is easier to
replace a wide receiver which makes this
this debate so interesting because
that’s a great one bro I think Amar is
so unique like you’re there’s no
argument there are there you can more
easily replace that position there are a
lot of great ones out there and more
coming but there’s something special
about Aman
ra you can’t it’s hard to deny
that take a phone call but um there’s
really no wrong answer either way you go
with this but I I do understand where
you getting at JB do you have an answer
for us I gotta go with Amar St Brown on
this one no disrespect to Jerry go and

just the simple fact like you don’t have
to resign him but I do agree with you he
you do need to reward him for everything
that he has done for the Lions and all
the criticism that he’s gone through and
just like taking that off of shoulder
especially what he’ll do with us you
know this year but I’ve always stay

and I would like to see what he can do I

happen for another year or two but at

the final year of his contract let’s say

because if you try to franchise tag this
man he may take that the wrong way I

franchise tag you kind of heard it in
the interview he’s confident that he’s
going to be here so I I think you need
to lock him up first and then take care
of a m r they will eventually get to a m
r but in terms of money right now the
market moving you need to lock him up
now before that price gets even higher
and then you’re in a a stickier
situation whether you want to franchise
tag him roll out hen hooker or try to to
resign them at a a way higher price
maybe 10 million more than it would have
been if you just went ahead and did it
this offseason yeah hey I mean whichever
one that decide to sign first it’s going
to be awesome regardless
