ladies and gentlemen welcome to the 2024
seac golf championships hosted by
Southwestern University here at
beautiful White Bluff Golf Resort in
Whitney Texas we are honored to bring
you the 2024
scac men’s and women’s golf
championships here
today again that is hosted by
Southwestern University my name is biley
Middleton I’m here on behalf of all the
seac staff scac commissioner Dwayne
hanberry Russell Kramer associate
commissioner and director of New Media
Delvin Wilson we are just about to get
underway in our first group of the day
here at White Bluff
your men will be going off on the first
t on number one and the women be going
off on the 10th
T our first group of the day today will
be the
pairing of Carter code from Trinity
University Matthew piser Colin Perez as
we await them to tee off on the first
beautiful opening hole here at White
Bluff Golf Resort 43 yard Par Four very
challenging starting hole need a good t-
shot straight down the left center of
the Fairway to open up the green that
pin
location just in the front left of the
green for the first round
today as always you can follow along on
golf stat we have both the men’s women’s
rounds up that is live scoring so you’ll
be able to follow follow each group Ho
by hole they’ll be typing in those
scores on their phones
you could follow each and every hole and
see where teams stack
up three gentlemen on the te right now
exchanging scorecards Russell Kramer
will be your starter today as mentioned
earlier associate commissioner of the
scac
mentioned
earlier right now on the T Trinity
University Southwestern University they
will open up the first five T times
followed by Centenary College Texas
Lutheran University of St Thomas and the
University of Dallas seven total teams
here at the scac Championships first off
Trinity University from San Antonio
Texas
Southwestern University pirates from
Georgetown Texas Shriner University
Mountaineers from kville Centenary
College out of shreport Louisiana Texas
Lutheran University down in sigin Texas
University of St Thomas Kelts in Houston
and finally the University of Dallas
Crusaders out of Irving those will be
your men’s teams for the day
on the women’s side same seven teams
again Southwestern University Trinity
University Shriner University of Dallas
St Thomas Texas Lutheran and centinary
college the women set to tee off on hole
number 10 just to our
left at hole number 10 tea time set you
start at 10:05
that will be St Thomas Southwestern and
Trinity for your first five groups of
the day and then the following five
groups will be Centenary Texas Lutheran
Shriner and University of Dallas playing
in the
forsome so it looks like we have our
first men’s golfer is Russell
Kramer we’ll introduce him
and it looks like that will
be Colin Perez out of Shriner
University the sophomore from Spring
Branch Texas by way of Smith and Valley
high
school and he will kick off the 2024
seac golf championships that ball headed
down the right side of the
Fairway again important important on
this first opening hole to get the ball
in the left center of the Fairway if you
put the ball in the right side of the
Fairway more than likely you’re going to
have to take on that first left center
pin
location again
that front left center pin location
guarded by bunker is on the te now will
be Matthew P Matthew piser the Junior
from Toronto Ontario Canada sends that
one straight down the Fairway good
looking t- shot for Matthew
paser and our final of the threesome
will be Carter code The Freshman from
Trinity also a Canadian by way of
Calgary Alberta Canada I got two
Canadians
here in the group today
steps back off of a couple shots sends
that ball down the right side of the
Fairway looks like it will kick back in
good looking t- shot from Mr
Cod Hills line the right side of the
Fairway so as long as you can stay out
of those trees on the opening hole that
ball will bounce back in but if you’re
in the trees on the
right going to be hard to kick
out and then make your
third approach
shot they’ll head down as our next group
makes their way to the te they’ll wait
on
them and wait for the call from Russell
Kramer tough practice round for both the
men and women on Saturday had about two
two and a half inches of rain here just
yesterday but of course drying out
nicely the tea times for today moved
from their original start time of
83210
a.m. give couple more hours for the sun
to come out wind to blow dry the course
out almost no standing water out here it
is looking absolutely beautiful
today tumultuous practice rounds for the
teams though as I said they were
battling weather throughout the round
wind rain
cold not an ideal practice round but
teams got
out got got a good look at the course
got a good look at the three pin
locations for the
tournament but couldn’t ask for much
better golf weather here today from what
we’ve uh compared to what we’ve seen the
past past
day 2024 scac Golf Championship set for
three rounds as opposed to the past they
will play 18 today on Sunday 18 on
Monday and finally close out the
tournament with their last
18 on Tuesday 54 whole tournament as
opposed to the Past new setup here for
the scac normally it would open up with
h 36 holes for the men on the first day
18 for the women on first day and then
close out with 18 for the men and 18 for
the for the women in the in the final
final round but commissioner Dwayne
hurry and the scac staff electing to go
with the
three-day tournament this year if I have
to say much better format give each team
especially the men a chance to uh rest
recuperate recover after they’re 18 and
come back on the second
day much more recharged than uh than
having to play 36 holes in a
day and of course the women now playing
54 holes used to be just 36
all seven teams set to play 54
[Music]
holes as you’re looking down in the
middle of the
Fairway about
250 yards looks
like Matthew pker right in the center
and Duo of Shriner Shriner’s uh Colin
Perez and Trinity’s Colin code off to
the right as you
look at your camera
our next group the 101t time again
all five groups to open up this round
will be Trinity Southwestern and Shriner
next group will be Grant Clark Sam
McClure and Matthew
McKenzie
for for
still waiting on the te now as Carter
code takes his second shot and it will
be Matthew paser the one who was out
dead center of the Fairway on his
approach again front left pin
location pker will have to take on part
of the bunker unless he likes to go dead
center of the green
his ball sent up
and slight
draw puts that one about pin high and
rolls back
nicely our first opening group will head
up and now we’ll
have number two the 1010 T time
Grant
Clark from Trinity the soft excuse me
the Freshman from Colin Grove Tennessee
takes a looks at his
Rangefinder pulls out driver and looks
like he will be the first on the te in
this second group and while we have a
second we are coming to you live from
the scac YouTube channel we’ll have four
holes for you
today we’ll have featured hole of number
16 green featured hole of number 18
green and while our first groups come
around we’ll pan back and forth from
number one t- box over to number nine
green so as each group comes through and
finishes teing off and as our women come
from
18 up until number one we will go back
and forth from nine try and catch some
putts on nine and catch the women teing
off here in about two hours
first man to tea
off for the second group looks like it
will be Matthew McKenzie a sophomore out
of San Antonio Texas by way of Johnson
High
School he pulls driver sends that one
down the left side of the Fairway that
should be in good shape for
McKenzie next on the te will be Sam M
freshman from Houston Texas more
specifically The Woodlands by way of the
woodlands Christian
Academy fairway wood in his hand and
that one is sent off to the right in the
woods going to have to go and find that
one and kick back
out quite a bit of trees and houses off
to the right of our number one hole
again par four 413
yards and now it’ll be Trinity’s glant
Grant Clark again the first freshman
from col College Grove
Tennessee Clark three-wood in his
hands sends that one and that one will
go right as well he will join McLure
McKenzie only one in the Fairway on this
group
and down the left side he will have a
good shot looking in as you look at the
scorecard from here in White Bluff gives
descriptions of uh of each hole
again tough opening first hole as it
reads a very challenging starting hole
need a good straight t- shot and as a
scorecard recommends down the left
center of the Fairway to open up the
green got that left green side bunker so
plenty of green to work with if you’re
working from left over to the
right especially going over the top of
it with that front left pin location
here today
our Shriner
University golf coach Alan Baxter
Mountaineers coach coming over to have a
word explaining to me that he has a had
a career in commentating when wanted to
wanted to join them join the broadcast
hop on the mic so he commentated in
Europe I
believe he walks over to the putting
green again our women’s teams coming off
on the number 10 hole the first pairing
for the
women the 10:05 T
time St Thomas Emma cot Isabella
Valenzuela from Southwestern University
and from Trinity Lauren hudon they will
lead off that group The
1015 T Time Emma cook from University of
St Thomas Sydney Jackson out of
Southwestern University and Aaron Flynn
from triny
University and jumping one ahead to the
1025 that’ll be Regina Perez from St
Thomas SL Panther from Southwestern and
Alejandra Sanchez DEA FTE
from Trinity
University the opening hole for the
women number
10 sharp dog leg
right want to end up in the left side of
the Fairway if you’re over there water
on the bunker on the right side and then
a Long Carry from well maybe not a Long
Carry but definitely a daunting carry
from from your second approach shot all
the way in green
that whole number 10 playing at about
350 yards par 4 opening hole for the
women
today again you can listen in here or
you can follow along on golf stat Hole
by hole they have live scoring each
player will have their phones in hand
keeping their digital
scorecards those will be updated whole
by hole so feel free to follow along on
golf stat once your preferred group
reaches this past reaches past this
first hole
as we saw t-shot not able to view in
camera
is Grant Clark and Sam mlar they are off
to the right in the trees but as you can
see right on that left side of the
Fairway there is Matthew
McKenzie as he will
wait Clark and mclair
[Music]
to figure out how to punch out from the
woods down on the right side of the
Fairway
Matthew McKenzie again down on the left
side of the Fairway steps up on his
approach
shot sends that one well over the bunker
it looks like it will drop
just on the
lip would have cleared over had he taken
it a little more right but the wind
blowing right to left on this first hole
that one goes back into the sand trap
for McKenzie so he
will have a tough out
going back towards the hole with not a
lot of green to work with
down the right side of the Fairway Sam
McLure able to kick his ball
out on his approach shot he’ll have to
deal with that Tall
Tree just on his right
side Ricky MIT Mitchell The Freshman
covering up his teammate Sam mclair
sends that ball way over the top of the
trees high flying
shot that one the wind carries
it he’ll be in the bunker as well
joining
McKenzie Grant Clark kicked out just
about
50 yards short of the green under that
tree that McClair had to take
on wind swirling now here on the first
two box was calm for the first two
groups but now blowing dead back into
the wind for this third
our third group The 10:20 T time from
Trinity University Aiden Marlo
Southwestern University Ricky Mitchell
and from Shriner University John
Martinez as we will await the call again
from associate scac commissioner Russell
Kramer
and first on the tea will be John
Martinez from Shriner University the
senior out of little Texas via little
high school
Martinez driver in
hand sets up on the right side of the T
box is that
one sent High like it was veering off to
the
[Music]
right and now on the te will
be Ricky
Mitchell The Freshman from Southwestern
University by way of San Antonio Texas
also taking
driver that
ball headed towards the left side of the
Fairway started straight drew a little
bit should be in good shape over there
far better shape
than if he took it
right and our final of the group Aiden
Marlo Marlo sophomore from San Antonio
Texas by way of Church Hill High School
a lot of different choices you can go
off of for this first nine he has
decided to pull a long
iron that one again sent straight but
drawing to the left looking at
it looks like it just got past the group
trees on the left so he and Mitchell
will join each
other it looks like Martinez here is
going to play provisional
ball not quite sure where his shot went
going to go with three wood for his
provisional
much better looking shot on the second
for Martinez sends that one right down
the middle of the Fairway with the
three-wood senior men’s golfer Logan
Poland from Southwestern University
coming over to give me a fist bump he’s
here to support his team
today enjoying the nice weather Logan
there you go
no traffic on a Sunday morning and going
up I35 says Logan plland made good time
coming up here to Whitney Texas again
we’re coming to you live from the seac
YouTube
channel 2024 men’s and women’s golf
championships here at White Bluff Golf
Resort in Whitney Texas
featured holes for you today again we’ll
have number one here we’ll watch all the
men tee off we’ll pan over to number
nine as they come around and then we’ll
go back
to excuse me we’ll also have number 16
green and then number 18 green we’ll
stay here for the women when they come
up after their back nine coming to the
front
nine we’ll stick with you here
and greet
them on the on the first tea here in
about two two and a half
hours follow along on golf stat soon as
the first two times of the day are done
we’ll pull
up golf stat live scoring
here on the broadcast have that score
buug for you that way you can follow
along if you want to watch number nine
green you can follow all the groups
behind them on golf stat we’ll bring up
the team
scores in our round one that way you can
check how your favorite team’s
doing and our 10:30
time making their way to the t- box that
will be the group of Neil sand who Bryce
steyer and Drew Hermes
Meer and over at the 10th T just to our
left about I’d say 100 yards left of the
first T
box again our women’s teams are going
off on their first hole about the 1035 T
time that will be Trinity Lee from
University of St Thomas Rachel Harris
from Southwestern
University and Kona hu from Trinity
and as you can see down the left side of
the Fairway Ricky
Mitchell walks his way back out into the
center of Fairway and out to the left
with him is Aiden Marlo
and Marlo looks
like he punched out on his second shot
Mitchell’s ball will just be under that
tree in that
second golf bag that you see there on
the
left and Mitchell and Marlo will head
off into the trees on the right
and help Mr John Martinez look for look
for his first ball again he hit a
provisional off the
tea that one going dead straight but
trying to find the first one that that
went off into the
trees 10:30 slot probably going to have
to wait a bit as uh
all three of the grouping head off and
try and
find that
ball again absolutely beautiful day here
at White Bluff Resort in Whitney
Texas had about two and a half inches of
rain on Saturday it was cl cloudy
thundering all throughout the day about
seven eight hours worth worth of rain
and bad
weather delayed the practice round by
about two hours only got about 4ish
hours of practice in for these teams
Trinity University not even electing to
to go out on the round they just drove
the course looked at the pins and
decided to call it a day we’ll wait for
the bad bad weather to uh to pass to the
Tigers
that being said rain is gone clouds have
cleared sunny beautiful day a little
windy probably it’s about 50 degrees
when the sun came up this
morning about 60 degrees right
now could not ask for better weather for
the opening round of this 2024 scac golf
championships
and Mitchell and Marlo headed back to
their bags we’ll
see if they have taken their second
shots
yet no they have
not Mitchell pulls his Club he is
sitting just on the left side of the
Fairway
Mitch will call that a fairway hit for
him sends that one far right of the
green looks like a lot of ground taken
off off that shot but for going to miss
anywhere on the first hole right is the
way to do it on the
approach this first pin guarded
by very large horseshoe shaped bunker on
the left side so he’ll have plenty of
green to work with with his chip coming
back towards that front left pin
location Marlo a couple yards
back from
Mitchell slight downhill
lie sitting pretty far back on his
second
shot he sends that one to the
green went long by just a hair did Marlo
but he should be
in a good spot didn’t look like it went
into the bunker just past the
green we’ll introduce our 10:30 tea time
first up will be Shriners Drew Hermes
Meer Hermes Meer the grad student out of
go weight Texas did his undergrad at the
University of the Incarnate Word down in
San
Antonio lots of interesting club choices
for these players on the first
te when blowing back into them we’ve
seen drivers so far Fairway
Wood Three
Wood hybrid and an iron off the tea
Hermes Meer wheel poool driver set up
almost directly center of the T
box he sends that one away likes
it just right down the left side of the
Fairway that is right where you want to
be if you’re Hermes
Meer next on the T will be Bryce steyer
the Junior from Medford Oregon by way of
the St Mary
School comes up on the left side of the
T
box sends that one draws it way left
he will go and try and find that
one on the left side of the green
hopefully staying
in and our last Mana Neil
Sanu from
Trinity sends that one away does the
sophomore from South Lake Texas South
Lake Carol High School the former South
Lake Carol
Dragon he liked to take what was either
a three-wood or a fivewood laying just a
a little further back from Hermes Meer
but
again on the left side of the
[Music]
Fairway Sandu actually sitting dead
middle of the Fairway but as I said
earlier a little further back from Herm
but nevertheless still a good
shot we’ll have all the green to work
with on his approach in
a Marlo down on the green
sitting about 20
[Music]
feet right of the pin location he will
have his
putt all three of
the 1020 T time now putting on the Green
[Music]
again Sanu right now the center of the
Fairway Hermes Meer down on the left as
you see the far left grouping of trees
before the sand trap on the left of the
green that is where Hermes me’s ball is
and looks like
steyer looking for his ball but as I saw
it probably G to have to drop
outside that Hazard
Zone this first
hole definitely challenging so far not
many of the golfers finding the the
center of the Fairway and you’ll find
yourself in trouble if you if you go off
to the right or even to the left
hard to hard to kind of see but that
very left side of the Fairway there’s a
river that runs all the way through
between one Fairway and nine
fairway culminating in the
uh Pawn that sits right before the uh
right before the ninth green and it
looks like steyer’s ball has ended up in
that water so he will have to he will
have to
drop for
update for you on our first grouping
while we wait for the 10402 time Matthew
pker parring his Force four excuse me
his first
hole I can say that right Matthew piser
parring his first
hole Colin Perez also carding a par he
is on his they on the second hole
already carding a par on the second hole
par 4 300 66
yards and Carter Cod the
sophomore bogey on the first hole but
bouncing back and parring the
second again if you want to jump ahead
follow along on golf stat live scoring
have him both for the men and the
women that can be found on golfstat.com
the seac 2024 scac Golf Championship
website and your respective schools
website under live stats and live
scoring this final pairing before we
get a new set of schools Jacob Mason
from triny University Ethan Bridges from
Southwestern and Jake cly from Shriner
University Drew Hermes me we talked
about his wonderful t-shot earlier just
sitting right back behind that last
group of trees on the left absolutely
sticks that one probably about five feet
goes right over the
bunker and he will have a birdie
opportunity
looking for where steyer’s ball end up
at
but this group and not going to be able
to tea off just
yet in the
Fairway telling to hold off
[Music]
Neil sand who who
was about 30 yards back from Hermes
Meers ball dead center of the Fairway
sends his ball up just short
right green he will be chipping for
birdie again Hermes Meers putt also for
biry see about four four feet from the
hole tough to see where Steyr
is at this
point doesn’t appear to be on the
right it’s
ball going out to the
left everybody on the T box kind of
looking to try to find out where stimer
is
[Music]
[Music]
and it looks like
it we go ahead and tea
[Music]
off first on the tea will be Jake cly
from Shriner
University C early the senior from
derping Springs
Texas out of derping Springs High School
the former tiger
cly’s ball going just left side of the
Fairway he will be in a good spot there
and now Ethan
bridges for Southwestern
University the sophomore from Montgomery
Texas joined Sam McClair at The
Woodlands Christian Academy he will have
a
[Music]
three-wood and that ball headed
left Four Bridges kind of on the same
line that Steyr went so he will have to
hope that that did not go in the
river and went
short and our
final golfer of the group Jacob Mason
from Trinity University the Junior from
Westminster Colorado
electing to go driver did Mason sends
that one off lined up just on the right
side of the t- boox trying to take away
that right side but he will also send
that ball left so he and bridges will
head over there to try and locate them
and Jake
cly we’ll see where his ball ended up
but should be just on the left side of
the
Fairway ster able to relocate his ball
now stands on the far right side of the
green not exactly sure what he’s putting
for but we’ll send that one
along so an update from our second group
of the day the 1010 T time Matthew
McKenzie paring his first hole parring
his second
hole Sam MCL Bing the first
hole parring the
second and Aiden Marlo with a double
bogey
on the first hole of the day Grant Clark
yet to have his score come up in golf
stat
and for the third group Ricky Mitchell
bogey on the first
hole we will wait to see the scores as
they come in we’ll get those to
you pairings for the
final 1045 group of the St Thomas
Southwest University and Trinity
Trio excuse me the the 10:35 tea time
Trinity Lee Rachel Harris and Kiona
hu and 1045 Emma Luna Riley Erikson and
Jessica Mason The Sibling of Jacob Mason
who you saw tea off just moments
ago after those three groups go through
on number 10 for the women we will have
Centenary College Texas Lutheran
University Shriner University and
University of Dallas
at 10:55 T time will hold Kaylee Roberts
from
Centenary Natalie Ramirez from Shriner
University and Gabby Ramirez from the
University of Dallas following at
1105 Centenary College Jordan Templeton
Texas
Lutheran
University looks like it will be marer
Maria excuse me
Bustamante Micah Raby and Lauren
Walter cly t- shot sitting dead center
of the Fairway again Bridges and Mason
having to go off to the
left and try and locate their balls or
drop again there is a river running down
right between the first hole
and the ninth
Fairway Fairway sloping down so if you
hit it too far left the hills won’t save
you and bounce it back in that ball more
than likely rolling into the hazard in
the water or you’re going to have a
tough t or excuse me tough out through
the trees to try and get back into the
Fairway cly coming all the way back over
from his wall trying and help Mason and
bridges out but it looks like they’re
just figuring out right now
had to get out of trouble and back into
the Fairway for their approach shots
we will wait Bridges and
Mason’s
punchouts as now we will switch over
from the three College groupings of
Trinity Southwestern and Shriner and we
will move to the
forums all those forums consisting of
Centenary College Texas Lutheran St
Thomas and the University of Dallas
the 1050 T time sixth group of the day
will be Tyler Jones at Centenary College
Luke
Friedrich from Texas Lutheran Antonio
Ramirez from St
Thomas and
[Music]
Ian Craigs from
University of Dallas
so Bridges will make his way to the
center of the Fairway walking behind cly
Mason still
over to the left from
Trinity looks like he potentially had to
punch out from a
ledge and then get all the way up on
that left side he’s taking a full swing
like he’s going to try and get as much
distance as he can out of the rough over
there back towards the
green Mason’s out and after a long wait
cly on the approach
cly sends that one high goes far
right but again if you’re going to miss
the green right is better than
left the first hole guarded by a
horseshoe bunker on on the left side of
the green so he’ll have plenty of green
to work with chipping
back but will be on the right side and
in the
rough so first on the te will be Ian
Griggs out of University of Dallas
Griggs the sophomore out of Madison
Alabama by way of John Paul II Catholic
High
School takes driver sends that one down
the right side of the Fairway but coming
back looks
like that will be a good t- shot for
Greggs
now on the te for St Thomas that’ll be
Antonio Ramirez with driver in
hand that one also leaking toward the
right side of the Fairway but will be in
good shape
next on the T from Texas Lutheran
University that will be Luke friedrick
[Music]
driver in hand as well that looks to be
the play from this group at least sends
that one right down the
Fairway right down the right side of the
Fairway where Martinez and Griggs ended
up and our final of the group will be
Tyler Jones from Centenary
College also electing to go driver
[Music]
sends that one left but cutting
back and he will be safe in the rough on
the left side of the Fairway just past
the first gripping of
trees all four balls of the
forsome in good shape no trouble for
them
for for
score update from our first three
groups Bryce stimer from Southwestern
University making a bogey on the first
hole rookie Mitchell also Bing bogeying
Sam mclair bogey on the first hole
Matthew paser four holes in and his
opening first round sitting at two over
par going par bogey bogey
par also in that first group Carter
code Bing the first hole but finishing
excuse me continuing on in his first
four four holes with three Pars in a row
from Shriner University Colin Perez
parring his first three holes of the
round Matthew McKenzie par par
bogie John
Martinez carding a
seven on the first hole followed by a
bounce back par on the second and Drew
Hermes
Meyer a four
par on the first
hole so the threesome of Mason bridges
in cly all finishing up their putts
on the
green and the forsome of Tyler
Jones Luke Frick Antonio Ramirez and Ian
Griggs all waiting on their approaches
they are all in pretty optimal shape
down the left side of the Fairway as you
look at your camera is Tyler Jones out
of centinary
college you will have a clear
look at the green and
from University of Dallas with the
longest drive of the group is Ian Griggs
and sitting behind him on the right side
of the Fairway Luke Friedrich and
Antonio Ramirez
this 11 o’clock tea
time from Centenary College Texas
Lutheran University of St Thomas and
University of Dallas respectively Devin
Martin Johannes Chang Zack Allen and
Antonio
Alvarez they will have to wait for the
threesome on the green to finish up and
for the forsome to move on
before they can go ahead and tea off for
and the women on hole number 10 also
getting ready
to kick off the halfway
point for the sixth group of the day out
of 10 again that 1055 te time probably
already teed off but that was Centenary
colleges Kaye Roberts Shriner
universities Natalie Ramirez and
University of Dallas Gabby Ramirez the
1105 tea time from centinary is Jordan
Templeton from Texas Lutheran is miira
Bustamante from Shiner University mic
Raby and the University of Dallas Lauren
Walter and then next on the T for them
for the 11:15 will be will be ma
Thompson from
Centenary Texas Lutheran Jordan p
wash Shriner University’s lyanna
galendo and University of Dallas is
Claire
Kirby and they are set to go around as
soon as we have a break with this
forsome we will get you scores from
around the back nine for the women but
we’ll stay right here
momentarily as it looks like
Antonio Alvarez out of the University of
Dallas will be the first to tee off in
this second forsome of the day Antonio
Alvarez The Freshman from 14 Mexico at
of mon Verde
Academy all shots for the force them
ahead look to have been half played two
shots going just short dead center of
the
green it appears that Texas Luther Texas
Lutheran’s freed
deck we have one more shot to try and
get on the Green
but now it will be
Alvarez same as his partner Griggs likes
to go with driver off this first T and
that has seemed to be the club pick
honestly for most of the
groups you can get that ball down far
enough you actually have more space down
further in the Fairway than if you like
to light lay back and try and hit dead
center because if you miss when you’re
further back you can get in all sorts of
trouble and the trees on the right and
the water and rough on the
left Al is choking way down on his
driver trying to get control of it that
will end up in the left rough should be
clear there
no issues over there just got past that
second group of
trees you will have a look at going at
the
green now it will
be the Lefty Zack Allen from the
University of St Thomas Zack Allen a red
shirt sophomore out of Allen
Texas spent some time at mcclinon
Community College before coming to St
Thomas
electing to go with the long arm pulls
it a little right but bounces back into
the Fairway he will have a good
opportunity and a good look at the
green and next on the te will be johanes
Chang from Sha Alam Malaysia
a freshman from
Malaysia pulls hybrid and lines up on
the left side of the Fairway hits a low
Runner that should you be just fine for
Johannes
and our final of the forsome Devin
Martin from Centenary College out of
Watson Louisiana and live o High School
the
senior
gentleman again from previous group
seems like driver is the play here and
that will be what Devin Martin has in
his
hands pull driver lined up on the right
side of the T box looks to have pulled
that one a little left but should be in
good shape if he’s down far enough if
anything will be able to punch back out
in the Fairway and have a short shot
back into the
green scores from around the women’s
back
nine Lauren hudle out of Trinity
University will run through Trinity’s
first going par par bogy on her first
three holes Aon Flynn going bogy parar
on her first three first two holes for
Alejandra
Molina bogie
par Kona par on the first hole and
Jessica Mason bogy on the first
hole again tough
opening first hole for the women on
number 10 that is
a 350 yard dog leg right got to deal
with water got to go up and over the
water on your second shot got to play
that in the far left side of the Fairway
to try and give yourself an an
opportunity on the front so good job by
the Tigers managing that first
hole and Southwestern un
University first woman to tea off was
Isabella Valenzuela she went triple
bogey on the first hole par on the
second and double bogy on the third
Sydney Jackson The Freshman going double
on the first hole par par on the 11th
and
12th Sloan
Panter double bogy
on the first hole just now on the second
hole or excuse me now on the third
hole paring the second hole Rachel
Harris double bogey on the first hole
and Riley Erikson the best out of the
group going bogey on the first hole for
southwestern Southwestern Trinity in the
threesoms paired up with St Thomas Em
maot going double bogy on the first hole
par on the
second and bogy on the par 4
12th Emma cook double bogy on the first
bogy on the second that would be number
11 Regina
Perez number 10 Bing the first hole
parring the second and Trinity Lee
parring both her first two holes number
10 and 11 and Emma Luna the final out of
those three schools boogying number
10 our next forsome do up the 1110 t
time Centenary College will be Jeff
borchard Texas Luther Texas Lutheran
Cody O’Brien University of t St Thomas
Patrick smch and the University of
Dallas Trey
Schneider everyone in the seventh group
of the day the 11:00 tea time able to
find their
ball all have reasonable
approach shots
in first one to hit will
be looks like Zach Allen Lefty from St
Thomas
sends that one far out into the left
that’ll be in that horseshoe
bunker going back out to the right will
he at that front left pin location so
tough bunker shot for Allen coming
up for
as you’re following Along on golf stat
be sure to tune in later on to the 16th
hole we will have camera set up you
can find that hole as well on the seac
YouTube channel that will be the
featured hole number 16
green looks like about four more holes
for the women before you get your first
group coming through for
them and now on the te will be Trey
Schneider
from the University of
Dallas the graduate student they in
Irving from moresville North
Carolina taking driver dit Schneider
that one first one we’ve seen in a while
since the first or second group it goes
off into the right on the trees
following up Schneider will be Patrick
smed from Texas
Lutheran excuse me rather the University
of St Thomas smic the senior out of
Houston Texas and St Thomas High School
electing to go with driver as well
his same with Schneider leaking
right even if that is the case going
into the woods long ride
is far better than going into the woods
short right if you were to take a hybrid
iron or or even three
wood following up smic will be codo
Brian now from Texas
Lutheran O’Brien The Freshman out of
Houston
Texas and St John College Prep looking
at his also off to the
right and the final of the four some
Jeff Porter from Centenary
College Jeff
forart the sophomore from Katy Texas out
of oer D Tomkins high
school as it looks like porit send that
one down the right side of the
Fairway and it will
be Texas
Lutheran’s Cody O’Brien that will come
up and play a provisional plays
his in play down the middle of the
Fairway but he will have to go and try
and look for his ball down on the right
in the
woods the 2024 scac golf championships
hosted by
Southwestern University here at White
Bluff Golf Resort in Whitney Texas again
absolutely beautiful day here in Whitney
we’ll take a break and be right back
with you
for the 1122
time we’ll take a break and we’ll be
right back as we wait for the Fairway to
clear
e
e e
we’re back here at the 2024
scac golf championships at White
Bluff Golf Course here in Whitney
Texas as our second to last group for
the
[Music]
men will wait for their teammates to
clear the Fairway before they te off
our ninth group of the day will be
chance Snell from Centenary
College Marshall Hatcher from University
of St Thomas and Michael Jang from the
University of Dallas and Texas Lutheran
that will be
Tyler
gich once we’re done here we’ll have a
little break with we’ll keep it right
here hoping to time it up just right for
everybody as the first group of the men
come
around on number
nine the number one hole and number nine
hole running parallel to each other
adjacent from the first T box is nine
green as soon as we see our first group
of the day come back through nine green
we’ll point the camera over to number
nine try and get you some action of the
first group and give you score updates
as they come
through and then give you leaderboard
updates but again you can follow all of
that on golf
stat but we’ll be here giving you the
leaderboard updates as soon as our men
make the turn and our women coming
around the 18th again the women’s teams
to kick off the scac Championships going
off of number 10 they will play the back
nine first before coming over to play
the front nine and the men vice versa if
you want to catch part of the back nine
you
can go over to number 16 one of our
featured holes for the scac
Championships again
on the YouTube channel pop over to that
one come back over to here
watch the rest of the mentee off and
then we’ll have number 18 for you here
in just a little bit that will be the
number 18th green and what a finishing
hole that is is number 18 absolutely
beautiful Golf Course all around but
could not ask for a better finishing
hole and as it reads on the scorecard a
great finishing hole a long straight
t-shot into the
wind leaving players with most likely a
long iron or Fairway W
water on the left of the 18th green and
then a bunker on the right and then
about half that green protected by trees
so really only one half of the green to
go
at first two holes of the day on
or excuse me
first first round hole and second round
hole will be on the right side of that
green or nearly
Center so it’ll be a
challenging third round on the finishing
hole for the players
again this number one hole as we close
out the first groupings of the day 413
yard par 4 pin location just in the
front left 12 Paces
on seven Paces
in that green protected on the left by a
giant horseshoe
bunker it pays to hit your drive on the
left side of the Fairway that way you
can go up and
over that Fairway or excuse me the green
side
bucker plenty of green to work
with more green on the right side if you
go on the right side of the Fairway
you’re working with a very small amount
of green really have to put your shot in
the middle of the
Fairway excuse me in the middle of the
green
green if you’re on the right side of the
Fairway cannot go with that flag stick
on the left if you’re on the right
side vice versa on the left side plenty
green to work with as I said you can go
towards the middle go off to the right
plenty
of space off to the right to get up and
down but again if you go left in that
bunker very hard to get up and down from
there
and our associate commissioner of the
scac Russell Kramer will kick us off
it’ll be the University of Dallas’s
Michael
Jen Jang The Freshman out of mckin
Texas not having to go
far just heading down south to Irving
right in
between the Dallas and Fort Worth
metroplexes split that two and a half
and you’ll find Irving
Texas where the University of Dallas is
located
and for the University of St Thomas it
will be Marshall
Hatcher a junior out of Huntsville
Texas spent some time at Jacksonville
College before making his
way over to Houston to become a
kelt he’s got driver in his hands lining
up on the left side of the T box
sends that one straight away best
looking t-shot of the day so far or at
least in the past few
groups right down the just left center
of the Fairway could not ask for a
better t- shot his coach gives him a
fist pumps he knows from everybody else
that he’s seen that was a goodlooking
shot from
Hatcher next on the
T Tyler Gillan
gilvin from shirtz Texas sends that one
away to Clemens High School he sends
that one down the right side the Fairway
and we have three
balls sitting in the Fairway goodlooking
group so far now it will be Centenary
colleges chance Snell
Snell from shreport Louisiana not going
far to play his college golf Centenary
College right in there in shreport
Louisiana Snell out of Parkway High
School that will be our second to last
group here on number
one they will head
down no need to find their balls for
that group all of them all four of them
in the Fairway
and we will wait our last group to come
through the women before they make the
turn our leading
group looking like they are on number 14
so four
more holes to play for the women before
they will be here we’ll take a
break get back with
you and kick off the women’s back
nine as well as wait for our
leaders to come around on to the ninth
green we will have that right here for
you again number one t boox and number n
green number nine in green
sitting right here on on this featured
hole
the overall team leaderboard as it
stands only through one so far
University of St Thomas even
toar tied for a second is Texas Lutheran
University and the University of Dallas
both one over through one and Centenary
College two
over sitting in fourth place through
two and our three leaders who leted off
the day for us Shriner University TR
University and Southwestern University
Shriner through
five that Elite group sitting at three
over Trinity
University again through five in that
lead group sitting at six over as a team
and Southwestern
University sitting at seven over
on the women’s side three schools that
let it off Trinity University St Thomas
and
Southwestern their first groups teing
off of the day are through four holes
trainy University three over so far on
the day University of St Thomas 8 over
and Southwestern tied with them at 8
over the rest of the four schools
University of Dallas Centenary Shriner
and T Lutheran
all on their second hole of the day so
far University of Dallas one over
Centenary one over Shriner University 2
over and Texas Lutheran University two
over on the day we’ll wait a few more
holes to give you an update on the team
scores
and our final for them to tea
off the 11:30 tea time Centenary
colleges Andrew Bennett Texas Lutheran
Toby Willis University of St Thomas’s
Cameron Curtis and the University of
Dall Dallas Rex solier
orcher O’Brien smic and Schneider all on
the green right now and
again wonderful t- shots from the from
the group of Snell
gilvin Hatcher and Jen all four of them
as
you look at your
screen just caking
across the Fairway all four taking
driver and
that it seemed to be the play so far
here on number
one all very good looks
at possibly birdie chanes does that
group if they can hit the
green for
the green will clear and now we will
have our second to last group of day all
lined up across the
Fairway on their approach shots
and from what I can see here it looks
like Texas Lutheran gilich has hit the
green and next
up University of
Dallas’s Michael
Jang his ball not on the green looks
like it landed in that green side bunker
centinary College’s chance Snell the
next one to
go he has also missed the green as it
appears and the final one from the
University of St Thomas Marshall
Marshall Hatcher sitting on the right
side of the Fairway sends that one high
and
straight onto the
green and the University of Dallas is
Rex suier now on the
T he 6 foot1 Jr from Omaha Nebraska out
of kraton Preparatory Academy
solier driver in
hand that ball bounces and just a little
left the wind picking up as he hit that
shot right back into the T
box next man Cameron Curtis from
University of St Thomas
Curtis again driver in
hand is a senior from sebr Texas at
Clear Falls High School that one looked
like it goes off to the
right and now for Texas Lutheran
University it will be Toby Wills Junior
out of richm Texas by way of Foster High
School third man electing go driver
Wills sends that ball down the right
side just kicks back off the hill and
into the rough on the right side but he
should have a good look at the Green in
no trouble is
wills and our final final man Andrew
Bennett out of
Centenary
College Bennett from basier City in
Louisiana Spence some time at Southern
Arkansas
University and ladies and gentlemen that
concludes the opening
first hole of the 2024 scac
championships all
groups now on the
course so we will await our lead group
that first teed off today that will be
the group of Matthew Matthew piser from
Southwestern University Colin Perez from
Shriner and churny
University Carter code we’ll await them
to come on the ninth screen before we
move the camera over from that point on
we will take a break we will be back
here at the 2024 scac golf championships
as we await that first group to come on
to the ninth

whole location today for the number nine
we’ll get that for you in just a second
number nine sitting dead center of the
green 10 Paces off the back nine Paces

center right into the
green good way to end off the back nine

the the men make their way to the 10th
T number 10 a 411 yard par 4 dog leg
right need to make sure your t-shot is

our third women’s group of the day
[Music]
putting drives down the center of the
Fairway for our second women’s group was
Trinity University’s Aaron Flynn she
sits as I said on the screen dead center
of the Fairway great drive there from
Flynn across to her right
is Sydney
Martin and Emma
cook Flynn’s shot goes out into the
right rough just right of the green she
will have plenty of of green to work
with chipping back across it towards
that front left pin and now Sydney
Martin from Southwestern
University dead center of the Fairway
about 20
yards in front of
Flynn and cook just to the right of her
Jackson’s ball
ends up in the bunker on the left of the
green so now it will be
cook stepping up to the
ball sends that one up and over the tree
just on the right side of the Fairway
just short of the green but dead center
she’ll be able to putt that ball and
have a birdie opportunity on hole number
one
the first women’s group Lauren hudston
of
try
ended her turn on number one with a
triple number seven Emma cotch and
Isabella Valenzuela yet to input their
scores but third group so
far making their way to the first te
that will be Regina Perez from the
University of St Thomas Sloan Panter of
Southwestern University and Alejandra
Molina from Trinity University
waiting on
the men’s group
to come in onto the ninth
green we’ll pan over to them shortly and
get you the scores of that group
[Music]
that fourth
group the group of uh Drew hermesmeyer
from Shriner Neil Sano from train
University and Bryce
steyer Herms Meer and steyer’s scores
are in Hermes Meer shot 382 over on the
front nine had a birdie on his card at
hole number two bogie hole number five
and double the par three number six but
sits at two over and a tie for 12th in
the
tournament as it stands
Bryce steer from Southwestern shooting
459 over bit of a mix bag for steyer
bogey the first
hole tripled the second hole went par
par par birdie on the par three number
six two Bogies after that and a quad on
the finishing hole of his back nine
now we go
to the green where it is Ethan Bridges
Jacob Mason of Trinity and Jake cly of
Shriner
University Jake cly has scores inputed
all the way through these six holes so
through the six he was one over par that
lone bogey coming for the first hole
Jacob Mason
scores all the way through the eighth
hole sits at 33 one over for the day
birdi the eth and seventh hole clean
sheet all the way to the first and
second hole
he double Bogi the first hole Bogi the
second hole but from then on put himself
back at one over coming down to the
ninth right now Ethan Bridges scores all
the way through the eighth hole he is
currently three overpar one Bogey and
one double that bogey coming on the
first hole of the tournament and his
double coming at the par three number
six bres sits in a tie for 20th and
Jacob Mason in the top 10
at a tie for sixth one over on the
day for
jumping back ahead to our first group of
the day Matthew
pker going par par par on 10 11 and 12
as does Carter code Matthew pker now in
a tie for 10th code tie for
18th col Perez in a tie for six going
three over on his front nine and then
starting off his back nine birdie birdie
we will await his 12th hole result
but and a tie for six that so far with
one over four the tournament
and now just in the Fairway over to our
right on number
one is the group of Regina Perez from
the University St Thomas Sloan Panter
from Southwestern University and
Alejandra Molina from Trinity University
Alejandra went six over on the back nine
had four Bogies on her card and one
double on hole number
12 Perez four over she sits at a tie for
eighth in the tournament individually
had three Bogies on
the back nine with one double on that
hole number 12 and then a birdie on the
par three number 15 and for Panter six
over she a tie for 13th two Bogies on
her card one Birdie on the par three
number 17 doubled the first
hole number 10 and finally had
a triple bogey on hole number 13 the
rest pars for Panther

final front nine for the
first excuse me the first five groups of
the day but the first three colleges
that went out Ethan Bridges carding a
three over 39 on his front nine clean
card Four Bridges one bogey on the first
hole a double on hole number six but
parring the rest of the way through
seven eighth and nine he sits in a tie
for 17th in the tournament again at
three over Jacob Mason of Trinity
University two over for the tournament
shooting 38 on his front nine as he
makes the turn he is in a tie for ninth
two birdies on his back nine and a bogey
on
the final ninth
Hull and Jake cly in that final group of
those three colleges sits in a tie for
second shooting dead even on his back
nine 36 Bogi the first hole of the
tournament and then birdied the par five
number
seven so we will switch over from
Shriner Trinity and Southwestern to the
four ball group of University of Dallas
Texas Lutheran St Thomas and sary
college the women’s
group heading up to the te now the third
to go off that will be
the threesome of Rachel
Harris from Southwestern University
Trinity Lee from St Thomas and Kono Jesu
from
Trinity Kona carding a 38 on the back
nine two
over for her first nine holes went pars
from number 10 all the way to number 14
birdie number 15 had a double bogey on
number 16 bogey on number 17 and then
finished out her round with a par on the
18th hole Rachel
Harris 10 over for the day
46 all Bogies on her card from 11 12 14
15 16 16 17 par number 13 and then
doubled the first hole and the last hole
she is in a tie for 25th Kiona as I
mentioned earlier from Trinity sits a
tie for second with two over on the
day and Trinity Lee also in that
group as well sits in a tie for
second just two
Bogies on her back nine 12 and 13 the
rest pars for
her and now it will be Rachel Harris on
the T on number one
Harris looks takes a swing picks the tea
up quickly she is in a perfect spot down
on the left side of the
Fairway it will be Trinity Lee from St
Thomas next on the
te we’ll wait to have this group hit
their t- shot and then we will come
over to number nine to get the scores of
the forsome
that for
on the ninth green the forsome of Luke
Frick of Texas Lutheran University Ian
Griggs from University of Dallas Antonio
Ramirez from the University of St Thomas
and Tyler Jones from Centenary
College Antonio Ramirez for St Thomas
through eight holes was three
over 35 Bogi just three
holes on the front nine those coming at
the par three number
three the par five number five and the
par three number six in Griggs 39
through eight holes seven over so in a
tie for
31st Luke
fedck 34 through eight holes just sits
two over on the day he is in a tie for
seventh bogey the first two holes of the
tournament went par on the par three
number
three bogey on the par four number four
and then had a birdie on
six a par three and then par the rest of
his all his holes out he is having a
good
round is
fredek Tyler Jones last member of that
group all bogi’s on his card through one
through
six had a double on Par Four number four
he is seven over 39 so far on the day
sits in a tie for
31st two top 15s in this group so far
frck from Texas Lutheran and Antonio
Ramirez they finish out that hole and
we’ll
head to the par for number
10 Again number 10 a
411 yard Par Four dog leg
right
e e
almost through the first nine holes of
the tournament are the first three
schools that went out in our first five
pairings of the day those three schools
training University St Thomas and
Southwestern
University the last group to come of
those
first five
trios it will be Riley Ericson Emma Luna
and Jessica Mason Jessica Mason of
Trinity Emma Luna of St Thomas and Riley
Erikson of
Southwestern as I said they’re finishing
up their 18 but as it reads as they
walk to the number one t Riley Erikson
in Solo first place Place one over at a
clean sheet through 10 through 17
holes with the exception of the first
hole she bogey the rest pars for her 33
through 17 Emma Luna and sitting in a
tie for eighth place shot a 37 through
17 five over waiting on her number 18 to
come in she had five Bogies on her card
the rest
pars and Jessica Mason sitting in Solo
Seventh
Place her scores through 18 coming on to
hle number one shot a 44
over that is 40
over excuse me shot a 40 and was four
over Bogi in the first hole parred all
the way to the 15th par three where she
doubled that hole went
par bogy on the 17th and then par the
18th
through the first nine holes of the
tournament as it stands at least for
the first three teams to te off triny
University
sits in first place 15 over par for the
women St Thomas 20 over
third place is Dallas they have made it
through eight holes so far Southwestern
University the lead group through 11 at
26 over sh University in fifth at 29
over through eight holes Texas Lutheran
39 over through eight holes as well and
Centenary College 44 over through eight
on the men’s
side Shriner University through 13 is
just three over on the day followed by
Trinity at 8 over through 13 Texas
Luther Texas Lutheran through nine in
their league group they are nine over
sitting in third place and TI for fourth
is St Thomas and Dallas at 11 over again
their lead groups through the first nine
holes and then following Southwestern
University in sixth through 13 holes at
15 over and Centenary College at 19 over
through the first nine holes
so it will be Emma
Luna for St Thomas now on the te at
number one
she was five over for her first nine
holes and that t-shot headed left into
the rough now Riley Erikson for
Southwestern University on the te set
up dead center of the T
box again through first eight
holes 18th hole not coming in quite just
yet she is in Solo first place at one
over on the
day Erikson fires her t- shot walks off
and that will be dead center of the
Fairway for Riley
Erikson appears as if Jessica Mason’s t-
shot went over on the right side of the
Fairway
so uda’s ball bouncing back over to the
right she is on the left side of the
Fairway so all three t- shots in that
final group finding the Fairway on
number one
we make our way
over to number nine
second group coming through it’s Devon
Martin for Centenary College Zach Allen
for University of St Thomas Antonio
Alvarez for the University of Dallas and
Johannes Chang for Texas
Lutheran going through their scores
Devin Martin of Centenary nine over
through eight he shot a 41 on the front
nine sits in a tie for 2 Zack Allen tie
for 25th five over through eight holes
37 Antonio Alvarez for the University of
Dallas five over also 37 they are both
in a tie for 25th and johanis Chang 364
over tie for 23rd as
they will all make their way up to the
number nine
green and EV make the turn go into
number 10
so Johannes Chang now with his
putt he went bogey bogey on the first
two holes par par on the second two
Birdie on number
five folling out with a number
three excuse me on number six par that
hole had a three went double bogy and
then went bogy on number eight Antonio
Alvarez bogy the first three holes went
par almost the rest of the way up until
he doubled number
eight and then Zack Allen three Bogies
on his card a double on number eight as
well and
then Devin Martin 9 over
41 looks like he doubled the first
hole had an eight on the second doubled
the third hole
went par double bogey par birdie the par
five number seven and then par on number
eight
for
for e
and now
back to number
one our first forsome group in the
day Kaylee Roberts from Centenary
College marela Bustamante from Texas
Lutheran Natalie Ramirez from Shriner
and Gabby Ramirez from the University of
Dallas Natalie Ramirez on her opening
nine of the first round of the 2024 scac
championships was 13 over shot 49 on the
back
nine Kaylee Rogers also 13 over 49 on
the back
nine as we wait for gabri R Ramirez’s
score to come in was 48 through the
first eight holes of her tournament 16
over and then

two holes needed to be inputed for
her
