my current routine in my head is to
count from 1 to six so on one I lift my
back heel up on two I lift my toes up
three find my weight four set the club
five swing back and six swing through

  1. 5: You have no press in your hands and you are taking the club immediately inside. Virtually all top level teaching professionals (and virtually all playing professionals) put forward shaft lean at address as the one of two fundamental part of every swing. The second being hands forward at impact. Incidentally this will help prevent the inside yank. Phil Mickelson recently made a poignant video expressing just this. Tiger and Butch emphasized this all the way back in 2000.

    What you skip over and people should really notice is how well you shallow the club on the down swing.
