In their first 6 years Mahommes had the extraordinary advantages of QBing an offensive powerhouse with offensive genius Andy Reid guiding him. Brady had a defensive genius head coach and a weak offense by comparison. Also rule changes have made completions much easier. Being able to go over the middle without fear certainly helps. I find it fascinating that when we compare them head to head, a washed up over 40 Tom Brady beat a Mahommes in his prime TWICE in two meetings, AFC championship game and Superbowl. Brady has 6 game winning drives in the Superbowl too. Manning probably reads a defense a little faster than Brady, but Brady's decisions are a little better. Mahommes is well behind both at both things. What all of this means is that……… Brady > Mahommes.
I think once Mahomes gets some records it's an easier conversation
we almost have to have 2 categories. One for the new game where you can't touch receivers or quarterbacks and one for when this was actually a Tackle football contact sport. Mahomes wouldn't last if he was taking the hits Elway and Montana took. he wouldn't play nearly as long either if he was actually allowed to be tackled and drilled into the ground like the QB's before him. Even Brady played back when you were still allowed to touch the QB. So Mahomes can't be the GOAT of football because he is not playing the same game the others played. Maybe rename it and he can be the GOAT of semi-tackle football.
I have to respectfully disagree. there are no other quarterbacks as talented as my homes. They may have some of his attributes. Josh Allen strong arm however his accuracy is nowhere near Patrick. Herbert strong arm However again his accuracy is nowhere near Patrick He doesn't run as officially as Patrick. Lamar that's obvious. Please name one quarterback who's talent matches up with Patrick. One of the strongest arms in the NFL history, The highest quarterback rating so far in NFL history. One of the most accurate pastors in NFL history. Literally came into the league and redefined the do's and don'ts of the quarterback position all the while I repeat the strongest arm the most accurate arm short pass can run can literally do everything at the most elite of elite level. There's no other quarterback like him In present day NFL. there was no quarterback like him in the past. I can't speak for the future but it's similar to Michael Jordan You may eventually get a player that is out of this world talent-wise However that's when the rings come into play That's when the question were you a winner comes into play. there are no boxes that can't be checked off when it comes to Patrick and there is no quarterback that can stand next to him at all
There's just that intangible "it" factor with Mahomes. He's the only QB in the league right now that can truly make throws I believe no other QB is capable of (see: his scramble and subsequent circus throw to Kelce in the 2024 AFC Title Game vs Baltimore for further proof). Like you mentioned, he has that Inevitability to him, unless you're putting him away by MULTIPLE scores late a la the Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers, he's ALWAYS in it.

I always hated the goat argument because championships are a team accomplishment. Yeah Mahomes and Brady put their teams over the top, but it feels like the goat argument doesn't take into account that there's other factors into account as well. The media ignored how great the chiefs defense was. Same with the defenses the patriots had with Brady's first 3 rings. Brady and Mahomes are for sure generational great QB's, but championships are a team accomplishment. Brady and Mahomes put them over the top,but football is the ultimate team sport.

In the super bowl era it's Patrick Mahomes. Not just bc he's my teams QB. The real G.O.A.T is Otto Graham. He appeared in the same amount of championship games as Brady did super bowls. And Otto won the same amount. In only ten years. Otto won all championships with one team. The Cleveland Browns+Otto played when football was extremely rough. Not! the cookie cutter league Tom Brady cultivated. Now that Brady isn't playing he wants to speak out against all the nonsense.
Great video!! Mahomes is "inevitable". As a lifelong Chiefs fan; I had my heart ripped out by John Elway many times when the Chiefs and Broncos played meaningful games in the regular season and playoffs. Whether or not Mahomes becomes the G.O.A.T.; I am enjoying the ride. Spags just signed an extension and Andy Reid's is in the works. I like our chances in the next several years.
