Golf Rules – Matt Kuchar denied free relief from embedded ball

If your ball is at rest in a pitch mark in the general area – that is fairway or rough, which was made by your ball ball landing in soft turf and staying in there, then you are entitled to relief – Rule 16.3 (provided the Committee haven’t adopted a Local Rule denying relief for an embedded ball in the rough). The ground must have been broken/squashed by your ball, not another ball.
In this video, the player’s ball was deemed to have rolled into someone else’s pitch mark, and relief was denied.
