Met JR at old Chicago Stadium in 1990. Could not have been nicer to me. Signed a card , shook my hand , and asked how I was doing.
Also there for the St. Paddy’s Day Massacre. I have to admit it was pretty nuts. The game had that feel to it from opening face off. Something in the air. The building itself was rockin. It normally was and filled with a host of blue collar city workers, some young urban professionals 😊 and kids like me who snuck in and ran up to the 2nd Balcony courtesy of an off duty Chicago Copper in the Yellow Jacket Security. Saw the Pens win the cup there. But JR was a guy who just from opening face off hit every thing that moved. Still see the boards shakin from up in the rafters. That building was special. Today it’s not even close … sorry…. And I miss Wayne Messmer….
