Tiger Woods’ glorious comeback at the 2019 Masters deserves a deep rewind

This could be one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. It’s Sunday, April 14th, 2019. Were in Augusta, Georgia, for the illustrious Masters Tournament. Tiger Woods is on the 18th hole with a chance to snatch his 5th green jacket. He’s staring down a gimmie putt, but if Tiger doesn’t drain it we’re headed to a four-way tiebreak. But before we see what comes next, it’s been quite the journey for us to get to this point. Let’s rewind!

  1. I was just shy of ten years old when Tiger won the '97 Masters. I think many kids became hooked; even his 2008 U.S. Open tournament (which I don't remember if it has its own episode, but I hope it does if not) was seen by many as him at his top form. But when Y.E. Yang rallied to beat him in the 2009 PGA, that was when the wheels started coming off.

    So, to see him in '19, I can't say I wasn't smiling.

  2. “By far the most prestigious tournament”.
Not true. It is the snobbiest. The most prestigious is The Open. No doubt.

  3. Freshman year of college, Sunday morning. Ran to the cafeteria before it closed so I could get something to eat before it ended. And I’ve never watched golf before in my life. But I realized what I was watching

  4. This is the last golf tournament I remember watching. Started off the Week thinking “well there’s no way Tiger is gonna comeback and win this thing”… but he just kept advancing up the leaderboard… never been that compelled to watch an entire 4 day tournament like that again.

  5. I was at a restaurant eating and it was on TV. You could feel an energy in the place. People were getting into it more and more. We stood longer to watch it end, at which point the restaurant was filling with people to witness this moment lol. It was like we were all cheering for nostalgia. I know I was

  6. All this man went through in his personal life and plus dealing with injuries we all have to learn this NEVER write Tiger Woods off. This man right here is the 🐐!!!! No disrespect to Mr Nicklaus

  7. The British open is the most prestigious golfing tournament especially, when it is held At Andrews SCOTLAND …The HOME of GOLF….C'MON EVERYONE KNOWS THAT

  8. Bruh I watched this live ..as a Tiger fan for a long time and man that final round was something 💯🔥

  9. 2:18 fun fact: tiger proofing is a myth as evident as Zach Johnson, one of the shortest stroking players in the field, dog walking everyone in 07 on a frigid, soggy, recently “Tiger proofed” Augusta laying up on every single par 5 & gap wedging his way into his own green jacket. Woods wasn’t even top 5 in 2006 In Avg drive. Bubba and JB Holmes were bombing well beyond everyone by then. Even last years winner fell outside the top 10 in avg long ball distance . Augusta has layup spots that may be reachable but they don’t get the same forward roll given the layout like they might at other courses

  10. I saw a post about this moment and wanted to actually go and watch it just for Secret Base to post a video about it. Couldn't have come at a better time, great breakdown rewind!

  11. The full magnitude of Tigers dominance is really tough to articulate. No one, and i mean no one, has grown their sport and brought so many people to the game like Tiger. And that 2005 shot on 16 is hands down my favorite shot of all time.
