First…thoughts and prayers to the victims and all who are being affected by the tragic bridge collapse in Maryland. And yes, no one ever thinks of the first responders and the things they see all too often so I appreciate you pointing that out. I have no idea why there werent more dolphins (the structures built around the uprights to deflect/stop/slow down ships or debris from directly contacting the bridge) around the pillars of the bridge. They might have helped. As for the football side, I like the new kickoff rule. The kickoff had become almost pointless, and this rule at least attempts to breathe new life into the play. Im totally against the new tackle rule. The NFL wont be happy until every game is 86-73 and that aint football. Thats basketball, and its a sport I despise. Pretty soon the defensive players will just be padded tackle dummys the offense has to try not to trip over as they run by.
