That northern English accent is different as it used to have more Norse influence, so Guro should have more chance of understanding it in theory. As for languages with the accent, if you enjoy a good laugh, see Ripping Yarns episode "Eric Olthwaite" then watch "Golden Gordon" that is about football and follows on.
