Dan, I understand this shot, release one, decent length backswing, and crisp thru, but as I start to introduce lower lofts, which is where I know your choices lie, my hands panic and flinch still because of uncertainty 😢. I'm enjoying your brilliant book, hopefully practice will resolve that..😊
Hi Dan, I have a question for you. The context: When we're faced with this kind of shot, we absolutely have to take into account the general configuration of the hole (slopes etc.) and above all the distance, I don't think I've forgotten anything. How do you determine the distance from the ball's landing point? By eye, or in a slightly more elaborate way, such as counting the steps between the ball, the hole and the club you're going to use and calculating a 'mathematical' flight-roll coefficient for the ball, depending on the club chosen? Example: I have a distance of 1o metres (+/-11Yds) and, because the lie allows it, I choose to play a 56°. If I take a ball flight ratio of 2/3, for a 56°, that would give me a ball flight of +/- 6.5 M (7.10 Yds) and a roll of +/-3.5 M (3.80 Yds). Am I far from the theory?
Love your videos Dan. Got to say I'd be putting that in a medal for sure. Lot of uphill / downhill, muddy, greenside rough round the greens at our place. Often same distance from the putting surface as you are seeing here. Help needed for these please as costs me 4-5 shots a round. 11 handicap.
I'll be honest; a lot of the time I'm not sure if I'm doing a R1 or R2 but the fact I'm set up correctly, have a fuller backswing and slower tempo has improved me no end. Thanks Dan.
True. Not the best club there. How about a video of you hitting 7 balls with that 56°.. & 7 balls with a more properly delofted club.. to show the difference?

I think you hit ground before ball.

@Dan: would you have favoured a 48° or 52° wedge with a release 1 instead of this release 2?
Release Numbers 2 ?
Hypnotic
From the fringe?!!!

That sound!😌
That’s exactly how I play it 😬😂😂
Yeah….not my first choice either…that shot for me is a 7 iron bump n run all day! 😂
Just stops on a dime 🔥🔥. An incredible shot from an incredible man

I feel like most of his shots are so hard to excuse… so handsyyyy but at the same time it's so good when mastered.

How so much spin?

Crazy how good he is
What a good shot but even a tour pro is putting from there 😂
Why do i always shank these shorter chip shots. I’m fine with a full swing but when I try to chip these 20-30 yard chips I tend to shank them?
That strike 🔊 is so pure
I’ll tell you my first choice. The damn putter 😅😅😅.
I could just watch that on a loop all day. And I'll bet you even made the putt!
Aimed way right then pulls it

What was the first choice?
Lame. You pull out the putter there every time.
I sunk a chip from a bit further with a 9 iron yesterday..im never using my wedges again haha..the 9 works soo well
