The Inevitable Chemistry Between Trayce Jackson-Davis & Klay Thompson

With the regular season winding down, the Warriors traveled to Houston and pretty much sealed them out of the play-in tournament. I wanted to highlight the chemistry of Trayce Jackson-Davis and Klay Thompson on off-ball screens and on-ball pick-and-rolls to create open threes or layups, so let’s break it down.

  1. I honestly like this lineup more than the one with Dray at the 5. It's 2022 Champion Warriors starting lineup but just replacing Kevon with a more athletic big. It'll probably end though when Kuminga comes back

  2. who would've thought this kid would work so well with Klay. Well, he is more of a vet. I am going to guess that today against the Mavs, they are going to use the same tactics where they pick Luka from half.

  3. It makes no sense how TJD ended up being a 2nd round pick? The guy looks and plays like 5 year veteran!

I'm starting to think that many GM's really don't do any actual scouting and just draft from a pool of draft eligible players that were hyped up by the media!

  4. TJD has some shades of Javale McGee & Bogut in his game. Athletic enough as a vertical spacer & high enough IQ to make plays out of the short roll or slips

  5. This kid is no rookie, more savvy than some vets in that position. Always ready to receive the ball and knows when to go up with it. Yup, it’s “y’all gonna be sorry, I promise..” alright.

  6. So happy for their synergy…
So happy especially for Clay at this point in his legendary career. Love the guy. TJD too. Go dubs.

  7. Best lineup is Steph Dray Kuminga Klay and Trayce. Wiggins is too inconsistent I prefer Kuminga over him, we have to start Klay cause we just don’t get enough offense from a starting unit without him. I’ll take Klay over Podz at this point. Trayce just changes things immensely cause now when defense give all the attention to Steph and Klay well they can just lob it to Trayce for a easy put in. It’s a whole new dimension on the offensive side plus we have a shot blocker. I hope Kerr draw up plays where Draymond has the ball and Steph and Klaybuses their selves as decoys for Trayce easy put ins. A true 4 man pick and roll we can go punch for pouch with Nuggets.

  8. this could happen cus klay got benched to go with the 2nd unit and play along with tjd, and thanks to cp3 who build up the 2nd unit, those rookies are already prepared. its kinda amazing how these 2 rookies fit, adjust and play along just fine with the whole warriors system in their first season.

  9. I’ve said this from the start, TJD should have been starting C in November. Steve wasted games letting him ripe on the bench.

  10. Trayce Jackson-Davis is a smaller version of Jaxson Hayes. Who was sitting on the Lakers bench INITIALLY as a 3rd option. While in New Orleans was a 2/3 rd option but every time he entered the floor the Pelicans offense would take off. So question: Did Steve Kerr JUST get tired of the Looney Tunes show and on a "whim" put Trayce Jackson-Davis in? Because CP3 is such a great facilitator he was able to showcase to the GSW and the world the Trayce Jackson-Davis skillset!!!??? So really, Steve Kerr is the problem — cause for years they had an opportunity to get Jaxson Hayes (very similar playing style to Trayce)! YET, because Steve Kerr (to a fault) gets tunnel vision was unable to see Looney Tunes was done. They also had an opportunity to get the ultimate center who is the very best at doing what Trayce is doing; that being Javale McGee.

  11. I saw this on twitter that every great warriors lineup always starts with a 5 (Bogut/Loon/TJD) and ends the game with Dray at the 5 (Iggy, Wiggs, Kuminga at the 4)
