  1. I just had a lesson on this exact technique. I immediately began to hit my 6 iron in the high 180-yard range, which was about 10 yards farther than normal. However, when turning my hips on the downswing, I had a hard time keeping my eyes over the ball. They wanted to turn as well and I was hitting the ball (somewhat fairly well though) with my eyes already looking down the fairway. I would assume it's important to keep your eyes/head over the ball while turning your hips though? Any tips or suggestions on that?

  2. Great lesson.
    Force = Mass x Acceleration.
I need speed, body movement and club head timing and positioning.
    Back to the range.😀

  3. Awesome videos and instruction Steve. I have added so many yards following your suggestions ! Thankyou for your time and knowledge ! Over 10 yards for most irons or more, and over 30 to 40 yards for the driver. Example, 7 iron from 140 to 150 plus, driver 230 to 260 plus. Will be 71 yrs old this May, but still strong for my age. Former football player but still in the gym pumping that iron!

  4. How does this relate to "keeping your back to the target as long as possible" while dropping your arms towards your right pocket?

  5. Fantastic timing Steve. I at times have a good body rotation with poor release and just the opposite at other times good release and poor body rotation. I say body rotation as my coach has so often pointed out the whole body needs to work in sync. Thanks.

  6. One of the best videos yet- a classic- that is how golf should be taught from the outset not the BS we get instead. Want to get open while maintaining forward bow (flexion of spine) to get into position to impact the ball.

  7. crazy, this works off another concept to add. If you stick out your arm like you said and slap with it but rotate it 90 degrees up, its EVEN better. you can feel elbow close to the body and get the right plane

  8. Interesting and thanks, got to be hard coming up with new concepts and ideas that illuminate the golf swing each week.

  9. Just came from the range where i tried out this idea. I hit the straightest iron shots of my 8 yr golfing career. Loved that. However, my 8i only goes 140 yrds now, whereas i've been hitting it 150-160. I'll try a few tweaks to get the power back but this idea is a great baseline i can always fall back on.

    Thank you, Steve!

  10. Trevinos shoulders didn’t look that open, hips yes but shoulders slightly. One thing to note when the RT arm is that bent at impact chances are good that your getting a fade. Also it’s very difficult to release the club when that trail arm is that bent

  11. What if the balls below your feet. Do u just squat more? I feel like im falling forward if i do side bend when balls below feet.

  12. Thanks for the video, that is the piece I was looking to understand my puzzle, my coach keep telling me don't think on the arms or elbows or hand just swing, but i keep early extending, and I was thinking i need to delay the hit, when i see your video everything accommodate, thanks a lot, I you offer lessons I will contact you, again thanks a lot

  13. After back issues I have developed a hook. Just starting to realize Im not rotating enough in a sub conscious effort to protect my back. Your video reinforces the idea for me to rotate much more and earlier and try to get front on at impact. Thank You

  14. Great video and tremendous insight and detail. And your delivery is spot on. I quickly hit the subscribe button. Looking forward to more content.

  15. Even without the pressure plates it's easy to see how far ahead your arms and body are in relation to your legs, that should be an easy red light for any half baked PGA coach,

  16. I get what you’re saying from a feel perspective, but it isn’t possible to hold a golf club with your right arm straight out to the side. Reality is hands are more or less in front of the trail shoulder once at P4. I do like the concept of feeling like your body rotation brings the hands around the body rather than using your arms to swing them around. I follow the thought of arms raise and lower the club and body rotates the club, until we get to release.

  17. I had it almost a year ago now, finally, and things just get better. I hope everyone has it happen before the last round-up.

  18. your demonstrations are so clear and understandable, and they really work on me, but sadly I too often do not follow them.

  19. My lightbulb moment was driving my body/club through the ball instead of using all arms/shoulders. My drives have been longer and straighter

  20. This is very helpful. The look of being bent over sideways coming through the ball is what I see all the pros doing but could never figure it out.
