  1. You could have said the same a few years ago about Peter Finch, he could get in his own head and get down sometimes on the course. BUT, Peter didn't just conquer that, he turned himself into a humble, witty, and charismatic content creator. When Pete used to get down in a bad game, now he's still awesome to watch as he'll joke about it, he's found his wit and maybe he's now aware that he's not on YouTube to become a pro golfer, he's there to make enjoyable content, and he really does that consistently.

  2. One of the main things I love about watching GM and Grant is the positivity they have. I’ve adopted that mindset on the course. Rick seems more excited doing club reviews and cutting golf balls in half.

  3. It's been 6 months since I've finished a bob does sports video because the golf is just pathetic. Lol

  4. Yes. Almost unwatchable. Pete was going that way but has started being more happy and it’s fun to watch again. They are entertainers, entertain or go away.

  5. Bryan bros and their combo videos with the boys are my favorite to watch at the moment. I haven't been watching Ricks videos really of late, the content isn't bad when I do though

  6. Rick is awful to watch 10 handicap at best, the golf is bad which i dont care about but both him and Guy have let the success go to their heads, become very pretentious,

  7. I'd almost love to see Rick & Iona become a regular collaboration team – her overall positivity, especially in the face of her past physical golfing issues, feels like a great counterbalance to the rut that Rick can tend to get himself into with poor play. The Scotland video they did was fantastic. I see Iona as being able to pick him up when he's struggling a bit – would love to see something like a "Break 75 Across the Globe" with that duo, as unlikely as it may be to happen.

  8. Your content gets pushed to my feed pretty regularly the last little while (I must have commented on another one of your vids or something), and I’m trying to understand the purpose of your channel. All I ever see from you is negativity around the YouTube golf sphere. Who’s got beef? Why did this person or that person do this or not do that? Rick Shiels is unwatchable. All I see from you is an effort to build a following by stirring up shit. It’s disappointing, and I wish I could make it go away. I’ve never needed or wanted to block a channel from appearing on my feed but because of you, I’m going to figure out how to do that.

  9. Honestly most of the you tube golf channels have been hard to watch lately. Outside Bryan bros and Grant , everything else been hard to watch

  10. It’s hard to watch because he’s not owning his skill level… constantly walking through his shots but doesn’t have the skill level to execute them. He need to rebrand himself and play more fun chill golf like Bob does sports . Too many good channels with Bryan Bros, Grant , Luke etc

  11. It’s getting to the point where I don’t even want to watch Rick’s videos because of his talking down about him self! I know golf can and is frustrating for time to time! But if you’re golfing for a living! Just enjoy your round, maybe one day Rick will turn it around we shell see

  12. Yeah, it would be much better if everyone was exactly the same. He should edit his videos so it looks like he only hits great shots, and hes always super happy. Im glad he puts himself up there for us all to see. Warts and all. Best golf YouTube channel by miles.

  13. Rick Shiels has yet to come to terms with what his skill level is. He puts out Break 75 when he really should be concentrating on Break 80 – no wonder he gets frustrated. Unrealistic expectations. That silly laugh when he plays a bad shot as though it is totally a surprise – not to us. His pre shot predictions of what he will try to do and the reality of the outcome rarely coincide. It's becoming painful.

  14. Had to stop watching Rick, was making he lose hope of ever improving at golf. If this guy can get tuition from the world's best, putting lessons from Faxon, short game lessons from Dan Grieve, coaching with Dan W and James R, advice from Poulter, Westwood, Fowler, etc, access to any clubs he wants, a home studio etc etc…

    And he still can't improve?

What hope for a weekend golfer like me?

Also, walks across a whole country and still gets fatter? It's like he actually wants to demotivate people.

  15. To keep it interesting you need good guests and banter we know the level of golf most of the you tubers can play too and some are a lot better than others makes no difference to me if they they can break 70,80,or 90 as long as they make it fun

  16. When he realises he is not the golfer he thinks he is he might start enjoying himself. Personally I only watch to see him suffer.

  17. Rick is not a good player. He should have stuck to teaching. I can't take him seriously about instruction or watching him play.

  18. I've seen too much of Rick playing poor golf as of late and I've lost interest in watching him. He's either got to step up on more practice to sharpen his game, Or realize that he's over the hump (age) and is loosing his game. Either way I'm not going to watch his matches anymore.

  19. It's very hard to watch someone that doesn't seem to change bad habits. Took a lesson on short game from Dan Grieve, doesn't use anything from it. Westwood gave him feedback about a consistent shot routine…nada. talks constantly through through every shot. Talks himself out of the shot, gets in his own head too much. Needs a mental coach.

  20. Big expert, or so he claims. He struggles to play well these days. Gets millions of views but I am sick of seeing him. Unsubscribed from his channel a log time ago. The game against Garcia…Shiels played terribly. He launched another channel to showcase his studio to review clubs but after blowing his own trumpet about this, the new content stopped months ago. He’s got really boring. Past his “sell by” date now.

  21. RS is unbearable. He's nothing but an excuse machine. Been saying this for years. He's in brutal shape for a thirty something man. Bearded beta. Nothing he says is interesting or informative

  22. He needs a proper club fitting with NEW clubs and a swing coach to help him dial in his constant mistakes. His ego stops him from doing that. Almost every YT golfer has a WITB video with new and forgivable clubs.

  23. I had to stop watching Rick about a year ago. Watching someone miss a wedge in to a par 5 green that is designed to accept a 220 yard shot is hard to watch. But missing the green from short range is something we all do from time to time. It's impossible to watch someone do that repeatedly, over the course of months, without improvement (even after Nick Faldo explained to him that he is too steep with his wedges and that he needs to shallow out). Between that and the negative self-fulfilling prophecies, I wasn't enjoying his videos anymore.

  24. It's hard to watch because of how negative he is. Listening to people bitch on the course all day sucks and brings your game down with it.

  25. I just find rick and especially guy cheesy and cringe. It seems so staged now and over thought… Rick was peek when he was collaborating with finch, fryer ect doing matches with mates joking around
