So yeah that’s that’s my saint slot good side out of those um is there any that you’d give the world class stamp to um no no are you going to inir maybe it’d be the closest yeah he’d be the closest what didn’t he do for you then to not quite get it

Um it’s a good question actually this is what we been finding on this podcast is so tough to give and so tough to Define what world class is yeah because I think Allan was great at what he did um you know uh I think there were some

Deficiencies in his game um so his left fo wasn’t uh particularly good um as the years went on I think he became uh more of a an out andout goal scorer and didn’t really want to get involved too much in the right in the rest of the buildup play and stuff so I

I just think he was just that little level below what I would describe as world class okay interesting yeah yeah I was going to ask um because like you said maybe he hasn’t got the blistering Pace or the amazing technique he’s just seems to be a very good allrounder all

Came together old fashioned proper Center forward but with a little bit so see when Allan was playing for us when me and Rodney were playing on the wings um we actually me and Rodney both outscored Allan in the 8990 and 9091 Seasons Allan didn’t get anywhere near

The amount of goals me and Rodney got uh because the way that we played we were kind of me and Rodney were Wingers that like to come inside and score score the goals we weren’t kind of take your man on get across him for someone else um so

What it meant was that Allen used to do all these runs in the channels and he he would end up running the channels and he would end up Crossing to to me and Rodney sometimes so I I think when he went to Blackburn Kenny he actually said

To him look he said I’ve got two great Wingers I think he had Stuart Ripley on One Wing I think in Jason Willcox and the other yeah he said I don’t want you moving outside the 18 yard box he said they don’t need you to do that so Alan

Was like woohoo this is great goals and that’s what that’s that’s why he got he did what he did you know the manager believed in him and played to his strengths yeah

  1. Shearer was world class. During his era the similar strikers were Batistuta and Vieiri and I don't think many would argue Shearer wasn't on a par with these guys.

  2. I don`t agree with him but
he does and he is the one and only Matt LeTissier so he can say what he wants .
A legend on the pitch and a rebel off the pitch.
The world needs more rebels say what you want.
Free speech and humour will never die !

  3. Shearer was a world class finisher. Used to blast the ball in like Batistuta. His allround game wasnt world class though

  4. shearer scored goals from inside and outside the box…volleys, half volleys, headers …great striker…one of the best

  5. Shearer could head, shoot, take penalties, score free kicks, score tap ins, low shots, volleys outside the box, he could cross a ball on a six pence too and beat a man. He was truly world class, the only reason he became an out and out goal scorer was due to injuries. His legs were gone but he still got 20+ goals in 2002 and 2004 in the PL.

  6. It all comes down to the definition people use as world class. My own definition is if you pick a team from any player in the world, would they make it into that team. For me Le Tissier is right, he'd be close but not quite there. Yes he was fantastic in England but you have to look at what other strikers were around at the time.

Ronaldo from Brazil would probably be the #1 stand out, you also have the likes of Kinsmann, Raul, Battistuta, Vieri, Stoichkov etc, Romario coming towards the end of his career, the likes of Henry starting out on theirs. You also have the secondary strikers such as Bergkamp and Zola. If i had to pick a front 2 or front 3, Shearer wouldn't make it from those available in that era, he might make the subs bench tho.

  7. His strengths were in the box that’s where he was told to play, so you can’t really criticise Shearer for not getting involved in build up play no?!?!

  8. Shearer was good but not world class. If he’d signed for Utd he probably would have become world class and he’d have won a shed full of trophies too. He must wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat over the ridiculous decision to go to Newcastle. And he was one boring bastard. His goal celebration was like cardboard.

  9. Of course Shearer was world class. WTF are you all talking about? Le Tissier sounds like a really bitter "never was"

  10. 🤣 shearer was world class no doubt about it he was Powerful & to be the record scorer in the best league in Europe he was quality

  11. Dont forget to subscribe to the channel to help us out! Help us get to 1,000 subs. ❤ We are looking to have matt on again later in the year, let us know if you have any questions for him.
