Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson respond to Rory’s comments that golf isn’t sustainable in current form

For Phil and John uh Rory yesterday said he doesn’t believe golf in its current state is sustainable do you agree with him and do you think that the circuits need to be reunited go ahead John um I I think I agree with that statement yeah I’ve um every time I get asked a

Question like this I I say the same thing I think there’s room for both it’s as simple as that and I think we have the opportunity to end up with an even better product for The Spectators and the fans of the game you know a little bit more variety doesn’t really

Hurt anybody so I think uh I think properly done we can end up with a much better product that can take golf to the next level worldwide and uh I’m hoping that’s that’s what ends up happening yeah I I agree with that I think in the end like we’re in a

Transitional state where we now we now have competition and that’s leading to a lot of disruption and change but it’s also in the end product going to be make golf more Global where the best players travel more I don’t know how it’s going to end out exactly or what it’s going to

Look like I’m putting my trust in uh in yaser and and and where where the game’s headed more globally but at some point when it gets ironed out I think it’s going to be in a much better place where we bring the best players throughout the

World I think it’s going to open up opportunities uh for Club manufacturing for course design for players uh in different parts of the world to be inspired and and enter the game and um I think it’s going to be in a much better place but right now we’re in a in the

Disruptions phase so um we’re in the middle of the process and um when it’s all said and done it’ll be it’s going to be a lot brighter but while we go through it it’s a it’s it’s challenging but we’ll we’ll get there

  1. Golf has peaked amigo, and we dont need more chops and hacks out there…try getting a tee time lately for less than $150….its comical out there

  2. Happy for them, I just don't get the format. Teams? Golf teams? Logos? It's beyond my attention span.

  3. I’m hoping all the clowns that took up Golf during Covid, will get bored with it and move onto something else. I’ve been playing golf since the early 70s, and it is now difficult to get a tee time, and greens fees have skyrocketed.

  4. LIV is nothing more than a 3 day shotgun start golf exhibition in shorts. The format is joke! They only went over there for the massive guaranteed $$$$ they all got. They won’t be showing off any of their trophies in the future but they will be flaunting what all the $$$ bought. I just wish they would’ve had the guts to admit $$$$ was the only reason they jumped ship. Instead most of them gave some ridiculous word salad.

  5. It really sucks not seeing the top guys compete every tournament hopefully they figure something out to bring them all back together soon because watching Stephen Jaeger win a tourney just isn’t fun
