Xander Schauffele, after sleeping on a third-round lead in the 50th playing of The Players Championship was unable to hang onto the lead and was chased down by Scottie Scheffler & Wyndham Clark. While statistically Schauffele has the status of an elite golfer, winning majors has eluded him. With a missed opportunity to win The Players and catapult himself into that next category, it begs the question of whether we will see Xander Schauffele elevate himself into the next stratosphere of top tier golfers.

Really solid drives the ball the iron play putting all very solid but is it Elite on the PGA tour level professional golf level what did you what did you think of that um going into the round did you did you feel like that could be defining for
Him yeah I mean honestly I felt like like for either him or uh wam Clark this could have been a defining like a defining really win but like I guess more so for shlea was a more defining win for Windham Clark it would have been
More of like a stamp of like yes I am legit because he already won twice now so this would have been weird win number three the fifth major so of course you know the players would have held it in high regards and and of course you know the the Golf Channel people definitely
Hold this in high regards because they’ve been trying to elevate it themselves for a while four for four for Clark you know got the Wells Fargo last year the US Open Pebble Beach earlier this year so this would have been oh and I feel like people were questioning Clark’s validity um just
Because the Pebble Beach was shortened you know you’re always going to have doubters out there so I think this would have been kind of that seal of approval that he belongs in that tier I still think very highly of where he’s going and and what his game is going to show
