A lot of conversation he wound up of course going to the Chicago Bears in a deal you know just little background at one point the Chargers were 55 million over the cap then of course the salary cap went up so that gave them a little

Bit of relief but they had to they had to reduce the cap number and they had to cut players loose players took pay cuts some players retired Joey Bosa took a four million cut KH Mack took a 7 million cut to help them Keenan Allen

Was asked to take a 4 million cut and was given a contract extension for one additional year a little bit of a different price he said no and within a day he was traded to Chicago for a fourth round draft pick Allen Wanted 24 million a year few receivers in the NFL

Make that clubs with big cap problems can’t afford to sign anybody like that I guess there’s burning questions afterwards is Allen going to be happy in Chicago they’ve had virtually no offense for years and years yeah granted they’re going to have Caleb Williams but that’s Caleb Williams rookie in the NFL by the

Way it’s Chicago that’s cold that’s windy that’s snow they don’t have a history of throwing the bloody football Kenan Allen’s going there just for a Payday when he could have been here help keep this team together and maybe finished out with a Hall of Fame career

So did Allen wind up getting a good deal by denouncing the Chargers ideas did the Chargers get enough I mean the guy’s got 94 career receptions he’s had a couple injuries but he’s played a ton of football all they got was a fourth round draft pick for Keenan Allen I don’t know

That they got enough there and I think the bigger issue the Chargers now you look at their depth chart they stripmine their offense you know what strip mining is right yeah yeah right they do that in West Virginia with a coal yeah you know I just tear off the top of the landside

And all you got is what’s left after they take the coal out they strip behind the roster no Austin Eckler no Keenan Allen no Mike Williams no Gerald Everett yeah that’s a lot of talent around Justin Herbert so that’s a big issue there so what now I know you’re always

You must have been a member of a union You Were Always On The Players side as it relates to anything dollars and cents related but Keenan Allen handled this right um I don’t know I mean I mean there’s obviously a lot of history here um and many contracts longtime guy with

The Chargers again I don’t blame him for going because show me the money he got a contract you fulfill the contract show me your union card yeah well you know it’s funny though that um it gives it gives you greater insight to the motivation for most players because you

Know as fans we like to think that we’re all part of this this tribe and we’re all going to go out there and win one for the team but for the F for the players it’s their profession and you know these are opportunities uh you know

So I don’t really I don’t blame him at all the Chargers it is interesting I mean every one of those names you listed is their starter in one of the skill positions but they had to get rid of a lot of guys because the math didn’t add up exactly

  1. No, he didn’t make a mistake leaving the ever-cursed Chargers who still have the same number of Super Bowl rings as my Chocolate Lab.

  2. Keenan made a mistake. Chargers will win a SB and he will be done in a couple of years once Caleb flames out. Good move by Harbaugh…let’s move on.

  3. Keenan did not make a mistake. He got paid. He's a professional athlete. Chargers winning a superbowl is just a hope.

  4. Neither side won. BUT… y’all keep forgetting that Harbaugh, A QUARTERBACK, does not value the WR in his style of offense that others do. Much of the philosophy boils down to fewer possessions for both teams and shortening the game (passing teams are hurt by this greatly) while being very efficient scoring per possession. Run the ball, play defense, keep the clock moving. TEs that are mismatches (Vernon Davis) are worth more to him. They do two things, block for the run game AND catch the ball in mismatches over the middle (that also keep the clock running). The Chiefs just won a Super Bowl with a very average WR room. What did the last too many season get us with these WRs chucking it all over the place. YOU wanted Harbaugh, and now you have him (a good thing IMO). But it seems like you wanted him to spread magic fairy dust over what he was given and make it work when others couldn’t. NOPE. He knows how to build a winning program, and chucking the rock all over the place is not how he does it. Would you rather have more of the same, wasting ANOTHER HOF QB (Fouts, Rivers) and throw for 5,000 a year, or keep Herbo healthy, throw for 3,000 and make a serious run at a championship year after year? Unless you are a fantasy football player and love Herbert on your team above real football, the answer is clear. TRUST THE PROCESS

Remember. More bad things can happen during a passing play than a running play.

  5. Keenen got paid so no. He’s already had a hell of a career and is in his final years so good for him by getting paid. 💪🏼

  6. No mistakes made. Allen gets paid. Chargers have the opportunity to draft a WR1 (I am not optimistic about QJ).

  7. We love Jim Harbaugh, he will do what's best to beat the Chiefs! Do what you gotta do Jim, you are a proven coach is all about building a legacy.

  8. The thing is everyone is forgetting he had Herbert and they developed a good connection. Don’t think he will put the numbers up like he did with LA

  9. Good for Keenan Allen. The Chargers hired Staley and spent a ton on defense thinking they were in the win-now mode. Well, Staley flamed out and the overpriced defense sucked. In the meantime, Keenan Allen put together 3 solid seasons from 2021-2023 and now they want him to take a pay cut. The defense deserved getting a pay cut, not Keenan.

  10. They needed to haul them all away. That team went 5-13. That isn't just on the coach players play a role. Harbaugh realizes they're only a few worth keeping

  11. A lot of talent around Justin Herbert lost. So freaking what, they finished 5-12 obviously the talent u were talking about is way overrated

  12. Couldn’t believe the keenan trade when it first came out. After hearing he turned down a pay cut and said no to an extension to stay a charger for life, good riddance. He clearly cares more about money than winning and it shows with the decision he made. He also missed the back half of the season so it’s not like he was fully healthy. Wish him luck but it was a terrible move to not take the cut on his part.

  13. Refusing to take less than the team agreed to pay you is not 'forcing a trade.'
KA had no say over whether he was traded or not. That decision was 100% on the Chargers.

As to whether it was a good idea, I guess we'll see what the future holds. I personally think it's poor roster building to open up a hole in your team that you can't fill with the assets you get in return.

  14. If gates isn't a first ballot Hall of Famer, what is Allen going to be after a couple years of forgetful football?
