Right United have been credited with an interest in multiple Defenders ahead of the summer transfer window with the futures of Varan Maguire Evans all up and down it’s now begin to being suggested that we are tracking bcka Junior’s Defender anelo now he joined bcka Academy at age 12 he signed a new

Four-year deal just in January and bcka are said to be well aware of the interest in him and I’ve subsequently placed uh a 25 million pound release cause in his contract um asking for around 16 million should this figure not be met now they would likely put off a

Number of clubs with that potentially even including United who have got Financial fair play looking over our shoulder as it stands um but is it a deal United can pull off um they might just get themselves a real gem if we do now there’s some um great threads that

Have been put together and this one’s been put together by uh Ben mattinson and I’ll throw a link to that one um because he’s given us the basis for some of the information that’s on this um but we’ we’ve got and had a bit of a look at

Him as well uh so we can make this video but shout out to Ben for for doing an excellent job with this now uh Aon anselmino um 61 18 years of age Center half right footer potential link up with Martinez in the future um club and Country powerful potentially technical

Ability um so anel mino’s already been recognized as one of the most composed Center half prospects in World football World football not Argentinian football not South American football World football and his comped style has been linked to um both Rio and Virgil Van djk and that allows him to deal with

Pressurized situations quite effectively not going to be rushed not going to be erratic very very composed he’s got excellent range in his passing which is shown to be um pretty good with 12et I think it was safe to say uh and he often gets tax going um by either spraying

Passes um or breaking lines from deep and he’s got really good pass selection and Technical Security in the buildup phase as well which means that he’s got this overall level of reliability um in the bat line which is seemingly making him a very valuable first phase asset he’s also got

Um very much like Martinez a blend of composure and aggression and it’s quite well-timed aggression as well he’s already shown that he’s got the ability to defend different levels of urgency when it’s required compose sort of stay on your feet defending but also absolutely mully you go to the ground

Smash some one kind of Defending as well I’m here to tell you that I am all aboard that um but it means he’s got the potential to go against a different sort of array of forwards you know some forwards require you getting close and being physical with them some

You’re going to have to pick your moment and and try and pickpocket them or even just leave them and cut the supply off to them off the ball he’s got a level of physicality to go with the aggression where he’s looking to regain possession quite quickly but he’s not rash with it

Um and I think he’s got quite clever anticipation and positioning he’s got this ability to sort of anticipate passes you see him kind of getting a ton of interceptions um his recovery runs are really good as well and that sort of enables him to defend big spaces um to a

Very high standard and he’s quick um which means he can get into those sort of wide channels something Rio was really good at um allowing us to attack go One V one in the back line and he’ll cover Center and right uh not a drama for him and you know it’s something that

If you’re going to be a top Defender at a top club you’re going to be asked to play One V one in the halfway line and you’re going to be asked to to deal with a lot of ball in behind as that’s the way it works uh defensive wise um in 1 V

One situations for somebody so young he’s got pretty good decision making he seems to refrain from diving in doesn’t go loose with his challenges um particularly in the defensive third in an around the penalty area which I like he not going to give you loads of penalties away he’s got the discipline

It seems not to rush to the ground um and also a bit of maturity about the way he plays a trait often associated with the more experienced Defenders and I like players that seem to play with a level of maturity above their years it’s usually a good sign they’ve got good

Things in their career hence um now he’s obviously a Central Center half uh but he’s already mastered the art of sucking in the opposition to press him as well and he will roll out into the channel a little bit um and he can seem to manipulate those around him and exploit

Gaps around the opposition’s defensive structure tells me that he’s got the confidence but also the technical ability um but also game intelligence to understand moving an opposition around on a pitch which you don’t really see 18y olds doing too much and again that’s why I say there’s a level of maturity to

Him where you go all right I’m paying attention now there are areas for development as there is with every 18yearold footballer I think one area for his development probably would be his weak foot usage he does go to his right foot a lot and he does still use

His left foot but not often enough where it’s going to be uh um an issue for people trying to take the ball off him he is composed and he does show competence in the Central Area receiving the ball nicely and both sides never really looks you know phased similar to Mayu in

That sense uh and the adaptability I think suggests you can probably excel in a possession based side positioning him as a real good Prospect for clubs that want you know someone that would be considered some someone that themselves is going to think of themselves as a top Center half

Uh I think he’s got that that 25 mil release clause and supposed 60 mil asking price that he’s got no surprise that he’s going to be um getting interest from a lot of the clubs around Europe that that is so cheap I mean you couldn’t go to the championship

And get a player for that sort of cash so for someone that’s going to be you know potentially world class this is an absolute steal um and seems like he’s going to continue making strides uh at bcka even if he’s left there on loan I don’t think it necessarily be a bad

Thing then maybe some settling in if United were to bring him but I think there’s a lot of reasons why United should take a punt take a gamble on this kid I wouldn’t buy him with the intention of him starting alongside Martinez next season I would buy him

With the intention that he is third choice Center R for a number of years whether that’s two or three and maybe even loan him back to bcka for a year and just know that he’s a Manchester United player in the future because he’s going to be an international right a

Regular International which means that you’re probably not going to lose if you snap him up now for 16 million call it 20 split the difference on his release fee call it 20 mil you’re getting 20 mil for him right so there’s no Financial Risk as long as you’ve got the the breathing

Room in ffp to be able to do something with it at a later date I don’t see there’s any risk I think this is a kid that is destined to end up at a top top European Club why not make it Manchester United um it could end up as an absolute

Steal or you can wait till he goes Benfica and it’s going to be 80 million your call let me know in the comments how you feel see you in the next one lers Hey thank you for watching the video if you are new around these parts then don’t forget to subscribe my channel is proudly supported by my community on patreon if you’d like to get a little bit of extra content a Discord group meetups five aside games weekly podcast

  1. These are the kinda players we should be targeting & signing. I f we signed this lad i can then see us loaning him to Nice to further develop his career before joining us properly.

  2. Need a rotation/special player for 25games a season and that guy is Teun Koopmeiners!!

  3. I’d say go get him immediately- let him finish season in Argentina – give him a 4-5yr plan – the first 2 yrs working at NICE with us taking Todibo next summer

  4. Love the in depth analysis on a player, that has played two games….in South America….come on now, where are you coming up with such bollucks

  5. I'm encouraged by us looking at Anselmino. He could be an absolute steal at the current asking price. I agree that signing a player and loaning them back to their parent clubs is an underrated move.

Snap him up before he goes to Copa America, blows up, and starts a bidding war.

  6. Centre backs: Sell Maguire, Lindelof, get Varane on lower wages. Sign Todibo, Branthwaite, and Anselmino. Loan Anselmino to Nice for 1-2 seasons. We'd be left with a central defence of Varane, Martinez, Todibo, Branthwaite, Evans, Kambwala, and Anselmino on loan. If we get our act together, it's not totally unachievable. Absolutely bulletproof at the back.

  7. I'm all for this kid. But 1st, we need to sell off the deadwood. I think United should employ Ste Howson as the new Scouting Director. UTFR UTFP

  8. Sign him leave him at boca for another year. Bring him to Europe and loan him for 2 seasons to Nice then systematicly bring him into the united sqaud

  9. Wouldn't surprise me if in the next couple of weeks we hear that Brighton or BVB or Benfica have signed him up! Sluggish FC

  10. looking into what Jim stated in a recent interview, going for 18 year olds does fit the model. he would be able to play for the under21s for a year or two so he could get used to the climate and way of life in england, then gain himself a loan to get experience playing regularly against grown men

being realistic though – unless united match the release clause – boca won't sell without a sell-on clause – and united aren't known for big money outgoings

  11. Last line is so true. Enzo fernandez was available from river plate for 15m and no big club bid all summer, then benefica ended up getting him. Fast forward 4 months and he became a British transfer record fee. Can't let history repeat itself by missing out on him

  12. Unless he has a sudden growth spurt I don't see him playing alongside Martinez.
I know the world is obsessed with abstract stat blocks, EA Sports style Traits, and fucking Percentiles, but unless we've got some really big midfielders those two would be a liability at set pieces.
Great… one v one one on the halfway line… woohoo… what about when the opposition send up their 6' 2" and 6' 3" Centre backs for the inevitable corner or free kick?
The average hieght of an EPL Centre Back is 6' 2"… (That's Jonny Evans' height!) Martinez is 5' 9".
Don't get me wrong… Martinez is a great player, but his lack of height does create a problem at set pieces that the manager NEEDS to address and compensate for somewhere else in the team. Preferably his partner in the key position. Varane at 6' 3" offers that, even though he's not got the greatest leap on him his experience and positioning are key.
And 6' 1" isn't a short arse by any means… but passing with both feet won't make up for us having a chronic lack of CRITICAL height if neither McTominay or Maguire are playing.
I keep going back to the start of the season with the Forest game, and how easily they scored from two corners, one of them being a United corner… Aside from Martial for Hojlund and Dalot for Shaw, that was allegedly our "Best Team". Where was the height? Why were we beaten so easily at those corners?
Where IS that "Critical" Height in United's best 11? And don't say "Hojlund is 6' 3"…" because he hasn't got a defensive bone in his body outside of the press, and shouldn't be required to be the defensive focus at corners against us. And with the execption of Hojlund, not one of our "Best 11" outfield players who play ahead of Casemiro are even 6'. (AWB and Dalot are both bang on 6'.) If Casemiro goes and we switch to Mainoo, Mount, Fernandes in the central 3 in midfield we might as well change the team to Munchkin United FC.

If next season we go into games with a 5' 9" and 6' 1" pair at CB with no Critical Height in midfield every bottom half team will play their tallest CM and CBs and niggle round our third till Bruno, Rashford, Antony or (if he;s still here ) Casemiro inevitably give them a free kick, and hope to get a few corners.
Ten Hag's plan B seems to have become, "Ignore the middle third, attack high with a deep defence, allow the opposition to break but try to force them wide and pack the defence against the cross.. It's what worked against Liverpool. But it needs tall defenders to work.
Every fucking manager we face will sit there "Ooh… they've got a talented kid who can pass with both feet, he has a "Tenacity" score in the dark green, and his percentiles are great for passing with the outside of his foot on a Sunday in a month with a "Y" in it… but there's no critical height down their spine…hmmm… here's an idea!"
