[Applause] what’s going on Port fans welcome back to another video on the channel and today we’re going to preview round three port out versus Melbourne it is a top four Clash at the Adelaide over this Saturday night it’s going to be absolutely huge and I’m very much

Looking forward to it a massive game of footy and it’s going to be electric with the atmosphere and good night for footy very good weather apparently as well so I’m very much keing to see how the boys play against an outfit that has been well you know they’ve been um they’ve

Been good Melbourne so we’ll see how it all pans out lot to take in a little bit of of an earlier preview this week cuz I got stuff coming out this week that’s going to be uh really really good to watch so make sure you uh stick around

Make sure you subscribe to the channel cuz a lot more is to come for this week and throughout the year as well um and I’m very much very appreciative of the support too so let’s get straight into it round three preview against Melbourne top four Clash at the LA o Saturday

Night we’ve been here before last year’s game against the D was absolutely electric we won by a couple of points and just one of the great games I hoodie I’ve attended and I think it was win seven of our streak if I’m correct so very much looking forward to this week

Um a lot of things to play out a lot of things with selection to come and a lot of things from the demon side of thing as well to to have a look out and I guess looking at last week’s results P got the job done against Richmond at the

MCG by 30 points and um the D also won at the MCG beting um beating Hawthorne by 55 points and well it probably arguably one of the wor worse of games of football this year not going to lie the D definitely Flex their muscles um

And and you know they’re a team to watch that’s for sure they’ve got a couple of components in their side that are um definitely showcasing their characteristics and obviously Clayton Oliver is looking really really good Peta is dominating as per usual FR kicked five goals last week as well this

Smalls and their medium forwards are the ones to worry about the most um Coy picket Kyle Chandler um and also biley FR of the ones they kicked um 10 of their 13 goals last week I’m pretty sure so uh the ones to watch and definitely don’t have the big key forwards that um

You know we we’ll be worried about necessarily so you got to look at it um like that you know we’ve got r g Brendon Zer thater and um and also aah aah so three big TOS in in a side where they got not much to play with they got

Van royan they’ve got Ben Brown um I think McDonald can go down forward as well if if they do decide to do that switch they won’t have Steven may this week the de uh with um a few injuries with his ribs and his back and everything like that that got hurt last

Week ja L will play so um it’ll be interesting to see how they match up against our three big key forwards with Finn L and Dixon and Marshall as well Smalls with dbj and rioli and I wonder if Jed mckinty comes back in with his

Concussion I think he might be a sub by my guess as such and you know I think um looking at that their their team our team matches up really well Midfield versus Midfield is going to be great with Peta and Oliver and you know um

Yeah Ed langon on the wing and I’m just forgetting names I do apologize for that but uh and obviously Jack vanney as well come up against Rosie Butters um I wonder if horn Francis comes back in this week you know his hamstring awareness does concern me a little bit

And he may miss another week considering there is a six- day turnaround again the week after um for gather round against essendon so yeah a lot of interesting things to happen at selection I don’t think F sevens did enough I don’t think bergo did enough and they were both um

You know one was a s one um both were on the field at the time playing so and Williams was a sub so I think there’s three candidates to definitely chop and change around with I wouldn’t make too much of an opposition change anyway they are obviously Ruckman against gone so

Solo can take that with with Finn L do we bring in Jordan sweet uh to combat that the 2V1 Ruckman is another thing to go off of but you know I I don’t like messing with the team Dynamic at the moment and it’s so early in the year

Where you don’t really want to play um play footy to match the opposition you want to play your own game your own style and I think Port ad are more than capable of doing that um you know with without hassling Max G obviously they match up really well against us last

Year we did uh L set against gone and um and Grundy and it work the treat I thought um so I I don’t think we need to go the double up rman um at all I think L did a great job but this year solo

Will do it fin can chop in Dixon um can rock predominantly down in the four half and yeah I think we got that big key match up right I think we match up really well against the D and I I I do like that their scoring capabilities

This year have really taken off the D they’ve had the game last week their defensive units really really strong they’ve kept the the dogs to um you only 60 odd points they kept the the Hawks to less than six goals the swans even when they bet them only kicked 10 11 12 goals

So uh you know they have that that defense capability and um without Steven may I think our attacking half is going to be a lot more direct I think we can get M one-on-one matchups well I think lever takes Marshall um and then it’s the other two you know Dixon who who

Take is it big McDonald that takes Dixon um then you’ve got Finn L who can roam about you know our our forward movements are a lot better uh and I said this in my review of the Richmond game we’re able to lower our eyes and hit Targets

On the lead it was noticeable against the Eagles it was very noticeable in the second half against the Tigers so the way we’re able to combat that and and know to pick our moments going long and deep or short and wide or direct through the corridor our transition has been

Fantastic we’ve done that multiple times on multiple occasions uh against the both sides so far and I’m really enjoying that aspect clearance work still needs a bit of um I guess everyone being on the same page because I think Soo is getting a lot of the Taps and I

Think they figured out that more last week in the second half Ole win 10 clearances in the game and had 26 touches and was able to get the ball out and get moving we need a bit more of that from olle and his contested work around the ground was um a lot more

Sound so I think he’s going to have to bring that this week and he would be my pick for Wonder watch in terms of being a best on ground motive is Ole wies taking on the big midfielders and feeding it out to the Rosie the butters

Um and the bus on the wing as well Bergman looked really nice last week at times and getting up forward on that Wing roll don’t think but uh I think bike did it on occasions too he looks to be Bo seems to be I guess both both wingmen are playing that transition they

Come up to the half back flank and then basically out split lining it down each side B seems to be a little bit more hanging around the contest around the back and Bergman is that switch play Get It direct can see him deep inside 50 at

Both ends and B sort of that getaway um chip out Target and you know directing it down the line so you can see what both wingmen are trying to achieve and I do like that I think that really FS those roles well and playing that role um specifically Bo 15 20 touches is

Really good Bergman doing the same um but bergman’s a lot more of that penetrating player with Boke is that ground ball work get him out get it that short kick or that run down and um creat a Target so I really like how Wing set up there and that will combat you know

What Melbourne have and I as mentioned him before langdon’s that run on up and down he gets that the switch kick coming out of defense and port and melbour play that similar style that switch kick get it going and and launch so I think it be

A battle of the corridor really and I’ve spoken many of times about how Port used the corridor and they use the edge of the squares and they come inside direct it’s almost like a a diamond how they play I’m covering up the screen I don’t

Know why but it’s like yeah so you come you kick out you come out each side and then it’s basically straight lining um the the center square and and pushing it through so both teams do that really well um we we’ll just see how it all pans out

Though won’t we selection be interesting um and yeah hopefully we just get the win 3-0 going into gather round enticing I like it so selection this week um if if War Francis comes back in I think um he’ll come straight back in mcy I think might come in as

Well Evans Berg and Williams probably the ones to drop out um in my opinion um I’m not sure if we bring in a George yardis or anything like that it’s hard to tell at this stage I don’t want to make too many changes to the team I

Think the structure is pretty sound so horn Francis if fit MC if fit um both come back in for me and just make those changes there MC probably the sub if I’m honest and maybe you keep um bergo in there as a rotation for the wing so uh

We’ll see how it pans out though my tip this week is Port adelay by 15 points uh I think we’ll be too strong just up forward that’s my honest opinion um winning score we’ve kicked two winning scores so far without stepen May probably be the difference I think Port

Fans let me know in the comments below your thoughts about this week’s game it’s Todd Marshall’s 100th game of footy so we go from one big milestone to not so big but still Todd Marshall an incredible journey um and the way he’s performing at the moment he’s the big he’s the

Number one forward for us he is the big guy um obviously Dixon and fin L supporting him but Marshall the journey is had losing both parents injury has being able to become one of the best kicks in the game hopefully he continues but you know I’m just really proud of

How he’s come so far from the hardest of Journeys um and he’s gotten so much support and shown that Faith back into the club as well with signing a contract too so Todd Marshall congratulations and hopefully we get the job done for him thank you so much for watching Port

Fans make sure you subscribe to the channel if you’re new for plenty more port and AFL content to come your way and everyone else that maybe not be a port fan jump on board as well check out the glass table check out peirs on a pod

And we’ll see you at the fo thank you so much for watching my name is Anthony and as always Can’t

  1. Hopeful, but worried. Inaccuracy and lack of drive might not get us through this one, but let's give the boys a good rile up at home. This will determine if we are contenders this year for now.

    Carn the pear🍐

  2. Ivan vs. Max, story of the weekend for me. I'd like to see them throw Sweet in there too, but I doubt it will happen. We have to be better than our first two games to win this one, but it's doable. Hopefully things start looking like they're clicking together smoother soon. Looking forward to the game, looking forward to the review!

  3. I heard from a good source they are bringing in Sweet and Visante and are going to use Dixon as centre so Soldo , Dixon, Sweet and Visante will all be in the centre and Butters, Rozee and Wines will be permament forwards. The backs just have to lob it high to the centre and one of those 4 will mark it. McEntee to come back in as full back to give speed out the back…….. Geez i am a master coach…

  4. 13 goals in a half last week, largest score accumulated for port since 2016 at MCG. The game against west coast, was 40 scoring shots most since 2017. The formula is working for supply going Forward. May missing helps but they have swingman to help down back against our 3 talls. We were undermanned last time Dixon and Marshall both out last time. So we’re better for it I back our game plan in big time 💪🏽

  5. i'll be hanging out with shaun dux from melbourne fan tv so i wonder if we will be good mates by the end of the night

  6. Bergman on Picket, Williams on Fritsch,l Jones on Langdon, best of luck skills and abilities MEN,it's a huge test but we definitely have WHAT IT TAKES to get the win and to bank another valuable 4 points

  7. Be my first live port game for 3 years looking forward to the hit out. Hopefully can improve on kicking accuracy

  8. Not sure the mighty power have the class to match the demands this Saturday. I agree that the PA forwards will be a great advantage—especially with no Steven May. But the PA midfield just isn't as good or classy. If Melbourne's forward line clicks, then it's goodnight Power. Of course, there's the home ground advantage. But I think Power will really miss the brilliant Sam Powell Pepper. That will probably cancel with missing May. So, it's up to the mids and wings. The Dees new kids are very good. All right. Good luck to both teams. Hopefully no concussions, no reports and no heart attacks in the crowd.
