Was kind of meant to be a sort of wink and Nod alignment Aid at the time but the bigger portion of the sale was that this would allow you to have a little bit wider of a profile a little bit sturdier of a base it would allow your
Foot to lay flat instead of kind of scrunched up in the shoe and with more ground contact and the better ability to kind of rotate and use your entire foot you’d be able to hit the ball farther and over the course of time they conducted research that bears out their
Point and they’ve been able to prove that this kind of stability allows you to hit the ball farther plain and simple it’s that easy stability matters and being able to use the full force of the ground be able to use the full force of your swing to transfer weight and get to
The front and then be able to get through impact it it’s it’s all right here in the data it’s all right in this shoe so the V is kind of the work of four years worth of research and development and trying to create an even better shoe than they’ve already created

Golf so you know I’m someone who swings a little bit harder I I Like to Swing pretty hard when I play golf I can still get up in the 112 to 115 mph swing speed range even though I’m a bigger guy I’m almost 41 years old

To see in a lot of square shoes moving forward is this n RG foam it’s a new foam it’s a new foam so it makes the shoe a little bit lighter still a stable but it’s a little bit lighter and and folks have said you know I’d like a
Little bit of a lighter version of squares but now they’re getting it across the model base which is great it’s also a waterproof shoe so you got a waterproof nice upper leather here you’ve got the tongue here which kind of integrates very nicely into the rest of
The shoe we’re going to talk about that in a minute makes the whole package waterproof so you can wear these in any conditions and be extreme confident what’s really different about this shoe compared to other squares models is kind of what you’re seeing here on the side and it’s an obvious
Call out right it’s kind of meant to look that way and there are three color ways so you can have can have this one with the white and blue you have white and black and then black and white so there’s three versions of this but this
Stuff on the side which is kind of meant to be inspired by the concept of graphine which is meant to be really lightweight but extremely stable this is a bracing for the shoe effectively so it makes a little bit firmer here on the side so kind of like if you seeing a
Tour 360 from adios you know they’ve got that wrap on the Sid seeing a lot of shoes now more wrap in the midfoot because you want to keep the foot in place you want to prevent kind of pronation and moving over the edge of the shoe which is that’s what the
Squares base does but you also want to keep the foot from moving within the shoe that’s really important too because if you’re moving within the shoe you’re still losing some of the benefits of stability even if they provide it on the outside of the shoe so this is meant to
Kind of stiffen up the sides along with the heel stabilizer here in the back that’s long been a part of square shoes and the idea is to keep your foot locked in place so that when you’re swinging it doesn’t move from side to side in the
Shoe and you still get the stability on the outside of the shoe the other thing they have here is a new system for their laces lace lock system so this is meant to again pull things together and keep it down this is also a stiffer shoe this
Leather is a little bit stiffer than some of their other models so the idea is again get yourself locked in place keep yourself locked in place and to be able to swing pretty hard at the golf ball my experience again I’ve worn these a whole lot of time since I’ve had these
I’ve had these for about a month now and I’ve probably worn them out you know 10 times already I went on a golf trip with them and they were fantastic what I really like about these compared to the square shoes I’ve worn in the past is
They are stiffer I do feel like I am more locked into position not only with the stay put laces but the lace lock system and a stiffer upper and some people like that in their shoes some people like a stiff rer and are willing to make that that give off that tradeoff
In terms of maybe some comfort and I’m not saying these are uncomfortable by any stretch but in terms of flexibility of the shoe they don’t feel as much like a sneaker like a lot of shoes these days a lot of golf shoes are meant to kind of
Feel a little bit more like sneakers squares have never been about that and these are almost kind of leaning into that concept a little bit more again very comfortable it’s a great shoe I really enjoy wearing them but they are a little bit stiffer and so my foot
Doesn’t move as much around in the swing and I could could feel it from the second I put him on for the first time I texted Bob the second I got like I get what you’re telling me now and that is really just a confidence builder for me
When I’m standing over the golf ball going I’m going to swing as hard as I can at this bad boy I know I’m not going to slip I know I’m going to be able to actually use my energy transfer to the best of my ability and get the most out
Of each shot now squares is May claims over the years that if you’re TR you know transitioning to a square shoe from another shoe more more stable shoe and squares you’re going to gain distance and that is true you’re going to gain distance from these shoes and you’re
Going to gain distance wearing spikes so even if for whatever reason you walk away from this review not interested in squares but you are interested in a different brand of shoes please please do me a favor get spiked shoes I know there’s a versatility to spike less
Shoes the ones with Nubs and they’re wonderful for certain circumstances but if you’re trying to play golf at your absolute best ability you need spiked shoes bottom line end of story so I would highly encourage you to get spiked shoes in a minimum I would also highly
Encourage you to get the squares because I love what they bring to the table uh they’ve got the sock line or the kind of liner here it’s extremely comfortable it’s very well padded you know even more padded than I’ve seen some other uh shoe manufacturers make it makes it super
Easy to just kind of walk all day in them there’s a very nice kind of cup in here that stabilizes it you’ll notice that this is not the standard insole for these shoes Sho I actually wear a brand called Blue MAA and they make it with recycled materials but the most
Important thing is this is a non-slick Surface so you actually are able to be more stable and more locked in With These Guys these insoles than any insoles I’ve ever used so that just a little shout out to them as well CU they’re great and then you’ve got the
Pull tab here in the back make it easy to take on and take off again stay put laces stay great I never have to retie these things although I double knot my laces and the shoe just looks good I I think there have probably been some conversations over the years about
People whether they want to wear squares and they maybe haven’t liked certain facets of the aesthetic and I think squares has recognized that their customer base wants a more traditional looking shoe and this isn’t exactly totally traditional I mean you’ve got this material here on the side again kind of
Like what you would see in a hyperflex shoe on a FootJoy people love those and you should love these for that reason they provide that additional stability in an already stable shoe so that’s a huge benefit but if you want to look at something a little bit more traditional
You’ve got the the pro model you’ve got the Speed 2 so you’ve got models from squares that look a little bit more traditional and they frankly are a little bit more comfortable in terms of the the upper not being quite as stiff so if you’re not worried about trying to
Swing out your shoes or swing as hard as you can maybe this isn’t the model for you but if you’re someone who wants to get everything you can out of your golf swing you know very well that your feet and your legs are extremely important
