Peter malady exercised correctly his right to a drop from a sprinkler head and the area in which he took his relief plus one Club length gets him from nasty thick rough Behind the Green to Fringe of the putting surface my big thing here if you do want to get relief from

Standing on a sprinkler head fine I don’t care my thing has always been I don’t like it when guys can get from one cut to another cut if you if in the rough you should have to stay in the rough and if you can’t find proper

Relief there then you have to stand on a sprinkler headit

  1. Agree 100% you should have to play out of the condition of your ball was in its prior lie. But then again USGA has 1,000 rules under 500 rules and they can either save a player or penalize them

  2. And you are who? When it comes to golf or anything?
So if rules are broken by tiniest margin , you can be DQd by someone calling it in.
But you don’t want him using full extent of rules. Gotcha. Clown

  3. Agree. If you hit it in the rough then you should relief in same thing. But those rules on the books can either hurt or help a player. So why not use it to help. ?!?! If the powers that be don’t like that then change it. Otherwise be quiet. Because I’m sure you would take the same drop this player took. And if you say no then you’re lying to yourself.

  4. I like the rule, golf is and always will be a game of luck. Yes there’s skill involved, but at the end of the day we have all played rounds where we got a better or a worse score than we deserved based off lucky bounces and unlucky bounces

  5. You guys sound like you play bad league golf rules.
NO CLOSER TO THE PIN… means exactly that.
Are you wanting to start slowing things down because guys want to debate what cut your in? Just get better!
Which one of you called in on Dustin Johnson back in the day?

  6. Maybe you should go find some instances where the rules HURT the player instead of helping? Like the fairway divot , or a twig under my ball and i cant move the twig or ball will move?
He used the rules to his advantage , good on him. 👍

  7. Obviously he didn’t break the rules but the rules should state you can’t improve your lie while taking relief. You should have to stay in the same cut of grass just away from the obstruction.
