Stop wasting so much money on golf balls golf balls have become increasingly expensive as have most Goods across the United States and throughout the world but it doesn’t have to be that way hey everybody I’m George connley with scratch golf tips and today we’re breaking down some of the economics

Behind golf balls and some advice that I have for you to save money while not inhibiting your play now right off the bat I want to disclose that I’m going to be speaking about a few different golf Brands a few different golf balls I am

Not paid by any of them I am not sponsored or endorsed these are just my thoughts on these products now if you’ve watched this channel for a little while you’ve probably heard me speak about the importance of golf balls and I will always reiterate the importance of hitting the same golf ball and

Understanding how your golf ball affects your play should you be hitting a hard ball should you be hitting a softball I think that across the board no matter what you’re doing if you’re buying the most expensive golf ball or a budget golf ball or somewhere in the middle you

Should be hitting the same golf ball this is just going to allow you to be more conscious of what you’re doing especially around the greens if you’re going from a really hard golf ball and you hit a chip and it doesn’t really and it doesn’t Spin and it rolls out a lot

And then you hit that in the water and then you you switch over to a really soft golf ball your next Chip is going to spin a lot more so it’s just going to complicate things so let’s play the same golf ball just to give ourselves a

Little Edge and consistency in our game because whatever we can control out of our swing in terms of consistency we want to be controlling that that being said right now the most expensive golf balls from the big three companies so I’m referring to Titleist tailor and

Callaway so that would be the prov1 the Chrome tour and the tp5 golf ball right now as of recording this video all of those golf balls are retailing for $55 Bridgestone also has a tour quality product which I believe is selling at $50 right now but across the board those

Four are the most popular golf balls in golf right now all $50 to $55 for a dozen golf balls I’ll get my calculator out and 55 / 12 is $458 for every golf ball you’re hitting so if you go through a round and you hit

Two balls in the water and you lose a golf ball in the rough of the trees and you scuff one up that’s four golf balls so we’re going to multiply that by four and you’re spending $18 on golf balls alone with the price of tea times and the price of golf clubs

Accessories clothes all that we don’t want to be spending $8 extra dollars just on golf balls alone and I know that you’re not going to lose four golf balls every round I that that’s certainly a number that’s out there but personally I know that in my own game I don’t lose a

Ton of golf balls setting in the water or the trees but if you’re hitting golf balls out of bunkers if your golf ball hits off of a tree if it hits a cart path the way that golf balls are made today is they’re could to have big scufs

In them and if there’s scufs in your golf balls you do not want to be playing those golf balls so when when you go through golf balls it might not because you’re necessarily losing them they’re just going through wear and tear I know that with the current ball that I play I

Even if I have it for 18 holes the golf ball is usually just a little bit beat up so I go through about one ball around just on how beat up the golf balls get so if you want to go ahead and spend the $55 on a premium quality ball you

Absolutely can if you’re a plus two handicap and you swear by the prov1 or the AVX from Titleist that’s fine just understand that there are better budget options out there me personally I’ve been playing the Bridgestone E6 for probably 3 or 4 years and right now I

Can get those at Target I can get them at Dicks for $25 more than half of the Titleist provie one or the Callaway Chrome tour it’s a really great deal there have also been a few budget friendly golf ball companies that have kind of come up in

The past you know 5 to 10 years I know that Vice golf has a lot of you know they have a lot of variance in what they offer I think that their Pro it’s called the Vice Pro golf ball their highest end golf ball is $32 $33 and they have some

Lower-end ones in the 20s which are always great deals cut golf is another company that has a plethora of golf balls in that $20 range and Callaway actually has a golf ball called the warbird and I think that it sells for $1 199.99 in most places that you can find

It obviously that price tag is for a reason these golf balls are not made the same way as the premium golf balls but if you don’t want to be spending $55 on a golf ball then going down to 25 and playing a slightly different ball it’s

Going to be a little bit lower quality but just understand that you’re saving that much money if you’re playing a lot of golf I buy a dozen golf balls I feel like every couple of weeks every couple you know every month or two it’s a lot

Of money and if I were to I’ve been spending $25 on my E6 golf balls for years I would have to spend double the amount of money I spent on golf balls in the past couple years if I was playing the Bridgestone Tour ball if I was playing the the triple track from

Callaway again I want to reiterate that it’s important to understand the type of ball you’re hitting I know that the Bridgestone E6 is not it’s not a crazy soft ball I like a little bit of a harder golf ball just so that I don’t

Have a ton of spin off the tea but there are softer ball options that if you want a budget friendly softball you can go to one of those companies like Vice or cut and just play around with it and see what you like but once you find what you

Like dial it in and be very consistently hitting that golf ball just so you have that understanding and familiarity of the ball now with all of that being said let’s talk about where you’re purchasing your golf balls from I know that for a lot of golfers they’ll just rifle around

Their bag and if they can’t find any balls to play their round they’ll walk over to the pro shop and purchase some golf balls in the Pro Shop what I will say from personal experience and from a little bit of research that I’ve done those Golf Pro Shops especially private

Clubs will notably mark up their golf balls so the price that you’re getting inside of a pro shop you’re kind of paying for convenience which is pretty silly because you can just go to Target or Walmart or dick right before and you you can get the same quality same exact

Golfball for just a little bit less expensive and two other things that I want to note on how you can save money when getting golf BS one is if you find a good store near you that has a Rewards program go there I know that personally

And again this is not endorsed I use Dick Sporting Goods and they have a reward program so I always buy my golf balls my Bridgestone e6s at Dicks and then I get points I feel like every couple months I just get $10 off $20 off my orders which is great especially if

You’re buying a lot of golf balls in advance and another way you can save money and a lot of private clubs do this if you have a membership if you have access to public clubs some of them do this uh it’s especially popular in the northern uh states around this time of

Year February March April is they’ll do bulk golf ball orderings and they’ll give you really great deals on it so I’ve heard of people who get eight dozen golf balls for the price of six or you know 10 dozen golf balls for the price of six you can just buy in bulk and

Basically you’ll have that stash for as long as you need it with golf balls there’s no problem if you have the money just buy a bunch of them because you’re going to get through them eventually right if you have any more thoughts or tips on how to save on golf balls or

What golf ball you found yourself hitting and if you think that it’s worth the price you’re paying for it I’d love to hear your thoughts on this in the comment section down below as always in these types of videos I’m not telling you how to spend your money I think your

Money is your own I’m totally fine with that I’m just giving you the different options and the different methods that a lot of people go about saving money or spending money there are plenty of things in golf that I think you should be getting very high quality in like

Clothes I’m never going to say get the the $20 discount rack I prefer to wear nicer well-fitting comfortable clothing on the golf course that’s just me but however you want to spend your money with your golf accessories do it I just want to give you the information to make

Informed decisions as always thank you all very much for watching play well and take care

  1. I play the yellow Kirkland ball which I pick up for $17 a dozen. I hear they are too spinny for some, but they work great for my game. I play to a 12 and haven't found these balls cause any issues that affect my scores.
