King of ATX DG!? Roy G F9

One last round through my current crown holding, favorite course in Austin. I fear when I return from this years tour there may be a new king in town course wise… will Sprinkle Valley overtake the old king, or will he reign supreme!?

Thanks for watching and make sure to drop a like and subscribe!
Cheers Y’all

Ever since I’ve been playing disc golf here in Austin I’ve been blessed to have rigi Guerrero here as an Elite Training ground for myself teaching me how to shape Fair way drivers how to play in the woods and how to control my power and control the end of the flight it has

Been undisputably the best course in Austin since I’ve been playing disc golf and now there’s a new course in town sprinkle Valley that you probably heard of that’s knocking on the door of the current King here Roy G trying to be the best course in Austin I figure I should

Play Roy G right now before I head out the tour and don’t get to see it again till the off season while it still holds that Crown because I fig that next time I come back sprinkle Valley will hold the crown I don’t feig that actually

Because I think it’s great to have a variety of top-notch courses in the area but you know Roy G is always going to hold a special place in my heart so let’s play Roy G Guerrero Colorado River Park Austin Texas beautiful day you just so happened to find yourself here on the Conor

O’Reilly YouTube channel I am he Conor O’Reilly flam for team Lone Star discs chump chalk bags helps me get the grip I need on the course gorilla disc golf helps me look sharp out there OTB discs make sure that I have only the best in my hands and discology keeps my shoulders

Nice and comfy as I carry all the disc that I want on the course and more you know how I like to do it we’re doing the kind of quick warmup which means I got to throw at least two backhands two forehands off the tea so let’s go ahead

And rip the two pennies out on the back hands didn’t hit the Gap it’s all right so we’re warming up I’m like a fine-tuned computer just takes a little bit to calibrate some time sometimes you got to hit the restart button but once you do that you know things are good to

Go big forehand guy today maybe grass is looking luscious out here at Roy Guero let’s get to it thrown enough Shanks already got them all out the way we’re going to play the long te’s out here today because that’s what I like to do when I’m at RI Guerrero we’re starting

Off with the par 4 this one’s almost 600 feet tucked up to the right onto a beautiful Rocky green or I guess it’s surrounded by rocks kind of up on a little Plateau we’ve obviously got this initial Gap and then we have that three-headed tree out there in the middle that you

Got to pick a side if you play straight through past it you have some good Lanes into the basket you can also kind of try to bite off to the right take some distance out the lanes maybe are a little bit skinnier on the right I’m going to play Hiser flip try

To get just to the right of that tree maybe get a bonus Fade Out prototype Wrangler out of the hand key lime pie what a beauty oh yeah dead straight little bit of flip up that should be a good Landing zone for those of you who’ve played here

At Roy G especially for my locals you’ll know that when the grass is tall in the springtime before they do that first cut the course plays a little bit tougher because you don’t get the ground play and it makes those low ceilings come into play even more throughout the

Course good line here off the te a little bit short got 300 10 ft in I’m thinking forehand or backhand but I think that’s a good opportunity to showcase my Tour series Penny putter in the founders plastic just play a baby turning shot really just kind of try to

Go dead straight onto the green I don’t need to fall for the trick of having to really finish it right to park the basket just give myself an opportunity oh touch a Heiser out of the hand stands up the straight touches down on top of the plateau up there but it skittered off

The back I didn’t quite have the distance control I needed but I chose a good disc and I have an opportunity inside the circle that’s all you can ask for do that 18 times you’ll probably shoot pretty good this is also that time of year where the silk worms are just

Getting in your face at all times while you’re playing out here so you know going be a little bit extra of that all right maybe D2 Penny putter would have helped me get a little bit more of that last second turn out of that flight and maybe able to grab the

Ground a little bit better cuz I did skitter off here to Circle two pretty low ceiling good thing I went to put League last night how at Live Oak Brewing see if I can recreate some of that a little falling knil putt here it’s about the only option I really have

Oh I tried y’all I tried awesome starting hole here tight enough to make you think off the tea but it gives you options and you can definitely hit it as hard as you want or play placement shot the te kind of a skinny approach and you got

To land it up top have good Pace control I like it it’s a great starter HTO is dead straight you got that big tree trunk in the middle that you got to kind of split left or right I’m choosing backand so you know that means I’m going

On the right side of it Texas Ranger standup Hiser or I’m missing on the left side but throwing a good line choosing the right disc giving myself another opportunity looks like another shallow se2 look we’ll take it looks like actually I was able to find myself in circle one thanks

To this bit of a bowl that we have behind this green allowing you allowing you to really commit off the tea so I’m going to take my little disc flip slide up so I can have at least my front foot on the flat ground since I have this up

Slope right here behind me help make me a little more comfortable oh I wanted it a little too bad huh gu so guess so yall par par start whole three on the t- sign whole four in our hearts this one is one of the most aesthetically pleasing par 3s

In the city in my opinion forcing the rightand backhand player to play a turning shot you’re going to have to have the height out of the hand here and have a gentle turn for most of the flight maybe flattening out at the end and a lot of times you’re going to have

This right to left wind that I’m dealing with right now when you’re here on the tea I’m going to go dose X because of that wind you normally I like to go midi but the dose X should stay up in the air a little bit easier and fight that Crossing

Wind oh now when you throw it that low buddy got to get it up y’all anyone here know what kind of fungus this is very interesting never seen it throw in range V1 bloby Oh Be the One you guys I thought I made it so close if you’ve been wondering between

Whether you want to try the V1 or the V2 Blue Bonnet the V1 is going to have a little bit more Flex to it but it still has a rigid outer rim so it’s not going to be floppy in your hand it’ll grip the ground a little bit better also because

Of that and I found them to be more overstable so that’s why I like throwing them for my short approaches ho four is a par four a little over 700 ft the goal off the te is to blast it out there as far as you can go finishing a little bit

To the left can be a bonus in opening up those angles into the green second shot’s likely a forehand or some kind of putter in if you execute off the tea here I’m going Alpha bayonet you got a nice Tailwind setup little bit of turn fighting out

Nicely and that’s going to be a prime time drive here on whole four I hear the birds all around me and I feel a birdie coming on right here stay tuned to find out if I’ll actually NAB my first Birdie the round or not as you can see we’re

Lined up with the biggest Gap into the green here forehand backhand are both an option I’m going to stick with the forehand as the whole does finish slightly to the right going with that wh Lord Founders horny toad flat release will do the job here assuming it has more than three feet of

Height flat release saw off oh my God Conor sometimes it takes a second to really recover from what atrocities you’ve done to yourself we got a long butt see that’s the battle I feel like I go through creating content big part of me wants to open my mouth and share insights with

You guys because I hear a lot of you guys benefit from that stuff and learn from that stuff and that’s why a lot of you guys are here watching this video um the other part of me wants to just say Connor shut up and just go play good

Golf let the rest come but I can do that come tournament time these videos are for you guys so as much as I want to shut up and just play sometimes I’m going to keep blabbering and hopefully it’s useful for you guys more often than not and when it’s not hopefully you just

Tune it out and go get yourself some more water come back and maybe I’m being more serious at that point or something thanks y’all see2 I’m going to go to that jumper there it is jumper didn’t let us down I need to dial in my jumper over the next

Week or two I think I’ve been getting into this kind of shallow C2 range and just trying to putt a regular putt but when you make that first jumper you just feel Unstoppable so I’m going make sure I warm my jumper up before I be around

At Texas States I’m going to come out and I’m going to be unstoppable I’m going to manifest it create it do it hole five is one of my favorites because it allows me to use my favorite disc golf descriptive word dichotomy this hole has dichotomy because it allows you

To play a forehand or a backhand regardless of your handedness there’s also dare I say a trotus line up the middle if you’re feeling frisky you can take but that right side’s going to offer the biggest Gap and the most ceiling to work with so I’m taking my

Midi making sure to set the Heiser and helping you guys see this super cool Beetle right here come here come here buddy check it out we got us a nice little iridescent Beetle super cool Don’t Spray me bro I’m I’m come in peace I promise get off me thank

You all right back to your reg back to your regularly scheduled programming check out this beautiful midi and watch it work oh that has the height and it got a little tickle off the branch drop drop drop drop drop drop drop drop drop another tickle off a branch okay F our

Way to Circle one we’ll take it if you’re in Texas or anywhere near I’m sure you’ve heard that the Blue Bonnets are bursting out of control this time of year I’m sure you’ve also heard that blue bonnets sell out almost as soon as they’re in stock so if you ever

See them in stock at your local retailer or on lonestar.com especially if you’re at lonar disc.com you can save using Code clover2 so pick them up quick because they’re going to be gone as soon as they got there ho six doesn’t need me to introduce it that

Much because it’s just one of those those holes that’s reputation proceeds itself it is a gorgeous hole right side left side options beautiful grassy Fairway lined by trees the whole way I’m taking left side slowly turning shot with my Wrangler little bit of turn flatten out

Out kind of a bit of a tame t- shot there I didn’t try to do too much gave myself a long birdie look maybe par at worst there AR a ton of holes in Austin where where advantageous rollers can be played but whole seven out here at Roy

Seems to be one of those a little over 400 into the green I’m going to play tumble weed down this left side try to land it on a little bit of cut let it stand rather quickly oh just too wide kick left onto the old Service

Road been there a time or three all right over here on the left not out of the woods yet but we do have an opportunity there I go spiking Flex chupacabra since it’s chup robber week show you guys one of the things this disc does so well fighting out of turn vertical

Turn gets back to flat and skips up to the basket I mean use code chupacabra save 30% on two of any Fairway drivers if you’re over on lonar disc.com get yourself one of those tools because it will help you in situations that you never knew you needed

It over here I’m over here talking about car at worst off the te now I choose to throw a roller into the green and once you throw a roller whatever at worst is kind of off the table because you’re taking a risk but sometimes it can be worth the reward

Good shot to learn slow but steady start so far and honestly that’s if I could play slow but steady nine out of 10 rounds and then maybe get hot one out of 10 Rounds I’d be pretty happy I think we all get a little drunk off looking to

Play our best on every single shot instead of just maintaining a level of focus and emotional control allowing the birdies to come knowing when your pride is getting in your way you just got to be like popping Nate seon slow and steady go surprise everybody slow Pok spur here on whole s

Tasty line come on skip for me gosh you guys one day I’m going to get this one just not getting the skip right blue onet into the basket slow po Spur off the tea what a beauty hole eight nearly forces you into a forehand the way that the backand really

Pinches the tightness of the hole I’m going to go on my stable warbird just try to pop it flat towards that back wall of trees stade in front all right testing the trees can I beat some trunks yeah that’ll do long look I’m happy with that here honestly tough

Hole I don’t know it feels like a weird Sunshine right now maybe it’s just been cloudy for a couple days to where I forgot what the sunshine feels like but it almost feels like that like Eclipse sun in a way I know we still got a week or two to wait

But interesting Vibes right now sometimes feels like life’s scripted or something no I missed the putt otherwise it would have been scripted for sure you know what I’m saying eight has always played as a bit of a bonus hole so anytime I have a circle two look

I feel like I kind of did my job here whole ‘s a beast of a par 4 you can see the basket down there in the shadows 672 ft but it’s going to play very long huge Drive can make this birdie attainable I’m going bayonet working it flat out of the hand

Looking for just a gentle Flex coming in tea box is a little wet from last night’s delou there’s that little bit of turn can I get a big skip though oh yeah skip back into the middle let’s go hey overcooked is legit man that’s a good one it’ll make you communicate and it’ll

It’ll create a little hot seat action it’s a fun one it’s like man I really loved that D2 horny toad shot out of my hand I caught this Last Guardian Tree see2 look cap off the front n get down oh get down down to the chopper come on get down

Again that is all she wrote for the front nine of our practice round at Roy G Guerrero maybe the last one of the Season presented by Lone Star discs discology OTB discs gorilla disc golf and chump chalk bags all the ways this support for me are in the description
