Do You Carry a 5 Wood?

I bought two 5 woods. A cheaper brand and a more recognized name brand that cost more. I kind of like them both. But one has a little edge over the other. Is it the Callaway or is it the Lazrus?!

All right I’m out here at the Santa Fe Park Municipal Golf Course like I’m always at one of these days I’ll play some other place been meaning to play Sonora and Robert Le but just have kind of boring by myself so anyway and it cost money I have to

Travel but anyway I’m out here going to test a few things I’ve got two five Woods you know it’s a popular Club loock people like to try to carry is a fivewood it’s got a little bit more Loft than than your normal 3 wood so I’m out

Here trying that I’ve got a cheaper one and then a more expensive one let see which one’s the best so we’re going to play a couple balls for off the tea and then uh see what we got yeah I’m going to go ahead and play a part three first though uh there’s

Somebody in front of me to start of the first hole so I’m just going to ahead and play that and then I’ll get them out I’ll show you which the which five woods they Are so I’m going to hit the both five Woods on this short par 4 I mean I couldn’t I don’t normally reach it with my driver so normally I would hit a driver but I used to but I’m going to hit both here and just see how they feel yeah so

Here’s the and I’ve been practicing with it in the in the um heating Bay at home so it’s got some some of the mat on there and then I’ve got this is It’s a 18 degree like it says on there but fivewood it feels kind of stout uh I put

A nice jumbo um cp2 WRA Golf Pride grip on it so it’ll be a little different but and then the other one is a cway rogue Max St and it’s a smaller head if you compare them see so it looks bigger this one looks bigger bigger footprint maybe not

I don’t know but they look to me they look a little bit bigger this one looks bigger than the other so but both of them are 18° both of them supposed to be forgiving um we’ll see what happens so I’m going to hit the Lazarus first I I

Think I say that wrong Lazarus I think it’s the way you’re supposed to not bad all right those felt pretty good both of them felt pretty good uh I could tell the Callaway just has a little bit more whipped to it maybe maybe the shaft

Is lighter I’m not sure but um I didn’t I don’t know what I know it’s regular flex but I don’t know what weight or nothing in it is in it so both light shafts but uh we’ll see how which one’s further so all right here’s the uh one I hit weely Lazarus

And some drone fish from 3 ft off the ground so I kind of play it like a scramble I’m just going to go with the best one that way I’m not hting two shots taking up anybody else’s time so I’m going to go with one out here with the with the

Rogue ah take that Almost got up up and down for birdie but uh not so I’m going to hit the Rogue first on this next one shoot another short short R4 and see what happens and then I’ll hit the Lazarus man I hit both of those really high up in the air the Lazar Lazarus has a hollow Ting sound to it and uh cway has more of a what youd normally I think what you’d hear but both of them hit pretty solid that time also so you know

I don’t know but they they uh I I uh push the uh Lazarus to the right all right so the the first ball I hit with the Callaway is right in the center and the Lazarus went way over there went right here by this tree so a lot better shot from the Calay And in this Fairway where I’m hoping one of those five Woods paid off pays off so I’m going to each one of them kind of kind of be below my feet so not a real good spot to hit from but we’ll see what happens this one first All right both of those were were pretty well struck I kind of adjusted my aim a little bit more left with the Callaway so I kind of ended up under the tree but both of my thing or playable both of them good good uh height not too high and I was able to

Get off the ground which I A lot of times I’ll top it in the in the you know especially if it’s below my feet but I was able to pull that off yeah there’s the where the cway went and where right over here where the um I don’t if you can see it

There all right so I picked up the one that I hit with the Calloway I’m going to hit the uh one I hit with a Lazarus cuz it has more open space and the better lie it’s not so Loose but one of the other clubs in my bag is a it’s a Malt B 50 degree and it’s more wedge and it is an iron I guess you could say uh it’s got like 60 Dees of bounch which I think most approach wedges are somewhere in that or 4° or

Whatever but my regular approach wedge it goes with my set it’s more like an iron it’s more like an iron so like a pitching wedge basically this is more like a regular wedge where you use it for chipping stuff like this so but a little bit longer maybe uh maybe out of

Taller roughers I don’t know but it feels pretty good and I could probably get away with this being the only wedge of my bag out here now if I go play like quicksand one of the bigger uh public courses I would probably need my other wedges uh because they have different

You know a little bit different lies so anyway but so not bad so far for the five woods but I haven’t to favor yet all right so I’m going to hit the five Woods off of this par 4 it’s a longer par 4 it’s the one that goes

Around the corner just see how I can control them see if I can get them to I know I can get them to uh slice probably but see if I can control h a controlled Cut For the cway it’s it’s just so light I’m I probably should have got a stiffer shaft I didn’t know it was going to be like that but uh it’s really light so anyway I hit it okay didn’t quite get the shape I wanted and then the Lazarus went higher in the

Air and more down the middle but that tea box is kind of is leaning where it’s above your feet so it’s a little bit you got to cut really I guess uh push it to cut it but we we do it all the time here and it’s

Fun to see the ball curve around the corner a little bit some people can do it really well that’s not me I’m not that guy all right so we hit a seven iron there I kind of topped it so that didn’t go where I wanted it’s right next to the

Green so it’s not terrible but it’s not good either all right so I’m going to play one more ho the short par for again number five and uh see how I feel about either one I like I said I think I could use either

One if I can get the ball off the ground on the par five this tickle me pink anyway and I tickle pink I don’t know however that goes all right going to hit this Lazarus Lazarus gr I keep one said Lazarus like the a person in the Bible but it’s not felt the

Same in the middle all right now the Callaway all right both of those I I a little faster I’m kind of scared to swing all out because I’m just afraid I’m going to pull her hit way to the right a giant slice or a giant

Hook so yeah there they are so not too far apart I couldn’t tell you which one’s Which All right so almost got a birded there that this close to making that birdie anyway uh you know for a short sample of holes I I kind of prefer the the cway over the the LA Lazarus um simply because it feels feels easier to swing

It feels lighter this gives a kind of a donk when you hit nothing wrong with that you know if you can ignore the Donk or ping noise it makes in a metallic or metal noise I guess you could say um this would be good it’s heavier this has

Got a heavier head on it and it looks bigger so I don’t know if you can really tell the camera is probably not going to do it justice but if you could tell that those are bigger let’s see um whoops they’re taller so this one

Has a taller face than this one so I don’t know if it’s hard to get them next to each other so it looks a little little taller a little broader than that but yeah I mean for the price this one’s pretty good it’s really good so you know if you you’re
