Justin Thomas avoids tree trouble TWICE at Valspar

In the second round of the 2024 Valspar Championship, Justin Thomas successfully escapes the trees with his second shot at the par-5 10th hole. He was able to limit the damage and save par on the hole. Then, after an errant tee shot at the par-4 11th hole, Thomas gets out of the native area with his second shot en route to a birdie.

The PGA TOUR’s Florida Swing reaches its conclusion this week as the Innisbrook Resort hosts the Valspar Championship. Xander Schauffele tees it up again after his T2 at THE PLAYERS Championship last week. The American has five top-10 finishes in seven events so far this season. He last played Innisbrook in 2022 where he finished T12. Justin Thomas will be in Florida this week and hopes to turn things around after a missed cut at THE PLAYERS Championship. He finished 10th last year and was third the year prior. He’s missed just one cut at the Valspar in his career. Jordan Spieth will also be at Innisbrook this week. He claimed victory here in 2015 and has finished in the top-20 in five of his six starts, including a T3 a year ago. Others to look out for are The Open champion Brian Harman, Tony Finau and Sam Burns.

This is way left gave it the full treatment three in a row Kurt left left at seven left at nine now way left at the 10th lots of tree roots down there well that is not a good look that is Justin Thomas’s ball at 10 John yeah right

Behind that tree and amongst a bunch of very big Roots he does have one little swing sliver that can kind of hook something through it’s a highrisk shot both for his health and for the for the golf score but it is possible otherwise he just pitching it out to the right

John it looks like there’s one he might be going and checking it out there’s one twig that might be loose behind it if he gets that out of there then maybe he has a chance yeah those roots kind of go right along his swing path where he’s

Going to want to hit the go have the club Head Pass Justin Thomas second I think he’s trying that shot we talked about this is fantastic couldn’t Pitch Out sideways he just went way down I mean that is about as good as he could have done good spot to hit his

Third from they hate these roots there have been a number of players through the years that have wrecked a wrist on something like this but Justin Thomas gets it back in play he’s out in the Fairway back here at 10 Justin Thomas third shot 63 yds

Yeah well done there got it up on top they have a great look at saving par Justin Thomas a chance to save par that’s a great Save Right There Kurt I loved it when a coin like that was close to my line you could use

That to be a guide down the hill like that it’s moving around then John isn’t it left again this is not comfortable and this is left again this four in a row this might miss the bunker left it did how hard it rolls too far it’s trouble and I think that might be

Trouble well he’s going to have at least a swing not like shle yesterday took unplayable as we go to Justin Thomas who’s way left at the 11th John yeah uh it’s not that bad he’s going to have a swing it didn’t get all the way into the bushes he’s going to

Have to kind of back in there and but he’s got an alley way to punch something out and get a short iron in his hand I believe how far up the Fairway John do you think he can advance and can he can he hit like a quick hook to maybe get a

Little bit deeper into that fairy close to the green it’s going to depend on the back swing and I haven’t seen him practice one to see if he’s going to hit anything in the back swing or not yet so if he can hit if he’s going to hit

Something I imagine he’ll just pitch something down if he’s got more of a full swing I he can hit that shot this is a par five not a par four like a 10 but his bogey avoidance impressive and you got to be able to find one other sort of in case of

Emergency Bo got fall back on that swing yeah perfect shot and for a lot of players it’s just a hold cut I know when tiger wasn’t playing his best you you would see him aimed back with Justin Thomas out of trouble now in the Fairway with his

Third been a common theme that out of trouble phras the last few holes four drives in a row on the left Ru he escaped again look at this shot he did it on the last hole on 10 to get up and down now that putt for birdie to get him

Share of the lead incredible to gut out a score here and that’s what the great players do and he’s certainly a great player and he’s now tied for the lead seven underp Aaron battley has some company thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube to watch another video click here and to

  1. “Fantastic”? Pitching out of the trees with a big opening ? Almost any golfer could hit that , that was the only option , you just grab any club and pitch it out
Also how does a pro like him hit the same horrible left drive 4 times in a row , I’ve never seen someone at his level make that mistake that many times
    He is so inconsistent lately
