Ali Carter Caught Cheating | MASTERS SNOOKER



Ali Carter vs John Higgins in the Quarter Final of the 2020 Masters.

Ali was ranked 17th in rhe World and was only allowed to compete because Ronnie O’Sullivan withdrew from the tournament.

He was 4-3 up against John in a first to 6 match. He played the yellow and missed in completely. This would’ve given Higgins 4 points and allowed him to ask Carter to play again from where the white landed, putting him in a lot of trouble with 3 open reds left and no easy shot.

Carter convinced the inexperienced ref who had no playback facility that he hit the ball. He then went on to win that frame and the match.

Was it cheating or a genuine mistake?

You did hit it you did you did okay look to well  I’d like to see it I mean referees called it a   foul he said he hit it no he didn’t H it didn’t  hit it he to B that I didn’t see him hit it well  

If the referee calls a foul it doesn’t matter  the player says well well I hit it because   we’re seeing clearly that he didn’t hit it I  mean certainly Ali Carter felt he hit he hit   the ball not not cheating at all guarantee  no no but the way he immediately went I did  

Hit it I think was had a big part in that but  we have got I suppose the opportunity to play   back shots these days yeah snooker’s version of  VAR if you want I don’t know if they got replay  

Facility no well that shake of the head from  Ben Williams tells us that the I’m absolutely   flabbergasted that um I’ve come off and they’ve  said well you didn’t hit the yellow because the   White’s coming up the table I’m trying to hit  it full Ball by the way or half just off full  

Ball to leave and it’s pulling away and then when  it’s got to the yellow so I’ve just been told it   turned left so it makes me think that I’ve hit  it um that’s it’s a mystery to me I would still  

Have my house on it that I I I hit it but I’d  obviously lose it if that’s what you’re telling me

    I dont get it. That interview was after that session or match. We can clearly see he didnt hit it. Why is he saying he touched the yellow

    A lot of hate comments here. Maybe justified but he certainly isn’t a cheat. No snooker player is. Even the great Ronnie has fouled and not spoke out I suppose he is a cheat too…

    Guy's got short man syndrome or something. Like comedian Andy Parsons, Carter is surrounded by more talented ppl and he's jealous.

    Carter doesn't seem to enjoy the game or himself.

    I do understand why Ronnie doesn’t like him.. it’s a shame really because he’s quite an exciting player to watch apart from him being an anoying person.
