I couldn’t believe so you that was a nice introduction uh the text came through and uh I haven’t played in one of these like real elevated fents and when I’ve played them I have not made a cut actually uh that number was astounding my wife almost fell out her

Chair and I’m not kidding you what funny the first text I sent you after watching full swing was like dude dope kitchen absolutely love it love what you’re doing here which was to say that in my late 30s my priorities maybe have changed a little bit in

You look a little different man you you got a little less little less ass on you if I might say you’re looking you’re down several pounds if I’m talking to Gino you hit the golf ball really well this week what’s what’s going on with

Joel since uh since we last saw you uh I don’t feel like a lot has changed um with me I guess I don’t know I’ve yes I’ve talked to I guess everyone wants to know yes I’ve talked to a sports he’s not a sports psychologist he is a sports

Life coach management guy super cool dude uh actually is it [Laughter] Windam it is not wind them as much as uh it would be just so easy to talk to sport psychologist when some majors and it’s super easy but uh no uh and really uh it’s it things have been really good

Since August and the golf game was pretty good in the fall and I was doing a lot of good things that all golfers tell you that we’re doing and you guys know you’ve been lying to forever but uh I knew that it was pretty good and

That’s why I went to Puerto Rico last week because I knew my game was close and uh Thursday was so disappointing uh but to wake up and come back and play great three days of golf was uh really nice and for Tron to send me a couple

Texts of stunting on hose uh phenomenal text from Tron uh that was after Friday I think too right yeah yeah it was and uh you don’t hand out compliments that easy so I knew I was doing something decent out there yeah I watched you fear a few

Holes today man it just it looked a little looked a little different man just watching you uh watching you shape shots here your shot into three today was just really good and uh and yeah you just look like uh things seem to be I guess what’s what’s kind of the reaction

Like after something like the full swing comes out and we have the reaction this is kind of the reaction to the reaction to the reaction I guess because your full swing season two is really about full swing season one and the effect it’s had on your life but uh you know

Kind of what how all that was portrayed and and how that relates to how things stand for you now what’s what what can you update us on yeah I think the hardest thing is that they were filming last year and this is like almost a year

From when it was going down so uh my my tough when they then they caught me in all of that time was like kind of a June July type time and it was I mean it was playing like [ __ ] and I was trying to negotiate a new world

So like come August like I was kind of back to being Joel again and like doing the right things the right way and had a great thing going off the course with my family and everything was good and played pretty well in the fall I mean I

Had to finished 13th at Sanderson and kind of had a sneaky chance in Vegas or I finished seventh um like I was fine but when it comes out again like you’re rehashing like old wound a little bit and uh everyone it’s kind of weird because everyone in the public is like

Oh man we believe you you can do this he was like man that was a long time ago like I am I am good and the hardest part is like you want to show people how like that you are good and the only way you can actually tell them that you’re good

Or show them that you’re good is by playing good golf and my results haven’t been that good this year but you know when you’re closer to playing a golf than when you’re not and you can a lot of guys fake it or and I’ve faked it a

Ton like oh I’m close I’m close but like I really thought it was close and that’s why added Puerto Rico last week and um I mean I had to play one of the better probably top five of the last 54 holes I would argue maybe my first round was

Very good but I was kind of hanging around there for the last 54 what are what are the indicators for you Joel when you’re close what are like the signals that you can really tell DJ why are you asking hard questions uh we could talk about Jack’s

Beach or the weather or how great was the 17th hole out there Joel did you feel the support that’s actually that’s a really good question the indicators are um I would say so we always have a baseline of where I’m at like kind of on track man

Like I can if I aim my body five degrees left and I’m swinging it and my path goes three and my face is a one and a half like that’s pretty good so if I can show up and just kind of like feel like my aim’s normal and swing normal and the

Ball flight’s kind of like a small cut like that’s what I like um and sometimes when you show up to the golf course it doesn’t feel the same way sometimes you feel like you have to swing right or sometimes you have to swing more left or sometimes you feel

Like you have to aim a certain way and it was all kind of coming together of like I started to feel it and when I um I don’t really play Shots as much as um maybe some other players but like when I start to like feel a draw and actually

Like draws two yards like that’s pretty good so I can get out there and just start playing golf and uh I looked at my coach my luckily coach ra CAD for me last week in in Puerto Rico and he’s like dude just play golf like you’re fine everything we’re doing here like I

Kept looking at him for answers he’s like I don’t have an answer for you anymore man like at some point you have to sack up and play golf and uh after Thursday here this week he’s like I can’t your numbers are fine like quit playing trackman he’s like anti-

Trackman guy yes we do have trackman and we use it but he’s like get out of trackman and go play golf and I just started playing golf and it actually worked which is really fun Joel hair looks magnificent unbelievable in the comments I uher I’m trying to balance my I’m in

Actually eron fleer’s room right now who’s staying with me and trying to figure out where to go but this is special this is super long and really gray and I can’t believe that I’m in public like this but no one watches your show anyway so we’re good guys right

Joel Joel uh you going yeah we’ll out after they showed it on the uh on the broadcast today Austin ot’s ball hanging on the lip yeah how all right so walk us through that because it seemed like they had dece bobic on I think it was taped but they had dece bobic on

Almost immediately and they’re like no this is out outside of outside of 10 seconds how does that go down because he he like he basically hits the the putt he hanging on the lip he kind of slow walks up there you guys are both examining it very very close up how does

That go on from a rules perspective from there uh so you have when when a ball start’s sitting on the edge of Li you have a normal amount of time or a you don’t you can’t just walk around forever yeah so a reasonable amount of time to get to

The ball when you reach the ball I don’t know what they clarify that probably imaginary circle of three feet you have 10 seconds for the ball to fall in the hole if a if Falls in 10 seconds it counts as it going in if it takes longer

Than 10 seconds for it to go in it technically is a penalty stroke they count the ball going in so you get like whatever score you normally get so Austin made a five when he probably should had a birdie I mean and it was so weird

Because we got up there and he asked he he asked all the things he’s like hey how long do I have and in like 10 seconds and I started kind of counting in my head I’m like okay were probably beyond the reasonable amount of time or

Whatever you want to clarify but I’m I’m like there with them I’m like this Ball’s going in 100% the ball’s moving the entire time this is going in I just like you always wonder how that works because this ball is going in the hole and that’s why we

Sit there down close to it you guys call that on yourselves does does Austin basically get up to the next te and say hey I think that was longer than 10 minutes or did the rules official come up a couple holes later and say it probably felt like 10 minutes but 10

Seconds would be the the clarifying there but it yeah um we so he asked what to do I’m like hey look we have cameras on us this week actually all shots are live if you guys weren’t aware of this uh it’s really special product baby yeah it’s this thing uh not many commercials

Either I think it’s just really cool thing that we’re working on and um so I just said look just call the rules official and just say hey will you look at this and DET like whatever Tok so rules fish came over Gary Young was inside and back

Within like a minute and he’s like overtime that’s far and it’s kind of weird because in that moment given Austin was not playing well but if it was me like dude my ball was going in the entire time it never stopped moving that’s why we sat there we watched it

Like that would be a brutal thing to go through um unfortunately he played terrible today uh so he didn’t he didn’t care and he just won two weeks ago and he’s rich as [ __ ] and he’s young and he’s going to be really good for a long

Time so he really doesn’t care um but it was just a it’s a weird thing it’s like dude this Ball’s going in we all knew it was going in that’s why we stared at it and then you’re like oh no that’s a good part we Joel we opened the show today

Just with raving about the way this tournament ended the way the energy was on this at this tournament all week and and how good the product was at the very end what is it after what’s been a kind of a tough start to the year with a lot

Of stuff that’s been going on tough couple years if I may say are you feeling in that energy like do you walk off this tournament aside from what you produced there are you kind of you know with what uh the The Players Championship as a whole kind of give us

Your your reaction to the tournament and the week as a whole yeah I mean I get that like this week has an asteris in it right because Taylor Gucci is in here and I I completely understand that um it’s just a reality it is it’s just it’s

Facts actually um so I I get that it’s not what it used to be but when you drive onto this property and you drive up TBC Boulevard or whatever is and you see the clubhouse like you get the same thing as like major championship fields

And like this is a big time five the other thing you get is like every coach is on property every psychologist is on property everything’s here like it is a major championship feel the vibe is just different around here so that’s and that’s on like a Tuesday right so you

Know that like players try a little extra I mean we’re going to go to next week which is a great event but it’s just going to be like a let down because um it’s just not the players like it’s just ramped up fi everything about it is

Is really good I think when we get taken care of the way we do in the clubhouse and the dining we have and all that stuff like it’s just a whole other level so um that’s just a different level this week and and it’s really good I don’t

Know it’s uh yes Joel I saw you on panicked Thursday afternoon Fleer came in said he’s going to the bar I was trying to figure out if I’m going to the bar with him potential lynches but there was no it’s all good I I actually have a

Kid here with my wife so I’m not going anywhere but I was trying to figure out how to get out of the house without getting out of the house it was a panic move we’re good well I was I was gonna look to wrap up this show so I can come

Meet you wherever you end up because Joel that’s a it’s a bucket list thing for a lot of people he’s drinking a high noon too I am not drinking hon guys no he’s not come on I would never do that come on guys I only drink Bush Mills I love Bush
