Had some power comfy mwing jeez get out of here Cow hello and welcome back to round one coverage from the open at Austin presented by flight Factory discs we are on the back nine of the Harvey pinck course and you are watching Jo Pro with big sexy Berry Nate sex and Jeremy coing and Paul whatever storm is is blooming

Brought in some incredible wins that really played a lot of challenge for our group on that front nine some short Miss putts some highlights it was a good round overall though and we’ve got nine more holes to go but first we want to showcase these bad boys I picked mine up

Today and it’s a very comfy shirt and I figured if I’m going to be in Texas for a month I better have a j Texas shirt get yours right now on jpro front nine compared to the leaders we got five under leading the tournament right there through nine holes and we

Got a three under from Ganon which is very solid only two back and then a couple one under well three one unders down the line you mentioned it earlier in the front nine that if you come out of the front nine one under you’re feeling pretty good and you are dead on

Mhm but they need to get it going on this back nine cuz it is a more scorable back nine or of the nines and starting here on whole 10 it’s just this 350 315 ft down the hill to this island and green depending on the Wind left to

Right for sure today um it’s a tough one to stick a tough green to putt on too yeah I think it’s it’s really tough today because it’s really inviting to the forehand and I think a lot of players probably practice that but then this ripping wind getting under the disc

For the right hand forehand makes that shot so much more touchy I do like the backhand play with a putter much better condition for the backhand today and this is peeling off to the right but it cannot go too far cuz there is out of bounds between that line and the canal

Wall as we’re coming in a little bit too hot see if Brad can get the Right Touch Too Much super stable disc that just didn’t really have a chance either could have gotten a a fair deflection but it does not there’s that wind nice width how’s the distance pretty good just stays in

Bounds good enough out here really want to keep it low and left nichos Nice Shot here nichos with the forehand driver oh in Ace corner pocket right side look at these look at the reaction remember he just missed a phot for for bogey there so even par

Between 9 and 10 is pretty good folks wow watch this catch though right in the pocket click wow last person on the day to throw the hole and gets the ace that’s kind of cool that might have not stayed in bounds that thing had some heat I I tend

To agree with you really really sweet though here’s the world record shortest Drop Zone we I’ve ever I think personally seen it’s about what 37t yeah it’s just a walk in the park for Ezra or maybe a little skip Brad is going to have to make that putt for the

Bogey gam in for birdie it’s got that action that Nico locastro used to putt with that I couldn’t quite figure out how his disc went up and down so quick and yet still went in like if if anyone who’s watching used to watch Nico back in the

20 2009 2010 era he had a a shape for his putt that no one else could even mimic and I feel like that’s what ganon’s doing with his putt these days like that putt didn’t look good to me and it was just perfect I definitely feel like his putting stroke is changed

Over the last even two seasons and it still has the same result it’s like dead center whole 11 what we got five five of them pars thousand of them feet so it’s a long one crosswind today coming from the left so tricky condition for the forehand maybe it’s

Going to hold the back hands a little bit we noticed this was a super fast skipping Fairway in practice so I think this is a favorable wind for the backhand Drive I think in a on a practice day this is pushing towards out of bounds today there’s no way yeah just so that

Skip is just going to get pushed right down you’re right Nate it’s exactly what you’re looking for Canon’s going to force a little Annie on this uh just flat does pull it but this will this will come back into probably a great spot yeah Eagle

Potential if you want to go for it today is a good win for it with that backhand favored wind you know what this guy wants to do yeah that farther than canons or no it looked like it I know but got there quicker that’s one of ganon’s secret

Powers is like not looking like he’s doing much and then somehow 575 ft later there’s a disc in the Fairway yeah I we’ll have to see I’m interested cuz I agree with you Ezra’s looked quicker well Bradley’s right next to uh ganet I think oh is he next Ganon

Or is that Ezra I think it’s Ezra I think Ganon might be the long AR okay well we’ll have to see six oh yes that’s great this was such a a hard Landing Zone to get if you go for the layup that it just almost enticed

Going for the eagle like why not that’s what Bradley’s thinking but this is turned and I don’t know if that’s a good thing uh it’s not unfortunately just a little bit too much turn it tried there at the very end just that crosswind held it out and

Looks oh no yeah that late turn there for Ezra just no chance great shots though I mean good they’re just aiming a little left those are right on it yeah it’s just hard to convince yourself to actually do that to aim straight at the basket because

There’s OB on the left side as well so you’re worried if your disc does catch like this one looks like it’s going to yeah the mistake to make is trying to go OB left I mean yeah at least there you’re getting all the distance and from

There it’s just a pitch up you might even be able to make that big long birdie putt very aggressive but this is a lot like ho n to where there’s not a great place to lay up to unless you want to be 350 to 370

Back like this is a small little area to lay up to right absolutely like you saw Nicholas’s shot barely stay in bounds with ended up being a great shot but he’s only kind of right oh I guess he’s right in the middle I’m going to stop

Talking it looked like it was way closer to Obi yes it’s still pretty close to OB and he still got to work for it that’s a long approach elevated basket could be a obstructed putt as well speaking of obstructed putts up and over from Ganon Burr I’m still tripping out about the

1039 statistic for ezro like if You’ have told me that ezro was rated higher than Kyle Klein I just couldn’t believe that he’s been officially balling out there yeah he’s like a top 10 insano every single week NEOS is three under in the last two holes and looks

Like he’s three over and I have just haven’t seen that that level of focus or energy or whatever you want to call it I think that that that Miss putt back there on nine really got in his head maybe the warning for for time back on eight but either way he’s keeping the

Intensity up right now yeah he is great but nine Eagles Aaron gosage Adam hamus I’m going to call him out that’s a big eagle Anthony Barella Calvin heimberg Cory Ellis Gavin Rathbun Jake wolf Jake wolf okay Kyle Klein and Tristan Tanner Jake wolf stands out cuz that’s two

Forehands is it really does he throw back hands no might be two tomahawks that’s incredible I don’t want to know I want to know some tell tomw oh my God somebody get us information and how Jake wolf threed that hole whole 12 Par 3 375 through the

Double Mando working left up onto this little rise tricky putt today in the wind so you’d really like to get this one nice and close if you can skip that’s kind of what you’re looking to do you want to drive it into that Hillside and let the disc just kind

Of pop up the hill trying to slow it down as much as you can as it gets to the peak of that hill this is wide how stable does he want it to be very yeah very stable please be stable yeah okay doesn’t look great

But if that was short and left we would have called it a good drive of course it’s in the circle this looks similar going to be out near that OB line stays out there pretty pretty far couple tough putts though see if Bradley can learn a little bit more inside a little more

Heiser catch with that I don’t like that it caught that yeah that that slows it down from it was going to have a little bit more width mhm and in the end yeah he’s left with this pup which is just scary very scary very hard to

Obviously overhangs the OB so if you try to get cute and get cut it inside too early you’re probably going to be in trouble big high Hiser makes a lot of sense here trying to get the disc to stall left and checking in with our front nine

Leader Calvin heimberg who got the eagle on 11 after the birdie on 10 so he is now 8 under going for the inside line just getting the height right to get a three on nine and a three on 11 in this wind oh gosh just kind of boggles the

Mind wait wait hold on hold on he birdied 8 9 10 7 89 10 7 89 yeah eagled 11 wow yeah what a stretch for Calvin he’s back baby he need this needs to hurry yeah it’s not going to and a little too wide a

Little bit of a it’s kind of a crazy wind here cuz you’re on the other side of these trees so when you initially walk up to the te you kind of feel little bit of headwind Vibes but it still is a little bit more of a left to right

Headwind I just said Vibes and I’m so sorry what’s wrong with that just overuse word for this Dage o Nice Shot there little long what’s your problem with Vibes dude I don’t know man I not getting vibes from that word oh here we go does it have the it slow down that’s

Around the edges and I think that’s a scary thing for oh yeah I feel like if he can smooth and I’m not saying he’s not smooth or he’s not um he’s 1039 rated but that’s a scary thing cuz when I watch him play compared to like a

Ganon or a Nicholas there’s a little something missing you know what I mean like that polish yeah that little polished extra whatever that is in the next few years if he can figure out how to smooth that out whatever that is whatever that thing is I know what

You’re saying it’s just the eye test that I’m doing right now it’s going to be one of our best he’s already one of our best talents that’s why it’s a tough thing to kind of talk about Yeah I mean he’s right there in the mix obviously he’s trailing Calvin as the whole field is at this point as Calvin is off to a two-stroke lead first round you usually don’t see that unless we’re maybe finished with the round but y little separation for him as we go to

Whole 14 par 4 short technical par 4 545 ft is it but there is OB left side the whole way and an outof bounds green area on the right side as you approach this basket which is also guarded with a right side Hazard bunker t-sh shot’s going to be just a

Straight shot or maybe a forehand turnover but let’s take a look at Gavin wrath buun look at this is this look at this drive it’s a mey drive and this is heading towards that bunker but he stays a little short outside the circle putt with a little Tailwind solid gets Gavin to seven

Under inside no makes the corner that’s that’s a wonderful Gap there just sneaking around the inside oh boy this is long oh boy it’s like by Gavin that’s I think that’s past Gavin by 10 15 20 ft wow yeah these guys are all going fast what okay

Interesting why is he always trying to break holes I don’t think he’s going to like what happened I mean he’s putting it up there in the wind I don’t understand that play with maybe in practice when when the wind’s down or it was a Tailwind but he he’s going into

Like a headwind a head right to left where did this go right down the middle yeah that’s that right side is a good area to scramble from the trees gaps open up a lot more very good indeed it’s looking Skyward again okay oh first you don’t succeed there’s no

More OB up there on the left so I guess there is that he might crash woods again guess said guarantees just a bogey which is yeah pretty much best case from where he was how stable wow that great amount of stable that was fantastic with all that wind just

Perfectly judged where he lends it flat on the little null down there that’s a beautiful shot shot look at that Landing yeah plan the counter skip to Perfection tap and birdie coming for nichas sit down go in or something okay oh perfect so easy couldn’t play the

Whole better imagine if he was polished guys I think I think the eye test thing for me I I kind of get what you guys are saying I think it comes down down to good effort his reach back is like aggressive and I think as you when you

See a smooth player Oh solid that was a great put when you see a smooth player the reach back is kind of like laggy and and a little bit more loose yeah and I think with Ezra obviously his Effectiveness cannot be questioned but I think for an eye test thing for me

Anyway I see some of that and go oh man why is that it’s kind of hitchy or there’s some there’s like a double move in the reach back but he’s hitting every Gap soap so I don’t know if maybe he knows something I don’t know you know

I’m not ready to say that there’s anything wrong with what he’s doing because he’s playing phenomenally I I completely agree I just think that there’s something hidden in there that can be better which is terrifying for the field I mean he’s only 21 that’s he’s only 21 years old he’s only

21 our our sport is going to be good luck if you’re 10 years old and you want to be a professional disc golfer in like 8 to 10 years the Sport’s going to be so hard well they’re ready these 10-year-olds are ready I don’t care about that I’m saying good luck I don’t

Mean that in a negative way I mean literally good luck have a good time doing that I’ll be chilling in Grand [Laughter] Masters oh a little Anthony Barilla siding Fat Tony letting one ride surprising to see him go putter with his efficiency with his Raptor forehand but

I mean again how can you question results he’s so good at open shots like this Gavin going forehand around everything around it must almost and it looked on purpose to me this shot is so awkward because the teapad you just wish it was a foot left of where it

Is and a putt like that that gets Gavin to eight but it really forces a very awkward release angle when you’re trying to throw this t- shot you can kind of see what I’m talking about these right side trees I think maybe Anthony might be a

Good uh comparison to Ezra as far as a few years back very fast like you saying still getting the job done sure don’t look now that putt for neaus to get him to seven under par look at this buttery shot right here that is so

Good it’s hard to be that far right the entire way with these early trees yeah and there’s a green over there on the on the right that’s kind of scary you turn it over the same thing and this is going to find that green I I think oh just pumps the brakes in

Time very high oh no yeah yeah too high that circle’s Edge though what do you do with this one L I just gonna ask you I think Brad’s gonna send it and and he’s going to regret it dang it but you got to commit you have to be

100% whatever you decide to do and you can’t regret the result you can’t be results oriented in that moment also a little meat left G is just doing that Superstar thing where he’s still technically killing it at three under missing will not regret it what a putt

You know what I mean like ganon’s missed like three of his last putt opportunities he kind of made a mess of the last hole with the bogey he’s still three under and has an opportunity to still get to six under par absolutely just a day in the park

For him I mean when you’re playing at that level oo just a little high catch but when you’re playing at that level when you’re a world beater beater like Ganon is I mean clearly your average is everyone else’s great great yeah so he has room for a lot of mistakes he generates that

Many opportunities NEOS is on a heck of a run right now he sure is what was he was one down on the front nine sits at seven down now with holes to play Ezra with a four under with a double bogey bogey in there back to back Amazing basically have the same exact hole coming up right here hole 16 little bit tougher version maybe I mean less OB though I mean the blind nature of it I think makes it a little bit harder to be precise yeah a little longer but no real out of bounds to

Worry about left side certainly there is a line and then there’s all these Hazard bunkers but I think a little less likely with today’s win to get to those it was birded half the amount of times 16 from 15 this gets birdied half as many times as

Yes I have a feeling that Andrew mared might be thinking about birding it though with a alliser forehand shot great power and a great roll on the end of it he doesn’t even need to be a 93% c1x putter with the drive that good yeah you don’t get a c1x stat there big

Mistake from Andrew he’s going to have a bullseye here that’s not going to help his percentages at all he didn’t really like tap it in either he did his full putt like dude you’re in the bullseye calm down we know you make them nichlas trying to go low flip up I

Left side so far this round Calvin jeez 10 under with Andrew Calvin still couple to go was that Andrew’s final score or is that was 16 as well oh wow they both have a couple holes to try to get even more under than that that’s just greedy

At this point whole 17 Par 3 410 through the woods OB line down the left side early mandatory forcing you to the left I think the force over backhand or slight turnover backhand is really the only play to get up here into C1 and have a a legitimate chance at birdie

This is a difficult hole I like his throw for this hole why well he throws this slight little turn not enough stability but he’s also a good putter it’s pretty great yep anything short right there 4550 that’s where like if you throw a really good shot on a day like today that’s where

They’re going to end up unless you get the full High there’s just too many I think it’s still gonna that’s ridiculous that is ridiculous that hit way too early of a thing 15 trees still got all the way up there it’s a it’s a great shape for Ganon

Though in that force over game n glos bringing out his force over oh this is in danger of a ki o yeah it gets it anything left side just seems to find that OB this this is so good guys love this shot very good still yeah yeah I mean

Okay you’re inside C2 fantastic you’re inside C1 extra fantastic CL counting on some good ground play and gets it yeah great recovery not an easy shot you see all those little small trees you know about at about 45 ft he did a good job playing well wide of those and counting on the

Angle no way Oh I thought that was in you just can’t birdie after hitting that early of a tree on this difficult of a hole he’s just all over it telling you man Ezra Robinson is all gas no breaks typical for this hole I feel like a

Maybe maybe one birdie if you see it and then a bogey sprinkled in there bunch of pars where is it coming in uh it’s coming at a perfect average of three wow okay just as many birdies as there are bogies 24 of those birdies to be Exact three players sitting at 10 under through 17 looking at hole 18 brand new hole par 4 685 ft OB on both sides although the OB on the left side does sort of jog away into the woods and not and stop being a factor on the whole for second

Shots and third shots that right side one runs the entire way though and there’s lots of Fairway trees here so you’d look to get at least about 350 off the tea I think to make this a manageable hole where you can start to think about birdie here is

Mared looking at a long birdie bid 10 under not a bad day work maybe yeah 10 under just a fantastic round 1070 plus I believe 1081 1080 plus this is moving yoinks just such a flat Landing that is a really good display of control heberg a little High oh does it come back it does not that is out of bounds Over The Spectators there’s that mandatory up there as well so this is going to force him back into the Fairway I don’t think it’s possible for him to reach the green certainly not with the mid-range he has

In his hands so so this is a position play and heavy on the turnover not an easy up and down to save the bogey still going backhand you know what he’s been doing he’s been just choosing the right shot lately like not trying to force the sidearm not he’s just making the gaps

Big his confidence is so high one thing to note about Calvin here is no sidearms he hasn’t thrown one sidearm and he said he’s not throwing any sidearms this tournament none so that makes these shots extra difficult yeah the scrambling is probably where he misses it the

Most not doing too bad still having a decent day you’re you’re right about that oh yeah Anthony Burell with that birdie he will jump to eight under par a back nine with an eagle a par and a bogey and the rest birdies meanwhile Calvin heimberg with a double bogey

Sliding from 10 under to eight under check in here with Cory Ellis this putt for birdie this would give him the outright lead going into the final or the second round wow oh wow that was on a great line just didn’t have quite enough pace top 10 putter for you on

Tour Cory yeah yeah yeah I think that’s how many people are on that top 10 I feel like there’s probably 10 30 people good answer I think I think some maybe as many as 15 thank you that’s the right answer big tie at tent yeah and

Gavin with a little bit of wood help to keep him in the Fairway and then set up a nice little G mental breaking gosh casual looking forand there nice and this to get to 9 under no jump needed oh yeah what a delivery like couple check-ins with

Gavin and both of them delivering big putts and now finally to our feature group on the last hole shown you a couple ways to do it and a couple ways to not do it it uh that’s definitely in the ways to do it category so good and even that

The difference between his and Anthony’s like you said anony just stopped in the middle there was no action to go left that’s going to be a tough scramble there’s no action to go left that’s not a Miss we see too often from gonur that came out of the hand

Really early Bradley Williams is also really good at making that disc kind of go and then land soft let’s see if we can do it here that was going to land pretty pretty soft yeah it’s still not a bad spot where he went early as well getting the flip up

Can he get the Annie skip yes he can nichas likes that angle for the four hand turnover I think he’s going to like his chances to potentially finish this round with the birdie this is a great shot from there yeah good recovery tough spot to be early and left side is brutal on

18 this is going to be all of 400 maybe even oh no that was close Brad has 400 in that forehand when he needs it and that was turning nicely if he could have pulled it off of that tree this is a little heavy on Heiser I

Think but it’s going to wow it pushes all the way up there his Drive was bigger than I thought that was fantastic that’s like picture perfect how you would draw the hole up Ganon looking to looking like he’s going to be getting aogi here on the final hole no bad little

Kick should be able to manage to get up and down from there though this is tricky go you don’t like those putts today that should work though yeah you know where he’s trying to make this absolutely he’s got that like little throw putt where it’s 90 ft looks pretty easy for him

Nass for another birdie great day today seven under right in the mix for the tournament with a double and a single pretty pretty good work out there Brad they’ll stay it one under par all in all not the worst day ever not what he’s looking for

Though probably his worst day in a long time how good he’s been playing lately nice five under from Ezra and Ganon will drop to [Applause] three bunch of red in there they got the odd digits covered here at 135 and seven Cory Ellis and Andrew Mar the only two players in the

The field to get to double digits under par we’ll have Gavin rpon and Anthony Barella on our lead card going into a round two that poses a lot of threat for inclement weather potential thunderstorms perhaps no round two we don’t quite know yet we’re crossing our fingers that we get the three rounds
