NEW Wood v Taylormade Qi10?!?! HUGE DIFFERENCE!!

NEW Wood v Taylormade Qi10?!?! HUGE DIFFERENCE!! – In this video we put a cheap fairway wood against Taylormades latest Qi10 wood range!! Not only a huge price difference but also a huge difference in technology and adjustability WHICH Would YOU Go for?!

Are you looking for a new fivewood today we’re talking about five Woods we’re talking about mid- handicap days fivewood and we’re talking about what you need to look for again do you need adjustability do you need something that obviously is consistent we obviously do need that but do we need to spend more

Money or less money to get that here on the golf Zone unfortunately golf courses are closed here in the UK at the moment so we have got Dave inside we are going to be doing some testing in here before we jump back out onto the golf course

When we finally can get back out there and put them to the test on the golf course we know inside you don’t always have the same kind of nerves you do out on the golf course on a t- box when you’re trying to hit a green trying to

Hit a fairway or just trying to make contact but in here let’s see what the numbers say so Dave has purchased the Tacomo ignis Fairway Wood we have got the fivewood we have got it set in the neutral setting which is a big talking point we’ll be talking about in the next

Couple of weeks and we’ve also got a 20 G weight in the back obviously in there we have got the Hazardous smoke Chef we haven’t got it in a regular a 5.0 50 g with the lamp King grip and Dave has got his Aros in the end but Dave so far

You’ve enjoyed it I like it yeah um as people might have seen in previous videos um I’ve been eating it well I’ve been eating especially well off the tea so really enjoying it yeah so Dave obviously we put a video on last week saying is this the best value obviously

Coming around about 220 as you’ll see on screen again we have got the carbon top we have got adjustability not only with weights but also adjustable sleeve and we’ve got premium components so Dave’s hitting it well but obviously for the save we’ve got one of the latest Fairway

Woods on the market to test it against but what does it have to be it has to be the straightness that Dave is getting right there obviously carry wise 71 going 190 so a very good start there from Dave Dave was that a centered strike that was pretty good for me yeah

Pretty good y so again Direction we’ve seen on the golf course and I’ll put some swings on screen now we can see that Dave’s been getting a nice penetra ball fight not only off the ground but also off the tea and this is where you’re looking for this kind of Club

You’re probably wanting it to go you know good off both of those options off the te and off the Fairway oh a shame that well as no I think it was CU that ball was there Dave but let’s see all right okay is he say we’re ready we’re ready I think Dave put that there everyone right are we ready we are obviously one so if you have bought a

New fairway wood or you are looking what are you looking at comment below guys that one good right a m strike there let’s see the distance wise again we’ve lost around about 15 yards carry but that’s a total m strike so exactly what we would expect to see Dave caught the

Mat Chris caught the mat instead of the ball right back to normal cat procedure great strike there Dave carry 175 going 190 so we’ll hit one more with that Dave obviously very consistent so far one M ST which is exactly what we’d expect from a mid- handicap golfer just the

One yeah that’s a rarity for Dave although not with this fivewood it’s the dri we’re going to fix here today all straightish straightish yeah we take that down the center line but again consistency 175 going 190 very consistent there from Dave but we’re going to put that now up against the QI

10 Max so straight stra away there is differences in looks obviously this is a much bigger profile than the Tacomo so is this aimed at Dave is this the one that he would go to comment below guys have you gone for the qi1 max or have you gone for the standard version one

Very interesting thing is here obviously no adjustable weights on the bottom but also no adjustability in the huzzle so this is a five this is set at 19° and we can’t change that is that a good thing or is that a bad thing comment below cuz

We’re going to be doing a lot of videos around that in the coming weeks not only with Fairway but also with drivers so Dave obviously First Impressions obviously of this club see the look it looks it looks nice don’t get me wrong but for the amount of

Money that you’re paying for it I would have expected adjustability I mean I keep going back to the Tacomo but there’s lots of adjustability you can almost make it into a forward yeah um and do change the weights at the back etc for the money that they’re charging

For this I would have expected some more adjustability on the other hand when you go for a fitting they do say you just leave the damn thing as they are instead of messing about like handicappers do yeah and that’s one big thing for me is adjustability good because how many

Times I see people change the driver settings change the Fairway settings because it’s obviously the club it’s not them uh but obviously this club is coming in at £39 on average so straight away they’re 90 more we’ve got a fui COR shaft in there straight away launch a

Little bit higher a lot higher obviously there we’ve got one degree difference in there but 174 carry 186 so straight away Dave sound and feel how did it feel to you much different no not much different at all sound um no I’m fine with it I’ve got no issues either way obvious your

Profile down at the ball Dave obviously does this look a lot bigger to you it does and I’m not sure that I’m keen on it because I I prefer the look of the Tacomo again that makes me feel feel more like I do with my hybrids which I’m

Really comfortable with yeah so we’ll put them on screen next to each other now obviously you can see the different profile but obviously Dave could opt for a different Qi 10 we wouldn’t know maybe for the max we could look at the standard which is a smaller profile head

Obviously this gets you that little bit more forgiveness and even as a 13 handicap golfer does Dave need that little bit more forgiveness potentially cuz we all do but there obviously a slight m strike that wasn’t the best strike in the world it wasn’t as bad as

The bad one with the Tacoma but no so still went 168 carry we’ve still got some forgiveness Dave obviously there forgiveness there obviously buy that shot cuz it wasn’t the best shot in the world and it’s still gone yeah so let’s go a couple more now

Dave and this is where guys when you’re choosing a fairway wood think about where you going to use it on the golf course are you going to use it off the te are you going to use it off the Fairway is it a bit of both please don’t

Just buy one for one certain hole there again another good stke 172 going 184 so a little bit shorter but we know that’s because of the Loft that the club is setting so only one degree but that’s a that’s a good Landing angle but may not

Play well if he was playing Links Golf and this is where the max version is designed to get you that a little bit higher launch so if you’re struggling with your flight then the max version could be the uh the one for you obviously we know Dave has struggled

With his flight but with the Tacoma he’s getting a nice penetrating ball flight well you have to say Chris those three are very consistent they’ve almost landed within a yard of each other yeah so consistency there straight away obviously but is it worth the 80 difference that’s the big question Dave

Uh for me no no exactly so sorry to be simple I know you probably wanted me to expand on that but no so obviously Dave straight there as a yorksman no it is not but guys obviously no adjustability on there it’s a big Topic at the minute obviously do you want to have

Adjustability you want to mess around there there’s a lot of things you can change on clubs now obviously to make it more upright to make it flatter to add Loft to take Loft off which often changes and opens the closes the face of those clubs is that a good thing for you

Because if you don’t know where you swing is is it good to be able to Tinker that’s something that you know tiger didn’t always go for something that’s adjustable he went for something that was fixed he made sure that he got the right Loft he made sure he got the club

That was right for him to be able to hit the best shots he possibly could he didn’t want that adjustability to be able to Tinker with it do you like that do you like to change hopefully D hit another good one behind me guys hopefully you’ve enjoyed that but really

Think about it are you wanting to spend more money to get the same kind of results or would you go something a little bit cheaper a little bit more affordable not able to test it but you’re still going to get the performance that’s the big thing for you

Guys and obviously think about it when you go for fittings if you do get set for something some set adjustability please stick with that

  1. Ping G430 5 and seven wood HL ,waiting on the seven to come in . 5 wood a little later , waiting on a new store to open in April .

  2. I think adjustable woods can cause more problems, I have a standard QI10 3 wood, if the fitting is right you don't need to adjust

  3. I actually went to a TaylorMade Stealth 2 plus 3 and 5 woods. Have that large adjustable weight on the bottom, with adjustability also

  4. I currently have an adams tight lies 2 fairway wood from 20 plus years ago in the bag lol 13 degrees, but weirdly because of it's age it works like a weak 3 wood which I find perfect. Has a classic Ust Mamiya shaft in and new grip. So it all depends on what players like, personally I don't care for adjustment in fairway woods.

  5. Hi Chris & Dave. The cynic on me says that TM have dropped the adjustable hostel to improve their factory efficiencies and earn more profit. I've a G20 5 wood that I love and TM have gone back to this era; poor for the prices they are charging. Well done Takomo!!

  6. I found this a very good and informative video. But I will say, last season, I purchased an Adams Tight lies 5 wood. Fixed hosel, no adjustable weights. $90. In some places they are still on sale for that cost. Or the new version. The Adams Idea 5 wood for $179. I believe it's better value for product, and performs just the same as those more costly 5 woods. I like to see an Adams 5 wood added to the test. Maybe Golf clubs for cash might have that 2021 version??
    Keep up the great work.

  7. Adjustable off course Dave is 100% right at these price points. Unless you are fully fitted. I just bought my first 5 wood ever after 25 y of golf, the st-230max, dialed back 1 degree to 17 to reduce risk of ballooning and encourage a fade a bit more
