The PGA TOUR heads to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida this week for the 50th anniversary of the THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Defending champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course looking to become the first golfer to go back-to-back at THE PLAYERS after his impressive win last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. This was his seventh victory on TOUR since the 2022 WM Phoenix Open. He has also claimed four top-10s across his five starts so far this season. Rory McIlroy will also be in the field this week. He is without a top-20 this season but will take confidence from his victory here in 2019. Viktor Hovland returns to TPC Sawgrass following two straight top-10 finishes at THE PLAYERS, including a solo third last season. Others to look out for are 2021 PLAYERS winner Justin Thomas, 2023 U.S Open champion Wyndham Clark, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele.

Got to get it going after three straight pars this one ought to be dancing around the hole kind of like that oh it might go in unbelievable and how about getting it to 14 under just like that what a roar Dan he’s attracted obviously some of the biggest galleries out here there’s Tedy

With six up well let’s count him and Scotty Sheffer coming off his second career Eagle at Saw Grass come on Scotty 460 yard Par Four one of the best holes on the golf course you see that hole tucked over that little knob there there and let’s return

To the fifth and Sheffer the Eagle at four try to go Eagle birdie here yeah playing with Lashley so he saw that putt go in will it be contagious hey hey Here Comes number one in the world Eagle birdie Sheffer tied for third Sheffer on the T 243 going for a

High fade to that back hole location want to land it probably eight or 10 steps short of the ho high get it a Chase back there to it terrific shot there going to have a great look uphill left to right putt there from about 124 ft saw hideki’s ball move to the right

At the very end another one Falls for sheer you said you’d like 20 under abouts to have a [Applause] chance oh he did it oh he did Brad oh kind of sit now yeah that Fringe slowed him down he’ll stay on the green that’ll be just fine from chipping over

There though two incredible shots the t- shot we’re seeing a view from back here he’s right aiming right at Ted Scott’s feet 62- footer caring some heat yeah sure is almost off the green we saw three people putt off the green yesterday we were talking about you know this I have

This great quote Success brings Clues you know and he he got this new putter he got a little taller Putter’s longer the Mallet and he’s rolling him in more often what a front nine since then 211 and Sheffer second shot 210 to this hole talking about

Holes to attack Mike six iron up in the air right where matama was still not a hard shot but that was right at it again Sheffer pepper and flag sticks a group earlier this is third little uncomfortable with the foot out of the bunker helps you get some height lock

Spin there ball reacted almost identically to hiis where one hopping backed up yeah look he looks like he’s eager to get over these now there’s no trepidation just 12 punts through 10 holes today the man who leads the PGA Tour par five scoring average that’s what he’s trying to do a little

Right side of the green needs a bounce it gets it that’s perfect it’s going to feed left here be whole High by the end of it one of the best we’ve seen all day what can’t this guy do bad he was feeling he he came close to walking

Off the golf course the other day because the pain in his neck was so bad he’s already at 18 one back a shot 19 he’s got to get three to four more I think Smiley and and Dan here to to have a chance to to do this

And Eagle there will go a long way way he’s playing he might do it he’s got he’s chasing more history today for the solo lead should just go slightly to his left it runs out he saw it with Lashley no line on the ball looking and reacting he has really turned the narrative

Around in the putting Department he’s 10 under in the last 15 holes think he can get four iron all the way to Ho hot here smiley I don’t I don’t either set the left side of the green look like it was good contact stay there that bunker yeah

That’s that little pot bunker we’ve got a camera planted there for a reason shuffler now with his third the LI is perfect a very simple shot this is holdable here smiley caught a chunky but it’s rolling out Smiley and it’s going to be a bir for sheffler to push it to 20

Under you know want to go in the other direction better than the alternative y it was perfect just kind of dying speed there and this incredible comeback for sheffler with a pain the neck was seven back after the 15th hole yesterday before he finished his third round

Birdie birdie birdie and look at what he’s done today go after this flag it’ll be interesting to see if he is aggressive here right at it it’s the right line for him to hit in this situation but he’ll have work for a two putt there never looked at the flag

Stick right away watch him no way you can’t feel that and that’s what we’ve seen all week not bad not bad really good punck by Scotty Sheffer to get out of here with a three and the lead yeah he doesn’t show much emotion but he’s turning inside that was absolutely what

He needed to do get it on the green happy with two putts come on Scotty show us you know that was kind of the early walk that he knew he hit a good Putt and the ball Striker extraordinaire puts it just right at the stick hole [Applause] if he ends up winning Davis Love Fred Couples Jack Nicholas more pretty good company for Scotty Sheffer who will see if 20 under is good enough saves his best for last [Applause] Unbelievable how did that not drop but skot is the 50th players champion and the first to go back to back in a half [Applause] century what a finish thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube watch another video right here

  1. The passion and dedication demonstrated by participants are palpable. It's clear that everyone here cares deeply about the topic at hand.🍭

  2. Wyndams putt. Most heartbreaking moment of 24 haha wanted a play off but I'm delighted for scotty. Class acts ❤

  3. I can relate to Whyndam’s heartbreak at 18. It’s the worst feeling when you work so hard and have to grind it out all round just to see the ball lip out at the very last hole and it winds up costing you a chance at winning. It’s just the sport of golf, it’s the hardest sport there is.

  4. Can totally relate to Clark. I had a putt to save a triple last week and it just lipped out. Devastating. Took my ⛄ and moved on to the 19th hole 🍻

  5. he played out of his mind and stole that tournament outright, what a boss. Only player to ever win back to back at the Players

  6. highlights not showing all of Scotties back nine shots… tee shot on 13 was absurd, should of been birdie, tee shots on 14 and 15 were hardest on back nine..
