2019 New Golf Rules Penalty Areas

2019 New Golf Rules Penalty Areas
This year, there are several changes for golfers who hit their ball into penalty areas.
The term ‘hazard’ is no longer used in the Rules of Golf. Committees can now use Red and Yellow Penalty Areas to mark off any area of the course. These areas can be watery graves, such as ponds and ditches. However, they can include desert wasteland, thick bushland and any area, the committee deem as avoidable for the golfer.
Of course, a player may still play out of these areas, the same as they could out of water hazards up to 2018.
Savannah and Glen take you through the changes made by the R&A and USGA and also show you the procedures you need if you decide to take a penalty drop.

Apologies for the background noise – it’s the cicadas! Summer in Aus!
