Proportions offensive line I swear to God I swear to God some account some account it was called around the NFL it said a trade of biblical proportions I was just like homie it’s a right tackle all right Richie you know what start off and tell

Us about this trade I know you want to talk to us about this trade what’s going on right tackle out of Baltimore returning to the New York Jets allegedly biblical proportions what’s going on allegedly yeah that’s idiotic but that’s what I say the reality is the Jets had

No offensive line we did not have a tackle on the roster starting level tackle so we needed to make this move I mean what is what is this guy talking about the Jets heading into you know free agency we had two starters on the offensive line and now we signed John

Simpson on Monday okay now we have three starters now we just traded for Morgan Moses we’re going somewhere we got four starters now there’s one last hole to fill and that’s left tackle so that’s a big move this is a guy who was with the Jets in 2021 he understands Robert solz

Philosophy as a head coach he knows what it’s like to be a jet he is a solid 33-year-old veteran the Jets give up just a sixth round pick and then moving back in the fourth round for a $5.5 million cap hit absolute really good move for the New York Jets this is

Somebody that’s solid he’s a former Captain when is with this time in Washington this is a guy that you can rely on in the Run game and pass protection just a solid player that the Jets need right we need to build out this offensive line is a gigantic

Weakness and this is a big move for the New York Jets I mean Jets fans are really scratching their heads thinking to themselves where is our offensive line help like we need it everyone knows that Aaron Rogers needs his help we need to get this offensive line figured out

And we did trading for Morgan Moses and the next position is going to be left tackle the question is will that be David bakari will it be Tyron Smith or will we get our left tackle in uh the NFL draft and then of course the Jets are

Still going to make a big splash at wide receiver the question is who will it be we wait and see that is inevitable the question is who so does this change your draft strategy because yesterday you were talking about how important right tackle was Moses obviously that void are

Y’all going elsewhere at number so now say say we get David bakari or say we get Tyron Smith then we could start talking about Brock Bowers then we can start talking about Brian Thomas then we can start talking about andun in terms of playmaker at that first round spot or

Even trading back is another option for the Jets at number 10 um because I would still like like as of right now getting joe Al or ALU fashanu at left tackle would be huge because we don’t have a left tackle right now Makai beckon is a free agent he’s walking he’s not coming

Back and our you know rookie last year from in the fourth round Carter Warren is slid in at left tackle right now he’s should not be our starting left tackle we’re going to fill in that void he’s a swing tackle he needs to be our backup

Heading into the season so as of right now Dan I’m still holding it down need an off to tackle a 10 but if we sign bakari or we sign Tyron Smith and we add more depth then it’s going to start with the Jets fans you’ll hear Brock Bower’s

Name you’ll hear adun you’ll hear all these Playmakers and that’s when the draft strategy will change now it’s going to be very important as well because protecting Tyrod Taylor is going to be so important as Aaron Rogers becomes vice presidential candidate for the independence ticket I was joking

Around and I was saying you know what wouldn’t that be the most Jets thing on the face of the planet and the Most Aaron Rogers thing as well meeting together rewind two years ago young little kid and so that kid that loves ice cream over at the Jets he’s like oh

Javon Holland I think that you guys probably have the best safety tandem in the league right now because I still think that Jordan puyer has quite a bit left uh wasn’t necessarily as ball hawkish as he was in years past but he’s still like a really good run Defender um

Some people might come out and say that he’s a bit of an arm tackler and so every now and again so he’s Boomer bust there’s like one or two plays where uh sometimes he does get G but for the most part dude he still has a lot a lot of

Gas left in the tank I think that he’s going to be very good down in Miami especially with him and Javon Holland to be completely honest with you I have nothing but love for puyer I hope that he continues to have a wonderful career I just hope he sucks when we play the

Buffalo Bills no no no no when we when the Bills play the Miami Dolphins I hope he has like the worst two games of his season that year but otherwise I’m wishing nothing but the best as far as San Neil incredible special teamer so special teams was anything that was a

Concern of you he’s a really solid plug-and-play special teams guy um solid depth in your secondary as well so poer um the numbers suggest he’s starting to slip in coverage um you agree with that or yeah but here’s the thing right I mean mikah Hyde was like hit or miss so

He’s large like his his play is largely determinative of who is next to him I I think with Javon Holland being next to him I think that you’re going to see a slight uptick you’re not going to get like an all pro year by any stretch of the imagination but his game is

Typically elevated as he as he’s been getting older depending on who is next to him so I think with Javon Holland being next to him you should see a pretty solidary production for the guy so in other words our secondary um our safeties are the best in the league and

Our secondary is the best um in this division pretty much so we good to go that sounds like a Super Bowl to me um but listen do you remember what we were saying the other day that safeties don’t matter but continue stop stop stop I mean who cares about safeties they don’t

Matter when you got a corner that holds on every play so that’s when they don’t matter but anyway you go your football knowledge coming to the surface acting like a [ __ ] what else is new continue my my thing with puyer is this Dan I get nervous when Buffalo wouldn’t even keep

It for $2 million okay you know Buffalo wouldn’t keep him from2 million doll unless you tried to and he didn’t didn’t want to go there he wanted to be in Miami cuz he’s good friends with Tua um I’m going to wait to see how this one turns out because the truth of the

That have played well for a long time and then right when we bring them in they start their decline it’s almost like come to Miami so you can start your retire ir and I’m hoping that’s not the case I’m hoping that we could squeeze the last good bit of juice out of the

Out of the fruit and get what we can from him I’m not really Riding High as far as high expectations but I’m gonna try to be optimistic I just I mean $2 million I don’t care how old you are that basically says you know we don’t

View you as that dude but you know you can contribute that’s what that that’s what that means to me so um time will tell um I’m just I’m going be honest I’m a little down with my team because Revelations are starting to come out all over the place with the reality

That the goal is a Super Bowl for anyone bro the goal is a Super Bowl I know there’s a lot of casual fans that just want to compete I I get all of that but everybody should at the end of the day want to win a Super Bowl and I don’t

In a whole bunch of situational players pyer can definitely help us I think more than anything he could help our offense he could help tell us what does Buffalo like to do against us what looks do they like to show you know against us and he

Can give us that inside scoop on this is our this is what we hold our hat on this is how we feel like we can confuse your quarterback and then we could build off of that so that’s what I’m hoping that he brings to the table I’ve already made

Jr you have another defensive end both of them were like top five top three in pass rush now you insert hunter in there you get Joe Mixon for literally pennies for a damn you know seventh round pick going into it Houston Texans making noise does this move the needle for them

Hoping that Bryce young can have somewhat of a credible second season Richie talk to me about them Carolina Pampers Baby teer is fed up tepper’s the owner of the Panthers he’s fed up he’s going being aggressive they landed two big guards they definitely overpaid for your boy I mean that a fiveyear hundred

Million deal is ridiculous for hunt in my opinion but they’re being aggressive they traded away DJ Moore last year and now they needed his replacement they go out there get Deontay Johnson I love that move for the Panthers the reality is this they invested a first overall

Pick in a quarterback in Bryce young who did not look good so they have to do everything they can to give him all the support give him the protection give him an offensive line give him a wide receiver they trade away Brian Burns right there’s rumors that they’re

Looking at javian Clowney to replace him I think the Panthers are doing what they have to do with without having a first pick I mean they should be picking first overall again and if they were picking first overall again they’ probably be taking Marvin Harrison Jr so right now

For them it sucks I mean I don’t know what they feel like about Bryce young if they feel like they want to I be Tak Kayla Williams if they still have I mean that’s the thing Bryce young like nobody’s looking at Bryce young as anything and it’s crazy because he was

The first overall pick we’ve seen many first overall picks as busts and he’s looking like one right now but that could change um you got to give some of these kids time I I feel like personally it’s too premature to write off anybody in the NFL after one season you got to

Give them at least two to three years to kind of figure themselves out and the Panthers got to do what they got to do to build around them so I kind of like what they’re doing they have to be aggressive they can’t be sitting on their hands and like they got to overpay

For hunt for example to come to Carolina like some of these uh small Market teams that kind of don’t have any attraction they have to pay a tax to like force big names to come to them that’s what the Panthers are doing and I think it’s

Smart for them to do it in in their current situation in a division that’s wide open by the way like the Falcons got crew cousins they should be the favorites now the buccan years are you know the division champions last year but at the same time that division is

Still wide open that’s like the worst division in football so you never know see I was just double-checking it I was seeing if Thelen was still on the roster I believe he is yeah he is he’s not a pending free agent they added Deontay Johnson out of Pittsburgh

Yesterday too so that’s going to be somewhat of a weapon still a downgrade from a DJ Moore but I suppose there’s something still have $19 million on top of it as well TD what’s the strategy what’s what is teer doing right now is there any hope for at least an

Improvement for the Panthers next year in their season this is what you call justification free agency okay um whatever moves they know that they may ultimately need to make next season in the off season they have to justify it you can’t go in with the same roster

Trying to justify why you might be moving on from your quarterback or why you might be firing the cach or why you might be moving on from the general whatever it is this is justification I’m going to bring in big names I’m gonna spend a lot of money I’m gonna bring

Some weapons in I’m gonna bring at least at least when I’m done no one will say that I didn’t at least bring in a roster that wasn’t in the top 16 in the league even if it is number 16 nobody’s going to be able to just come at me and say I

Didn’t try and I didn’t go all in didn’t make any Investments now whatever we put on the field if it’s failure then we just got the wrong people so let me move on from this quarterback that you the owner wanted so at the end of the day

This is all justification moves you know they made some people the highest paid players by far that you wouldn’t have even thought could have made that kind of money when Robert hunt was surprised I got 20 million you know I don’t know what Robert hunt thought his mark it was

But I could imagine he’s telling his family listen I’m going in a free agency because I believe I could pull 14 to 15 million a year you know if we’re lucky and this man just walked out of there with 20 million a year with a lot of

Guarantees so at the end of the day but that’s what it takes that’s what it takes especially when you’re a destination why would anyone want to go there unless you overpay so you’re just in a bad position and on top of it you got a salary cap for a reason you have

To spend some money you can’t carry it all over into the next season so that’s what they’re doing right now um they’re still not going anywhere soon yeah they’re not going anywhere soon because their issues are in that front office to begin with so um that’s what’s happening in Carolina they got
