What’s up everyone it’s Zach from the DIY golf.com and in today’s quick review I’m going to show you the orange whip what this thing is all about and how it can help you warm up before your rounds and increase your swing speed with speed training I carry this thing in my bag

Really like it and want to show you what it can do let’s jump in all right so we’ll start off with uh kind of what this is made up of so let me show you real quick the uh end of it is just a weighted orange ball okay so that’s what

Gives it that weighted feel and then it has a slight counterweight at the end of the grip and then just a normal golf grip now I want to talk about this golf grip just a little bit because I would say of the whole training aid this would

PR be my only big critique I mean you pay like 120 bucks for this thing and there’s like this tacky grip that gets thrown on I would have at least expected something like a Golf Pride um you know but what do I know uh and speaking of the price

$120 if you ask me a little bit steep for this but I have seen tons of reviews on Amazon people love this thing um and honestly from what I’ve tried out so far it is an excellent swing trainer but if you’re looking for Budget Alternatives

Um that do a very similar thing I’ll try to throw some of those kind of knockoffs in the description but once again this is a great training aid I’m going to quickly show you a few things you can do with it and the first one is is

Obviously going to be uh swing speed training so in the offseason or during the season if you were to swing this thing a 100 times every single night as fast as you can you are going to improve your driving distance by 10 to 20 yards no doubt because this really forces you

Not to just swing faster but also with good Tempo and that’s the second thing this thing does there is no possible way for you to swing this with poor Tempo because if you jerk it back it’s almost going to give you some Whiplash in your wrist so

It really forces you to feel that slow takeaway kind of pausing at the top lag in the down swing and whipping it through impact so it’s a great Tempo trainer as well as speed trainer and lastly this is a great warm-up tool so I’m going to show you a very quick

Warm-up you can do with this on the first te if you uh show up late to the course like I do very often uh and haven’t swung a club before your first t- shot so what you’ll need for this is the orange whip which once again fits in

Your bag just fine and then two short irons or wedges so I’ve got these uh the two short irons here and what I’m going to do is some arm circles so do this until you are warmed up you know forward backward both hands and then what you’re

Going to do is grip it in the middle of the shaft and rotate back and forth all right do this a couple times times now grab one of the clubs grab it by the grip do the same thing but slower and this is really going to just protect and

Warm up those small wrist muscles I injured one of them during college and gosh it was so small but I couldn’t even play golf uh so take care of those wrists and then finally we’ll do some wrist curls with both of the clubs now once you’ve gotten through that that’ll

Get you your wrist warmed up now to get the big muscles warmed up that’s where the orange whip comes in and what going to do is very simple just stand on that first t or the practice range and just back and forth good Rhythm and then gradually speed it up

Until you’re at full speed and I guarantee you that that’ll get you nice and warmed up ready to hit that first t- shot so if you like this video be sure to uh like And subscribe to the channel I’ll leave a link in the description to my full review of this

Thing and where to get it um but yeah that’s pretty much it until next time see you later hit him Straight

  1. I have been using it for years. It helps in several areas. The first thing is that it helps to get the wrists engaged and snapping through the ball. There is definitely a tendency for increased lag, which is a huge distance factor. The trainer model is long and it helps to stretch the shoulder and back muscles. It helps with syncing the legs and upper body, and this helps with balance. My suggestion is to swing the trainer smoothly and in balance every day. Don't try to swing it fast and hard. By staying in balance, swinging smoothly, and using it every day, swing speed will naturally increase. Don't force it, it just happens. The reason is that you will be swinging smoother and better. Your wrists will be looser. Then when you hit balls with your driver try to have the same mental feel and speed as with the trainer. Maybe hit 10 balls and then swing the trainer and then hit balls, etc. So that you can imprint it in your mind. This is not a quick fix. It will take weeks and maybe months to recondition your body, arms, legs, and wrists. It depends on how poor your swing is to start. I highly recommend this trainer to starting junior players. They can get started with proper fundamentals. They can learn how to hit the ball far and well with that nice, easy-looking swing.

  2. Random q, what stand bag do you have that fits this? My jones r trouper barely fits 14 clubs let alone training aids and alignment sticks. Looking for an upgrade

  3. I bought a similar swing trainer device and I absolutely love it. I introduced to many of my golfer friends who need better tempo and need to use their legs and body. Like you said, it forces you to have good tempo because of its flexibility. The heavy ball at the end really emphasizes feeling the clubhead instead of swinging the club like a baseball bat. My only regret is I didn't get it sooner.
