PGA Tour Tip: Brian Harman Inspired Golf Lesson

In this video, you’ll see Brian Harman working on his backswing & downswing by simply turning and setting the club into a good takeaway position and returning the club on the downswing into the same position while blending in some body turn. I used a very similar feel with my student, Ed, which helped us fix Ed’s across the line and flying right elbow at the top. To add, I do mean “similar” because I had Ed feel a more exaggerated “internal trail elbow” position (tucked) along with a “connected” body turn feel on the backswing and through swing. Hope this video helps others tackle their own swing issues. Happy Golfing! ⛳️

I’m not lifting I’m not moving all I’m doing is turning and then I’ll put this hand on the club there and now I’m I’m right where I need to be that club’s going right through my hands that’s right where it’s supposed to be yep right and so from there now I’m just

Rotating to the top that’s your back swing right and now on the way down I’m trying to get my hands just inside the ball but so here let me put a let me put Club down on my target line so I can explain exactly it’s all right

So so the keys here are I’m here yep I put my hand this is this is just what I’m working on my golf swing y I’m not worried about results now that’s what I’m wor that’s what I want to know okay so I’m I’m here now I’m here and now I

Just turn to the top now coming down I want my hands out in front of my body right Y and when it’s perking you know right parall to the ground was again y parallel to the ground now I just give it to my hips yeah hips go everything

Else goes that club goes that way and that’s as hard as I can hit it so I’d like you to demonstrate that again I want you to do it maybe in a in a piece with both hands on just so you sort of go there and then show me right

So so so so for me you I it’s here like parallel then then I’m going just turn it around yeah and now I’m back down so this club is parallel with that one but but my hands are inside the ball Y and now from here it’s just how hard can I

Turn it how hard can I keep it going this way and you manag the handle very well over there here mhm you can kind of lift the club set the elbow early kind of so kind of set the elbow there mhm and if you just kind

Of turn to the top like that you just kept that there the whole time and then came down and SW it from there okay that’ be like another way to work on this y pivot to the top maintain it okay so it just kind of gives you that

Feeling like okay I can’t cross this up from here you know I the elbow is
