Continuity today we’re going to draft a team in Underdog’s big board we’re going to talk about continuity as we go and of course I am already in a big board draft and it does look like we have not a lot of regulars in here I see who your dvo

In here though um is that the same whoer dvo as ours I I would assume there’s one who your dvo I know but we are of course in Underdog draft rooms golden day is going to be drafts of rookies drafts of free agents to talk about it all along

The way here and it does look like it is not a heavy regular Draft today so should give us a pristine look at the world of Underdog drafts here in the Big Board 200k to first place in this one and I am dealing with my my fourth sore

Fourth sore throat in a in a month span so bear with me we are picking up the two- hole here we did ZB Friday on Friday so let’s go Christian mcaffry here today well we’ll praise some running backs bright and early on you want to talk about continuity uh the one

Thing you have to give the Niners credit for there is a shot that Brandon I forc his way out of town he is in a year where uh this is going to be a spot where he can force trade out where they have to ask or his agents rather his

Reps have to ask for a long-term contract Niners probably don’t want to give it up they’re about as capped out as any team in the league so for aay he could come back on a one year on that option year uh getting paid I think like

18 mil maybe 15 18 mil somewhere in that range or he can force his way out and get that big 130 mil 15 50 mil 180 mil extension that a guy like iek would get uh but I think no matter what for mcaffrey the continuity being there for

Him uh he’s getting old that’s certainly a risk point but if you’re G to take a trade-off here being an offense where we know a guy is gonna be getting you know five Red Zone opportunities a game a guy’s gonna be getting over 20 overall opportunities a game Christian mcaffry

Is probably the biggest Testament to continuity here even though I put up Mike Evans on the thumbnail I think we’re g to talk about continuity Christian mcaffrey is probably as good an example of continuity and keeping that in place and how it just makes these guys more predictable year to year

So for mcaffry heading into year three of him being on the Niners I guess year two and a half if you want to count for him not being on the team for that first part of last year or I guess the year before last where he was traded uh we’re

Now getting into you know him having full run of the offense full opportunity full understanding of what to do I think that’s a positive thing for mcaffrey if I’m gonna take him here at the two- Hole uh fried baloney sandwich you’re having a tough time on Underdog I didn’t

Think for Baker he’s in a good situation he’s appropriately valued he’s got all the leash in the world uh where they’re not going to take the job away from him because they’re paying him too much money and he’s got guys that I think he he gave a second win to like Mike Evans

You gave him the wrong QB going from Tom Brady that could have gone really badly if you gave him Bryce young last year it would have been a really ugly situation for Mike Evans where he just would have not been getting the ball would have had under a thousand yards it would have

Been a terrible scene but they got Baker made at work so I think for both those guys they’re probably um again two of the safer parts that like I don’t think it’s gonna get a lot worse I they’re gonna be in the NFC title game next year

But I don’t think it’s going to get a lot worse AR maaf just sound so lovey yeah I mean we’ll see hard to expect AR to come back to me in any room but I’ll figure it out I thought I was pulling the Pitman trigger yes I that’s possible

Look I don’t mind Pitman I think I have enough concern that the Colts bring in somebody else there that can be an alpha Target earner if they bring in a Brian Thomas and he’s a guy who comes outside and replaces Alec Pierce who takes a lot

Of work away from Alec Pierce that’s not good if they bring in Brock Bowers that’s another thing that’s probably not good for Michael Pitman especially because Bowers and Pitman work a lot in the same range being those kind of lower a DOT guys so

I I I like Pitman still I don’t have an issue with him he’s going to be back there whether it’s on the franchise tag or them figuring out a long-term deal um but I think for Pitman it’s just I think they’re going to do some things that

Cooper when Cooper should be going the opposite way is the best way to dig out of a botal early RB start uh Cooper to me I think should probably with Judy being there just how markets work he should probably be down to 4950 range um because like that’s that’s a big that’s

Like a big thing to happen adding him still having Elijah Moore still having David and joku still having the running backs there Nick chub probably gonna be out on the pup list for a little bit but you’re going to get him back at some point until then you have Jerome Ford

And it’s also going to be Deshawn running a few more times a game dropping back a few less than Joe Flaco did so there’s a lot of things there that I don’t think should be reaching for Amari Cooper right now personally like I get it but I just don’t think that’s the

Move um I talked about a lot here and this is gonna be the opposite of continuity but I think Terry mclen is a solid pick again at this range uh Tera McClaren gonna benefit if it’s Drake May if it’s Jaden Daniels to me I think Terry mclen should be in the mid

40s I think he should be ahead I think he’s going to end up ahead of Reed no dun I guess practically I don’t know that he should be ahead of them but I think he should be at this 47 range like I I would put him above these

Running backs here mclen this is the best shot for him to take a leap here he’s already got a contract like a superstar receiver now is time to pay that off um and frankly I like this contract this team where we have mcaffrey very solid base at running back

And a a very high potential of alternating Spike weeks here at receiver to start and some floor as well for these guys too all right 0130 here maccaffrey Evans tank mclen could go get Addison wide receiver is going to get very ugly very fast coming up could take another running back could

Take Mark Andrews lean on the continuity there in Baltimore could also just shoot for the moon here take Anthony Richardson instead of CJ Stroud I think most people here would have strad with tank Dell I’ll go AR for the sheer floor at the position and the

Shear ceiling so my team so far not stacked up yet Anthony Richardson Christian mcaffrey Mike Evans tank Dell Terry mclen guys I was considering taking here included Mark Andrews think that would been an okay pick stad would have been okay with tank Dell um didn’t really want any of the running backs

Given that we have mcaffrey was thinking about coming up and getting Brian Thomas but I think that would have been a little bit of a reach Brian Thomas would be a good wide receiver four for this team but probably not a pick 50 here we go

Uh still like Amari Judy will be hurt by week two Judy wasn’t hurt at all last year he just sucked but he wasn’t hurt uh when you say reach does that mean based on how you value a player based on the market ADP Market ADP um even though

Like I you should be again I’m the I’m the nth loosest drafter out of all the 150 matches according to our guy brick 75 Brian Hooper’s data from BBM last year so I’m certainly not opposed to reaching here in there but if you keep doing it over and over again especially

At one position you’re just putting yourself in a pocket with teams that got these guys’ values so like when you take Drake London and Amari Cooper Drake London in the big board was going in the late 30s early 40s for large portions of the draft Amari was going in the mid-

40s to 50s in large portion of the draft and now these guys have well especially for cooper cooper now has bad signal for him where you added another body in there who’s going to take targets away from him whatever you want to say about Judy it’s a much bigger upgrade than

Cedric Tilman than David Bell and these guys were rotating in last year so like you’re then taking Cooper at a higher point when he should be going the wrong way that’s what I’m talking about like you’re making a couple things a couple compounding mistakes there that are

Making your team more likely to get duped with guys who are get who got drafted later like that’s that’s sort of the thing where are you comfortable taking Pickins now what is his current ADP ADP is 61 I mean the trade of Deontay Johnson would be good for him I guess the thing

You could sort of critique about that would be if they trade Deontay Johnson George Pickins is just uh you know Drake London last year in Atlanta offense that was not that good with Arthur Smith that we do believe on this Channel The Hope is that Arthur Smith being able to focus

Just on being offensive coordinator some guys aren’t meant to be the CEO of a team some guys are meant to just be a guy who’s a part of that um I think that for Arthur Smith that’s the hope but for Pickins it seems like the best outcome

Is literally him being Drake London last year and that’s I think he’s probably okay in the 60s uh but you’re kind of paying a premium like you’re already paying the assumption that Deontay is not there I feel like for him in the 60s and I like pickings I like a lot

Like talent wise you guys know pcks was one of my big guys last year he and Christian Watson I would say that both showed enough to justify why I backed them last year uh Pickins in particular on the home stretch was a guy that actually did you know win I think he was

On the BBM winner team with our guy fared um so for Pickins I think that he showed a good amount last year it’s just like this is another bad run out for him um I also think too while we’re talking about the Steelers so people are going

To now like Crown Russell Wilson the starter in Pittsburgh he’s coming in on a one-year minimum deal this is the kind of thing that a team like Pittsburgh who has the same front office who drafted Kenny picket has the same head coaching staff not the entire coaching staff but

Has the same head coach who drafted Kenny picket I think they’re bringing up bringing in Russell Wilson as a potential Fall Guy for Kenny picket where you show like oh like he beat out picket beat out Russell Wilson in Camp and he looked so good and like he tried

To keep him going again because you have to remember last year all the offseason talk was how much this team like Kenny picket how great of a guy he was how great of a locker room leader he was then it all went to shit over the course

Of a year but like they know you know they fired mat Canada I think the blame is firmly At His Feet I just don’t think this Russ thing like I wouldn’t draft Russ and go and put him in Pittsburgh Stacks I frankly probably wouldn’t even draft Pittsburgh QB if I have Pickins if

I have fouth I would avoid the Pittsburgh situation for now like there’s a shot that Russ could be a baker Mayfield there’s also a shot that picket I don’t think he’s gonna be good no matter what next year I guess this shot would be like he can be you know a

High teens scoring QB Maybe into the 20s like Desmond Ritter was occasionally last year but he’s not as mobile as Ritter and Ritter kind of got there with a rushing touchdown occasionally a little bit of rushing yardage occasionally so I don’t know I just think the Pittsburgh outcomes are not

Great overall for really all these guys he’s an undervalued 1100 yard receiver on the 31st ranked offense have to imagine Russ is an upgrade but that’s assuming in that Russ is going to be the upgrade and like with what they’re paying him you I don’t think you can assume that uh 1130

Here could really just think that we can get ahead at wide receiver by taking Christian Watson as my wide receiver four obviously Watson if he comes up an ADP I think we’re starting to feel a little bit less great about him the Watson to me still showed enough last

Year he is still the biggest most athletic guy in that wide receiving room I think that matters and another year of experience we’re now heading into year three for him that also matters to me in terms of how I’m valuing guys so 11 140 here we’ve got this bet on Green Bay

Aaron Jones now a bit of a discount could also reach up at wide receiver though that’s getting kind of ugly as well just going to take the value on Aaron Jones here Christian mcaffrey Aaron Jones start I don’t mind at QB we’re getting Anthony Rich at QB Christian mcaffrey

Aaron Jones at running back Mike Evans tank Dell Terry mclen and Christian Watson a wide receiver and a tight end I do feel like this wide receiver room suffered a little bit from that first round pick being Christian mcaffrey still don’t mind it though think we got good upside for taking four wide

Receivers after the first round and then having one more deviation for AR so I can live with the room could be better Russ is trying to get a baker contract so Russ’s thing was that initially he was willing to take that minimum offer because he thought that

Would guarantee him a starting job but he’s not getting guaranteed a starting job and there’s been a lot of signal obviously the Steelers immediately went against it by bringing Russ in and then signing him but like there’s been a lot of signal that they were going to be

Happy to go back into next year with Kenny picket with Mason Rudolph and have those guys compete and now I I just don’t think that changed and that was from like Pittsburgh beat guys that wasn’t from like National people who maybe aren’t as dialed in so I kind of

Think I I just really think that they’re bringing Russ in as like elevated Mason Rudolph and these guys are going to compete and I still think there is a HomeField Advantage for Kenny picket because all the guys who drafted him are still there like they they don’t want to
