Connecticut tomorrow where they will be a pretty sizable Underdog yes they will in that game uh colon state is really messing around with San Jose State right now at Mount West 4745 with eight and a half to go Colorado State close to 15-point favorite 14 and a half at some

Shops if you want to put yourselves on the bubble you lose this game if you’re Colorado State so uh got about eight minutes to figure it out against a team that has not been good at all this year in San Jose State uh one automatic bid

On the line at the moment MCN all over Nicholls in the Battle of schools that used to have the word State at the end of their abbreviation in Louisiana MCN a projected 13 or 12 seed will Wade Squad former coach of LSU of course now the coach of MCN um just pummeled everyone

In that League all year long they were a gigantic favorite today and they look like they’re well on their way to going to the NCAA tournament so uh there are a few non big leagues titles later today as well we’ll get to the Patriot League final in a little bit but we begin

Ruckers in Maryland I I feel like we just talked about these two teams at length over the weekend uh this is the first round in the Big 10 tournament ruter and the TPS TPS four-o favorites at the moment 125 and a half all right total that low

Redur fourth in the country and Maryland 12th so nothing for me in this one but I I mean even at 125 and a half Jeff I still think under would be the smarter play I really want to take Ruckers on the money line I just can’t get there I

Mean neither of these teams are any good that’s why they’re playing in a 12v 13 game in the Big 10 tournament in Minneapolis uh later here today all right you know we’ll keep it in the Big 10 just get this game out of the way quick because I don’t really have much

Of an interest in it but it’s a power conference game Michigan uh in this one to 14 seed Dreadful year taking on Penn State uh the 11 seed in this one Penn stayed up to seven and a half against the Michigan wol Marin open at 6 and A2 total 150

A2 or 150 and a 150 and2 there is a lot of 150 on this game I would only lean to the favored Penn State and Indi lions in this game but you’re paying a premium because this open five and a half yeah you are paying a premium here that’s why

I went ahead and put Penn State on a moneyline parlay tied them up with Texas because I’m also fading Kansas State being away from home here so wanted to figure out a way to fade Michigan and they have been absolutely terrible this year they are the worst defense in this

Conf confence by a big margin so I think Penn State will take care of business here but that number was just a little bit too high for me to lay game that’s uh going to be starting at the top of the next hour in ACC land known as Washington DC this

Week North Carolina State struggled but got it done against Louisville by the way fired Kenny Payne this morning no shock there uh after two years of uh for lack of a better word word putting the the uh program in actual hell over the last two years with 15 wins in two

Seasons uh expect Scott drew to be the uh the name that’s talked about a lot for that job uh uh right now I don’t know if he should take it or not different discussion for a different day wow Syracuse one and a half there’s some one out there there’s some two out there

151 and a half on this one we’ve talked about Syracuse being sort of a lockbox in this run where they got hot actually own the four seed in the conference tournament going into the final three games of the regular season they fell to seven NC State’s really not any good I

Would lean to the orange in this game I I just more of a fate of NC State who played yesterday and is really not overly impressive and more likely to not without their best player for the second consecutive day so I didn’t do anything but I was leaning more to the dog here

Um better offense than Syracuse but you’re right if you’re looking for the better defensive team then you go with the orange what about that total Jeff I think that’s a little bit low for these two teams um especially Syracuse relatively fastpac both of them have trended to the over all year long NC

State 18 and 12 on the year and then Syracuse 18 and 13 to the over 5 and0 to the over in their last five games going into this one so 151 and a half that seems a little low to me I would also look to the over in this

One which is I I talked about this got some overs that I like today this is a one I bet are you okay the Frank inhibit your brain I swear I think it was Monday I told Matt I’m trying to stay away from overs in the tournament and then today I

To have to watch Virginia again after tomorrow so Clemson and the money line harlay I’ll figure out the dance partner by the end of the show and I can tell you right now I’m betting Clemson tomorrow against Virginia if we get that match up so if they lose their first

Game you think that they are out Clemson no Virginia because they are on right I think they should be Clon Clemson by the way is safely in right now Clemson is going to be either a five or six seed in the NCAA tournament Virginia glenard had

Him in the first four okay uh I I don’t see it I I don’t think their resume is good enough and especially if they lose to Clemson shouldn’t be enough to get in if they beat Clemson they’re going to get in right if they don’t beat them I

Don’t see it so this is one that I was looking at the under actually at 145 and a half here um made it a little bit lower 141 but Trends are a little tricky these two both just 10 and 10 over under in conference play this year not much

That we can make with the pace they’re both very average here um but yeah nothing for me on the side I think that number is right I think Seven’s a little high made it six and a half but yeah not no strong opinion for me on this one

Going to Big 12 my fate of BYU worked great today Alex and by great not at all uh TCU won and covered against Oklahoma even though that game got much tighter than it needed to be you got there on the total if you bet it over by two

Points uh in the end but we’ll start with Kansas State at Texas and this is my favorite Underdog of the evening I like Kansas State and forget the points we like them outright in this game so we talk about this we’ve talked about this tournament a lot leading up to it uh and

In the second game that we’ll get to later we have to throw out all the handicaps because Kansas is without two of their three best players tonight but for Kansas State five 143 on a total there will be a lot of purple and they’ll be more purple than orange and

The Kansas fans will be coming in late I don’t know what way they’ll probably rooted I probably root for no one in all honesty with Texas leaving the league and K State being their biggest Inc conference rival uh cu of the sunflower Showdown and such but Kansas State needs these games

Texas doesn’t and getting five I thought this should have come three maybe even two and a half give a point for home court as well for K State so I’ll very happily take the five plus 180 plus 190 on the money line I think that’s good to take a dart

On I do like that angle with which team is really motivated who needs this for their future especially with the tournament coming up but I just could get there with Kansas State they are so much better at home you’re saying there’s going to be a lot of fans still

Won’t really be their home court um and I just think Texas is so talented we watched a few games I mean they were killing Baylor and then they let Baylor come back and and win that one but they are so talented they have the pieces there they just um been a little

Inconsistent this year I was very surprised to see the um Kansas State they shock me every time I look it up but 19th best defense and then we’ve got Texas over here 20 adjusted offense efficiency in Ken Palm so it’s little bit of um opposite here and I’m going

With the offense in this one Texas is still good defensively as well 54 on kenpom so I just went money line I tied that one up with a my Penn State but okay yeah going to the late game Kansas no Hunter Dickinson no Kevin mcculler they are an in a sentence I

Never thought I would utter they are an underdog in the big 12 tournament to Cincinnati at the game in Kansas City and quite frankly I think the line is right this open one and a half it’s been bet up the three that one and a half I thought was more correct than the

Current number that the betters have taken it to I it really even with even with the players out it is going to take a lot for me not to money on Kansas in this spot against a team that played yesterday had to exhaust a ton of energy

To come back and beat West Virginia they were down 15 Cincinnati in the second half came back one that game um but I’m not sure how Kansas can win a game against a real team in Cincinnati even though they’re not an NCA tournament team they are a real team I’m not sure

How you can expect them to win a game down two of their three best players their best player in Dickinson and maybe even their two best players depending on what you think of the rest of the roster but it’s Kansas and Kansas City it’s hard to bet against especially well

Again if they Advance they’re going to be a huge dog against Bor tomorrow andc correctly so it would be Kansas or pass but it is there are so many reasons to not bet it but then it’s like oh it’s Kansas and Kansas City how can we not do it well so

I did ask my dad he has both those players being worth about four points to the line so I’m with you I do think this move Cincinnati minus three is is correct here without with missing those two players another thing that made me nervous Jeff is looking at CBB analytics

Kansas is the bottom of the Big 12 in offensive rebounding and that is with Dickinson in all year long they also have the most paint paint points per game but now that has a lot to do with Dickinson as well so one problem that they already were struggling without

Their best offensive rebounder and getting those paint points without their best shooter down low so I’m going to stay away from this one I I think Cincinnati should be the favorite but I do understand uh how tempting it is to get plus money with Kansas on the money

Line let’s go to the Big East Providence George down third time for Ed KY against his former Squad Providence won both games in the regular season Providence is 9 and a half this was double digits overnight I thought that was pretty good on Georgetown Market agreed with that

Taking this down to the nine and a half after seeing some 10 and a halfs early total 141 a half Alex I still like Georgetown still like him plus the points uh they can play this game within single digits I’m not saying they’re going to win the game out right you see

That giant money line price that’s correct for a reason but I’m not buying this Providence team and now they’re in the camp of only bad things can happen to them bubble wise if they lose this game if they lose they’re done totally finished if they were to get upset

Tonight by Georgetown if they win they give themselves a shot they would play kadon tomorrow if they were to win Providence and a win over Katon probably pushes them at least closer to the cut line maybe even above the cut line and getting them in uh but tonight I don’t

Think it’s going to be as easy as as people think I I I think this is a tight game Georgetown covers the number I’m on him tonight at that nine and a half well Jee you know I mean I know you love dep Paul we all know you love dep Paul we

Got we’re getting we’re going to get to them before Danny Burke don’t worry well uh Georgetown is only better than depal offensively and defensively in this conference so they have been struggling this year I didn’t do anything here I think that number is just right at nine

Five plus one team in the country by a wide margin this year they are 24 and a half Point underdogs against Villanova with a total of 136 Alex are we laying the lumber with the wild cats no I’m not I’m are you bet the total though I bet

The total we are going under that 136 and a half I mean we don’t have to tell you much about deple and their offensive struggles here so I’m not expecting many points from them Villanova very good 14 the gested defense efficiency on kenpom they are 9 and one to the under in their

Last 10 holding teams to an average of 59.5 points in those games I don’t even expect aul to get to 59 in this one Jeff so I think we’re good going under 136 and a half all right did you lay it though I did not are you taking the

Points no you’re tempted no I’m not you know so I will say we talked about it on Saturday ceden Hall that was a game that got steamed it was 22 and a half then it got all the way to 25 and a half I seen all won by 24 so number dependent on

That one right uh regardless of what it was uh I just can’t bring myself to do there are better dog opportunities like georgetown’s a much better dog opportunity in the Big East tonight and we’ll also get one other dog a little bit later as well that I I I really do

Recommending to people you go run out there and do it it’s just if I were going to play the Futures and more so I’m doing the Futures record rationally as opposed to where game by game is where I’m going to take it more seriously it doesn’t mean that I’m not

Taking this seriously just where I think there is good value and you can hold me accountable for the first one Jeff and Alex but Nebraska out here I saw 10 to one and even at plus 750 I don’t think it’s the worst one to take a stab at I

Mean if this team can catch fire we know what they’re capable of one of the best offenses in the Big 10 and they can counter it with a very strong defense and a lot of that kind of grit camaraderie can rally around the coach’s son Sam hyberg I mean when he goes on

The floor he brings that energy uh Joan Gary coming back from injury has been a huge boost and obviously we know what tomaga can do if he catches fire from Deep so this team has the weapons it’s just can they play in some kind of normal fashion away from Pinnacle Bank

Arena so we know that they’re not going to have home court in the go is going to be the only team that does right but I I I still think because of its uniqueness being not completely the opponent’s home court advantage that they will be able

To manage and we did see them finally get some Road victories toward the end of the year so I think Nebraska if you can get plus 750 or better is worth a flyer because look realistically you’re going to go against Penn State or IND Indiana all right I like my chances with

The Huskers there for their first meeting and afterwards I know people are looking at the Buckey as a long shot Nebraska fell victim to them on the road but if it’s going to be Illinois remember that matchup they had in Champagne earlier this year Nebraska easily I don’t want to say easily but

They definitely could have won that game the refs were kind of against them there it was a tough road spot they ended up falling victim in overtime I could see Nebraska overcoming them in this situation you find a spot with them in the championship there and then you’re

Sitting on a plus 750 money line ticket depending on who they go against in the championship spot so I like Nebraska as a potential play the other one and I’ve seen it as high as 17 to1 still like it at 15 to1 and again feel free to talk me

Out of this one guys I know it’s a harder path here but Northwestern I I feel like they have a good enough defense to keep them in games and when you have a star type of player like Bo buy all it takes is a couple of games

For him to go off keep them competitive along with some of the other offensive threats they have to overcome a team like Wisconsin if it’s going to be the Badgers they face they lost a close one in Madison a little bit earlier if it’s them and Purdue both games they played

Went to overtime the last one didn’t end so nicely between the head coach and the referee so that’s a little bit of a Revenge angle for the Wildcats and imagine if you’re sitting then potentially on a 15 to1 ticket with Northwestern so I think it’s two solid

Teams who are capable of Catching Fire here nice with the buys going into this tournament and some juicy prices that if they win that first game certainly not going to be there afterwards and I think they have a very good chance at doing so so those are the two teams I would look

At for the Futures but again let me know if you guys disagree or whatnot so uh I’ll I’ll get to Nebraska in a second if I if if Matthew Nicholson Northwestern Center is healthy I think there is absolutely a path the problem is if he’s not healthy then they have no shot of

Beating Purdue if that’s the matchup because all then then they’re they’re on their backup bigs who really aren’t that good and and for whatever reason Northwestern you mentioned it I mean both games went to overtime they we the only team that came even remotely close to beating them in Mackey this year so

Uh there’s that Nebraska you know it’s kind of funny if if we’re going to the bottom of the bracket I actually don’t mind Indiana at that obscene price again I’m not saying Indiana is going to win the conference tournament we’re getting 75 to one uh where they’re probably

Going to handle their business uh against the winner of tonight’s game at Penn State in Michigan even though I know Penn State beat him a few weeks ago but that game wasn’t at in uh Happy Valley uh at Bryce Jordan uh but Nebraska you mention my concern with

Nebraska is they can’t win away from Pinnacle Bank so if they I mean Jeff realistically it’s they either get completely embarrassed or they could make their way to the championship it seems like there’s no right between all look and also too the biggest thing in

The end is for for all these team is Purdue and Illinois are just significantly better than everyone else in this league when it’s all said and done just the way that it is uh Purdue I don’t really love Purdue at even if you wanted to go Chuck okay uh Illinois I

Want a three to one if you can get that somewhere I would consider doing that problem with the line I as we know Alex their defense has been a mass of times this year yes very good offensively but I will say I mean Purdue they won their conference tournament last year and then

We saw what happened to them in that first round of the tournament so I don’t think they’re going to throw the Big 10 tournament here but it might not be as high of a priority for them agreed yeah Alex I’m the same way with you there too and almost instead of

Looking at Purdue even money I mean this team in these bigger stages we know tend to play a little bit closer to their competition heck even through a lot of spurts in this regular season if you really like the boiler makers that much because they’re only even money I would

Just watch every game pay attention wait to see if you can get an in-game number on them so you could win the bet on an individual basis and still try to get some decent value with them but I I like your line of thinking I mean they got

Their sight set on broader Horizons after what happened last year in the tournament so I like what you’re thinking there Danny I I just want to ask you one other question college hoops wise before we shift to the end NBA obviously there are a ton of games this

Week there obviously the big dance starts next week how do you handle when you hop in this late in the game on college hoops how do you handle betting these conference tournaments or obviously next week when the whole shebang starts yeah with these conference tournaments I think what you or rather

What a lot of recreational betters have to keep in mind is that as we all know obviously this is a time for underdogs to come through but with that being said you have to take out a little bit of the recency bias yes you want to Target some

Teams who have caught a hot streak to a certain degree but just because a team may have won their last couple of games doesn’t mean it’s going to automatically translate over into the mix here I mean take the Big 10 for example a team like Ohio state has been on everybody’s radar

But if they were to lose in that first match up against Iowa a team that really doesn’t play defense but great offense it’s not going to be that shocking so don’t get too emotionally invested in a team that’s been doing well and then all of a sudden be so surprised when they

Fall short we see it happen all the time now again that still could open the door for a team in the Big 10 tournament to make a little bit of a run we kind of saw that with Ohio State last year so things like that where you absolutely

Have to take recency bi out of the uh out of the matter and something that I like to do too and again it’s not saying that people don’t do this but really look deeper into the stats of the kind of nitty-gritty stuff the the non flashy material like grabbing boards and

Limiting the fouls and having success at the free throw line people of course like to look at how many points are you averaging how many are you giving up three point success Etc yes all important but what it really comes down to is what kids can you trust to do the

Simple things right when we’re sitting on our couch going how can you not do that I could do that realistically not but when you’re playing in your driveway you think you can so it’s those things that separate these small finite lines that really come out and end up being

The big Difference Maker so make sure you dive into those Patricks as well very good Danny all right let’s go to the NBA I’m excited I got to skip to this one Jeff because I love your prop bets and you’re looking at something in the Warriors Mavs game um what are you

Looking at in this one yeah so as we know the Warriors is going to be without Steph Curry once again and I think that’s a green light as we’ve seen a couple times now for his backup Chris Paul the 38-year-old in the last two games has actually taken the

Most field goal attempts in that two game span compared to any any other stretch this season he’s taken 28 shots over the last two games it was both against the San Antonio Spurs they had that weird scheduling spot where they went back to back against them but in

That game against the Bulls where Steph Curry got injured Chris Paul dropped 15 and then he had 10 against San Antonio and then 19 but the point I’m getting to is that without Steph Curry In the Mix somebody else has to conduct this offense somebody else has to step up and

If you’ve watched a lot of Warriors games when Steph Curry has been involved the way Chris Paul is playing is very reserved right he’s very conservative he’s doing the pick and roll but more so looking to set up his teammates and he’s done that a lot in his career in the

Past but he also used to take a lot more mid-range action than we’ve seen But now that has to be Amplified because of the absence of one Steph Curry and we’ve already seen that happen the past couple of games tonight he’s got a favorable match up against the below average

Defense the Mavericks 20th and defensive points for 100 possessions allowed 19th and effective field goal percentage Chris Paul majority of his shots coming from mid-range coming from three-point land the Mavericks are a little bit below average in both of those categories I won’t borry too much with

Should be in but they will be uh when we’re dealing with a team like St Mary’s in this era of college basketball because they’re very different than a lot of these high-end teams they’re veteran leaden mhm they again well coached is a common thing but we know Randy Bennett’s awesome y took that

Program from nothing to being a perennial NCA tournament Team every year just looking at it in this day and age with the lack of teams that are veteran Laden how do you eyeball a team like St Mary’s for potential pricing in in in G in ear in early round games or even

Second round games because of course last year we saw them win a game and then lose to Yukon in the round of 32 uh good question and it’s about the body of work though right and and knowing that all the aspects that you said what’s their style of play also

They like to slow it down very deliberate uh which is not very popular these days but um uh not as much motion as the old Princeton teams but certainly that deliberate style and it suits them well and and teams have to adjust they make teams adjust to them to their game

That’s that’s what made them so successful now can that carry over in the NCAA tournament I mean think about this let’s say they meet a team like Alabama or a team like Kentucky a little different now now you you talk about a clash of of wills and styles uh who

Dictates that and and how does it how does it play out but I think the key factor factors that you pointed out Jee are the coach the coaching and the veteran uh the veteran Squad let’s say they do go up against a team like like Kentucky which you know rolls five or six

To the factors that have made them so successful and that got them uh as far as they got in the season and then winning uh the West Coast Conference tournament on a neutral court against a team that’s really you know those are the two teams that dominated the have

Dominated this conference in recent years um but also beating Gonzaga when Gonzaga was playing really good lately let’s face it Gonzaga had a good start um they were mediocre uh for a good part of the season but then they they came alive here particularly in the last five

Weeks and did a great job so uh credit goes to St Mary’s and I mean listen they’re going to they’re they’re going to be a tough oppon opponent for anybody especially uh with with the way they have the ability in most cases uh to uh to to dictate Pace to beat them you’ve

Got to force them out of their really true Rhythm so it was a good game though and you’re right about these two dominating in that conference the night before they both won and covered easily against the next two best teams Santa Clair and San Francisco but yeah so um it’s funny they

Split the regular season so you knew they were both going to be very hungry in that game that’s why I stayed away but I was very happy when St Mary’s got the win yeah no and and they deserved it they uh they did they did a great job

The other comment denominator last night the refs were awful in that game truly and utterly awful in that game I know uh well and well look I mean there were times both way I was going to say it wasn’t like was it wasn’t it wasn’t one

Way or it was Bol down the line just both teams got equally were you know when there’s a game and here and here’s what you’re here’s the way I saw it Jeff to and let me know if you agree it’s not like the refs cost either team or cost

Again looking at the both of these games tonight right in the SEC you know this one that you mentioned and of course uh uh Missouri and Georgia Georgia they did take the three with with Y Alma mat Jeff and we’re down to two and a half so um

But look these teams you know there these are coaches that are saying listen we we have we’re here because we have and we have to win we’re you know if we’re going to play next week in the NCAA tournament these are games that we

Have to have and and have a a great rest of the week otherwise you know we’re going to be in a secondary secondary tournament I mean that’s the reality of it so you know um it’s you know this is this is the first day of the season for

You know that’s they’re going you’re going to hear a lot of those speeches in the locker rooms oh yeah but for for betters uh for us again you know you break it down you look at the matchup I certainly you know and I know Chris feels this way too you don’t get

Caught up in in you know what you know what what you’re hearing and what you watch stick with your numbers and you know you you’ve come this far and as handicapp as Alex you’re not really you’re doing the same thing right you’re looking at it and saying well listen I

Offensively but the last time they played argeta they shot 50% from the field um and in their last five games they’re averaging 73 and allowing 81 so not much defense from them as well so hoping for a high scoring game yeah to your point um you know and you put you

Know was a good number um hasn’t moved that much but you know I think we’ll definitely need it under there’s going to be a propensity to bet this game under very much because of the lack of defensive uh prowess by either one of these

Teams I want to look at one other uh one other game in the Mountain West uh that’s going to be starting soon New Mexico right squarely on the bubble right now they need to not lose this game tonight against Air Force a team who has already beaten them once this

Year correct in the pit and quite frankly that result is the main reason New Mexico Fight around the bubble right in this position if they just handled their business at home they’d be fine 15 behind us on this game we just saw Colorado State as a 14 and Half Point

Favored not ever really come close to covering that number they won by 10 but never really was a doubt if you had San Jose State yeah um good point and the underdog Fresno won outright against Wyoming somehow Wyoming blew that game in the last five minutes against the

Bulldogs doggies are barking over at Thomas and Mack on the UNLV campus uh so yeah they did Lay the 14 with with New Mexico here and I think it’s be for the reasons you said right I mean first of all um the fact that New Mexico did lose

To Air Force in the pit which is which is you know it’s let’s face it the pits a difficult uh difficult venue for for the visitors um Colorado state did Cover l they covered they made their free throws late I mean it was a three uh it

Are going to qualify right well you know what there’s 20 30 teams on on the bubbles right to fill in uh the rest of the uh the 14 or the the 18 spots right to to to get to get the the right to to get selected you know even for the playin

Better number um but if you also like cal plus two you’re probably sprinkling a portion on the money line right so um yeah I mean it’s it’s basically a pick them game particularly in baskets where it’s uh under three or four so um anytime that you’re looking at taking

The points and again is a figure to be a close game yeah but if you like the team to cover a bucket then uh you think they can win the game as well so um but yeah this one here and again you you look at SC and Washington earlier um you know
