The situation for the upcoming year for the monan under contract for the season 2024 and 2025 I understand you can tell me wait Co he’s going to make some modification but before that we need to look about the M Canan Prospect as a forward what effect Joshua was going to
Start the season with montal so that’s great I don’t see any other players Owen Beck Philip Mazar Sean farell Kenan any other players and the M Prospect they have as the forward I don’t see them with a M next season that’s a fact as the defenseman could have some change

Coach we will have to continue our rebuild, you have to get worse before you get better. That means trading away expiring players for assets and waiting until our longer contracts expire. Until then, we have to develop the players we have and add to our draft/prospect pool. One good thing is that we will be weaponizing our cap space for MORE asset management. I feel like we will be a bottom 10 team again this year, but don’t be surprised if we finish bottom 5 because we have no more allen to steal a game here and there.
1:27 You don't see any of them in the team next season. Did you see Roy with the team at the beginning of the year. Did you see RHP with the team at the beginning of last year? Xhekaj was also a surprise. Things change over a year, not over 1 month or 2 of hockey + summer time.
What about a trade for Martin Necas? Carolina has too many players to resigned and need defensemen. Harris or Struble + Lane Hutson or Logan Mailloux + first round pick (Winnipeg or Calgary) for Martin Necas. Caroline will have 1 NHL ready defenseman with a low salary, a prospect and a first round for a player that will ask few millions as a salary.
good 2 see Allen gone as he had more bad games then good ones. Monty has steadily improved and now he is number one i expect alot from him and Primeau who i thought last year was not even AHL has improved so much….i am 69 and want a cup b4 i pass on..we need a true power forward or 2.
Those guys are too old. Pearson, wides,Ylonen, at least 1-2 defense traded, a goalie gone and 4 new spots next year. All those for OUR prospects to build the core, Beck, Mesar, Tuck, Kahane etc. Then, a big Ufa.
I don't know how accurate but I read that Hutson has declared he was going to spend another year at BU,with his brother .I would like to see Mailloux up at the end of this year.
Most of the UFA on your list are unimpressive and/or overpriced. Hughes trade magic, might work.but is the best solution

Saying they won't be better next year is just lieing to yourself if Dach is healthy already were a much better team. Never mind the kids like beck mesar Farrel heinemen pushing for spots the internal competition alone will make them better. I see no evidence that the Habs are making moves to improve. This so called rebuild is becoming a joke, lots of players available and no action. As long as Molson is making 70 to 80 million dollars a year profit, this is what matters to him. They unload assets and have coming new players who have not even proved they are NHL quality. ALL I hear is Kirby Dach, If Kirby Dach, what if, what if.. This is a smoke screen to appease their fans, NO ACTIONS. When you have Gallagher Anderson and Elonen on the second power play, your in trouble.

The single largest issue for NHL TEAMS outside of Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Nevada , Washington…. These states have no STATE TAXES… the economics of hockey are simple. No state taxes mean that as the salary cap rises the teams operating in these advantaged states gain a bigger advantage…. Hurtl going from California to Vegas ment he boosted his MONEY BY APPROXIMATELY 6 million…. It is not luck that teams winning are from TAX ADVANTAGES AREAS…. 3 of the last 4 come from no tax states… We NEED A GRADED salary cap…. 1 million in Montreal is not 1 million in Vegas
Don't think this is the 2024 – 25 team quite yet. Summer trades for UFA's, bringing in PTO's can be more significant because they'll be roster players that can have immediate impact.
They've got to bring in a fresh perspective veteran rental or two as coaches on ice. You say Montreal has veterans, they're expensive and they've been under the Montreal system too long. If they're not part of the future? Then why are their old habits being used to shape the future?
They need a couple of roster players to cut down the learning curve.
No franchise can build their team off of only prospects. It's also going to lead to a lot of injuries.
You can't plug in and play prospects to address specific needs and holes in the roster – yet you can with known roster players.
I don't think this is exactly the team you're going to see next season.
There's likely more to come this summer – not draft picks that have to be toilet trained.
And again – they need to do something to motivate these young guns to do serious off season training.
The exciting thing about a team like this – is any prospect could come out of the blue and make a fantastic career for themselves – if they just go the extra mile/ kilometer this summer.
Let’s not forget about Dach and all the injuries we had. Hughes will obviously be making some moves this summer, add to that some promising prospects on D and the fact we will be getting rid of some more bad contracts from veterans on the team. Also, i’m sure the end of the 3 goalie rotation will help somewhat when it comes to consistency
It will depend what te habs will do during the off season the draft will be important and summer too.

I agree with you Coach Frenchy. I do think Beck will make the team to replace Evans who needs to be traded.
Dach getting injured torpedoed Mtl plans for this year. Mailloux will play on defence next year, Dach on 2nd line , Roy will make the team, plus they will probably pick up a centerman using some of those picks ….. so no it won't be the same team . They have to find a solution for Gallagher.
One thing that you're not considering…an extra year of experience and development for the young forward group. You can't discount that..
Well the blueline will be at least average and goaltending will be good in my opinion.
First line can cook and yea the bottom 9 will be lacking but I do agree one decent signing would be sufficient to solve this issue
Even with no additional players, the young guys will have another year to learn and improve. The Habs lost a lot of close games this year, which vould be wins next year.
Q.- will Montreal be able to sign Hutson?
Q.- Will Montreal's young defense not be much better in 2024-25 (Guhle-Harris-Struble-Xhekaj)? Will Barron and Trudeau be ready for NHL?
Q.- Will Brandon Gignac and Emil Heineman not be on the Montreal roster? How about Lias Anderson, Arnaud Durandeau or Sean Farrell fighting for a spot?

Coach, great content. I agree that the answers will not be easy. Like to see Owen Beck, Joshua Roy, Emil Heineman, Adam Engstrom, and Mailloux with the team next year. Going Pearson 3.25M, Colin White, Wideman (1.537M combined). Tough decisions to be made. I would payout Dvorak, Armia. Dvo failed experiment from bergevin era, and while Armia has played much better, perhaps it is blocking a spot for a younger player. Still rooting for Simoneau, cause I know he will cause chaos in Nhl😅. Maybe Harris gets traded at the 2024 draft. Also, I would like Florian on the nhl team since it would bring more toughness with 2 Xhekaj on the team 😂😂😂.
